I can't stop playing poker online I'm hearing good things about the multiplayer updates. Glad you're enjoying the poker 🃏 I may consider jumping into it over the summer but I want to finish single player first. It's been exactly 4 months since my last post in this thread where I said I got to Chapter 3. And uh, I haven't played one bit since. I just wasn't ready to dive back in and explore that Chapter after putting so much into Chapter 2. I wanted some time to pass but then too much time passed and I got too busy. I'm gonna carve out some time in the summer to get into Chapter 3 and hopefully can finish the game by like, the Fall. Even RDR 1 just took me 3 months. This may take me a year! 😁

I think I only have a few missions left in Chapter 6. Been a hell of a ride. Heh. Ride.

I think I only have a few missions left in Chapter 6. Been a hell of a ride. Heh. Ride. I need to get back to the story some day, but any time I boot up RDR2, I just enjoy living the outlaw life with Arthur Morgan. Good seeing you around, Wondy.

I'm perpetually stuck in I think chapter 3. I dont know for sure because I cant pull myself back into the story (which dont get me wrong, is fantastic) because the allure of just roaming the countryside fucking around is too strong. When its all said and done this is probably in my top 3 favorite games of all time...

When its all said and done this is probably in my top 3 favorite games of all time... Same. I started free-roam hunting to expand my satchel space and that kinda became my driving motivator. Hunting, camping up in the mountains, exploring the world. Come back and shave my mountain beard off and head back out again. Apparently, this 1890s hunting game has a story, too, though!

I completely love this game but it's too much for me. The free roam plus the story just suck me right in to the point that I start to schedule my entire day around it 😁
So I've had to take breaks and have done so right after finishing chapters.
I don't 100% remember the last time I played but i think it was late June/early July. I finished Chapter 3, ...then decided to take a break. I realized the last few days that I've basically been treating the game like seasons of a Netflix show. Start a season/chapter, binge through all the episodes and play a ton of free roam, then pause for a few months after I complete the chapter. Then something gets me back into it like news about the game or my innate desire to get lost in a world like that, and I'm off and running again for a few months!
It's awesome timing that Wondy came back in (p.s. where were u wondy & where is my burrito!?) to post about this (classic EC/WC L connection we have) cause I've had started getting the feeling of heading back in. Would love to finish the next chapter. I know it's gonna end up taking me like a year and a half to finish this game but I'm fine doing it at my own pace, enjoying it, and eventually finishing it.
It's almost impossible for me to play it while I'm also really deep in Fire Pro though. It's like between the two games alone, I could easily spend 30 hours in one day playing them both 🎮😴

I'll be starting this mid-winter. I wanted the outside temperature to match the in-game one lol.

So I have seen. I like these open world games in winter though. Something about the season.

LOL this thread got me feeling a comeback!
So I just turned on my PS4 to play... only to have to download an hour patch 🤷♂️
I'll get a little time in though. I think it's best to just take it slow and re-acclimate before doing any missions. I kinda want to just go to a town and cause a ruckus. Van Horn is great for that kind of thing.
As for the in-game weather, one of the first things in RDR 2 that blew me away was the way they did the snow and the actual tracks the characters would make. I haven't gone back to a snowy area for a while though.

Man... so I've officially bounced back into the game this past week, wanting to push along the main story a bit more. But before I could get there I spent half a day getting side tracked by serial killer and a circus promoter in need before I found myself back in the mountains wandering around. I seriously think its going to take me another year to finish this beautiful game haha...

Undead Nightmare II DLC coming for Halloween??? Wow, I was just thinking about this possibility a few days ago. I really hope they do it. They've concentrated so much on the multiplayer and I really want more single player options and DLC. I think Undead in RDR 2 would be incredible given all of the different areas and things we can do. I want to see if one arrow can go through the heads of two zombies standing in front of each other 🏹🧟♂️🧟♂️ Man... so I've officially bounced back into the game this past week, wanting to push along the main story a bit much. But before I could get there I spent half a day getting side tracked by serial killer and a circus promoter in need before I found myself back in the mountains wandering around. I seriously think its going to take me another year to finish this beautiful game haha... I really liked the circus promoter story line! ✨🎭 I had some fun a couple of days ago with a surprisingly cool and funny story in the far North East area of the map. I don't want to spoil it but it follows a story that starts at San Denis. I also finished uncovering part of the central northern area of the map (not that far off from the first gang hideout) which I had neglected to travel around. The map is not 100% visible but I can see most everything that is within current story relevance to me. After a few days roaming the mountains, I ended the night by getting Arthur back to Rhodes just so I can get ready to resume storylines next time I play. It took me 4 months to finish RDR 1 but it's gonna take my probably a year and a half to finish 2!

It took me 4 months to finish RDR 1 but it's gonna take my probably a year and a half to finish 2! I know that feel. I've been trying to split time between this and Breath of the Wild for almost the past year (and longer than that in BOTW's case). I feel like it's gonna be like ten years before I come up looking for another game to play. And my backlog of games I already own but have yet to play still includes Horizon Zero Dawn and Witcher 3 as well. Like, if I ever get through these, I'm gonna be ruined for other games. Although at least at this point, that'll be years from now lol.

I have like three types of games now too that all compete for my time:
1) Fire Pro - a literal world onto itself that has no competition but occupies potentially 150% of my allotted playing time! (to the detriment of my allotted sleep time!)
2) Fighting games - right now there is competition between KOF 2002: UM (my staple over the past 10 years), KOF XIV (an awesome game in its own right), and the new Samurai Shodown (also awesome). I find it difficult to play any two of these games at the same time. But I usually play one of them like once a week.
3) Open World/Adventure games - right now it's Red Dead 2 and it will be for a long time. The original RDR lasted me for an initial 2-3 years with only Sleeping Dogs able to really make a dent before RDR came back before RDR 2 came out. The entire PS3 generation for me was basically RDR and Sleeping Dogs. I bought, briefly enjoyed, then quickly lost interest in GTA 5 mainly because it didn't have the lasso and grappling from the other two. Games like this don't come around often but they last me a long time. I don't really know what the next one even could be. I don't have even have another game like this on my Steam backlog. I can't even imagine a post-RDR 2 gaming life at this point! Maybe GTA 6? Something else entirely? 😲
