I'm not trying to defend their decision, especially not in this economy. I also haven't followed them very closely since maybe 2006 so this is also based on fuzzy recollections from well over a decade ago. That said, don't they usually have a fairly large wave of releases in the period after Wrestlemania? I mean, yes it sucks, but is it surprising? Or am I just confusing my memories of 2004 WWE with 2004 EWR?

They have only done a release here and there until AEW formed and then there's been maybe couple time they released anyone.

Alright, fair enough. Like I said, I haven't kept up with them in forever.

Alright, fair enough. Like I said, I haven't kept up with them in forever. Yeah I understand that but no this is all related to the current pandemic which is why there are producers, referees, and broadcasters that got cut or furloughed

WWE says its because of Corona but allot of people saw this coming especially after they fired their CFO & that other Exce back in February after the Poor 4th Quarter Earnings report.
Some of the names like Rusev & 2 Kanellis have asked to be released from their contracts over the past year so its no shock they are gone. Gallows & Anderson had some kinda friction with the office over their contracts. No Way Jose....Yeah he was doomed as soon as he debut. The Colons haven't worked on TV in months forgot they were even there they will likely go back to WWC to work with their Family. Curt Hawkins, Zack Ryder, Heath Slater, Long overdue.
Eric Young, EC3 Poorly used once they made the main roster
And like always when WWE does a house cleaning there's one person who survives whos been there a long time & people will ask Why are They Still There? The new person with that honor is Titas O'Neal

It's potentially much worse for the furloughed, although that would require actual useful data instead of clickbait so I'm not going to hold my breath on that.
And now we've lost the Fink.

You hate to see it. :)

I don't understand why Vince wants more Japanese superstars so bad?

^yeah, it's not like he really utilizes the ones that he has all that well
That said, if I had to guess, I'd say that the Japanese expansion was one of Triple H's pet projects and since he got demoted a few months ago.......yeah, probably not in a position to follow through with it, even without the pandemic fouling things up for everybody. Say what you will about the man, Trips (and the entire Kliq, for that matter) is a pretty hardcore wrestling geek and his work with bringing in international talent while helming NXT would suggest that he'd be more into a foreign expansion than Vince who hasn't really done that in his 40 years at the helm of the company.

Sean Ross Sapp with the badly worded tweet making it sound like the entirety of NXT was gone. Truck of salt, make use of it. Saw that. I wouldn't be surprised if NXT UK takes a hit too. Just saw this but NXT Uk will be fine.. they’ll be paid anyway.

I guess gronk is returning to football and is being traded to rejoin brady. So that's tough for wwe
Edit: probably time to retire the 24/7 title. I say let R-truth win it back first he's earned it.

Cain Velazquez the latest release. Kofi's loss to Brock just lost more meaning.

I think the Lance Storm cut is pretty bogus. He closed his School down only to be cut loose in 4 months. That said I’d rather his skills we’re used in his school over the WWE.
I’m hopeful Gallows and Anderson end up somewhere where they can be used properly.
