I don’t even watch WWE and my Twitter timeline is full of news that a large chunk of the current roster has been “future endeavoured” in order to save money when WWE is reporting a 250 million quarterly profit. Something going on behind the scenes.

No idea why firing talent and long time management level employees has anything to do with that but who knows.

The talent they let go were either talent they never really used it talent they just didn't have anything for anymore

I've been of the opinion that WWE had too many people to use for a few years but I didn't think "cutting 60 people in a calendar year" was what was needed. That's just nuts. Even moreso when you consider the contracts they give their "special attractions" like Lesnar and Goldberg.

They've been hoarding talent for a few years now for sure and you can see it by the multiple mass cuts over the past year+. Hopefully all the talent finds good work now and are used well.

The latest from the rumor mill is that Shane McMahon is gone from WWE. Wild if true.

I actually watched the Royal Rumble as I have Peacock and it was on a Sat. night. Due to teaching I do not stay up late school nights. There were moments I enjoyed, mainly from the Woman's Rumble.
I won't be watching the TV programming, but I may start watching the "premium live events" if they are on Sat nights or on the Sunday of a long weekend.
I think WWE are gearing up for a change of ownership, hence all the cuts.

I actually went to the Royal Rumble last week. It was a lot of fun to be there in person. The crowd was actually really into it, despite not really being that great of a show. Lot's of dumb booking but that's par for the course. The Women's Rumble match was probably the best actual match in terms of being interesting and having a reasonable (if still predictable) finish. The mixed tag match was better than it had any right to be and was the best "traditional" match on the card. A couple of other matches started well but were absolutely ruined by shenanigan finishes to advance "storylines" that have been going on for entirely too long.
If I hadn't been there in person, I'd have been pretty disappointed overall (specifically, the main event men's rumble has to be one of the worst in recent memory, though a couple of the younger/newer guys got to show off a bit and I liked that for the every brief moments that they lasted).
I've always wanted to see a Major WWE PPV in person and I'm glad that I now have but I doubt I'll be seeing another. The whole thing just felt half assed.

That sounds cool, royal rumble would be a sweet one to check out, one of the OG ppvs, too bad it wasn’t crazy memorable or more entertaining for you. Still, sounds like a cool experience! I got to do a live WWF (wwe?) PPV event here in 2004, Backlash. I got the tickets for free from a friend, he had a last minute emergency and had to leave the city, so me and two friends got to check it out. We weren’t on the floor, but we had great seats, first row of the upper deck with a great view of everything. I remember thinking the card was decent, but with how things are now, the backlash card was pretty amazing. I got to see the NAAAY-CHUR BOOOOAY himself, WOOOO! Ric Flair’s “wooooo!”s were loud and clear, and those CHOPS!… Shelton Benjamin was Flairs opponent, I can’t believe these guys were curtain jerking! You could feel the heat of Kane’s pyro from the balcony, and seeing Cactus Jack in action, even though he was definitely slowed down by that point, was pretty sweet, the match with Randy Orton, who I’ve never understood the appeal of, was a bit of a stinker, but orton isn’t really made for garbage matches. The main event featuring Benoit, HHH, and Shawn Michaels was pretty crazy. HHH was ENORMOUS, he looks huge on TV, but when you see him in person coming down that aisle, you got a real sense of how massive he was. Then there was Michaels, I respect his matches, but I’ve never really been a fan, but man, that guy had a special connection with the crowd, you can’t help but get swept up in it, it’s the damnedest thing. Try as you might to not like him, he controlled the crowd like a bunch of marionettes! He stole the show, I became a fan very quickly. Benoit’s chops were ridiculously loud, I know the ring was mic’d, but they were still crazy loud. Those guys know (knew?) how to put on a show, and a PPV is fun because you can always go back and check it out and say “I was THERE!”. I don’t even know if 2004 backlash is on peacock or not anymore since Benoit has been totally expunged from WWE’s history books. Here’s a summary of the card www.thesmackdownhotel.com/events-results/ppv-special/wwe-backlash-2004

Well WWE has been showing vignettes that he's been coming since October 25th.
Either the guy has no idea how to get on WWE programming or he's a chronic masturbator. Maybe both.
I think he needs help regardless.

I wonder if Cody will get this treatment when he goes to WWE?

I put absolutely nothing past the legendary pettiness and vindictiveness of Vince.
Cesaro/Claudio leaving was a welcome surprise. An absolute workhorse that could've been one of their biggest stars but of course they dropped the ball with him. He's going to be huge wherever he shows up.
I'm honestly surprised Ricochet is still there. Poor bastard.
