Sierra Wrestling All-Stars (Hereafter SWA) is a Portland, Oregon-based wrestling promotion founded by "Buster" Bill Raymond and "Jamie" James Fushichou in 2000, following the breakup of the once-monolithic NorthWest Pro Wrestling (NWPW). Raymond, a member of the NWPW booking team, wanted to create a leaner, more focused wrestling promotion after watching NWPW dissolve into a sludge of overbooking. He found his money man in the enigmatic Fushichou. A young Japanese businessman from Kyoto, Fushichou owned a sizable fortune in the form of Fushichou Electronics, a company that produces semiconductor chips for use in appliances and mobile phones. Raymond and Fushichou operated SWA jointly until 2015, when failing health prompted Raymond to bequeath his interest in the company to former NWPW champion and SWA color commentator, Alex Morgainne. Unfortunately, it is impossible to discuss SWA without discussing the promotion's murky legal history. From its beginnings, SWA has been mired in controversy, including infamous legal entanglements with WWE and OrochiO's, Inc. Accusations of organized crime involvement have been leveled at the company time and again, going back to a 2009 incident involving one of ZIP Japan's wrestlers being assaulted by yakuza after making public comments critical of SWA and its ownership. This all came to a head in 2015, when James Fushichou publicly admitted that a great deal of SWA's funding since 2000 had come from Kyoto yakuza, with only a small portion actually being funded by Fushichou Electronics. Fushichou has since sworn to clear SWA of yakuza involvement, but critics remains skeptical. If he was willing to lie about yakuza involvement for 15 years, what other secrets might the mysterious James Fushichou be hiding? Who is James Fushichou, really? Why does no birth record exist for a James Fushichou in the Kyoto record books? Where is SWA's money coming from, if he is really and truly now clear of the yakuza? And just why is a prominent Japanese businessman so interested in an American independent wrestling promotion anyway? As time goes on, the mysteries just continue to mount, with few, if any, answers in sight. As of 2018, Alex Morgainne is very much the public face of SWA, while James Fushichou is content to remain in the background, handling the business end of things and making only occasional appearances. Morgainne has maintained SWA's founding philosophy of equal opportunity for men and women of all weight classes, including the official renames of the flagship SWA Openweight Championship and SWA Joshi Championship, emphasizing their equal prestige within the promotion. SWA is a group of edits and characters that I've been working on with my girlfriend since about 2007 or so. It is an inconsistently-updated beast that we dabble in whenever we feel like it, and I make no specific guarantees of shows, releases, or putting effort into this thread with any kind of regularity. It will, like SWA itself, be updated when I feel like it. SWA's edits can be found on Steam under my profile at steamcommunity.com/id/unimportantguy. Generally, when talking about "Shoot" stuff having to do with Fire Pro or edits, it will usually be in spoiler boxes like this. I try to keep the main body of the thread "in-universe."

From 2012 to 2016, SWA operated two one-hour weekly TV shows. In 2017, following significant frustration from Alex Morgainne about getting the two shows treated equally by service providers, TV was abandoned in favor of moving the two shows to an internet streaming solution. Sierra Wrestling All-Stars, featuring primarily male wrestlers, broadcasts on Saturdays. SWA Joshi, the company’s women's program, broadcasts on Wednesdays. As of 2016, SWA also broadcasts 4 annual Pay-Per-View shows that form a "season" out of each year: Emergence (July), Breakdown (October), Crescendo (January), and Aftermath (April). Aftermath is generally regarded as the "biggest" of the four PPVs, though each of them will have a number of big matches, with all of SWA's titles on the line at each PPV. Aftermath and Breakdown have existed since the beginnings of SWA, while Emergence debuted in 2015, and the inaugural Crescendo took place in January, 2017. Generally, I will post content to my YouTube channel, and link back to it here. I also occasionally (when I remember it exists) maintain an in-universe SWA fanblog at angrywrasslenerd.tumblr.comNew for the 2018 Season are a series of tournaments, designed to showcase the best of each division of SWA, each focused around one of SWA’s four Championships: The SWA World Open in March, the SWA Summer TagFest in June, Escalation Towards Breakdown in September, and the Queen of SWA in December. The revised full-year schedule for SWA is as follows: January: Crescendo (PPV) March: SWA World Open (Tournament, winner faces the SWA Openweight Champion at Aftermath) April: Aftermath (PPV, End of official PPV Season) June: SWA Summer Tagfest (Tournament, winner faces the SWA Tag Team Champions at Emergence) July: Emergence (PPV, Beginning of official PPV Season) September: Escalation (Tournament, winner faces SWA Aftermath Champion at Breakdown) October: Breakdown (PPV) December: Queen of SWA (Tournament, winner faces the SWA Joshi Champion at Aftermath) Current Tournament Trophyholders as of 5/13/24: World Open: Carlos Ortega-Reyes. Title Match was 4/28/2024, SWA Aftermath. SWA Summer TagFest: Gold-Blooded ( Cerise and Leticia Fujioka. Title match was 7/28/2024, SWA Emergence. Escalation: Bobby Wilder. Title Match was 10/27/2024, SWA Breakdown. Queen of SWA: Toni Severin. Title Match was 4/28/2024, SWA Aftermath.

