Mickey Williams on the default roster reminds me of him so much, he even has some of his signature moves, he's absolutely brutal. Fork attacks & chokes & he'll usually tap people out to a King Cobra Choke or Torture Headlock. It took me a good few years to warm to him but I couldn't help with his somehow high matche ratings & his overness. The fans love him, the blood thirsty sickos I like the idea of an older vet heel who works that style but man oh man was Mr. Cobra annoying to play against!! He seemed to have a knack for breaking up the spots I had planned on the ring ramp LOL 😁 I punished him by having him manage a wrestler who was facing my Vader CRITICAL! machine. Then I used Vader (1P) to injure his wrestlers right in front of him on the floor or from the ring apron. I carry grudges in 1P mode The only other fed I seem to be able to cross promote with is the Mexican MWA & the last card we shared stunk! They send guys to me all the time trying to get their belt back!! I finally got there though, took 6 or 7 cards to finally get back to an A. A lot of hard work for one dude spilling the beans I have a very good working relationship with BDG now and recently started to make in roads with MWA. Right now my Naja Mask character somehow holds BOTH singles titles in BDG! On their last show, he beat one of my other promotion's wrestlers (Tsaoring Chou) who was holding their Light Heavy Championship! No clue why BDG would essentially book a Champion vs. Champion match without any real build-up but there's likely a reason they are the lucha fed lower on the totem pole! 😀 Interesting that MWA sends wrestlers to you. I don't have that happen. I've only had one offer for a cross-promotional show. But each fed has usually accepted my offer. And whenever I have wrestlers from other promotions on my show, it's always cause I invite them. They have actually asked you to use their wrestlers? Do you think it's because you have one of their Championships? That would be an interesting mechanic. I have a lot of Championships from other promotions but they seemed to have just accepted it at this point! Have you had any action in Europe? I've never ventured there as there seem to be no Europeans in my game. I started a on the smallest amount of promotions so I put it down to that I haven't yet either. I also notice the same thing as there are no European free agents and no European promotions. All I see are North American promotions (including a Canadian one), two-three Japanese ones, and two Lucha ones in Mexico. So I'm not even sure how to go about having a popular show in Europe anytime soon since I won't have any high ranked wrestlers from Europe to book. I think what we'll have to do is scout heavily in Europe for any style and have our scouts locate European free agents. Then hopefully they will have a high popularity ranking for Europe and we can use them to start to make our wrestlers popular there. Maybe if our wrestlers are popular in every other region, they would have a chance at drawing in Europe too. But without anyone ranked high enough to raise our wrestler's popularity there with victories, our wrestlers will likely stay "D" there for a long time. So I think we'll need to focus scouting on Europe and get a handful of free agents there with high enough popularity before holding any shows there.

Poor Mr Cobra! I hope he's enjoying his retirement in my save :D
Yeah, we ran a cross promotion event years ago & they put their HW title on the line & one of my guys won it, ever since then, every couple of months they send me a wrestler or two. It's up to me to put them in the title match but they're obviously trying to win it back & it spices up the card a bit, so far they've not managed it. They've sent me their Junior champ a couple of times too & I can book him in a title match for his belt. The card I'm running now, Jeff Brain one of my new Luchas has just won it so I've two of their belts now
You're right, I can only really book 8 matches a card really & 6 or 7 if putting on multi man matches. You're making me want to hold back guys so I can loan them to other feds to see if they can snatch some titles
Everytime I look to book a card in Europe I'm looking at a 300 seater gym again & it would be a huge cost hit so I just don't bother. I think the most popular guy I have is a C rating

I've noticed my edits who have very targeted offense tend to actually injure those parts in their opponents during long matches. So I'm thinking it would be good to take that in consideration, and have referees who react faster to keep those guys healthy if they are going in already worn down, and not have someone continually work opponents who target that area.

