Kenny Omega has officially joined AEW. Not surprising since he was pretty much the first name mentioned to join them when the company was announced but any number of things could have happened between then and now. Their starting roster is pretty well set imo.
They've also signed a handful of female talents, most notably Aja Kong. (Nyla Rose, Yuka Sakazaki, and Kylie Rae are the others) I don't know of it will be a longterm thing but they're signed on for the May PPV and that's cool.

I've kinda been sleeping on this as I haven't followed any wrestling in the west in literally two decades. I keep getting AEW updates on my twitter feed and with the roster they've been accumulating I am definitely interested in at least checking it out. If it gets too mic heavy or they start doing skits, I'll drop it in a piss soaked New York minute though.

Healthcare for wrestlers! This is awesome and will not be abused at all because wrestlers never... EEEEVER... scam the system. I mean, so what? Plus, it's only a select few that are getting healthcare, it seems. People should get healthcare and the fraction of the people that abuse the system would be abusing it for what? Getting treatment that they need? I don't see the point here. Cody seemed to be talking about organizing and healthcare for the workers until someone informed him that he was more or less talking about UNIONS and mildly socialist ideas, where he then walked the whole thing back.

Literally the only reason I remotely care about AEW at all.
I don't expect the marks to know who CIMA is though. They didn't even know who Aja Kong is.

I hate how obsessive the wrestling community is with defining success because according to every forum, website, “news” feed and twitter user if AEW doesn’t have a constant stream of 5 star matches, better TV ratings and larger crowds than WWE then it’s a failure.
AEW is already destined to fail because modern fans need so much to be satisfied rather than just enjoying what is presented to them.
Also WWE has produced the worst TV wrestling for 18 years straight and it impacts nothing as people still watch it in droves. Yet the moment AEW comes along the goals of success are very suddenly shifted.

WWE has become the Saturday night live of wrestling, resting on its laurels and nostalgia but churning out dry white toast mediocrity. They crush their competition not with superior product and matches, but with media saturation, roster raiding whether they’ll use the wrestler or not, and their massive piles of cash. I don’t blame wrestlers for wanting to be in the big show and make big money, but I don’t agree with their approach to the product, and I just don’t understand or enjoy their product any more. More competition is always a good thing, but yeah, I think the fans’ expectations will exceed the capacity of a new promotion with a small but talent laden roster. I feel for Indy wrestlers, it seems like they constantly feel like they have to one up the biggest thing done and are shortening their careers and sacrificing story and character empathy/heel heat building for fans’ insatiable need for a spot fest. Huge cost paid to compete for ten seconds of flighty fan attention. The expectations of fans seem to be approaching unattainable, so as good as the intentions of AEW are, they have a huge climb in front of them. Hopefully the backers will think long game, but if those ratings and the social media support aren’t there, I can’t see investors continuing to throw money into the toilet. I hope they do well, I’d love to see pro wrestling continue to make a comeback, “sports entertainment” is not for me.

Double or Nothing
Nice to see Awesome Kong make a surprise appearance! I legit marked like a kid when she walked out lol. Not sure if it was a one-off thing but it was really great to see her. The staredown with her and the near equally large Nyla Rose was great [\spoiler]
also
Cody vs Dustin was an epic that got kind of scary with the sheer amount of blood that Dustin was leaking. It certainly added to the already amazing narrative and really did their late father great tribute with it but yeah, that was Eddie Guerrero levels of overdoing it. Brilliant damn match though. Dustin showing once again why he's one of the best workers ever (imo). [\spoiler]

I know in this digital streaming age it most likely wont ever happen but I really hope these two AEW shows end up on official Blu Rays.

DON was a great show. Exciting times for wrestling in the US. I really hope the buzz translates to TV viewers because it will freshen up the business to have guys swapping between major promotions.

First wrestling PPV I ever purchased (at least that I can remember) - was NOT disappointed. They have a fan in me (classic lapsed WWE fan) - great event.
