Didn't see a thread for news about people not associated with a particular organization so here we are! I think ANY wrestling news should be welcome here (even if it's for something that has its own thread like WWE, NJPW, AAA, etc) but it came from a "need" for a place to post things about smaller Indies, freelancers, startups, etc. Unfortunately, I start with a bit of sadder news: LuFisto is retiring m.facebook.com/notes/lufisto-professional-wrestler/i-knew-this-moment-would-come-eventually/2083365451719237/Definitely one of the toughest, most entertaining, and most endearing performers of my reckoning. Really sad day. I hope one of the bigger companies approaches her with an offer for some sort of backstage role. Not many women have had her longevity, experience, and passion for the business and she'd be nothing but a boon to working with them

So here I am with my thoughts of Lu... :P
She's always seemed like a good person in that she basically held out and stayed wrestling for this long for the sake of loving wrestling and for all the fans that loved her (and also that none of her contemporaries really say that she's any kind of a-hole or anything like that). So I hope she lives relatively well for the rest of her life going forward. Honestly, in that aspect, with all her injuries and wear and tear, she needs to shoot for 'two notches above Mick Foley' at minimum.

I hear NOAH is getting rid of the green rings now. I guess they are only going to use them on special occasions like anniversaries.

LuFisto retiring. NOAH going non-green. This is sad. I am sad.

I guess NOAH has had its last show with the green ring now. Why are they getting rid of the green ring?

So, this is the new logo of NOAH. Gone are the days of the ark.

Very modern, but I think it's an important step for the company to move out of Misawa's shadow.

Nothing wrong with change but that's a very boring redesign.

I don't have a problem with NOAH moving on, and a new logo is an excellent re-branding tactic. But if you have to replace what is for me the best designed logo of any promotion, I would hope that it's at least a tad more creative. The original told such a wonderful story about their history using very little. It managed to be professional and straightforward while also maintaining artistic value that made it stand out from so many other companies. I don't want to be mean, but they can do better.

This is a good watch.
I remember following this back in the 90's and was always pissed that they never really gave Barry Horowitz a shot up the card.

Just watched Tommy Dreamer vs RVD on Impact, I thought I was dreaming or something. I had no idea these guys are still active, but there they were! RVD is looking understandably older and a little thick around the middle, and Tommy, well, never a body guy, so he actually hasn’t changed much. Match started off slow, definitely some ring rust, and a bit too many high fives, but shit, even with the thicker middle, RVD can still move and fly. Five star splash finish had RVD cover more than half of the mat for the win, I couldn’t believe it! It wasn’t a five star match, and I really only watched out of curiosity, but for all of the miles and beatings those guys put on their bodies, they didn’t look bad and even put other current stuff I’ve tried to watch sadly to shame.
Notes: RVD can sell the SHIT out of a move! The Rolling Thunder has NEVER made any sense to me, especially with the chair. WTF is wrong with the crowd, chants of “we want blood” and “get the table”, that’s like chanting that shit at a bingo game at a seniors home, these guys have bled enough for christ’s sake! Commentary was shady, the guy who looks like a fifteen year old called RVD the winner before the ref finished the three count. Sabu saved the eee cee dub alum from a run in, his nose is HUGE and he’s stilll alive! Sweet!
