Hmm, mostly been ignoring Star Wars related news lately, but the Mandalorian sounds promising. Pedro Pascal AND Dylan, uh, Apollo Creed, uh, I mean CARL mf’ing WEATHERS! Favareau at the helm sounding like he’s put together a good team to direct and write with, this might be a heater. Too bad it’s on disney’s Pay thingy, still, looks cool!

Me again, Canuckistan FINALLY got adult swim (universal healthcare but no adult swim, we’re savages, I know) and I’ve been enjoying such classics as aqua teen hunger force, Harvey birdman, space ghost, samurai jack as well as newer fair like black Jesus, lazor wulf and rewatching some Rick and morty. One description caught my eye for no apparent reason though, MR PICKLES!
Without spoiling much, mr pickles is a border collie sent to earth from some plane of hell, loves his owner Tommy, a nice dill pickle treat, prostitutes, murder, blood, sex, and creating chaos on earth. Think lassie meets ugly Americans, but funnier and more irreverent. Check this one out!

What a fantastic episode of Game of Thrones tonight. I'll avoid spoilery stuff since I know some people are still catching up to the current season. An entire episode of nothing but dialogue but the somber tone and last hurrahs as many of the central characters of the series are together in one place for the first and likely last time in the entire series. Next episode is going to be a big one and I expect a pretty high body count from the main roster.

More breaking news from five years ago! I’ve been enjoying adult swim’s odd offerings, including Eric Andre (I had to check to see if he’s still alive, I don’t know how you can be that manic and not have had a heart attack by now!), and Black Jesus!
Black Jesus is great (created by Aaron McGruder of the Boondocks and Mike Clattenburg of Trailerpark Boys fame), and the show is totally stolen by two of my favourite Boondocks alumni, John “grandad” Witherspoon and Charlie Murphy (RIP). It’s great to see how those guys play off of one another, great timing and just some really classic shit there. I miss Charlie Murphy’s deadpan delivery and timing, and Whitherspoon plays an opportunistic bum to a tee! The rest of the cast is great, too, but it’s so fun to see Murphy and Whitherspoon work together. Fun show if you don’t mind fun pokes at religion.

Oh wow, I didn't realize that Aaron McGruder was one of the creators of "Black Jesus." Boondocks is such an incredible and underrated show. The Dodgeball episode remains one of my favorite "sports anime" episodes of all time.
So I started and finished Cobra Kai Season 2 in two nights. Season 1 was my favorite show last year and Season 2 just about did it this year too. I'm blown away by the last episode. Really hope we get a Season 3. The way this show built onto the original movies with deeper philosophy and shades of grey character interaction has been incredible.
I watched the Supernatural season finale two nights ago too and was pretty shocked at the last episode. The final season starts in September and it looks to be pretty chaotic in the best way possible.

I’d love to check out Cobra Kai, it would be cool to see how they’d handle that branch of the story, sounds like it would be cool. Kinda cool to see traditional martial arts represented in a show without it being some bastardized mish mash of shit like they did with Iron Fist (shudder), especially with how popular mixed martial arts is these days.

The first two episodes of Season 1 and the first episode of Season 2 are all free to watch :) Episode 1 of Season 1It's subscription based after that but Youtube Premium encourages you to create a 1-month free trial 😎 It is absolutely my favorite show of the past two years. And the fighting is really good. There's some aspects of MMA that have found their way into the style but it has as traditional approach as well. There are some excellent fights in the series that occur in tournaments and in unexpected places.

The Battle of Winterfell was pretty amazing. The episode had some epic things, but also some head scratching moments as well, especially from the tactical point of view of the battle. Even someone who has played a Total War game could pick out some glaring strategic blunders on the part of Winterfell. Most of my predictions came true, especially the outcome and a lot of the deaths I predicted came true aside from one.
One of the reasons I am still looking forward to GRRM finishing the books is because I think he will do better than the TV series. The Night King hasn't even shown up in the books yet and I think he will play a more important role than just a stand in badguy as he did in the show. A lot of people complained about how dark the episode was, but it worked out well as for practical purposes it was to mask a lot of the digital special effects required for the battle, but also it fits canon wise as the White Walkers don't come out in the day time. Also the blinding snow squall they magically created. That was right from the books as well. When the wights attacked the Night's Watch at the Fist, the very first thing that starts to happen is a blinding snow storm.
Three episodes left, it will be interesting to see what happens, especially with the arrival of the Golden Company in King's Landing and if they will stay loyal to Cersei when they find out Targaryens are still around.
Of the five spin-off Game of Thrones TV pilots HBO has commissioned, the news just came out that they have rejected one so far but didn't say which one.

