Because recent additions to the mod suite save directly into your save data, and I'm unsure of the amount of free time I'll have to update the mod suite after the 20th of this month, I want to make everyone aware of the possibility that you will be unable to play the game at all after the update until I've found the free time to update.
This really only applies to custom parts and custom moves, but if you use them on any of your edits, there's a chance that your game will not run after the update as the information for those items is stored in your save data regardless of whether or not you have mods patched in. This means that unlike previous updates, where you could just play the vanilla game while you waited for me to update, that may not be an option for some of you this time around.
The only work around would be to remove all custom parts from all your edits (you don't have to delete the .tex files or anything, just remove the parts in edit mode) and all MovePack/Custom Moves from your edits. You can use the option on the Testing Options tab of More Match Options to find edits that contain custom moves or edit parts.
The Mod Suite could take it's usual 12-24 hours to update or it could take weeks (depending on the amount of changes they make to the underlying code), so if you don't want to potentially be locked out of the game for weeks, I recommend heeding my advice and temporarily moving away from custom parts and moves. You've got two weeks to make the necessary changes...after that, I won't entertain any "My game is broken" posts or questions...because lets face it, you're a cunt who didn't read this and you deserve all the broken you're getting.
8/23 UPDATE: With the news that the update will not hit PCs until "September" I'm discontinuing the Mod Suite for the foreseeable future. It was one thing to make time for it when it was only a week into classes, but now it's going to be at least a month into classes and I've already got over 50 pages of research papers due and I haven't even attended all my classes for the first time yet...so making time for it in the thick of it is just not going to be possible.
SO THE OFFICIAL STANCE IS NOW IF YOU WANT TO CONTINUE USING MODS, DO NOT UPDATE YOUR GAME. IF YOU RUN THE UPDATED GAME, IT WILL UPDATE YOUR SAVE FILE WHICH WILL ALMOST CERTAINLY MAKE IT INCOMPATIBLE WITH MODS THAT REQUIRE READING THE SAVE DATA (READ: MOST OF THEM). INJECTION POINTERS WILL ALSO CHANGE, WHICH MAKES PATCHING WITH AN OUTDATED MOD SUITE VERY MUCH NOT RECOMMENDED.

Carl, if we turn Steam to offline mode prior to the August 28th release and do not download the update, we should be good as well (so long as we stay in offline mode), correct?
Thanks for the heads up.

Another good idea is to change the Automatic Updates setting to "Only Updates this game when I launch it" as an additional layer of protection. In the event that you wait for the very last minute to update your save, for some reason.

Yes, that will also work.

Carl,
Would the game likely still break if I used Ace’s attire extension mod to export custom parts to cos files but kept the first 4 slots generic, and used your move set extension to give in-game moves in every slot with mod moves only in the extended move set? In other words, if the edits could be uploaded to the workshop, which I think the above two fixes were suggested for, would that likely avoid the issue until the new mod suite was ready?

I love you Carl. Thanks for the update. Really glad I didn't go into these mods very much at all. I'll only need to change a few moves. Thank you.

I may have gone a little too hard on custom things. :x I may just back up my save and start a fresh one when the update comes out until the suite is ready. That would be fine too, right?

Sure, however you want to work it is fine.
Just remember that to start a new save, you need to disable Steam Cloud.

Yeah I think I can just copy the "steam" folder from "Program Filesx86" to my external and then "disable cloud" and then delete(or move) the file from my pc. Carl, quick question, If I did this^^^, Could I then play the "older" modded file on a "offline" computer without disrupting the "newer" updated saves that will be in use on my "main" computer???

You should be able to, as long as you have Steam in offline mode on the "offline" computer.

thank ya thank ya. Ya know I was already considering doing something like this anyway, Like put the 1970s on one save, 80s on another and so on. I'm too OCD I always end up with so many edits and rings my computer slows down, this might just be a good workaround for ppl with slow processors like me

Multiple saves will not work.
You can create a copy of Fire Pro, and continue to play the older Fire Pro, but you can't have multiple saves with different workshop subscriptions and edits...so if you do create a copy of your game, you will still be unable to play the new update until the Mod Suite is ready.