SWA has three Singles championships and a set of Tag Team Championships. The Singles championships are the SWA Openweight Championship, SWA Joshi Championship, and SWA Aftermath Championship. The SWA Openweight and SWA Joshi Champions defend their championships once every six weeks, working out to roughly 2 defenses every 3 months, with one of those defenses naturally occurring at each Pay Per View show. It is generally agreed that the PPV defenses are a bigger deal than the non-PPV defenses, but it is not unknown for the championship to change hands on regular TV. The SWA Aftermath Championship is roughly analogous to the "TV Title" in many other promotions, and is considered a "floating" championship that may be defended or challenged for both on SWA TV and SWA Joshi. In the past, the Aftermath Championship was generally defended every two weeks, but it was not unknown for defenses to come even more frequent than that. In 2017, Alex Morgainne decreed that SWA Aftermath Championship defenses would occur every three weeks, a decision that has been unpopular among fans, but one that management does not seem interested in walking back. The SWA Tag Team Championships are, like the Aftermath Championship, "floating," and can be defended on either show. Tag Teams may consist of any two wrestlers, and intergender teams are a common occurrence. Officially, the Tag Team Championships are supposed to be defended on the same six-week schedule as the World and Joshi Championships, but in practice, they are often only defended on Pay Per Views. SWA has historically had a strange and rocky relationship with Tag Team wrestling, and while Alex Morgainne has strived to change that under his regime, it can be hard to fight nearly 20 years of bad practice. Current Champions as of 9/25/2024: SWA Openweight Champion: Kazuo Saji. Won 1/28/2024, SWA Crescendo. 6 Defenses. SWA Joshi Champion: Mieko Suzuyama. Won 4/30/2023, SWA Aftermath. 12 Defenses. SWA Tag-Team Championships: So-Cal Squad(Matt De León and Chad Jackson). Won 4/28/2024, SWA Aftermath. 4 Defenses. SWA Trios Championships: Los Diablos(El Rey Dorado, Fabio Silva, and Aguijon Tachibana) Won 7/28/2024, SWA Emergence. 1 Defenses. SWA Aftermath Champion: Adrian Rose Won 8/31/2024. 2 Defenses. Last Pay-Per-View Event: SWA Breadown, 10/27/2024.Abbreviated results: Adrian Rose def. The SWA championship landscape, in particular, has been largely defined by faction conflict, especially the SWA Openweight Championship. Welcome, one and all, to SWA Emergence 2018! Tonight, every title in SWA is under contention. Los Diablos, The Brotherhood of Fallen Angels, BHB, and The Redeemed jockey for position and power, but the non-faction-affiliated wrestlers of the SWA roster have statements to make as well.
