Geese: This is some A+ narrative over mechanics stuff because Nishimura doesn't actually have a pin sequence for that piledriver (it's sequenced to a top-rope move) but even I, the dude who made him, freaked out there and briefly thought he was going to go for the pin. I see a ton of potential in the possibility of future Nishimura/Saji interactions now - something that frankly wasn't on my radar at all before this match.
and yes, I did in fact just turn 40 a few weeks ago - generally speaking the narrator voice I use in this thread is just a lightly fictionalized version of myself unless I'm specifically doing something else.

I've seen phantom pins happen before too (as well as priorities ignored) so I totally share in that freak out feeling. It really looked like Nishimura was about to pin him and Saji saved himself with a reversal. The fact he popped up and then hit a special of his own for the win was amazing. So much of this match looked like a scripted TV match and the finish was the icing on the cake! I see a ton of potential in the possibility of future Nishimura/Saji interactions now - something that frankly wasn't on my radar at all before this match. There's so much I love about e-fedding and roleplaying and this potential for emergent storytelling is a big factor. We turned a good potential booking into an intriguing and cemented long term rivalry/program with our promo and that match. and yes, I did in fact just turn 40 a few weeks ago - generally speaking the narrator voice I use in this thread is just a lightly fictionalized version of myself unless I'm specifically doing something else. Haha, yeah I had a feeling!! Happy Birthday!!!! The 40th is a big one and I hope you celebrated in style 🎂 😄🎈 And I know what that narrator meant about body resiliency taking a nose dive north of 40. These days I gotta stretch before writing a show LOL 😁

SWA returned from their post-Breakdown time off this weekend, and in addition to some great matches (SWA streaming subscription holders, check out the Murderer's Row vs. BHB 6-Woman Tag Match from 11/16!), we also got the block announcements for the Winter 2024/2025 Queen of SWA. I can already see some killer matches in these blocks. Akiko vs. Mizuki, Lina vs. Valkyrie, and Amita vs. Faridah, already stand out as matches I'm excited for. In my continued attempts to scale back and not overwork myself on SWA's big leagues, I'm going to try my best to not get TOO excited, though, and want to do detailed coverage of every night. That always ends up being more work than I anticipate, and the back-to-back of the Queen of SWA and World Open have killed my motivation dead some years. Look forward to block finals and of course the final of the whole tournament happening at Crescendo in January. Things to watch going into the league: - The Divine Imperium are thoroughly broken up at this point, and it's only through Carlos Ortega-Reyes' sheer force of personality that Akiko Shimizu and Mizuki Yoshinaga even manage to stay in the same faction together. Expect fireworks when they get in the ring with each other.
- Keep an eye on Lina. She hasn't been officially announced for the 12/13 OG-FPD Anniversary Show, but I have a strong feeling we'll see her there. Given comments she's made about wanting to scale her schedule back a bit over the last couple years, December could be a tough month for her.
- Some fans have already started calling B Block BRAWL BLOCK because of the number of hard-hitting strikers. Expect there to be some all-out fist fights in that block!
- Similarly, there are a lot of high-fliers in A Block, this year, leading some fans to dub it AIR BLOCK. Get ready to see some incredible feats of athleticism out of A Block!

Love the informal designation of AIR BLOCK and BRAWL BLOCK for this league 😎 Keep an eye on Lina. She hasn't been officially announced for the 12/13 OG-FPD Anniversary Show, but I have a strong feeling we'll see her there. Given comments she's made about wanting to scale her schedule back a bit over the last couple years, December could be a tough month for her. Something in the water at BHB causing Saji and Lina to not stop working 😁 Also, Jean will be formally announcing the OG-Joshi slate of matches for 12/13 soon!

While the Queen of SWA gets underway stateside, many of the men of the SWA roster will be headed to Japan in December, doing a three week tour that will end just before Christmas. Cards haven't been announced for that tour, but expect any currently active male members of the SWA roster who don't have other obligations to be there. Bobby Wilder has confirmed he'll be in a match at Yurakuen Hall on 12/21.
