Looks like the community split is going to be between mods and dlc then. As much as I want Fire Promoter, still not a hard choice to make.

Bummed to be missing out on the new moves coming with the update but this game without mods is just so bleh now I can't go modless! Hopefully if not now maybe once the updates are all patched through carl or someone will be able to patch things back in.

Here's the flat out truth... If I get too far behind, the ModSuite may NEVER get updated. If they dump this NJPW garbage on us in September, and then the Fire Promoter DLC comes out in November or early December, I may just give up on it entirely...as I'd be updating for the NJPW stuff, all of it's updates to fix whatever asinine bugs they left in it, then the Fire Promoter DLC and whatever updates they release for that...it could potentially become a wall I just don't care to climb. This is my fear. Would you please let us know if you reach that point? I would think if you hit that wall, then it would make sense for others to try to make changes, whether it's directly or starting over. Please understand, I'm not debating your decision, questioning your priorities, etc. I wouldn't blame you a bit if you walked away at any point and I agree without mods, the game is not that exciting. But I really do want it all. I want whatever Spike puts out and am willing to learn how to fix and improve whatever hot mess that is, not to the same ability but in the same spirit of what you've given us the last 13 months. I know it's your baby and you don't want multiple incompatible versions - totally respect that. But if you ever formally discontinue it, I'd love to see it kept alive by others in the community, the way you kept some of the original mods alive by incorporating them into the mod suite. Ace or View, do you guys intend to do any updates to your mods? Or is that a lost cause since they're part of the overall mod suite framework (I think).

Just sayin', it seems like it's theoretically possible already. Carl made motw already, but I was just looking forward to motr being remade in World by Spike. I'll be moving towards using Carl's version now. Regarding my own mods, they're not tied to the mod suite framework and should be basic enough to survive the update. However, since I won't be updating my game due to mod suite incompatibility, I won't be testing against the latest version. I'll still update the mods, but it will be strictly against the current version. If they still work with the updates, great. If not, I'll state that it is compatible with 1.0.2 only. If Carl's mods are ever made compatible with the latest version, that's when I'll update my copy. If someone with the latest version wants to give test feedback, that should work too.

We may have to make our own. Just sayin', it seems like it's theoretically possible already. Carl made motw already, I was just looking forward to more being remade in World by Spike. I'll be moving towards using Carl's version now. My bad, you were talking Fire Promoter and I was thinking Fighting Road. Basically I feel like FPW is enough of a sandbox and the community is talented enough that we can do anything Spike can do and more. It may not be as polished - and I would have said as bug-free but now I think we'd easily top them on that front. I will probably end up disabling updates and hoping Carl finds the time and desire down the road, and that Spike doesn't mess up anything too badly that would keep him from wanting to do so. But if they do, then I plan to develop Old School Oni's Firepro World by Old School Oni Featuring Old School Oni, if only for my personal use. I spent 10 years modding a crappy RTS game called Freedom Force which came with original 60's-style comic book characters and like two dozen levels. By the time I was done, I had something like 450 additional levels, 1800 characters, 3 full game replacements with plots, and you could type a couple of numbers in and Ash and The Man with No Name (Clint Eastwood) would play capture the flag with Spider-Man and Firestorm, not that that's a very good match up. The will is there, I just need lots and lots of time.

Damn this is sad.
I'm probably gonna play the ps4 version more now, to get that content, and put the PC version into offline.
I'm not expecting much, and I'm feeling like this high we've been on for the past year is grinding to a halt.
Pc will be world, PS4 will be for the NJPW content.
This is like having 2 memory cards with R, something I never did because there's no compatibility between edits, something I hate.
I'm not gonna try and update an edit on both.
God damnit, this blows.

In game properties, set Automatic Updates to "only update the game when I launch it".

Honestly, killing the WiFi connection would probably be the easiest. The laptop is basically only for Fire Pro and sending invoices for our business.