Opening Match: The Brotherhood of Fallen Angels (Gabriella Espinosa, Brandon Kennedy, and Aaron Wolff) vs. BHB (Shannon Fulmar, Lina, and El Hijo de Toxico): SWA Tagfest Redemption: Aves de Lucha (El Halcon Loco Jr. and El Halcon Loco ) vs. The Rose Nebula (Brianna Dalton and Raven Briars): Stipulation: The winner of this match gets a shot at the Tag Team Championships in six weeks Post-Match: As The Rose Nebula depart, victorious, some kind of significant disagreement is going on in the ring between El Halcon Loco and El Halcon Loco Jr. Heated words seem to be being exchanged in Spanish, and El Halcon Loco begins shoving Jr. Two, three times, he shoves the younger man, before El Halcon Loco Jr. loses his temper and shoves the original El Halcon Loco over flat on his ass. There is a moment of stunned silence, and El Halcon Loco Jr. seems about to apologize and help El Halcon Loco up, but El Halcon Loco springs to his feet in a rage, grabs El Halcon Loco Jr's mask, and rips a big hole in it. Mortified, El Halcon Loco Jr. covers his face and retreats to the back. Los Diablos vs. The Redeemed: Aguijon Tachibana vs. Becky Bravo SWA Tag-Team Championships: Gold-Blooded (Leticia Fujioka and Cerise) vs. Masked Ladies (Lexi Heart and Keilyn Coardes)
SWA Aftermath Championship: Samael Tangaroa vs. Kazuo Saji
Post-Match: Samael: Your heroes are falling, SWA. Kazuo Saji treated this belt as an ornament. A decoration. It is only fitting that he loses it here. From now on, this belt will be a symbol. A symbol of my domination. A symbol of my judgment. I will watch the Escalation to Breakdown tour with great interest, for the winner of that tournament will have the privilege of being victimized on pay-per-view, just like Kazuo was here tonight. In the meantime, I will seek other victims. Come to me, heroes of SWA, and I shall destroy you one at a time, until nobody remains to oppose me.
Semi-Final: CAREER VS TITLE: Jun Taiyou vs. Mieko Suzuyama Post-Match: Mieko: It's over, Jun. It's. Over. For eighteen long years, you have cast your shadow over SWA, shaping it to your whims. In your attempt to control the Joshi division you created a monster you could not control. Me. When you couldn't control me, you tried to destroy me. You couldn't do that either. And in the process of trying to destroy me, you formed another monster you could not control in Cerise. But now, your career is over, Jun Taiyou. In all your ruthlessness, your cold rage, your control, you cannot defeat a Miracle. And now, I send you into retirement, knowing that your callous hand will never shape SWA again. Mieko drops the mic and turns to leave, but Jun starts chuckling, still laying on the mat. Jun attempts to stand, but cannot, so she takes the microphone and sits in the center of the ring. Jun: If only you knew, Mieko-chan, how true you speak, when you say I created a monster. What did I teach you from the beginning? Be aggressive. Be ruthless. Target a body part and disable your opponent. Don't give them a moment to rest. Assert your dominant will over all others. Make no mistake, Mieko-chan. My career may be over, but my legacy lives on. In you. You are my greatest creation. My monster. Mieko shakes her head in clear disgust.
Mieko: You're wrong. Mieko leaves the ring as Jun lies on her back in the ring, laughing hysterically. Main Event: SWA World Openweight Championship: Fabio Silva vs. Kyle Sieras Post-Match Kyle: Believe it or not, Fabio, I understand how frustrating it must be to be you. The Last Renegade. Fabio Silva. The most hated Renegades of the Ring Heavyweight Champion of all time. The weight of that must be heavy on your shoulders. I know how that feels, because I was the most hated SWA World Champion of all time. I turned my career around with hard work and serious self-reflection. And you could, too. It's not too late, Fabio. Kyle offers his hand out to Fabio. Fabio studies it for a long moment, then slaps Kyle in the face and leaves the ring.

What a show! (old mark-out GIF) I didn't catch more than Saji/Samael and the endings of a few sims but absolutely huge angles and FEEL of the entire event. This was as big as you built it up to be! Saji/Samael: Kazuo absolutely outperformed my expectations of him. Like had you given us a 6 minute CRITICAL! squash match, I would have been thankful that he lasted even that long!! This was Kazuo's coming out moment and another piece of evidence in my argument that someone can get over huge in a loss. He pushed Samael so hard and almost defeated him on a few occasions. That giant corner kick into the taunt into the pin was only stopped due to a rope break (and uh oh, was that just cause Samael is so big? I could have sworn that sequence didn't cause rope breaks in other sims...I may have to check on that since i want that to actually finish matches). I honestly thought that "Sister Abigail" was going to finish the match but Samael got up one split second before Saji pinned him! Had that not been in the ropes, a victory for Saji may be in the books right now!!
