I've just lost this post myself, I clicked back on my mouse & lost it all :/ ACK!! Probably because one of the wrestlers no-showed!! Yeah, that would make sense, if your pop's on a parr or higher than theirs in their home region they'd be more keen to have their stars on yours show When I was just looking at my home region's popularity, I wasn't getting the full story. Any promotions that I work with in Japan or Mexico would not be too pleased that my wrestlers have their Titles BUT they may also not see it worthwhile enough to send their wrestlers to get them back. I wanted to start running shows in Japan this year (I had one successful one at the end of Year 2) but then I got a broadcast deal at the start of Year 3 and it seemed that I only get paid if I run shows in my region. I may have misinterpreted that though. As long as they won't break off their deal as a result, I don't mind running a few shows outside my region if it just means losing sponsor money a given month. Nope, they don't for Trust & Status they have ------- so it looks likely the Trust rating is for their employer Agreed, that pretty much seals the deal that Trust rating is just for the wrestler's employer. Makes more sense that way, really. It will be SOOOO much quicker than the 20 minutes it takes me to book one card and then loan all my remaining wrestlers to other promotions! That sounds like a lot of hard work! :D I even use the auto-book at times then rejig the cards to something closer to my liking The fact that I'm using my own e-fed in Fire Promoter means that I'm a bit of a control freak in trying to form cards that represent my fed hierarchy and storylines. I'm essentially seeing how well my fed storylines, Champions, and rankings do when played through Fire Promoter but with the outside promotions included in the dynamic. That doesn't take so long in of itself. Even a 10-match card can be set by me in 5-10 minutes. But throw in the desire to get wrestlers on other shows and my big roster and that part can take another 5-10 minutes. What about doing the cheat but then starting with only like 10 as a happy medium? Yeah, that sounds like an interesting idea. I wonder, if I want to start a Lucha fed, can I move around the starting default rosters so I can start off with a bunch of Lucha guys? That is a very good question that I am not certain about at all, haha. I'm looking into reworking the logic of a lot of my guys after watching so many default matches, I've made them all way too pin happy. I just hate seeing top rope dive moves, moves off the top rope, Sig moments & general big moves go without a good chance of a pin so I'm going to tone them all down I 100% agree with you about that. I don't like seeing any moves that are big enough to end matches not at least have an attempt attached to it. One idea is to "tier" your big moves a little so that some of the smaller level finishes maybe are connected to like a taunt into a submission rather than a pin. The idea being that your wrestler still gets in their attempted priority but the opponent has a chance to get up or fight out of the sub. I've tried to add a little more variety with some of my priorities and not have all my big stuff end in specific taunts or pins. That way the spots have a bit more flexibility to them and aren't always an obvious 1-2 follow-up. Having a big move go to a pin like 75% of the time but a taunt-> sub the other 25% has helped makes matches stand out as unique since it feels like the wrestlers are improvising a little.

I don't know if this applies, but on my second save, I'm getting more cross-promotion action in the 4th year. At the end of year 3 results, we were ranked 15th out of 17 after being bottom for the first two years. One of the companies I was rated higher than was ONI & they send me a wrestler pretty much every month now. I don't have any of there titles & the wrestlers they send me have no titles to defend Yes, you need to be careful on that, I accepted a TV deal the first month I decide to run a show in Japan, I didn't read the small print & lost the deal straight away with only 324 people at the show :D That is a very good question that I am not certain about at all, haha. I gave it a try & you can't, there's no way to edit the starting default rosters. So if I ran a Lucha promotion, Mickey Williams would become a Lucha ?!? :O I 100% agree with you about that. I don't like seeing any moves that are big enough to end matches not at least have an attempt attached to it. That makes loads of sense & sortof opened my eyes a bit when it comes to Sig moves & pins. Like, for example, I had Goldberg with a 50% chance to pin after a Spear. What I changed it to was he'd Taunt after the Spear then pick them up after the Taunt for a chance of Spear - Taunt- Jackhammer I have a bunch of generic edits, with wrestling styles I like to try things out with. I actually set up a guy with a small chance of sequence & he pulled it off fully to get a win. It was Squat Taunt - Spear - Powerbomb Taunt- Pickup - Last Ride - Sharpshooter for the finish. A chain of Signature moves with a 50/50 chance of each one happening, it was pretty awesome seeing rather than Spear - Pin - Finish It's just such a daunting task when you have some 3,000 edits to go back through & adjust

So by October of the first year I’m running $100 small hall shows and bringing in huge amounts of money. Difficult to move up to medium but I think I will get there sooner rather than later.

Just got Fire Promoter on Saturday and I played it all day Sunday. I used my own edits from my own promotion. Took a couple of tries to get the base concept. Still trying to figure out how to raise popularity above a B level in the US. I'm a AJPW type promotion.
I also had the big national TV contract in year 1 where the stipulations are you have to have no lower than 3,000 in attendance. I thought it meant your average attendance has to be at least 3k which is no problem. So, I tried to run a show in Europe and brought in Ultimo Dragon. He no showed and my attendance for the showed for the event and the attendance dropped to under 3K and the national contract was cancelled. Essentially, Ultimo Dragon cost me millions.
This game is addictive. I wish they allowed you to sign a few more wrestlers. 6 is not enough. I also don't like how some of my edits won't be involved at all, even as FA's.
It would be interesting to create a group of wrestlers from a certain time period and try to be one of the promotions. Like ECW in '95-'96...with Austin about to make his run in the WWF, the nWo having gained full steam, but looking on the decline and The Rock was still Flex Kavana. It would be a blast to go back to that time, build up ECW enough and get disgruntled wrestlersf rom the WWF or WCW or guys from Japan and the indies.
Or maybe being in the AWA in 1985 and trying to survive McMahon's expansion.
I do find investing in the gym and the doctors to be crucial. You need your wrestlers working for you and be able to rely on them because wrestlers from other promotions and FA's are often unreliable and cost a lot of money, particularly if they no-show.

