General Japanese Wrestling Thread

My phrasing was very clumsy. I tried using the Fire Pro World descriptor.

I meant the big pads that remind me of the kind seen in boxing rings.

Seems like many Japanese promotions switched to them. I remember All Japan using the American style, albeit AJPW seemed bigger. For the sponsorship aspect, I remember that AJPW had logos from sponsors on their turnbuckles in the late 1990s. In the 1990s NJPW had the cylinder cover, and they had BVD Body Gear on it while the mat was decked out with BVD all over the ring.

I guess maybe safety and an ease to set up...House of Torture and Toru Yano seem to be able to remove them quickly in their matches.

G-1 Climax is finally over. The Semi finals and Finals were good though.

In watching New Japan...I am so tired of House of Torture though. I haven't had NJPW World for long, but it's already a bit wearisome.

Although AJPW's small roster makes things a bit repetitive, I am still enjoying that. Seeing new factions Elpida and the Hokuto Army might shake things up.

I have no idea if anyone is gonna beat the Saito Brothers anytime soon.

I resubscribed to Wrestle Universe...so I see now they added Sendai Girls, Marigold, Zero1 and Michinoku Pro? Holy crap, that's a lot. I saw a couple of TJPW shows, yesterday's Sendai Girls' event and I am currently going through the newest DDT show before catching up with NOAH and Marigold.

It's a wrestling overload, but truthfully, I don't watch any other sports, and I don't like a lot of new TV, so this suits me just fine.

So Marigold...I am a fan. I saw the Giulia farewell, and the event from earlier today. Marigold is awesome. Mai Sakurai and Victoria Yuzuki could become the faces of that promotion in time. I wonder if Utami Hayshishita can rise up now that Giulia is WWE bound.

I need to check out TJPW Princess Cup though, as well as N-1 Victory and the Shiro Koshinaka 40th anniversary.