Poor Mr Cobra! I hope he's enjoying his retirement in my save :D As long as he stays in retirement, I'll wish him well 😁 Yeah, we ran a cross promotion event years ago & they put their HW title on the line & one of my guys won it, ever since then, every couple of months they send me a wrestler or two. It's up to me to put them in the title match but they're obviously trying to win it back & it spices up the card a bit, so far they've not managed it. They've sent me their Junior champ a couple of times too & I can book him in a title match for his belt. The card I'm running now, Jeff Brain one of my new Luchas has just won it so I've two of their belts now Interesting - I haven't had any promotion try to send me their wrestlers even though I've won a ton of Championships from theirs. Maybe it has to do with how they win it? Like if I invite their Champions to my show and then win their Title, perhaps they are less likely to try to get it back then if my wrestlers get loaned to their promotions and win their Titles on their shows? But I've had methods happen of winning Titles from other promotions and they never send wrestlers over to get them back. Maybe they are scared 💪 You're right, I can only really book 8 matches a card really & 6 or 7 if putting on multi man matches. You're making me want to hold back guys so I can loan them to other feds to see if they can snatch some titles The best is when you casually loan a low/midcarder and suddenly they are a Champion!! LOL. After you start regularly loaning wrestlers, make sure you get into the habit of checking the results of the events of other promotions. It's the top option in the "Help" menu. The interface is a little weird but if you highlight each promotion (on the vertical list) and press like "Q" or "W", you'll go past their factions screen and then onto their event results screen. Then you can see which one of your wrestlers won matches. That, combined with seeing a little belt on their profile, gives you an idea of how they did. It can get VERY initially confusing if one of your wrestlers won a tag team (or trios) Title because it won't always show their name on the Titles screen. It only shows the name of the first member of the team. So if one of your wrestlers suddenly holds a title, and you can't find it on the Titles screen, here's what you should do. You can find out who your wrestler was paired with by looking at the promotion events results and seeing who was in their match. It may be one of your wrestlers or one of the promotion's home wrestlers. Everytime I look to book a card in Europe I'm looking at a 300 seater gym again & it would be a huge cost hit so I just don't bother. I think the most popular guy I have is a C rating It's probably just better to wait. That's what I plan to do. I do wonder if there is a difference if my wrestlers are popular in the 3 other promotions rather than just 1 of them. With no European free agents, I need all the help that I can get so it probably makes sense for me to save Europe til the end. I've noticed my edits who have very targeted offense tend to actually injure those parts in their opponents during long matches. So I'm thinking it would be good to take that in consideration, and have referees who react faster to keep those guys healthy if they are going in already worn down, and not have someone continually work opponents who target that area. Oooh, faster counting referees is a very good idea to avoid injuries. I like that idea a lot! 💡 Same with checking out the body damage map and not book someone with a vulnerable area against a submission user of that body type. I haven't even considered these ideas when booking wrestlers. My wrestlers have laid out a number of invited wrestlers. I feel a little guilty 😓 And I hope it doesn't somehow hurt the relationship with my fed and theirs.

You really have to play with a calculator nearby to be good at making money.
It was so tempting to tweak everything and almost fill a 15,000 seat arena. I would have just barely survived that show if everything went well.
But when I dialed it back to a 5000 seat arena and upped the ticket prices to 40$ (AKA, a higher class of customer) and prepared all the cheap merchandise instead, I ended up making a killing, and doubled my promotion's cash.
But I accidentally let Vanessa Pryce win my belt, and she is costing me lots of money every month. I have to remember to play manually and beat her if she doesn't sign with me. :)

I started making SERIOUS BANK once I was able to sell out the Urban Large Arena with $40 and $60 tickets. Even if I run a smaller show, it's well worth it to sell out a Medium Arena while charging $40-60 than a Large arena with $10-20. Even if you have to increase advertising costs, you make much more off those higher ticket prices. Year 1 I was barely able to turn a profit but by the end of Year 2 I was regularly making multi-million dollar profit each month. And that's with maintaining my gym and inviting a ton of wrestlers from other promotions and freelance. I spend a lot of money on merchandise too but I believe that ends up working for my profits. It's kind of harder to figure that out all of the time.
I do need a text file at this point to keep track of all my wrestlers's ranking, popularity, and which promotions they hold Championships in. Booking one month of my shows plus loaning wrestlers now takes like 20 minutes but that's also because I ran the "unlock money" code so I have a large roster.

