Wow, that was an awesome promo exchange!! I didn't realize that Kyle and UIG were friends. The layer of "he keeps me from maiming people" is excellent added depth to all of this. I want to see UIG unleashed upon Samael! Aftermath was awesome as well! Wolf/UIG was interesting, especially in light of this new challenge. I wonder what UIG may have picked up in that match...
Huge win for Blaze. He was the one who faced Saji 1 on 1 a few months ago in the run-up to Saji/Samael, right?
Very big things happening for SWA right now! 😎

Good memory, Geese! I had forgotten about the Saji/Blaze match. I think they also faced off in a tag match in the Saji/Samael runup as well. Unfortunately, I didn't preserve my notes from stuff that was posted on the other forum as well as I should have.

Yeah, I think I may have even capped a Saji/Cipris vs. Blaze/Samael match at some point. *checks*I did! ogubl.proboards.com/thread/940/matsuki-mobile-july-2018It's the second match and there's a write-up beforehand that goes over their history. It was Aaron Wolf that Saji faced 1 on 1 but then Blaze in the tag match with Samael due to Blaze interfering in the Saji/Aaron match. Blaze really impressed me in the sims leading to that match 😎

Okay, I'm a little late posting this one, for which I apologize. On 6/15/2019, unimportantguy, the wrestler I took my screen name from, faced off against Samael Tangaroa for the SWA Openweight Championship. I felt like I should've been excited, but really I felt more of a sense of foreboding. Maybe I was right to feel that way. SWA TV 6/15/2019: unimportantguy vs. Samael Tangaroa youtu.be/XzKTk2NGFcsAccording to an update posted to SWA's web site, unimportantugy collapsed backstage after the show, and was taken to a hospital. SWA hasn't said anything about unimportantguy's condition since then, and it's making me nervous. Typically, when a wrestling company goes dark on a wrestler's condition, it's a bad sign.

Damn...I don't know what you have planned but it feels HUGE and transformative for SWA and UIG's career and in a concerning way 😟 I hope that UIG is okay. That was quite a match and going that long against Samael is brutal. I think OGJoshiFan.net/wrestlingworld/SWA/rumorz is f'n buzzing right now.

This was one of those cases where the game just gives you exactly what you want. Unimportantguy was relentless. For over 35 minutes, UIG threw everything he had at Samael and none of it mattered. Every time unimportantguy thought he had a finish lined up, Samael countered it or just no-sold it.
The defining spot of that match to me is when UIG introduces a light tube and Samael casually chokeslams him on it with seemingly no effort. It's the perfect indictment of UIG as a wrestler, where all of his anger, ferocity, training, and relentlessness amount to nothing. As a fan of my own edit, it's hard to watch. As a Booker, it's perfection.

As a Booker, it's perfection. You described that perfectly. UIG gave everything and Samael shrugged it off. That's the worst frustration he can feel, along with the actual damage to his body. Seems like he went so hard that he just collapsed due to fatigue AND from his spirit being compromised due to the futility of his efforts.
Where UIG goes from here will be very interesting and that's assuming he's going to be okay medically.
Seems like psychological parts of both Geese and UIG broke this year 😭

Hey guys. I'm still not really, uh, mentally ready to talk about the horror show that has been SWA's 2019. I've been kind of prepping myself to have a post about what's been going on at the end of this month. But I was thinking about SWA the other day, and flipping through some recent back-issues of Inside Wrasslin' magazine and I found something. Back in their July issue, Inside Wrasslin' published an interview with the whole SWA Class of 2019, and while I won't reproduce the whole interview here, I thought this section might interest people: IW: So, let's talk a little bit about the wrestlers that influenced and inspired you.
VOLT Tsukuda: A lot of fans caught on early to the fact that I was very inspired by Kazuchika Okada. Justin Starr is also someone I look up to a lot. But my biggest influence is probably the late, great Julian Caesaro. If I some day have even half the skill and swagger that Ceese did, I'd be able to retire happy. Jake Adair: It's funny you mention Justin Starr because I was going to say I learned so much from watching ZIP Japan. Very important wrestling for my life. If I had to name names, probably Justin Starr and GORO have been the most influential on me. Toni Severin: Oh man where to start. I used to watch a lot of OG Joshi when I was little, I actually first learned of SWA by watching Lina matches in OG Joshi. Kim Cross, Jenny Mclanahan, Visper Karr... those women were my heroes. Especially Visper. She was amazing. Valkyrie Jameson: Wow, OG Joshi brings back memories. Eris Byrne was the coolest. And I know people will make fun of me, but Patty Sirloin too. When you asked the question, though, the first person I thought of was SWA's own Olivia Powers. She was really who inspired me to start lifting and become a wrestler myself. Regina Ibanez: I was trained by some of the best influences I could hope to have! Maria and Sydney taught me so much. I owe everything to those amazing women.

