2.00 killed a lot of mod compatibility, not just for the mod suite, but even the simple ability to access a lot of things that we've had access to over the last year is gone in order to make it more PS4 friendly.
This has pretty much driven the nail into the coffin as far as mods are concerned. View is not able to update his mods, because they all require a hook that can no longer be used, and I'm discontinuing support of versions 2.0+ at this time. It was a good run, but it really is worse case scenario right now...you can either choose version 1.02 and mods, or you can choose the DLC and future versions.
This is no longer a matter of waiting for the ModSuite to be updated, it will not be updated. I will continue to mod for the old version, and the new version if I think of something that I want to do with it...but my loyalties lay with the existing mods, so I probably will not do much with the 2.0+ branch, it just doesn't add anything interesting enough to pull me away from the stuff I've already added.
I'm also probably going to be scarce around here. I'm fairly bitter about the PS4 version basically fucking PC modders twice. I know Spike has no obligation to the mods, and it's their game, but that doesn't mean I can't be bitter about their choice. Since we have an active PS4 contingent here, I have very little desire to be here, I just don't want to interact with that segment of the community at this point.
You can find me on the Mod Suite Testing Grounds Discord if you need me.

Full agreement regarding the state of the mods, at this point the DLC doesn't add enough for me to willingly undergo the workload necessary to re-learn and update everything; even the basic mods would be a chore. Therefore, they'll still be hosted here but will be 1.02 compatible only. As that's the version I'm most satisfied with and play the most, I believe it's more worthy of my free time for mod-related activities. I'll probably dick around with the current version, but it will not receive mod support.
As per usual, I'll be on the Mod Suite Discord for suggestions/early releases/feedback/etc.

It was awesome while it lasted man. Can't thank you all enough for your time and energy generously donated into showing the true potential of the game.

Ooof. What a sad day. And a bittersweet update.
Is there any reasonable expectation that Spike could reverse this if we made it known that this is the consequence of their changes? Probably not....

Unlikely, the changes were probably made to make development easier for PS4. Since they need to keep both versions compatible, and mods were never something they officially supported, there's no reason for them to reverse anything. The reality is that PC and PS4 are now on even ground, for better or worse.

Sorry for being a pleb, but what does this mean for me exactly?
I love the mods and i'm not willing to forego them for the DLC even though i desperately wanted Promoter mode). However, does this mean that i have to remain in offline mode forever to play the game and keep the mods? Or can i allow the game to update naturally (without purchasing the DLC) and also keep the mods?

Short answer is, you'll be playing the vanilla version of the game.

What it means is that if you want to continue using the Mod Suite, you will have to separate the pre 2.0 version of the game from the current version. There's been some discussion on how to do this in the Discord, but nothing concrete yet from what I've seen.

Didn't want to point to the Mod Suite Discord, over fear of being banned. But Zealot did it first, so I'm safe! Long answer is on the mod suite discord server.

Just stating what I saw is all. Not doing it or advocating for it. I'm moving on with the DLC update.

So, to clarify something: is it that the mods using the EXISTING framework can't work/be adapted to the new game build, or that the new build makes it impossible to mod the game, EVER?

Didn't want to point to the Mod Suite Discord, over fear of being banned. Well that's slightly knee-jerk.

I wouldn't say ever, but from what they've said, there are new programs, checks, etc. in place mainly to make the game more friendly in terms of PS4 compatibility and it affects like 70-80% of the Mod Suite.
Something that would take a significant overhaul to fix and to them is not worth the effort.

Wow, this is terrible news. Losing both Free Cam view and the ability to turn off rest holds is a major downgrade, not to mention everything else that has been lost.