Oh, maintaining the gym is a pain in the ass, I barely check it unless I want to do an upgrade. I've maxed out my gym so didn't check it for a few months & when I did a load of the equipment was broken :/
Do you guys not think this gets a bit easy?
The first few years I was barely making anything with doing the upgrades, now, if I run a US show at the Arena with $60 tickets, I make $6.5 million a month with merch on top. It's a lot less if I go to Japan or Mexico because the arenas are smaller & we're less popular
I started on Easy with the lowest amount of feds, I've been the top fed for two years now so I might start again after this year to make it harder
How many do you have on your roster now Geese & how many belts have you got? I think I've got about 25 & it's starting to feel a bit bloated & a bit more work with 3 Junior titles now I need to book
I signed a guy called Muscle Hustle off the Free Agents list & he had the KOG Junior title, he's got an error in his moveset, his Iron Claw Slam Finisher is in his moveset twice & a fair few guys have corner run up moves & can't run up the turnbuckles

Oh, maintaining the gym is a pain in the ass, I barely check it unless I want to do an upgrade. I've maxed out my gym so didn't check it for a few months & when I did a load of the equipment was broken :/ I haven't maxed out my gym yet but I do maintenance after each month. Most of my equipment and gym features are on a low level though. I should probably work a little more on that, especially since I am making the money to support those upgrades. I wish we could set the game to auto-maintain the gym so we didn't have to spend the time in doing it when we just want to keep things running normally without upgrading it. Do you guys not think this gets a bit easy? The first few years I was barely making anything with doing the upgrades, now, if I run a US show at the Arena with $60 tickets, I make $6.5 million a month with merch on top. It's a lot less if I go to Japan or Mexico because the arenas are smaller & we're less popular I started on Easy with the lowest amount of feds, I've been the top fed for two years now so I might start again after this year to make it harder It definitely is getting kind of easy for me. Like right now it's just a matter of time until I eventually move over to the other regions. The thing is, I want to play through the mode just to see all the cool and funny things that can happen. And I am enjoying simulating my own storylines a little through Fire Promoter, but mixed with the outside talent and the little bonus things that happen throughout the mode. Does anyone know what the difference is between the difficulty levels? Does it just take longer for your wrestlers and promotion to get popular? Do you start with less money? Is it like Oregon Trail where you start with a carpenter rather than a banker but are awarded with more points at the end? LOL. "(Invited Wrestler) refuses to work your show because they have contracted dysentery" 💩 "BDG wants to work a cross-promotional event? Do you accept (), reject (), ford the river?" How many do you have on your roster now Geese & how many belts have you got? I think I've got about 25 & it's starting to feel a bit bloated & a bit more work with 3 Junior titles now I need to book I have 58 wrestlers. Among them, they hold 30 Championships, including all 5 of my own. I started with about 63 wrestlers. 3 retired and 2 just walked out. It does feel a little bloated in regards to having so many wrestlers of low popularity holding so many top titles of other promotions. But the redundancy is annoying me more than the pure title bloat. A lot of wrestlers seem to hold tag titles with wrestlers that they shouldn't be tagging with!! I don't like that other promotions don't acknowledge my faction organization when they book my wrestlers. Apparently wrestlers from other promotions will be more likely to no-show your events if you put them with wrestlers from rival factions. But there's no way to pressure other promotions to acknowledge your storylines and faction connections. It's weird seeing two wrestlers that hate each other in my storylines hold Tag Titles together in other promotions. It's also weird seeing a wrestler hold BOTH the Junior and Heavy singles Title of another promotion. It's like there's no rhyme or reason as to how other promotions use your wrestlers when you send them over there. There are too many Titles that my wrestlers shouldn't have and too many titles that others should have. Sometimes I have to basically switch titles from other promotions from one of my wrestlers to another more logical wrestler on my own events. I signed a guy called Muscle Hustle off the Free Agents list & he had the KOG Junior title, he's got an error in his moveset, his Iron Claw Slam Finisher is in his moveset twice & a fair few guys have corner run up moves & can't run up the turnbuckles That's weird about having the same move, a finisher no less, in their moveset. As much as I prefer the majority of Fire Promoter defaults to the original SWA edits, there are definitely some oversights. The "can't run up turnbuckles" thing is something that shouldn't happen anymore. I really wish they allowed us to access and edit the Fire Promoter defaults.