Much deserved respect for Ceese, Goro, and Justin Starr! 😎
I did not expect to see a Patty Sirloin reference in the year of our Goose, 2019. Holy shit that popped me! 😁
Mr. Figaro: "ohhhh man, you're not the only one. And Kim Cross was mentioned too!! urgghhhhh 🥰" Mr. Clyde: *sigh*
I'm glad to see Eris, Visper, and Jenny get love to. And of course, Lina.
It's too bad that Tony and Valkyrie never got to see the shocking Eris/Lina tag win as it was intended to happen!
It's really cool to me that OG-Joshi was brought up as inspirations, thanks! 😊
Especially since this year ends with Robin Walker finally facing Ruby Moreno 😎

Okay, I uh. Let's just get this over with. Normally, I'd link a big Angry Wrasslin' Nerd post about what's going on in SWA, but the Nerd blocked me on social media after I called him out on his tweet about how unimportantguy deserved to get hurt. Let's talk about how SWA's 2019 has been going.
April 28th, 2019, SWA Aftermath: Samael Tangaroa vs. Kyle Sieras for the SWA Openweight Championship. The result? Kyle Sieras was badly injured, and was on the shelf for months, not returning until after Emergence.
June 16th, 2019, SWA TV: unimportantguy vs. Samael Tangaroa for the SWA Openweight Championship. Result? unimportantguy badly injured, no return date yet announced.
July 28th, 2019, SWA Emeregence: N-Trio vs. Samael Tangaroa for the SWA Openweight Championship. Result? N-Trio badly injured, no return date yet announced. The rumor mill says he may have quietly retired due to injury.
September 14th, 2019, SWA TV: Tommy Powers vs. Samael Tangaroa for the SWA Openweight Championship. Result? Tommy Powers badly injured, not scheduled to return until around Crescendo in January.
October 27th, 2019, SWA Breakdown: Connor Cipris vs. Samael Tangaroa for the SWA Openweight Championship. Result? Connor Cipris badly injured. No announcements have been made yet, as this one is still recent, but he probably won't be back for a while.
Seeing a pattern? Everyone that has stepped up to Samael since April has ended up on the shelf. Nobody has come even close to stopping him. His death grip around the SWA Openweight Championship has remained unbreakable, and with each passing title defense, his confidence grows. He tells us that this has been coming since the earliest parts of his career in SWA. That we were all too stupid to notice. That it started when he retired Thunder Laytner a couple years back.
Throughout all of this, Mieko Suzuyama has been my rock, as a fan. The only hope I can cling onto. Through the summer and fall, she has valiantly defended the SWA Joshi Championship, and made it emphatically clear that Samael and his Brotherhood are not welcome on SWA Joshi.
But, well, as great as that is, it really doesn't do anything to stop the giant problem that is Samael. Joshi may survive, but the SWA Men's roster is, as he told us so many times, being steadily destroyed by Samael. As I write this, Samael's next title defense is still six weeks away, and the opponent has yet to be announced. I can't even look forward to it though, because I don't want to see his list of victims grow further. SWA Openweight Championship matches used to be something I looked forward to and enjoyed. Now, they're an exercise in futile hope, and I don't know how much longer I can hold on as a fan, watching this monster of a man steadily smash through fan favorites left and right.

Wow, it sounds like Samael literally did everything he said he would do: take over and destroy!
N-Trio possibly retiring as a result of injury to Samael is a huge deal.
I should feel relieved that Saji only lost to him and didn't get injured as well!
But damn, Connor got injured? It hasn't been a great few months for him and Saji 😥
Looking forward to seeing who Samael's next victim opponent is!

