DRAGONSUPLEX Dojo Vol 31

After the pre-show match which featured Bubba Monroe, we had six-man tax action where Irwin Rayne caught Grease Monkey with his deadly Dragon Sleeper to get the win for his team, while Jim Fresno and Jerome Albus would take out Lucy Morgenstern and Brian Storm thanks to the move Jim Fresno utilized so well last month, the diving splash.

Gal Friday ran into a brick wall named Body Count IV who displatched her with the Closed Casket Driver; while in a prolonged battle John Carlton would use multiple side backdrops on Indiana Frost only to get hit with the Double Tap for the three count. Tyler Morgan looked strong against RIchard Lyon until being caught with Hear Me Roar to end his night on a sour note.

Donnie Xi and Scott Saphyre defended their Interim Varsity Tag gold in a technical battle against Antonio Smooth and Arctic Knight, ending with Scott catching the veteran with the Proto Lock for the submission. The Cheese Goblin was on the back foot for most of his match with Corey O'Brian but managed to rally back and last nearly 25 minutes, only falling when attempting "Gouda Night" (Choke Sleeper) and getting it reversed into The 42. Finally the Head of Class bout went in a way nobody expected as Kellie Shark was wild out of the gate, nearly getting wins with the "Hammerhead" (Pedigree) and the "Sharknado" (Rolling Tiger Knee). Barnes made a comeback but after two consecutive Sharknadoes, he was thrown into the corner and planted with the Jawsome Bomb to end the night with a new Head of Class.

After an opening bout featuring The Texas Reaper; we had six-man tag action where Psycho Killer would get the win for his team by submitting Bryan Storm, while Gal Friday and Jerome Albus would knock off Lucy Morgenstern and Irwin Rayne thanks to a frog splash from Albus. In a thrilling mat-based battle Antonio Smooth would escape a Jim Fresno figure four only to get caught in a school boy for the pin.

Tyler Morgan would go back and forth with John Carlton until he tripped up Carlton and in a flash caught him in the STF for the submission. Indiana Frost looked to fell the much larger Body Count IV but was knocked out by the Red Asphalt for the pinfall. Meanwhile Johnny Jones would go one on one with the legendary Corey O' Brian and it took a moonsault for O'Brian to get the three count after nearly 25 minutes of action.

The Varsity Tag Team Championship titles have finally changed hands as Interim Tag champions the Third Wave of Reality knocked off Kerry Barnes and Jake Wilde after Donnie Xi caught Kerry Barnes with the Xineohp Press for the three count. Finally it was head of class action as Richard Lyon looked to knock off the newly crowned champion Kellie Shark, but the always popular champion would use a dragon suplex to set up the Sharknado knee to catch a win to retain!

After Wrecker Jr crushed Willy Jakes, Irwin Rayne would pick up the win for his team in the opener pinning Bryan Storm with the Hex Splash. Grease Monkey would catch Psycho Killer with the Dragon Suplex Hold to get a win for his tag team, while Gal Friday caught Antonio Smooth with a Super Kick to score a singles win.

John Carlton looked strong in a bout vs Jerome Albus, surviving a bite to hit the vampire with a Shadow Kick for the three count, where in a brawler vs mat technician due Indiana Frost caught Tyler Morgan with a Frog Splash for a three count. Varsity Tag Champs Third Wave of Reality would knock off Jim Fresno and Sergio Kontos in a tag team clinic, Saphyre pinning Kontos with the Splash Woman Press while Donnie Xi cut Fresno off from the save with a Shining Axe Kick.

Jimmy The Razor held his own against Corey O'Brian for nearly twenty minutes of intensity but when he went for "Schrodinger's Cat Is Dead" (Tornado Piledriver) Corey moved out of the way and used a flurry of Shoteis to follow up with the Core Meltdown and a pin. Body Count IV would live up to his "Legacy of Mayhem" moniker in the Head of Class challenge against Kellie Shark, delivering serious damage on the floor with a chokeslam and a "Body Bag Bomb" (Towerhacker Bomb) and working over Shark's leg with the "Toe Tag" (Grapevine Toehold). But after a corner-assisted chokeslam Body Count would go for "Red Asphalt" (Running Lariat) but Shark hit a flurry of kicks to set up the Amity Island Surfboard for the submission.

After a warmup match featuring The Beer Guy, we had six-man tag action where Morgan Andrews got the fall over Richard Lyon, and then in the tag team match Irwin Rayne caught Billy Gruff with a rollup to climb the ranks. Lucy Morgenstern pinned Jerome Albus with a tornado DDT and Grease Monkey caught Jim Fresno via Dragon Suplex

Gal Friday did her best to fight off Tyler Morgan's technical wrestling but fell to a double stomp. The Third Wave of Reality are now triple champions but nobody told their challengers Victor Louis Halberd and John Carlton, who earned themselves a Varsity Tag Team title match (and possibly a SFU South Florida Tag title match to boot) when VLH used his dynamic "Sudden Stop At The End". Wrecker Jr brought his brand of physicality to Corey O'Brian but Corey kicked out of "Homewrecker" (TKO Stunner) and "Get Wreck't" (Front Powerslam) but Corey answered with the one and only Coreytine Legdrop followed by a Sharpshooter for the submission.