I wish I knew how to use the multi quote :D I end up making a mess & having to start again each time!!
58!! Whoah!! That's nuts! I bet you get a dozen guys knocking on your door after each show wanting a payrise!! :D & 30 titles!!! I've got 10, I'm surprised the other feds aren't throwing guys at you trying to win them back!!
I loaned out Jack Howard tonight, a heavyweight & he came back with a junior title & two other of my guys have random tag titles after being loaned out
I think the Easy, Normal, Hard thing is just the starting money to be honest, I've not heard anyone say otherwise. A few more cards & I'm going to try on normal. Though, one of my scouts has just found a guy called "Beast" nickname "Justice is Power", a 357lb monster who I've thrown into the main event for the title shot on his debut. He's Strongstyle & came in with a D in trust so I'm going to see if this helps. So, depending on this goes I might run another year :D
Yes!! I really want to be able to edit out the logic & moveset cock-ups

I wish I knew how to use the multi quote :D I end up making a mess & having to start again each time!! After you press "Quote" and see the text input screen, go to the "BBCode" link option at the bottom of the text input screen. You'll see the BB code for the quotation function and will be able to use that code in your post. I'm quoting your above post so every time I want to quote a new part, I find this part at the very top of the quoted post: [quote source="/post/23883/thread" author="@flashburton" timestamp="1553119714"] I put that code at the start of the quote of yours I want to use and then I put: [/quote] at the end of your quote, so that I can go back to signifying that it's my section of the post and the quote is over. Sometimes I'll mess up the tags though if I'm quoting you quoting me so it can get a little messy LOL. 58!! Whoah!! That's nuts! I bet you get a dozen guys knocking on your door after each show wanting a payrise!! :D & 30 titles!!! I've got 10, I'm surprised the other feds aren't throwing guys at you trying to win them back!! Yeah, I don't really understand why I don't have more promotions sending their wrestlers after mine given that my mine control more than 50% of like the bottom 4-6 feds in my Fire Promoter world!! You'd think they'd come back after their Titles. Maybe because I did the "unlock cheat" they are afraid of me!? LOL. I loaned out Jack Howard tonight, a heavyweight & he came back with a junior title & two other of my guys have random tag titles after being loaned out I wonder if a higher ranked edit in popularity will get a higher frequency of Title matches in other promotions. I'm not so sure of that though as two of my bottom feeding jobbers have won Titles! I think the Easy, Normal, Hard thing is just the starting money to be honest, I've not heard anyone say otherwise. A few more cards & I'm going to try on normal. What a grand debut for a new signature wrestler! A wrestler that has a low trust rating for their fed is more easily convinced to join yours, right?

You'd think they'd come back after their Titles. Maybe because I did the "unlock cheat" they are afraid of me!? LOL. How's your popularity compared to theirs? Maybe you're not deemed popular enough to have them send you talent? But I guess you sent them talent in the first place so your guys are popular enough? Have you tried a Cross Promotion with any of them? I think I did that a couple of times (to take their belts in the first place) then they started sending me wrestlers. Our relationship was Friendly, are you Friendly with any other feds? I wonder if a higher ranked edit in popularity will get a higher frequency of Title matches in other promotions. I'm not so sure of that though as two of my bottom feeding jobbers have won Titles! Jack's a popular guy, like A/B/B/C across the World, our promotion was built on the Jack Howard - Mickey Williams rivalry. That was the first time I'd ever loaned him out but I've no idea how the AI booked him in a Junior HW title match in the first place. My Lower guys went out a few times & came back empty handed so that makes sense Wow, I love that Beast character and his nickname! What a grand debut for a new signature wrestler! He lost, then he lost another title shot vs Bear Brown :D So my idea of having "Beast" come in & making a name for himself went down the pan :D The whole point was though, his trust went from a D to C after being booked in the first title match so it could be a gamey way of getting guys on your side I just need to fathom a way of getting someone to lose trust I did start another save last night, normal with 16 promotions, a strong style fed in Europe, just all default & it does tale the shine off it a little bit. A) All the people I scouted like the Bears & Beast are already at companies B) You still have to start with same group of defaults A wrestler that has a low trust rating for their fed is more easily convinced to join yours, right? I think so yeah, I've never tried the direct route & have always gone for the free agents. I've never had a wrestler walk out or get poached which is one of the reasons it's been so easy. Like if the SWA had poached Jack Howard after the first year, I would have struggled, but he was quite happy being paid $3,000 a month where they're paying guys in the region of $10,000 That's what I liked about TEW, you'd build up a wrestler to being your main guy in your tin pot promotion, he'd hold your belt & headline your shows then a bigger fed would poach him once he became popular enough & use him as certain jerker. I haven't found that yet in FP