Saji: "Books, read 'em bitches."
(That comment was sponsored by his "The more you blow" campaign)
Loved how Saji stood and brawled with him, never backing down.
Ultimately, I think pride caused Saji's fall. It was his "running to taunt" move (when Samael was out of the ring) that ultimately preceded Samael's back body drop and then chokeslam. Saji was a little too Saji there for to finish the job but no one can doubt that he gave Samael more than enough to handle.
Samael cut a monster of a promo afterward too. This is a scary time for SWA.
Also: SOOOO glad that Kyle beat Fabio. Very interesting angle at the end too. Fabio slapped him but seemingly out of instinct. I get the sense we may see Fabio start to think about things.
My favorite moment of the show may have been Jun's promo against Mieko. Heel era Geese approves :)

It's time for the... SWA Injury Report for August 2018 unimportantguy has not yet been cleared for competition, but he is expected to return in time for the Escalation to Breakdown tournament. Cerise suffered a complex fracture to her wrist at Emergence, and is not expected to return for Escalation to Breakdown. Doctors place her earliest return date at the Breakdown PPV itself. Kazuo Saji was kept overnight and evaluated by doctors after his match at Emergence, but was given a clean bill of health and released. Armel St. Martin is expected to make his return to the ring during the Escalation to Breakdown tour.

OGJoshiFanForums.net comment of the week:
"SWA has a new tournament bracket right after Emergence was posted? That escalated quickly."
Five people didn't get the joke and were banned as a result.
Great looking tournament! I don't know if Saji can make it to that point but Saji/UIG would be awesome to see :)

This week is a TITLE MATCH week here at SWA, and that means two title matches tonight on SWA Joshi! Tonight, the SWA Tag-Team Championships and the SWA Joshi Championship were ON THE LINE in title contention! Continuing TITLE MATCH WEEK, this week on SWA TV, both the Aftermath and World Openweight Championships were ON THE LINE in title contention! SWA Aftermath Championship: Fabio Silva vs. Samael Tangaroa youtu.be/HBrbINBkGdAPost-Match: "Do you remember the first time I did that? I remember. I remember you, Fabio. You told me, "Sam, a big fatass idiot like you can't do a moonsault off the top rope." No, I know you. You forgot. Well, I didn't forget. I got stronger and better. I trained and worked until I could destroy everything in my path. Because I never forget. I remember. I get stronger. I get better.
Don't think, either, that I've forgotten your betrayal. I brought you and the rest of Los Diablos here to SWA. You were to be the vehicle of my judgment, the destruction I brought upon SWA. And as soon as you found the opportunity, you stabbed me in the back. Well, I've gotten stronger and better because of that, too. And when I and my Brotherhood finish reducing this promotion to rubble, we're going to come for you, too. I'm saving you, Los Diablos, for last, so that I can savor the moment that your bravado turns to terror; when you realize that, like everyone else, you cannot stop Final Judgment." SWA Openweight Championship: Raye Groves vs. Kyle Sieras youtu.be/X4CYIxiGn28Post-Match "Raye. Two weeks ago, on SWA TV, you told me something. At the time, I didn't fully understand it. You said that you took this matchup, despite it being in the middle of the Escalation to Breakdown Tournament, because you feel like every time you face me, we both get better. I accepted your challenge because you beat me in the World Open. I didn't really think about your words.
Now, I understand. Fighting you, I evolve. I improve. I have to. We've faced each other three times now, once at Aftermath last year, for the Aftermath title, once during the World Open, and now for the World Openweight title. Those last two times, you beat me. But I got better every time, because I wanted to prove myself. And you got better every time, to keep from falling behind.
So, you're right. We do make each other better. And I'll be looking forward to our next match, whenever it comes."
Kyle holds out his hand for a handshake. After only a brief moment of hesitation, Groves shakes his hand, and leaves the champion to celebrate his win."