Last but by no means least it was Head of Class between two women for the first time in recent memory as Kellie Shark went up against the upcomer Indiana Frost. It was a physical brawl with Shark hitting the "Sharknado" (Discus Tiger Knee) only for Frost to answer with her "Frostbite" (Double Knee Facebuster) immediately after. They would continue to trade their most hard hitting offense but in the end it was a surprise jackknife hold by Kellie Shark that ended the match with a standing ovation. Shark has been a longtime fan favorite in DRAGONSUPLEX Dojo and it looks like Indiana Frost has won over a lot of doubters even in defeat.

After a brutal showing by Skullbuster and The Ravager of Raiders of The Wasteland, we had Indiana Frost smashing Bryan Storm via Ten Dollar Tooth Removal, and Jerome Albus getting the win for his team with a Dragon Suplex. In a technical duel Jim Fresno bested a game Antonio Smooth with a brainbuster, while technique beat speed as Irwin Rayne caught Gal Friday in a pinning combination.

In an intense back and forth encounter Lucy Morgenstern planted Grease Monkey with The Seventh Seal, making a strong showing in her campaign to be the next Head of Class. For the Varsity Tag Titles the Third Wave of Reality rematched against John Carlton and Victor Louis Halberd, the match being back and forth and with VLH throwing Saphyre out of the ring harshly multiple times throughout. VLH went for his "Sudden Stop At The End" Tombstone with John Carlton getting a blind tag, Scott Saphyre managed to slip out from behind only to get caught with a Shadow Kick and a three count.

"Razor Sharp" by Collide, a rather ethereal song for a pro wrestling entrance, signalled the debut of "Cold Blooded" Kimberly Sabre who looked to show what she could do against her mentor Corey O'Brian. Sabre not only showed she had technical skill but also precision strikes and the ability to hit high flying moves from multiple angles. Sabre nearly got the win with a DDT and her favorite move, the Release Tiger Driver, but when she went for a second Release Tiger Driver Corey counted the arm hooks to get in position for the Core Meltdown to get the pinfall.

Finally we had Head of Class action as Tyler Morgan going up against the fan favorite Kellie Shark. Shark kept to the gameplan that got her there even catching TM with a "Hammerhead" (Pedigree) for a nearfall, but TM responded by going after the knee of Kellie Shark like a... well, shark, taking all the momentum away from the champion. Kellie tried to use her good leg to set up "Sharknado" (Discus Tiger Knee) but Morgan evaded it, hitting a double stomp on the injured knee to set up his signature STF for the submission. With new champions in DRAGONSUPLEX Dojo, and rumors of talent being signed to other promotions, it looks like the landscape has changed drastically overnight.

After the Kelley Brothers made a warm-up appearance, we had the first round of the Cram Session, Lucy Morgenstern getting the win for her block's team and Gal Friday getting it for the other side's semifinal to be set. The Crossover Classic winner's bracket match was up in a hard hitting affair where Alena Sturmbjor managed to upset William King via the Warhammer, albeit with some controversy as King accidetally collided into referee Matt Weston but caught Alena in a Cthulhu Clutch, Alena being out but King had to release the hold to try to revive Weston allowing Alena to recover allowing her to regain momentum. But remember, the Crossover Classic is double elimination, so King may yet have his revenge.

Kimerly Sabre would advance to the finals in dramatic fashion hitting her favorite move, the Release Tiger Driver, off the top rope; Meanwhile Mike Marino would make Body Count IV pass out in a mounted triangle to fill the bracket. In the losers bracket of the Crossover Classic, Freddy Newman ued his size to try to wear down Bonnie Blair but the billionaire heiress caught him in a jackknife cover to keep alive in the tournament. Victor Louis Halberd would face off against the legendary Corey O'Brian, rocking O'Brian several times with his famous Knee Trembler, but when he went for a release German, Corey would use wrist control to counter into a Kimura, and when VLH spun out to escape Corey caught him around the waist and spiked him with the Core Meltdown for the pin.

In a thrilling contest Kimberly Sabre and Mike Marino went back and forth, but it was the armwork of Mike Marino that allowed him to get the win, escaping an attempt at a Release Tiger Driver to set up the Stage Dive to shoot up to the top of the rankings. Finally it was the Head of Class showdown and the stoic Thomas Morgan looked to retain by keeping it grounded but couldn't get his deadly STF fully applied. John Carlton would endure the surgical assault of Morgan, using a 450 and a series of kicks to set up his Shadow Kick, securing the win and becoming the second individual to hold the Head of Class and Varsity Tag championships at the same time. Carlton raised both of his belts in the air to end the show and a wonderful 2023 for DRAGONSUPLEX Dojo.