Many thanks, let me see if I've got the hang of this Looks like you do! Now you're getting it! 🎩🙋♂️ How's your popularity compared to theirs? Maybe you're not deemed popular enough to have them send you talent? But I guess you sent them talent in the first place so your guys are popular enough? Have you tried a Cross Promotion with any of them? I think I did that a couple of times (to take their belts in the first place) then they started sending me wrestlers. Our relationship was Friendly, are you Friendly with any other feds? That's a good question. On one hand, my popularity in my home region is "S" and higher than all of theirs in my home region. It's also higher than a lot of the promotions that I've worked with in their home region. However, I have S/D/D/D so I'm only popular in my region where most of them have some level of popularity everywhere. Like you said though, the fact they are even working with me at all shows that I'm popular enough on some minimum level. I have had a working relationships (for a year) with two promotions so far. I've run numerous cross-promotional shows. I've accepted many invites and loaned many wrestlers. So I have a solid relationship with many of the feds and and outright Friendly relationship with them as well. But onto my third year, I've only had like two wrestlers loaned to me!! Maybe they don't want their Titles back! 😁 Jack's a popular guy, like A/B/B/C across the World, our promotion was built on the Jack Howard - Mickey Williams rivalry. That was the first time I'd ever loaned him out but I've no idea how the AI booked him in a Junior HW title match in the first place. My Lower guys went out a few times & came back empty handed so that makes sense Is Jack a Heavy or a Junior? If he's a Heavy and was booked as a junior, perhaps a glitch occurred? That happened to someone else recently too (I think SonnyX). The game booked one of his heavyweights for a junior title. I understand how a junior can be booked for a heavy title (since it's all-encompassing) but the reverse isn't supposed to be able to happen! A junior can compete for both titles, but a heavy can't. Wow, I love that Beast character and his nickname! What a grand debut for a new signature wrestler! He lost, then he lost another title shot vs Bear Brown :D So my idea of having "Beast" come in & making a name for himself went down the pan :D The whole point was though, his trust went from a D to C after being booked in the first title match so it could be a gamey way of getting guys on your side I just need to fathom a way of getting someone to lose trust The Bear felled the Beast!! 🐻🐼 Hmmm, reading what yu said there about trust got me thinking. Big question here: Is the "Trust" setting of a wrestler working for another promotion supposed to represent their trust for their home promotion or their trust for your promotion? I did start another save last night, normal with 16 promotions, a strong style fed in Europe, just all default & it does tale the shine off it a little bit. A) All the people I scouted like the Bears & Beast are already at companies B) You still have to start with same group of defaults I really like the defaults but I think I'd need some of my edits in there. I am considering starting a new save without the cheat with like the 6 starting wrestlers we can use, but with my edits. I do feel as if my current playthrough with my entire roster and oodles of money is kind of watering down the experience. But since I'm in the third year, I also want to see the cut scenes that can happen. It would be hard starting from scratch again right now. Kind of torn but maybe will try to run the two saves in an alternating way. Honestly, I never imagined I'd be so sucked into Fire Promoter. Everything else within Fire Pro and my other games have taken a backseat. It also helps cause it's a very easy game to play when I'm tired. It's just basically mouse clicking. Over the past few weeks, by the time I've gotten to actually play something, I'm too tired for anything physically active (like a fighting game) and my brain is too tired to make edits. Just booking my edits with Promoter is a way for me to get some minimum level of Fire Pro experience but in a novel and fun way. A wrestler that has a low trust rating for their fed is more easily convinced to join yours, right? I think so yeah, I've never tried the direct route & have always gone for the free agents. I've never had a wrestler walk out or get poached which is one of the reasons it's been so easy. Like if the SWA had poached Jack Howard after the first year, I would have struggled, but he was quite happy being paid $3,000 a month where they're paying guys in the region of $10,000 That goes back (and maybe answers) my earlier question too. I'm still confused as to what "Trust" means in relation to a wrestler from an outside promotion. Originally I thought it meant the trust they have with their promotion but now it seems that its actually the trust they have with yours?

