Every few months I seem to develop a new and interesting chronic pain. Last year for about six months my elbow joints, especially my right elbow ached constantly and my right elbow actually gave me trouble lifting things. Then overnight the pain completely went away, although the pain in the right elbow moved up to the right shoulder and I've had it for at least four months now and it's slowly starting to subside.
I suspect bench pressing 300lbs may have caused rotator damage in my right shoulder because I can actually hear scraping when I bench that much. So benching that much anymore is over. I won't go over 200lbs now and I may even drop that down to 100lbs if it continues giving me shoulder problems. I also may have experienced my first pinched nerve as I will once in a while get a strange feeling shooting through the right side of my neck.
I watched a video about Ronnie Coleman and he's all gimped up from the years of power lifting prematurely wearing out all his joints so I think it is something similar to that. The worst is trying to sleep when something is aching. You just can't. A lot of people at work when they go to break, set their alarms on their phones for 15 or 30 minutes and will sleep through all their breaks. Sometimes I do that, sometimes I just take some caffeine pills.
Fortunately knees are still perfect because I refuse to do any jogging. I walk 6 to 12 miles a day depending on work schedule and I use my spin cycle in place of running.
Back has had osteoarthritis in it for years now, but everyone after thirty starts getting that. Mine has been compounded a bit since I've been doing heavy physical labor since I was 13. My doctor says my back is about five years older than I am due to all the wear and tear. Usually it's not a big problem since I am used to the pain by now, but after a shift, if I am going to do anything after work, I have to do it right away, because as soon as I rest, my back stiffens up almost to the point of paralysis.
