If you just knew for how long i've been hoarding money in my steam wallet JUST SO I CAN BUY THIS SEASON PASS WHEN IT COMES OUT...
As for the whole discussion - They were dealt a bad hand but they still managed to deliver it, i don't think things are as dire as some guys here believe it be - patches will come, stability will improve, and there's a whole season to go through, maybe it even ends up on Switch of all things - which might be one of the rare instances where i'll be willing to give Nintendo my money. Anyway, lets wait and be amazed.

I don't think I was expected to do more than buy the game, which I've done numerous times.
I don't feel obligated to support the PS4 version and at this point, I'm not sure I will. The PC version is better in every way, and it will have the same new features the PS4 version will get.
I've got a choice, a new Anthology or finishing the one I've already started.
If they ever allow easy porting between PC and PS4, then I can post the Anthology on PS4.
Until then, I bought 7 copies of World between both versions. I did my share.

The culture is different over there in regards to PC gaming. Eye opening for sure. I have taken credit cards entirely for granted (look at my balance for proof). Never would I have assumed it was so labrynthine to order things online. I guess I haven’t shaken my childhood perception of Japan as a high-tech utopia.

For pc users we’re kinda obligated too to unlock the full game right? The pc version at the moment it’s kinda v0.5 of the PS4 base game.
Two weeks after release it’ll be almost impossible to download edits without it as well

We're getting the UI update free and I doubt everybody's going to update their edits with DLC parts to the point where you're locked out of the Workshop.

I know the point has always been that we got the base game cheap on steam, compared to PS4 and the dlc season pass evens the cost out, but you are missing the NJPW guys and the Fighting Road - which to be fair is well over 50% of the game part of the game... You can exhaust mission mode and tournaments fairly quickly, after that there’s nothing to keep you playing the game long term if you aren’t a serious fire pro fanatic.. I’m keeping going using booking spreadsheets and I enjoy that.. does a large proportion of the user base, especially casual pc users... probably not Otaku has mentioned tweaking edits with the new kickpads and parts and I’m sure others will also do that. Maybe not everyone will go back and update old edits but going forward with new edits you would expect moves and parts will definitely creep into the workshop more commonly, that’s the beauty of what the dlc gives... tons of new moves and possibilities for creatives to make more unique looks and accurate movesets

The base PC version of World is a full game. It has everything Returns had except the Match Maker.
All signs are pointing to the 39 NJPW wrestlers + Story Mode DLC being $20. That'd put you on par with the PS4 release without having to buy the full season pass. If you're scared of getting locked out of the Workplace, that'd give you the most bang for your buck.
Or you can just copy the wrestlers you currently have and go without. It may lock you out of some creators' new edits but I doubt you'll be unable to find a version of a wrestler you want.

I know, I’ve always intended getting the season pass as soon as the pricing goes live.
All I really meant was that currently the pc version is not as deep as the PS4 in its current form, and to make them like for like we’re obligated to get the dlc. Can choose not too but most fire pro fans/fanatics will

Anybody think they would put something in place that allows you to download edits with dlc moves and parts but defaults the dlc content to something else (for sale if argument, IDK exactly) to allow you to use them?

I don’t play a lot of games but I thought “compatibility packs” where it basically gave everyone the DLC behind the scenes so that you could play online with no issues was pretty standard. The Takayama DLC didn’t do that but I wouldn’t totally write off the possibility

I could see people getting more pissed off that an edit they downloaded had the textures disappear off the pants or had the random moves subbed in than if they just outright blocked edits using DLC content from being downloaded by non-DLC owners.

If it's like the Takayama dlc is right now - Modded edits ain't going to disappear but they'll certainly get unavailable for selection in-game until you buy the dlc.
They might fix this, since the NJPW dlc brings so much stuff it becomes impossible to not want to use them in your old edits, meaning you'll be able to select the edits, sim with them, play as them, but won't find the parts in the editor until you buy it.

Obligatory first-timer drive-by hot-take post: This game needs a Switch port pretty bad. PS4 (& console gaming in general) aren't exactly as hugely popular in Japan as in western countries. On the other hand Switch has been a more consistently successful seller over there. Plus it has become something of a haven for indie/lower budget titles, with many games selling more copies on Switch than on any other platform. I'm not saying FPWW will suddenly become a mega huge seller on Switch, but it would supplement Steam/PS4 numbers by quite a bit.