This promo aired on the 11/2 SWA TV. Samael's next challenger has some words for him. *The scene fades in to a locker room where Kazuo "Chrome" Saji is sitting on a bench breathing heavy. His cell phone is next to him with his text message screen currently active. And the locker right in front of him is busted as if it buckled through the middle with ripples of metal emanating out to the sides.*[Kazuo:] "Samael *breathes* Tangaroa. What's in a f'n name?" *Saji takes a swig of a water bottle that he pulls out from his gym bag.*[Kazuo:] "Let's start with 'Samael.' I'm not into 'Basic Demonomics' but I hear a demon goes by that name. And that is perfect cuz I'm mad as hell right now. So let's talk a little about what got ole Chrome so shined up. I get suspended from UBL cause a beta troll went corporate and got his lawyer to do his dirty work. Then that same lawyer breaks the arm of my mentor, RYOMA. Two months later, one of my best friends, Tetsu Gushiken, loses his Title in his last scheduled match before making it a year long reign. And oh yeah, then this shit happens: *Saji holds up his phone showing a text message from Connor Cipris saying: "bro" and linking to an SWA update..[Kazuo:] "See, while I was helping out my Matsuki fam, Samael injured my other best friend, Connor. Now it's war. Samael, I got you next. No other challengers, no more peeps injured. I'm putting a stop to this shit. And I know what you're all thinking." *Saji uses a mocking whining voice*'Hey Chrome Dome, didn't you lose your SWA Aftermath Championship to Samael in the first place? Why do you think you can take him out now when he's left a trail of bodies more accomplished than you?" *Saji goes back to his regular voice which he assures us is completely masculine and virile*[Kazuo:] "I'm not the same banger I used to be. Not only have I won two separate singles Titles in the C!C in the past six months, but my war with Samael just got personal. So I'm going Super-Sajiyan on his ass. Check it - last time it was just about being on the defense in trying to keep my Title against him. But I learned you don't win trying to not lose. Now it's about taking that title and wrapping it around his f'n throat. Cause I got some news for you, Samael, You're not the first big dog I put down. Three years ago, I stood across the ring and interviewed Geese Walker at Matsuki Mobile: Royale. But we were rudely interrupted by some Destiny drones. One of them wanted to throw hands. Then I knocked him out of the known universe and looked f'n fly doing it." *Saji shows a cell phone video of this moment*[Kazuo:] "Guess what? Homebitch hasn't been seen since. The biggest and most dangerous in all of Destiny got put down by this leg, the same leg that just did some interior decorating here." *Saji points to the broken locker in front of him.*[Kazuo:] "What some people don't know is that a week after I maimed Matthias, I was hanging in the UBL Dojo and two peeps came up to me: Thunder Strike and Alicia Gordon. First time I met them, it didn't go too well. But this time was different. They paid me mad respect for doing Matthias dirty. Alicia said I used her AG-47 move to put down the beast, but it was the best she saw anyone else ever use it. Samael, ask around the SWA Joshi roster. They'll tell you Leesh was the baddest bitch in OG-Joshi. She put down monsters with that same move. So I've got my Chrome Splitter all loosened up up for you. And I'm ready to dance all over your face. Cause that brings me to the second part of your name - Tangoroa. It's fitting. The tango is the forbidden dance and I'm about to get banned from yet another promotion after what I do to you. See ya in hell, bitch." *Saji spits at the camera and walks away*

SWA TV 11/9/2019: Samael Speaks!

That was intense and chilling 🥶 Spoilering just for size/convenience of scrolling through thread:
Absolutely loved the wordsmithery there!
A trophy for destroying SWA. Damn.
"So you'll be taking that to go? You want like extra napkins or something?" 😁
Absolutely loved that line!
Clearly Samael has been paying close attention to UBL which makes me nervous! 😨
This match just got upgraded to EPIC based on this promo and that finish. 👏
They're gonna tear the house down!

Geese: Where do you think Samael intends on taking his trophy when he has succeeded in destroying SWA? Surely UBL must be one of the places on his mind.
Yeah, honestly, I had a sim that I thought was pretty good I was going to use, but after the promos I feel like I need to head back into the simmin' hut and get an ever better one, because this deserves greatness.
Also, it was made official earlier today on SWA's web site: Kazuo Saji will face Samael for the SWA Openweight Championship on the 12/14 SWA TV! It's happening.
