I've been really hot and cold on AEW over the past two months.
But the MJF/Regal segment last week was incredible as was MJF's selling of it during the main event angle.
The Adam Page injury last week was awful though. Weird that there hasn't been many updates about him over the past week beyond the first few days after it occurred. Hope that he's truly okay and won't have any negative effects.
Halfway through Dynamite tonight and like what I'm seeing. Both tag matches were really fun.
Watching Cesaro giant-swing Jericho while fireman-carrying Garcia at the same time was a FEAT to behold.
The stuff Cesaro does in real life seems bigger than the stuff Hogan used to exaggerate š

I watched my first, AEW Collision today, it was the episode from Toronto prior to forbidden door. I havenāt seen Tanahashi in a long time, and this was really hard to watch. I remember seeing Mutoh in his later years, and as tough as that was, this was far worse, heās so beaten up. I hope he got paid a shit ton for these gigs and itās enough for him to hang up his boots for good. Yikes.
I like the new announce team, itās a breath of fresh air somehow compared to Dynamite.the set is pretty cool. Loved the Hobbs squash (that spinebuster is looking good!), and Iāve become an overnight fan of Juice Robinson! The guy is a heat machine, and looks like randy Savages illegitimate love child. And, love him or hate him, Punk lit that place up!
Hopefully Collision will have a distinct feel and roster from dynamite, Iāve had a tough time giving a shit about that dogs breakfast of odd stipulations and angles for a while now, but I want to give this a chance, and hopefully it will pull me in again. So far, so good!

Wow, FTR vs Jay White/Juice Robinson was nuts! What a match! Regina got a serious treat with that Collision match! Iāve not seen a ton of Jay White or Juice Robinson stuff, but Iām really diggin them, and juice is a character. None of the usual corny stuff, he legit seems like a loose cannon, reminds me a bit of Macho Man in a way, and he looks crazier than a shithouse rat! Dude can talk, and can work his ass off!
I havenāt had this much fun watching a match in a while (maybe since the FTR / Briscoes stuff!), canāt wait to see more, especially from Juice!

Still pvrāing AEW (only get dynamite where I am), fast forwarding through everything, chasing the dragon, hoping to find something I like, something that sparks that old fire, but itās a saaaad, barren landscape for me. Swerve is interesting, his awkward/unique style makes him simultaneously intriguing and difficult to watch, but mostly the former. I was excited to see him square off with Jay Lethal, and the match wasnāt bad. I really want to see him move on from the āfeudā with hangman page, that guy is dead weight and is seriously stealing Swerves momentum. I hope someone saves swerve, heās one of the very few bright spots in this organization.
Iām aging myself here, but I remember watching Shibataās debut match in NJPW ages ago, and I was an instant fan. I heard his name mentioned on dynamite and thought āwtf? Shibata here?ā I hope heās making dump trucks full of money from AEW, because getting teamed up with orange casidy and a popsicle stick in a wig to face off against three guys Iāve never heard of is not doing anything for his legacy. I thought Tony Khan was a big fan of puroresu, why would he think this is a good way to use Shibata? Oh well, it didnāt look like Shibata got dumped on his head or otherwise hurt in this sad mess of a match, I hope his bank account surpasses his legacy at least.
Iāll keep trying, but man itās hard (even that like a dragon match, Jesus Christā¦. š).

I got Sling last week, recorded Dynamite, watched it, not bad, not good, just there. In fairness, I was surprised by Cassidy vs Jerixho. With the sloppy interference out of the way, it looked like Cassidy was trying. I recorded Collision but didn't watch it yet, I am working through AJPW's 11th Royal Road Tournament.