Big question here: Is the "Trust" setting of a wrestler working for another promotion supposed to represent their trust for their home promotion or their trust for your promotion? I assume it's the trust the wrestler has with their promotion, they don't work for you so they don't need any trust for you, but again, I'm just making an assumption here on what I think would make sense I really like the defaults but I think I'd need some of my edits in there. I am considering starting a new save without the cheat with like the 6 starting wrestlers we can use, but with my edits. Just booking my edits with Promoter is a way for me to get some minimum level of Fire Pro experience but in a novel and fun way. Yeah, give the two saves a go, starting with 6 wrestlers you'll only have to book 2/3 matches a card so will get through the first few years really fast I'm enjoying the defaults but having to start again with the exact same wrestlers is pretty dull, especially the first year or so where you don't have enough spare cash to sign anyone else. It's making me think the other way, start with the cheat so I can sack them all I get in a full set of fresh wrestlers :D It is a nice chilled mode, just kick back with the TV on, do a bit of booking, do a bit of management & run the card [/quote]

Ack, my interned died right when I posted a response to this and I lost it! I'll go a bit shorter on a replay. Oh, so that blows out my popularity theory :D You may still have something to that theory though for two reasons: 1) My popularity outside of my home region is "D" and so the other promotions I work with that are outside my region may not see it worth it to send wrestlers my way. Perhaps there is a higher bar to clear for getting them to send wrestlers than there is for them to accept my wrestlers or loan them to me when I ask/pay for them. 2) Popularity may still be a factor in an overall algorithm for them offering their wrestlers to me. I assume it's the trust the wrestler has with their promotion, they don't work for you so they don't need any trust for you, but again, I'm just making an assumption here on what I think would make sense I can't remember offhand and don't have the game running in front of me but do wrestlers in the "Freelance" area have Trust ratings? If so, who would it be toward? If they do have trust, that may imply that trust is actually with your promotion even for wrestlers that are in promotions. Yeah, give the two saves a go, starting with 6 wrestlers you'll only have to book 2/3 matches a card so will get through the first few years really fast It will be SOOOO much quicker than the 20 minutes it takes me to book one card and then loan all my remaining wrestlers to other promotions! I'm enjoying the defaults but having to start again with the exact same wrestlers is pretty dull, especially the first year or so where you don't have enough spare cash to sign anyone else. It's making me think the other way, start with the cheat so I can sack them all I get in a full set of fresh wrestlers :D What about doing the cheat but then starting with only like 10 as a happy medium?

Ack, my interned died right when I posted a response to this and I lost it! I'll go a bit shorter on a replay. I've just lost this post myself, I clicked back on my mouse & lost it all :/ You may still have something to that theory though for two reasons: 1) My popularity outside of my home region is "D" and so the other promotions I work with that are outside my region may not see it worth it to send wrestlers my way. Perhaps there is a higher bar to clear for getting them to send wrestlers than there is for them to accept my wrestlers or loan them to me when I ask/pay for them. 2) Popularity may still be a factor in an overall algorithm for them offering their wrestlers to me. Yeah, that would make sense, if your pop's on a parr or higher than theirs in their home region they'd be more keen to have their stars on yours show I can't remember offhand and don't have the game running in front of me but do wrestlers in the "Freelance" area have Trust ratings? If so, who would it be toward? If they do have trust, that may imply that trust is actually with your promotion even for wrestlers that are in promotions. Nope, they don't for Trust & Status they have ------- so it looks likely the Trust rating is for their employer It will be SOOOO much quicker than the 20 minutes it takes me to book one card and then loan all my remaining wrestlers to other promotions! That sounds like a lot of hard work! :D I even use the auto-book at times then rejig the cards to something closer to my liking What about doing the cheat but then starting with only like 10 as a happy medium? Yeah, that sounds like an interesting idea. I wonder, if I want to start a Lucha fed, can I move around the starting default rosters so I can start off with a bunch of Lucha guys? I'm looking into reworking the logic of a lot of my guys after watching so many default matches, I've made them all way too pin happy. I just hate seeing top rope dive moves, moves off the top rope, Sig moments & general big moves go without a good chance of a pin so I'm going to tone them all down
