Holding L1+L2 when selecting the difficulty and number of rival promotions will disable the cap of starting with 6 wrestlers.
Matsumoto gave this to Taichi as a cheat code.
Make of this design choice what you will but at least it only took a day to get out there.

however you still only start with 200k...so unless theres a money cheat....

It works.  The amount of money also seems to auto-adjust (in Easy mode, at least, which id picked to test out cuz it already gives you a lot) to ensure you can actually run the promotion and yknow, book for fun. |

Taichi’s “start screen” has over a billion yen My game hates me, it's giving other people at least 10,000. maybe I didn't dos something right, or maybe it adjusts after you add more people. I only added 2 to test it. |

It works with a pad on PC. Not sure what key would be L2 on PC tho.
It also seemed to increase my starting money on easy to 10,000K.

So now that you can actually arrange a dream roster it seems one of the many issues with the mode has been resolved. I knew there were some secrets there!

Now if only I can use the rings I made, and the match making and belt use was a bit more liberal, I might un-refund it. It seems like this 'cheat code' was a New Game+ type of thing.

I'm guessing because they wanted people to experience the game mode as intended before taking the chains off. Just spitballing but maybe japanese fans prefer a linear challenge over open sandbox type stuff? |
