AEW Dynamite (silly name but I guess I'll get used to it) had its debut show tonight and it was pretty good. There were a couple of "meh" moments but they really did keep good energy throughout and some developments in the last 15 minutes of the show will ensure that there's more reason to tune in going forward than idle curiosity and/or spite of WWE.

The presentation is definitely first rate (no shiny curtain!) and yes there were a few silly moments but overall the action was great. That AEW Women's Championship match was nuts!
Hearing Schiavone and J.R. calling wrestling together after so long was pretty cool as well. Looking forward to next week!

It was a good show had a few hiccups which is understandable for 1st show. I do have one issue & i don't know if the rest of you see this. There is way too much playing to the crowd especially during the Page/Pac match. Pac was looking the crowd before every move. They need to pick up the pace a little bit because it got a little annoying.

Just downloaded the show, and was shocked and amazed to see Tony Schiavone on commentary :D I got goosebumps just from that.

That Janela/Omega main event is fantastic. Told a great story and had some of the most hardcore bumps I've seen on an American wrestling show in a long time. I like that DARK isn't treated like a B-show.

I like that DARK isn't treated like a B-show. The unsanctioned match thing is weird to me. It seems like its quality hardcore matches but the concept just leaves me with so many questions. I think as long as they keep it on dark I'll let it go. But yeah I like what they do with dark. It helps build for the hype for the main show and still has quality content |

I find it quite cathartic to hear Jim Ross being able to yell 'holy shit!' Must be nice to give commentary without Vince in your ear giving you a narrative of what to say.
So far NJPW and AEW are the only current promotions making me excited about wrestling again.

Update: I was listening to the Jim Cornette Experience this morning, and he and Brian Last were so confused about the video clip and omega’s entrance! They puzzled over it for a good five minutes, then Cornette commented on omega coming out as a “space alien or some kind of skull mask”. Funny stuff. JC then commented on the bucks coming out as karate kid, but Last corrected him and said they were Ken and Ryu. JC posed a question to last as to what Vince would have said if someone would have told him in the Attitude era that stone cold would be hitting the ring for the main event vs the rock dressed as super Mario. Interesting question. 🙂🍄
