I had two successes last night. 1) I ran shows in Japan and Mexico and it didn't void my "local" TV contract! 2) I ran successful shows in Japan and Mexico! The weird thing is that my popularity only rose in Japan despite my Mexico show having a higher overall popularity rating but the same amount of Title defenses by the same wrestlers. So I don't get why my popularity didn't rise in Mexico too. I did cross-promotional shows for the two events and the popularity of the other promotions relative to the region was the same for each. So right now I'm S/C/D/D but really should be S/C/C/D. Hopefully I will be by tonight! Hey guys. Do you want a long, big money sponsorship with no conditions. or OR ORRRRRRRRRRRRRR OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOooooooooRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRrrrrrrrrrr (slap own face) Do you want a short, laughably low money sponsorship with conditions. But you get a 5% discount at Wendy's. But only Tuesday on the third week of the month. I know. Tough choice. On one hand... a trillion jillion billion qadrillion dollars every week. On the other... 25$ a week. But shit... WENDY's DISCOUNT. I know the choice exists because eventually that sponsorship will seem low, and you will be tied down to it, but they could make the second choice a bit more enticing. Depends if the discount applies to the whole menu or just the value menu. I don't need another 10 cents off those chicken nuggets. Give me a discount on one of those belly-busting burgers. This isn't related to Fire Promoter, I'm just hungry. Got Burning Hammer as a sponsor just now and Giant Baba retired at the tender age of 81. At least he vacated the tag titles before he left! "Burning Hammer" as a sponsor was a genius move by Spike 💡 I'm glad for you that Baba retired after dropping the title but I wouldn't blame him for keeping his 😁

Changing the referee has made matches go from 60-70% ratings to 90-100%
Happy coincidence?

So literally paying to have refs work your show leads to them giving higher ratings? LOL 😁

I am currently working on the following scenario.
It's November 1997. Bret Hart and company has just jumped ship to WCW coming off the Montreal screwjob. Austin is in the beginning of making his charge in the WWF and ECW is at about its peak in terms of profitability. New Japan is starting to struggle thru the transition of 'strong style' and All Japan is start to see the twilight years of Misawa, Kawada and Kobashi. FMW is about to end its relationship with Onita and the indie scene is populated with guys like Reckless Youth, Tom Howard, John Cena and AJ Styles.
Some of the wrestlers involved may not appropriately fit the timeline, but my job is to take this small company and try to make it into the biggest and best promotion with the biggest and best training school using APW standbys in Mike Modest, Donovan Morgan, Erin O'Grady (later Crash Holly), Vic Grimes and Bison Smith while the landscape of wrestling has forever changed with the middle of the Monday Night Wars and Hart's exodus to WCW while the nWo is still the hottest faction in wrestling.

The birth dates and retirements are killing me. I've had Baba, Kobashi and Hogan retire it this play through. Hogan retired his the month after I signed him! Although Rikidozan (95) is near undefeated! I've got his logic pretty spot on because he's won almost every match with a karate chop and pin. I think he won one by submission.

Oh man, I feared that this would happen. Short of editing birth dates, I don't think there's a lot you can do I've not played Promoter the last 10 days or so, I'm rejigging logic on all of my edits & I'm not even halfway there yet

So did I until I realised I'd cocked up nearly every edit's logic & could've made them so much better :D It's all part of the fun though

I've had a few edits retire suddenly too. It's very frustrating because they don't give you any advance notice. I wish they could at least let you know the wrestler is considering retirement so you can somehow talk them out of it or maybe give them a pay raise, or a main event push, or even make them "part time" to not lose them entirely.
I took a few days break from the mode and am trying to play it a more gradually now since I was a little TOO into it for the past few weeks, LOL. I'm in October of Year 3 and I think I'm a threat to be the #1 or #2 promotion. I was #3 at the start of Year 3 but have a ton more money, more belts, and a higher rating in Japan and Mexico than I had before. Right now I'm at S/C/B/D and I was S/D/D/D at the start. I also have friendly relations with all of the feds except the Stoic/Shoot Fighter fed. Even SWA, the #1 fed that was dodging me, is now working with me. So maybe I can at least get #2 ranking and continue to grow and get #1 by the following year.

Or do like Booker T and consider retiring out loud every week and then wonder why you never got a big push until you knocked it off.

I think I’m done with Promoter mode.
I’m at October Year 3 and have 24 wrestlers. Able to sell out the Tokyo Dome easily with around 66,000 each time at $100 ticket price. Plenty of money.
Not friends with any other promotion but they don’t want my guys on their shows so if the loan option fails what else is there to try?
I started with my NJPW 90’s roster of 6. Great Sasuke, Jyushin Liger, El Samurai, Koji Kanemoto, Shinjiro Ohtani and Black Tiger 2 and they carried me far.

what else is there to try? Run a stock market scam to make billions, and use a temporary football league to launder it.

Since I've picked up on the cheat that removes the 6 wrestler restriction from the beginning, I love it. I'm doing one with New Japan and replaced majority of the generated feds with real ones I've made to separate my edits in. So instead of ONI or "GCW" its WWE and NWA. I'm running a purely custom one as well with mostly Lord Worms original edits...Having a lot of fun with that too. I CPU VS. CPU everything and just watch after building the card. PCO is injured and out for two months after a Tag Title Match between the Golden Lovers. ANNNDDD, in the WCCW promotion (which I have no control over) Bruiser Brody holds the main heavyweight strap. Its very fitting and also very awesome.
