I agree that NJPW's timing is gonna suffer a bit from AEW's momentum. But damn, what a time to be a wrestling fan! I feel like wrestling fans are living in an ironic hell with a devil that underestimates us. Devil: "So...you like wrestling, huh?" Us: "What?" Devil: "I said... you like-" Us: "What?" *Burning stick to the eye*Devil: "AHEM. So you like wrestling? How about 5 promotions airing 20 hours of wrestling a week!?" Us:

I've got two North American promotions to look forward to now. I'm not complaining!

Overall the style of NJPW is definitely my preference but watching AEW Dark and NWA Power on YouTube has been pretty cool. Definitely a cool time to be a wrestling fan right now.

NJPW / AEW Crossover?
The NJPW Youtube channel just posted Chris Jericho's challenge to Tanahashi for the AEW title.

Wow, that could be really cool and help both companies out around Wrestle Kingdom. It also may have the bonus effect of giving Kenny Omega some kind of "New Japan adjacent" stat and booking direction boost! 😁

This should be interesting on how it plays out. ROH right now: It's too bad ROH still has some great international talent locked into contracts. Lethal and Gresham deserve better too.

NJPW's 2020 is cursed. Between the bad gate for New Beginning USA, Ibushi missing tours due to the flu, and the March show cancellations, everything is just coming up crap for them right now. It sucks to see this happening, but hopefully things will get better soon.

I feel it bears pointing out that FREAKING JADO (to quote Don Callis there) has an opportunity to become #1 Contender for the IWGP Heavyweight Championship IN 2020.
XD XD XD XD XD
Btw though, putting Gedo vs. Okada in the first round is an absolutely perfect booking move.

Oof I might eat the mid-month resub just to catch this. I'm still furloughed as non-essential personnel right now but I've missed NJPW a lot.

The first round is full of mis-matches but some of them are interesting and I think it will pick up even more in round 2. I am concerned that having no fans will give it a flat atmosphere but I'm still looking forward to it.
SANADA was my pick for the original bracket and I'm sticking with it now.
