I just heard audio of this recently and had to look for a video clip. Awesome interview featuring the Freedom Fighters (these two goons look familiar? 🙂) and a run in by a new favourite of mine, a very country Phil Hickerson! Enjoy!

Anybody been watching the Ring of Honor reboot, Pure Championship Tournament? First bit of wrestling that's got me excited since I was a kid probably. 2 weeks and 4 matches in so far, loving every bit of it and looking forward to more and where ROH goes with this.

That sounds cool, thanks for the heads up! I though ROH went tits up, they just seemed to disappear. I will have to look into the tournament! 🙂

Yeah I don't think they'd produced anything for a while, and this came outta nowhere to me. You should still be able to catch last week's full match online somewhere, I watched it on the Ring of Honor app on my tv. But the first week's show isn't available anymore unless you subscribe to some service. The highlights on youtube are still worth a watch, but if you can find the full show it's pretty great how they did the packages and present the whole thing.

I guess it's nice for somebody like Wheeler YUTA to get more "name" recognition.

That is so beautiful 😭 That rolling heel hook is so smooth and the way he uses his leg to kick the opponent's other leg out to set up the submission is so great. BakFu gonna like this 😎

I've knocked out twelve STARDOM shows, the final hour and a half of Big Egg '94 and Akira Hokuto's ASSEMBLE Vol. 2 show in a week. That's approximately 30 hours of wrestling in total. I also want to pick up TJPW at the start of next month.
AAA isn't running consistent shows and I'm completely uninterested in WWE, AEW, and any other major or indie US promotions. Everything is so similar that I've focused on joshi promotions almost exclusively, especially in the last year or so. I've had barely a passing interest in the men's promotions. I couldn't tell you what's going on with NJPW, and even less with AJPW and NOAH.
Apparently Megumi Kudo is coming out of retirement for a one off FMW exhibition. I wish I could find where I read that.

BakFu gonna like this 😎 I remember the first time I saw this clip WAAAY back, I never get tired of it! This sambo demo was so fun, they never do stuff like this anymore but it’s so slick and cool! Volk Han (real name Magomedkhan Amanulayevich Gamzatkhanov, imagine the poor announcers trying to get that name out! Another beast from Dagestan!) was always fun to watch! Just as a side note, the headlock defence may or may not be incredibly effective and equally dangerous for the person applying the headlock... 🤐 Oh, the headlock one isn’t in the gif! I love this move!

I really want more demonstrations like this! I can't stop watching the move where he catches the opponent's leg and then falls while using his own leg to take out the opponent's other leg. That is so smooth and quick that I had to watch it a few times just to even understand what was happening!!
Also, I didn't realize that Volk Han wasn't his actual name!
He can literally beat most people before they finish saying his full name!! 😁

I know there’s a WWE thread here, but since it’s filled with complaints about the far reaching effects of bad promotion management and lack of direction, I wanted this to go somewhere isolated from all of the negativity surrounding that particular dumpster fire.
I kept hearing about the Dragunov vs WALTER match and finally checked it out. Ilya was a bit spastic at the start of the match, first time I’ve ever seen this guy in the ring or otherwise, but once they got going, this match reminded me what it was about pro wrestling that sucked me in so hard at one time. There was pacing, working a joint (Ilyas neck... jebus!), and it felt like a combat sport contest. Walter is amazing, and he really harkens back to what these guys looked and worked like back in the day. He looks like a giant next to Ilya, but Ilya works the match like he’s fighting someone way bigger than him which is a nice change from the norm! I really enjoyed this match, I don’t get the fake crowd noise, but I barely noticed it because THERE WAS SOMETHING WORTH WATCHING ON THE SCREEN! Please enjoy.
PS: I’d love to see Walter vs Kobashi or Misawa in their primes! 😳

Move creation wizards, ACTIVATE!
That’s an awesome looking back breaker! I always loved Lyger and Benoit’s backbreakers, they just looked so violent! This old one is great! Thank you for sharing!