Then you get revenge.
You open the editor and you give him black trunks with Polka dots. Then you play against him in a match and give like 45 brainbusters onto the top turnbuckle and injure every one of his limbs on the outside.

I don’t think Match rating actually impacts anything. I’ve routinely had events that haven’t eclipsed 75% and I’m drawing 10,000+ with $100 ticket price easily.
So many shitty matches and warnings of fans aren’t happy with match rating yet still drawing mad money and have an A in popularity (up from the D I started the game at).
I wonder how many different things actually do nothing in the mode and which features actually impact things like popularity. It feels all smoke and mirrors.

It would have been nice to be able to fill empty spots on the card with non-wrestling segments, like a promos, interviews, hype videos, etc...

It would have been nice to be able to fill empty spots on the card with non-wrestling segments, like a promos, interviews, hype videos, etc... That is a great idea. Would have loved some variety here. I started a new playthrough today. Cody left AEW after the first show... OMG! That really happened!? I bet he tried to unionize and then he fired himself. I don't know how much match rating actually increases the popularity of individual wrestlers. I feel like if a wrestler wins a match against a higher ranked wrestler, they will rise in popularity regardless of the match rating. My guess is that the overall match rating bumps the promotion's popularity. I'm enjoying going into this mode kind of new cause I know once we find everything out, it's gonna be a little difficult to get the same entertainment out of it: putting aside the actual matches. The more we know about this mode, the more it becomes just going through the motions to get the results we know will occur. I don't have any of there titles & the wrestlers they send me have no titles to defend Interesting. Did you do the unlock cheat for this playthrough? I wonder if the unlock cheat is messing with promotions trying to send me wrestlers? Yes, you need to be careful on that, I accepted a TV deal the first month I decide to run a show in Japan, I didn't read the small print & lost the deal straight away with only 324 people at the show :D LOL yeah I'm worried that I may end up losing the contract. I wish we could just "opt out" certain months. I gave it a try & you can't, there's no way to edit the starting default rosters. So if I ran a Lucha promotion, Mickey Williams would become a Lucha ?!? :O Lucha is a state of mind 😀 That makes loads of sense & sortof opened my eyes a bit when it comes to Sig moves & pins. Like, for example, I had Goldberg with a 50% chance to pin after a Spear. What I changed it to was he'd Taunt after the Spear then pick them up after the Taunt for a chance of Spear - Taunt- Jackhammer I really like having two moves that follow each other but not all the time. Having one move eligible to win set up to pin like 50-75% of the time but the other 25% leading to the second move is a strategy I use a lot. Throw in some taunts there as well. Like right now my Wang Gom-Bu edit does this: Ruby Frosion -> Pin (75%) Ruby Frosion -> Taunt (100%) Taunt -> Iron Claw (100% The 25% of the time the first priority isn't chosen, it will lead 100% of the time into the taunt and then the iron claw. This leads to a cool spot and gives a little variety. I have a bunch of generic edits, with wrestling styles I like to try things out with. I actually set up a guy with a small chance of sequence & he pulled it off fully to get a win. It was Squat Taunt - Spear - Powerbomb Taunt- Pickup - Last Ride - Sharpshooter for the finish. A chain of Signature moves with a 50/50 chance of each one happening, it was pretty awesome seeing rather than Spear - Pin - Finish It's just such a daunting task when you have some 3,000 edits to go back through and adjust Yeah, it can take a LONG time to get older edits up to date with your new way of doing things. Heck, I only have the 5 voice samples on like THREE edits right now out of my main 25-30 that I sim! It takes forever to set those voice samples!! I have like 2-3 versions of some edits because I love trying different sequences with them and can't constrain myself to just one version!

Imagine if you could set a starting year in Fire Promoter and it hid wrestlers who are either under 18 or over 55 according to their DOB compared to the in-game year. You could start a game in 1970 with territory edits and play through all the decades until present day.

Got Burning Hammer as a sponsor just now and Giant Baba retired at the tender age of 81. At least he vacated the tag titles before he left!

Hey guys.
Do you want a long, big money sponsorship with no conditions.
or
OR
ORRRRRRRRRRRRRR
OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOooooooooRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRrrrrrrrrrr (slap own face)
Do you want a short, laughably low money sponsorship with conditions. But you get a 5% discount at Wendy's. But only Tuesday on the third week of the month.
I know. Tough choice.
On one hand... a trillion jillion billion qadrillion dollars every week. On the other... 25$ a week.
But shit...
WENDY's DISCOUNT.
I know the choice exists because eventually that sponsorship will seem low, and you will be tied down to it, but they could make the second choice a bit more enticing.
