I wonder if Cody will get this treatment when he goes to WWE? He won't get the same treatment cause they will give him smaller polka dots š I put absolutely nothing past the legendary pettiness and vindictiveness of Vince. Cesaro/Claudio leaving was a welcome surprise. An absolute workhorse that could've been one of their biggest stars but of course they dropped the ball with him. He's going to be huge wherever he shows up. I'm honestly surprised Ricochet is still there. Poor bastard. I'm glad he's leaving but wish he would have done it a long time ago. He was completely wasted there. And it's clear once Vince marks someone as "a good hand" at best, that he actively works to keep them like that. And that means burying them even when the fans love them. See: Christian in 2005 when his crowd reactions were better than John Cena's and Vince actively de-pushed and de-emphasized him. I always talk about how Regal should have been a main eventer but Christian could have been too. Same with Cesaro. But if you don't have exactly what Vince is looking for, he condemns you for it. Daniel Bryan was an aberration that fans thought could continue with other wrestlers. I hope Cesaro turns up in AEW as a wrestler and Regal turns up in AEW as a personality/manager. I just want him to end his career on his terms in a place that would truly appreciate him.

Cody did a pretty good job of cementing his legend last night.
Not the best match I've ever seen, but probably the gutsiest performance I've ever seen. Cody is certifiably insane, but god damn that was compelling to watch. All credit to Seth Rollins too for managing to work with Cody under the circumstances and produce a memorable main event.
Cody is pretty much the biggest babyface ever now.

Vince McMahon retired, pretty shocking news. End of an era, for better or worse.

Never thought I'd see the day where WWE would be run without Vince McMahon. But, time catches up to all of us.
Even without Vince around, I doubt the WWE will be returning to the attitude era any time soon. Lewd behaviour and adult situations are bad for sponsorships.

Couldn't care less that Vince is gone. They're gonna have to do *a lot* to get me to care again.

absolutely. Vince's retirement is step one on a long road of recovery for WWE.

I have to admit, I'm skeptical about Vinny Mac being gone.
Sure, he stepped down from the public office of CEO, but who's to say he isn't in the back yelling into headsets?
At any rate, I have gotten back into watching WWE. I expect Reigns to win, but I honestly want Brock to win. Smiling Brock makes me smile.

Financial irregularities in publicly traded corporations is no joke. Once you start fucking with the government's money, there's no playing around.
Nick Khan will absolutely be the one to say that Vince isn't allowed at TV tapings or backstage anywhere. Now, that's not to say he won't be privately expressing his opinions to HHH (his son in law, after all)....but Vince wont be allowed near TV. No tearing up scripts 5 minutes before a show and no yelling at the announcers through headsets. That era is over.

If the people who stand to make a substantial profit still have any true control, they should put a pretty bow on whatās left of that company and sell it before itās worthless.
Iād love to see it become a wrestling promotion again, but I think those days are long gone. It has become its own thing, not sure what it is anymore, I know it has a huge audience screaming shut up and take my money, but try as I might, I canāt get into it any more.
Itās odd to think it might be gone soon, I donāt follow it at all, but Iād miss it for some reason. Kinda like a shitty relationship I guess, glad to be out of it, but you still have the good memories and wouldnāt wish ill on the person, even if they did lose their minds, devour any and all competition, and end up influencing every other potential partner to mimic them for the rest of time.
It will be interesting to see how things play out, but I can see Vince still harassing his family and anyone he has influence over to keep things going his way.

I know it won't happen, but I would like to see all the defunct federations they own brought back and maybe a few new ones. They would all be owned by wwe but each one would be put back in their old territory ,including wwe, and given a booker to run it. The new feds and nxt would used to fill n spots the other feds don't cover. The bookers could run it as they see fit and as long as they are making a profit the higher ups should leave them alone. I think at this point it might be the only way for wrestling to be good again. Either that or wwe goes under and smaller feds are able to rise up.

I have barely watched much wwe I'm the last few years because 99% of it isn't for me but I have my favorites I still keep track of (Owens makes the worst ideas work and when they give him a good one it turns out great.)
I know they're ratings haven't really been growing in the us recently but they are a huge global company that is no where near going away. I think Vince being gone and not being able to have the final word on creative has more people curious about where they might go from here. So all this talk of them disappearing soon is not gonna happen. Wrestling audience is much wider than it used to be so the interest what wrestling is is different than it was 30 or 40 years ago.

I read something interesting the other day...It said that 20 years ago, WWE got about 67% of their revenue directly from fans....selling tickets to events and merch, etc while only 33% of their revenue came from their TV deals and ad revenue. Today, only about 20% of the revenue comes from the fans and 80% from their TV deals and ad revenue.
Point being, WWE is absolutely too big to fail. Even if their product sucks and gates are down, they will keep making millions and millions of dollars. It's taken them 40 years to cement this stability. The idea that they would split up their company into dozens of little regional promotions again is just not realistic, IMO.
The flip side of that is even if the company is white hot and selling out every show they put on, their revenue isn't really going to go up that much.
Sooooo, ultimately what HHH does with the book is kind of irrelevant as far as corporate is concerned. They may want him not to rock the boat too much and risk scaring off investors...the company is making huge bank and may not want HHH to upset the apple cart. Of course even if HHH does actually improve the quality of the shows and fans are happy, the overall effect to the bottom line will likely be negligible. Nick Khan does not give a single fuck about the quality of shows, he just wants the money to keep rolling in.
Still, hopeful optimism. The HHH era has been pretty good so far.

I'm already seeing Triple H's effects on RAW and Smackdown. As I used to watch NXT when he ran it and enjoyed most of it, I see it as a positive.

Came across this image from raw. Not sure who that svelte fella is in the Charlie Brown pumpkin king costume, but someone needs to make an edit of him in FPW asap! š
