Well, if you didn't know, now you will. Chris Jericho himself just signed a contract with AEW along with PAC! This is actually pretty good! Figured I would make this thread before someone else got to it.
What do you think?

I'm definitely intrigued. With the financial backing they have I'd say AEW has a good chance of replacing ROH as the go to promotion for indy/Japan/Mexico wrestlers where they can actually do some exciting stuff.

I would like to see it live up to the potential with how many names are linked and being linked to it. If they can do the inconceivable and run a promotion that doesn't devolve into political drama then it might just turn into something great. If they become the place where people want to work because they'll get a fair shake both as a performer and employee then they'll be set for a while.

This is going to end badly.. After watching the rally and hearing what Khan has said it just stinks. His words on health care for the guys
(it's only the people in executive role that have those deals with benefits) I.e the bucks and Cody(also guessing Jericho and maybe page )
equal pay (ha yeah ok mjf and Britt baker are on y2j money) don't think so some how
I give them 2-3 years max then cracks will def show if not then then sooner
I hope I'm wrong but i really don't see this ending well give it time and you'll see once khans start losing money and they will lose a lot of it then his hobby will be just that a hobby not a business adventure Also bucks and Cody coming across like the new nwo and looking after themselves and there friends. Not that I blame them if they found someone stupider enough to pay em then fair play
TNA 2.0

Khan has already put up 100 million on the project, is a life long wrestling fan, and from what I've read realizes they likely won't make a profit off the bat.
Not sure where you got the clarification on healthcare- do you have an actual quote? Everything I've seen is they are trying to get wrestlers healthcare- not just execs.
I'm not saying this is a slam dunk win, or that it wont fizzle out, but promising healthcare and equal pay seems like a weird reason to assume failure.

its a pet project for his son that's the wrestling fan... Read what he said at the rally they are all being very shady with what they are saying to the fans then to the press. Khan said himself it's only the guys in the executive roles that have the deals with benefits

When they said "equal pay", they 100% did not mean undercarders would get paid the same as main eventers, they meant that women would not get paid significantly less than men, like in other companies.

Yeah the equal pay was taken out of context so badly that Brandi went out and tweeted a freaking clarification.
The idea is two opening carders, one male and one female, would be paid the same, etc.
They're trying to say that they wont pay John Cena/Reigns/Brock $2mil while only paying Charlotte/Becky $500k, despite the girls equally being the centerpieces of their division.
Realistically, it's still a small bluff (especially if they out-bid WWE for Kenny), but cant discredit steps being taken.

I'm just really excited to see where all of this is headed. I wanna see what Cody and the rest of AEW, has to offer the pro wrestling community. I think it's going to an interesting time to be a wrestling fan in the near future. :)

I don't know if I will follow the company yet but it can't be worse than WWE and I am happy that wrestlers have an alternative to move to or use for leverage for a better deal - especially in the women's division where there was really no where that compares to WWE.

Thanks Senator, I'd not really left but I don't play Fire Pro much these days so I've not been very involved on the board. A mix of a few things have put it on the back burner bit I'll continue to check in here.

I'm interested in the partnership with OWE considering CIMA is frickin' awesome, otherwise I don't particularly care.

Healthcare for wrestlers! This is awesome and will not be abused at all because wrestlers never... EEEEVER... scam the system.
