I tried using a trick outlined on reddit to download a pre-2.0 version of the game. Somehow I managed to figure it out, only to get this box when I opened the game: You may be using an outdated version of the application. Please connect to the Internet to download an update and restart after it finishes. So much for that idea. You can easily fix this. Either by getting your old save or even easier, using the Mike's patcher to patch the mods in. It will eliminate this issue immediately. Let me know if you need help. Thanks for the encouragement -- I finally got it to work! Managed to find the backup file in C:\Users\Lou\AppData\LocalLow\spikechunsoft\FireProWrestlingWorld and literally just renamed savedata_006.bak to savedata.dat (after backing all of it up) and it did the trick.

To be fair, now that things have settled down it may be possible to salvage some of the (Match Type) mods for 2.0. It's just that the 2.0 version will rarely be updated as 1.02 will still be the main focus, and some components won't return without a major overhaul. That’d be awesome - I haven’t been across Fire Pro since dabbling a bit with Fighting Road. Was going to scour FP2 for info on how to rollback my game when I get a chunk of free time (after the 16th). But I’m glad to hear it’s - hell, I’d be glad just to have less of a schism in the community (even though I think having a dedicated board to mods is an excellent idea) either way, good news all-round (kinda!)

I keep getting a crash message. May try the patcher to see if it helps with that. What crash message are you getting? I'm not near my PC ATM but next time I am I'll post the full error message.

If not ping me on the discord. Yeah, homie, I used Spanish's guide and it took me like half an hour to get everything going again. Ray Stevens (The Streak, not The Crippler) was right; Everything is Beautiful. If I have half as much luck with Carl's move import guide, then 2.0 can officially eat my butt. Hopefully some magician can eventually explain how to import some of the new edits parts from my soon to be forgotten, misfit toys 2.0 to my magical wonderland of 1.02. Then I can just pine over my lost love of the Workshop. Although, it only seems pretty D-E-D since 2.0. I really hate arguing over businesses. Coke and Pepsi both suck. iPhone and Android are both buggy (and still not REALLY waterproof), and Steam, PS, and Microsoft all want to jam in it real hard and break it off. That said, Steam lets me have a fucking Latino World Order shirt, so it wins! All hail the PC Master Race. Enjoy your dust collection, PS4... At least til Spider-Man and Red Dead go on sale. Or WWE2K19 because I'm a moron. Some people think cucumbers taste better than pickles. Some people like Circus Peanuts... And until the Purge starts we're stuck with the disgusting monsters. Steam Love, PS4 Love, Vanilla Love, Modded Love, Fuck Circus Peanuts. You people are what's wrong with the world and if I could I'd put you on the space ship to the Sun from the Simpsons with Bart, Homer, Tom Arnold, Courtney Love, Tonya Harding, & Pauly Shore. tl;dr- Thanks Level. Circus Peanuts are fucking gross. P.P.S.- No P.S. Dude's a racist, and dresses like Dumb & Dumber. P.P.P.S.- These new Anxiety pills are my shiiiiiiiiiiit!

That's actually really reassuring. I got so frustrated with the rollback and "playing Sid Meier's Pirates" that I was seriously contemplating just saying fuck it, and buying WWE2k19. Right now I'm concentrating on renaming all the moves, because I hate hate hate a lot of the in-game move names. And, I'm a dork so I like for it to say "Huracánrana" or "Topé" and official names for karate & judo moves.

I mean, an easy way to keep chinlocks from ending matches is to not let the AI use them in near death in the first place....

I mean, an easy way to keep chinlocks from ending matches is to not let the AI use them in near death in the first place.... Unrelated to the topic of mods -- other than restmoves, I guess -- but THIS. Ignoring logic fuckups like Naito's Pluma Blanca prio, you know what Spike never, ever did without good reason? Put a submission move in near death that you wouldn't think of as a match ending submission. In pretty much every case, people who had a sub in ND had it because they ended matches with them. People who came up during the 80s in New Japan sometimes have the achilles tendon hold in ND. Misawa won his first Triple Crown by submitting Jumbo Tsuruta with a stepover face lock. Hashimoto used the Triangle Scissors when the DDT wasn't enough to end a match. Kawada used the grounded stretch plum.

While I do agree that using mods to substitute for bad logic is foolish, it doesn't take into account the "spirit nuker" edits that could potentially end a match prematurely with a rest hold. High spirit damage moves and high stretch/joint ratings can factor into that pretty quickly.
In those cases, the mod could be helpful. However, you need to use common sense when doing near death logic for anything that could possibly end a match like a pin or submission.

Also, from what I can tell from trying to fix some old edits, a reverse spirit-nuke can happen sometimes if you lean too hard on MMA grapples for the appearance of matwork. I just had to fix an amateur background/suplex machine edit who was constantly going for the single-leg takedown, but also somehow losing almost all of the resulting grapples, (which got weird after a while, honestly) meaning that a monstrous, 200+ point edit with huge defensive parameters was having his spirit so utterly broken that he wouldn't even make it to near-death and would tap to moves that only happened in the Large category sometimes when facing anyone built with even the slightest hint of doing spirit damage.

One solution for handling MMA mount reversals that lead to massive spirit nuking is to give your edits the weaker reversal moves. Moves like the grounded submissions will do significantly less damage than the Bash or pins, ensuring that your edit isn't being destroyed by his opponent every time he fails the MMA mount. And for what it's worth, you need to take this into consideration when making heavy usage of Back Switch as well; it's the standing equivalent of the MMA mounts in all areas (same spirit damage when used, same bloated damage for many of the reversals).
