From what I remember of Meltzer's obituary for Misawa, there was a point where they were trying to establish that facelock as a finisher for him in the early 90s because of the wear and tear he had suffered even at that point, which is weird given that Baba hated submission finishes (kinda explains why Kawada would drain people with the stretch plum and then pin them). Maybe that's it? |

Ah, yeah, I know that one of Misawa's (possibly derogatory) nicknames among the Japanese press during the 90s was the "Glass Ace" for that very reason. That could possibly be it, yeah.

I admit it, I'm a poseur. D: Still, I was curious why they gave him the move in ND in Firepro and KOC... He did submit Jumbo with it, but it was just in a tag match (September 4th, 1991). I can't remember if he ever won with it again but making Jumbo tap got it over as a potential finish for a while. Edit: He submitted Taue with it in 1992 as well. whatever this game mostly sucks w/ or w/o mods and you all act like gods of the game. guess what nerds? it's legal to own a copy of something you can copy, hence why copying is available for pirating in the first place! i bought the game so if i got banned for simply bringing up having two copies then just go ahead and blow me after blowing uncle sam. since i cant get on the discord anymore so i assume someone blackballed me. douchebags here if so!
