I am looking for an old theme song used for a specific match between Jinsei Shinzaki and The Great Muta from 1996.
New Japan had a tendency of dubbing over certain themes that they didn't hold the copyright to for VHS/DVD releases. Such was the case with Jinsei's theme.
In it's place, was a very slow and calming instrumental. I have been trying to find the theme for years.

I've been subscribed to Wrestle Universe since August and I am still enjoying it. NOAH is my fav promotion featured, but I have to say I am really digging Ganbare Pro. I am actually getting a bit of an emotional investment.

Ganbare is really good. It has one of my favorite core rosters of any promotion today. I can never remember most of their names, but I recognize them immediately when I see them. Mizuki Watase was putting on some insanely well-told stories in his matches at the start of the year. Seeing his rise to the main event was one of the most perfect things I experienced last year leading into his title run. It was interesting to see him slowly establish his signature moves and his finisher being a big fuck-off elbow a-la Misawa. It's really cool to see someone channel their heroes in wrestling and have it sell so well.
There's tons of other wrestlers on that roster that I really love, especially their women's division. HARUKAZE is one of my favorite wrestlers today, regardless of gender. Her feud and eventual teaming with Hartley Jackson is one of the more memorable things I've seen this year. Hartley Jackson's run with the title belt centering around him being the big bad foreign heel, and slowly wittling down his bastion of solitude with love and friendship is another really good story.
Storytelling is a big deal for me and Ganbare knocks it out of the park for me every time I watch one of their shows.
Wrestle Universe has been one of the best things for my dollar - Four or five primary promotions, and then a bunch of other weird random stuff thrown in for free? It's as perfect of a platform as I could ask for.

Kim Justice back with another banger continuing the Misawa vs Kawada in ring and real life rivalry in the Part 1+2 documentary. 2 more parts to come. This is probably the best youtuber for Puroresu documentaries. At least the best I have found. Mandatory viewing as far as I'm concerned.

All Japan's event yesterday was solid. Minoru Suzuki, Hideki Suzuki, and Hikaru Sato were part of a solid 6 man. The DDT vs AJPW tag match was good. Young guys like Rising HAYATO continue to impress. The Saito Brothers stand strong and Nakajima still reigns.
I was surprised seeing one match in AJPW. I guess I'm out of it. Six man tag with Onryo, Mr. Pogo, Great Kojika and Atsushi Onita as participants.

I am really invested in All Japan. Suwama and Suzuki as "odd couple" tag team champions is fun. Nakajima is doing well as Triple Crown champion and although I kinda roll my eyes at Rising HAYATO's androgynous mannerisms and look, there is no denying his talent and he is a great Junior Champion. The matches between MUSASHI and HAYATO and Nakajima vs Anzai should be good.
As it's only around $5.85 a month, I also signed up for BJW Core. I have not really not seen much of BJW, I am just familiar with the old guard I would have seen in Fire Pro Returns. However, I am intrigued by the fact they have a Strong Championship and a Deathmatch championship.
So for around $11 a month, I get to enjoy two solid pro wrestling companies.

I finished the Dream Power Series yesterday. Good tour, except for the death of Yoshie. The event from March 30 as great. SPOILERS....
While I am not a fan of "kawaii" (or however it's spelled) joshi, the Act'Wres match as enjoyable. Kouki is solid.
Ren Ayabe becoming an official part of the AJPW roster was cool to see. Miyahara giving Ayabe his track team jacket was a great moment. I have to say, seeing different promotions have those track suits is awesome. It's been done for years, but it looks awesome.
Now that Onita lost the All Asia Tag Titles, I hope to never see a Current Blast Bat Deathmatch in AJPW ever again.
TARU ending Voodoo Murders after the Saito reclamation of the world tag was unexpected, but good. I'd like to see the Saito Bros. just build their own name.
I've enjoyed watching MUSASHI. So much so I subscribed to the Michinoku Pro YouTube channel, but I have been disappointed with that channel. I hope to see more of MUSASHI iN AJPW. I wuld love to see him take the GAORA TV title from that Tanibachi goof.
Rising HAYATO...while I don't like the androgynous look personally, HAYATO is so smooth and fluid. Much respect for the in-ring ability. He nominated Kaz Hayashi from GLEAT to be the next challenger.
Anzai winning the Triple Crown at 24 years old, impressive. Winning it after a year and a half...mind-blowing. It was a great match with Nakajima, his kicks are nice. I was expecting Nakajima to win, so this actually surprised me.
I also subscribed to BJW Core. I know there was a big event with multiple title matches back on March 20. I think it aired on Samurai TV yesterday and in niconico.jp...so I am just waiting for it to be added to BJw Core. At 888 yen (approx. $5.85 USD), it's a bargain. AJPW.tv is 900 yen (approx $6.23 USD) so I get two solid companies for a low price.

Lately, I have been following The Great Muta's farewell matches. Even with a noted history of replacement knee surgeries and torn muscles, Mutoh was noticeably in pain. The years leading up to Muta's sendoff was just as wincing; as footage of a slowed-down Mutoh going for the space rolling elbow were hard to watch.
Years ago, it was Gary Hart who wrote in his book that he worried for Mutoh's knees when the young talent first began performing the Moonsault.
Yet, how many legends can safely say they've staged three retirement matches for two separate gimmicks? How about a short-lived retirement match for Mutoh's Moonsault?

Gimmick-wise, as The Great Muta was billed as the 'son' of The Great Kabuki; the lineage continues.
One of the last angles Muta was involved with pre-retirement involved the creation of Great Sakuya; the first-ever officially-sanctioned female counterpart to The Great Muta.
Over the years, many Wrestlers have donned the Muta-esque gimmick: Great Bono (Akebono) Great Koji (Satoshi Kojima) Great Sanada (Sanada) Marufuji (Naomichi Marufuji) Great Nita (Atsushi Onita) The Great Muta (Johnny Stamboli) The Not So Great Muta (Eric Young) Great Little Muta (Little Frankie, I believe)
...and that's not including the likes of modern-day Asuka or Tajiri.

Quick question, why are more Japanese wrestling companies switching to the "triangular" turnbuckle cover? I saw it with NJPW, then when I had Wrestle Universe, I saw it with DDT, Ganbare and TJPW. All Japan uses the same style turnbuckle cover. I recently subscribed to Osaka Pro's YouTube channel, they use it. I also follow Best Body Japan on YouTube, they use it as well. How/Why is it popular?
