I didn't know where to post this but my son just watched his first pro wrestling match. He is five years old. The match: Taka Michinoku vs SHO. A little underwhelming, I know, but you gotta start somewhere, right?

A little underwhelming, I know, but you gotta start somewhere, right? Taka and Sasuke on some shitty wwf Saturday show back in the day got me back into wrestling and opened my eyes to the wonderful world of puroresu, so Taka is a good first stop imo. Watched impact very early this morning because a very small but demanding dictator needed to eat and wouldn’t sleep, I caught a match featuring LAX vs the Rascalz (much rascalier when spelled with a “z”!). I seriously thought I was watching a gymnastics meet. Super athletic teams, but Jebus, do you need to do eight flips prior to every action in the ring? Can you imagine if in your day to day life you had to do chain handsprings before taking a shit? Five or six backflips to get in line for the bus or a coffee? A pile of cartwheels to get the mail? Flips into a plancha through your stair rail to make toast? I like LAX, and these guys all put together some crazy athletic shit, but I have no idea what story they were trying to tell. Maybe it was that the cirque du soleil is in town? OT: wtf do these guys EAT?!? I can’t imagine what their caloric burn is per match!

Random question but does anyone know why a running knee to the midsection is called a kitchen sink?

Random question but does anyone know why a running knee to the midsection is called a kitchen sink? The old saying "hit them with everything but the kitchen sink.

I get where the name came from but like, does anyone know why that move in particular got the name, or at least who first called it as such?

I'm assuming it's playing off the adage as previously mentioned. Whoever innovated it or named it probably used it as the last ditch effort to defeat an opponent.

Has anyone here watched the new NWA Powerrr on youtube? I watched it yesterday, and I thought it was pretty damn good! :D Very nice to see a return to studio wrestling. It had an old school vibe to it that was just awesome to see in 2019. Can't wait to see the next episode! :)

I saw some highlights from it. I'm really glad we are getting all kinds of new ways to watch wrestling especially with raw and SmackDown looking like mostly garbage right now. Aew and NXT both had strong shows built in different ways. Aew feels more chaotic and it's fun not knowing what they are gonna do next while NXT is building solid solid stories with great wrestling and looks to do well for a long run. Aew having that mid 90s wcw feel it's great that nwa is throwing it back even further and it'll be fun to see what they do. Im curious what impact does once they get back on tv again some of their more recent stuff seemed pretty good.

I was listening to Jim Cornette’s podcast where he and Brian Last we’re comparing NXT, AEW, and the NWA show (wed night wars, haha!). The NWA one intrigued me enough to look for pics of the set, looks like the old one with the flags and all of that! They just need fat old guys with their arms crossed chain smoking, women with teased up hair and bangs screaming and fainting when the white meat baby faces get colour, and goofy little kids in Garfield sweaters hanging over the railings for a high five from the cool tag team, and the 80’s NWA set look will be complete! 🙂 It looks cool, and if it’s free to watch, I’ll have to check it out (Still haven’t seen NXT or AEW, not interested enough to cough up cash for shows).

Yeah dude, the NWA show is free on youtube. :) I haven't payed to watch any of the AEW shows since the first PPV. Seems like they're always available to download somewhere.

Thanks! It’s sad that it’s hard for me to believe that anyone is offering anything for free these days, especially when EVERYONE is starting a paid streaming service. This is great, can’t wait to check it out, thanks again! 🙂

It´s nice to see MISTEERRRRRRRRRRR ANDERSON back in the ring.... and Trevor Murdoch. IMO Trevor just fits perfectly with NWA.
