I can't wait, looks incredible. This, exactly. I really want to see how the hand to hand fighting has improved, it wasn't awful in RDR1, but there's a lot of room for growth there.

As much as I loved the single player story in RDR1, I'm curious about how online looks this time around. If it's similar to GTA V, could be pretty amazing.

I think I'm gonna avoid multiplayer all together until I finish single player story and everything else I wanna do there. If for no other reason than to avoid location spoilers. I wanna experience each new patch of land as slow and majestically as I can. Plus I'm not into multiplayer in general anyway so not gonna be hard for me to stay away.

I don't plan to go multiplayer at all for a long while, if at all. Give me that sweet single player experience to wander around where the buffalo roam and take the world in at my own pace.

Very glad a thread for this was made and Wondy was the purveyor of these dangerous ideas. My reaction to the gameplay video: That is my mind right now. HOLY SHIT. I am living in the alternate reality where Red Dead 2 is actually being made and looks even better than 8 years of non-stop expectations and love for Red Dead 1. I can't even do this trailer justice by Geese posting every split second. It just took me 30 minutes to watch 6 minutes of video. This game is a revelation. We are in heaven, not purgatory my NPC friend with a camera. This looks transcendent. Leave the mortal plane with me and ascend into Brittlebrush Trawl. I really want to see how the hand to hand fighting has improved, it wasn't awful in RDR1, but there's a lot of room for growth there. 100% this. I love Red Dead and brawling was really fun when I first started playing it. Then I played Sleeping Dogs. It rendered melee fighting in Red Dead (and eventually GTA 5) lifeless to me. However, Red Dead had something Sleeping Dogs didn't and that was the lasso. So I REALLY hope the lasso returns and that Red Dead 2 has updated and deeper melee fighting. Sleeping Dog's grapple/drag ability was excellent and I'd love being able to grapple and drag someone...then throw them in front of a moving train. FOR SCIENCE. 3:51 in the trailer looks like we can tackle from behind AND set up a mount/grapple. Wow! :51 in the trailer makes it seem like a "grab and throw" animation is possible!! I don't know if that is similar to the "push" move in Red Dead 1 or a separate move. It's not clear if that is just one animation (with very little time in between the grab and toss) or two separate animations. I'm hoping it's two separate animations and that we're able to grab someone by the neck then walk with them before pushing them back. All I seem to want is the R Trigger headlock in Red Dead, LOL. Me too. I want to get as much out of the single player experience as I can and play this at my own (very, very slow) pace before I jump into multiplayer. I want to till the land, I want it to till me. I'll eventually play multiplayer but I don't think I'll be there as much as I was for Red Dead 1 or as early either. I can see playing this just by my lonesome for 3-6 months before I share saddles. Hopefully I don't have NAT 3 issues this time when I do decide to go on

If GTA:O taught me anything it's that a shallow and vapid, stripped down version of the SP experience will not only wait for you but will ALWAYS be there.

Maybe the online will be better since people won't have super accurate explosives and flying vehicles. But I don't care about the online.
I am ready for a nice single player game like this. I haven't played through a game since Fallout 4.

What edition you guys planning to get? The tiers above standard don't seem to offer up enough to justify the extra $20 per bump... But I might just end up being enough of a sucker to get the Ultimate Edition, if I know me and my deep and abiding love for this game, and impulisivity and completion-whoreitude...
Also, I can't decide on whether to go digital download or physical copy. The four PS4 games I have so far I got physical, some cause were cheaper at GameStop or used or whatever. Some old man part of me still thinks it prefers physical, for some reason. Especially for this game. But that's dumb, right? Why get up and change ancient discs when you can just scroll and launch...

I'm getting physical version. Same with Fire Pro. I don't really trust the digital downloads being available forever. Even though I don't really see this being an issue, I still prefer physical copies. I just wish I could load them into the system and not need the physical copy to play. This is why I love my modded ps3. Now I don't have to leave couch to switch games.