Finally got caught up on Supernatural...
I loved the ending to season 14. I think sets up the final season it an awesome way. The motorhead song was really fitting. They've gone up against every kind of ghost, monster, demon, angel, arch-angel there is. There is really only one thing left for them to go up against...God. I'm sad that it's the last season, but I'm also very excited for season 15.

I'm sad that it's the last season, but I'm also very excited for season 15. YES! Glad that you saw it too!! I never heard that song before but it was haunting and PERFECT here! I watched that final episode montage, set to the music, like 5 times. It was really powerful.
Totally agree that they chose a great antagonist for the final season. I'm very curious to see if/how Amara plays into this as well as that "Entity" from the Empty. I'm also not sure if it was Lucifer or the Entity standing next to Billie/Death when Jack woke up from the Empty. I think it was Lucifer though.
I'm also sad that it's the last season but thrilled that they actually have planned next season as the last season rather than having the network cancel on them when they weren't ready and then have to quickly adlib an ending that didn't really fit how they wanted to end the series. The fact they can plan this out means they really have the chance of giving us a satisfying and decisive ending. I'm really thankful that they made the choice to end on a decisive and intentional note rather than just keep going and leave their fate up to the network.
And I think the actors will put in that last oomph to really make the season special. I think back to so many shows I loved that ended before they were planned to end and there's always that anticlimactic feel. A show like Angel, which is in the same overall genre, deserved to go out on its own but was canceled and the ending felt kind of rushed as a result, despite having a pretty cool last episode. The arc of the season didn't necessarily logically lead to that last episode cause I don't think they knew it was going to be the last season when it was initially constructed. Supernatural won't have that issue.

Yeah, I've watched the last scene on youtube a few times now. I've never heard that song before either. I like Motorhead but not to the own every album level. But it's my new favorite song at the moment lol.
I didn't think about it being Lucifer in the Empty. I assumed it was the Entity because it and Death were having a squabble about which one of them should get Jack. And boy, what a heel turn by God? I always thought he was kind of nerfed in the show. But he got pissed and killed Jack like it was nothing. That revealed he really was all powerful and could have helped out all those times but chose not to for his own entertainment. Turns out all those things Michael and Lucifer said about God were true. I would think Amara would have to get involved somehow, as she is the only one power wise, who can stand up to Chuck/God. Plus now they have all the ghost who they've put away over the years escaping from hell(Which kinda reminded me of Ghostbusters in a way) and proper zombies to deal with lol. I'm still hoping for a Crowley return, even though I know he died in the Alt world and would be in that world's Hell, not this one. I also can't help but think back to something Michael said, "even God can die". Even though the Alt world Michael is dead, there is still this world's Michael locked in the cage if I remember right. I can see them seeking him out to find out how.
I agree it being a good thing they get to plan out the ending. It's better than a last minute half-assed one. Also better than them going too long and the story losing it's focus and becoming way too contrived and nonsensical like the X-Files.

That Motorhead song was my favorite song for like two weeks after that 😎
At first I also thought it was the Entity since I figured the story here was Billie and the Entity joining forces out of necessity to recruit Jack to face Chuck. But when I read some impressions of the finale online, a lot of people thought it was Lucifer. I'm still not really sure. He made that little smile motion with his fingers which feels kind of Lucifer-like. The Entity wanted Jack in the Empty but Lucifer also has a clear connection to Jack. I feel like Lucifer is a stronger series character but the Entity may actually be a legitimate 1 on 1 match for Chuck (and even Chuck + Amara) so the stakes could be higher. It's definitely one of them but we won't probably find out til the next season starts!
I love when Jack sent Lucifer back to the Empty, by the way. That was such an awesome scene!
I feel like Amara may end up not being in the finale season cause she was kind of thrown on the backburner with that Chuck comment that she was in Vegas or something like that. Much like you said, Chuck was clearly stronger than he let on. It makes me think that Amara is not who Chuck originally claimed she was. Like he's far more powerful and maybe she was just another story set piece to begin with.
I feel like Chuck, the character, was actually an actor in the show much as he originally played the "writer" character. The theme of the last episode was that writers lie and he's lied to them so many times. It may turn out that the Chuck who we thought was in danger against Amara was never really in danger at all. And that he was just essentially play acting (like a face in peril) to allow the Amara story to be told properly.
Like you said, Chuck is clearly more powerful than he let on. He dusted Jack in a second.
One thing I'm a little concerned about is that this whole storyline with an evil writer forcing characters to live a good story is similar to the entire Metatron season. Granted the stakes are much higher now but I got a lot of vibes from that story in the season finale.
I hope they don't kill Chuck by like breaking a pen or something, LOL.
Michael is still in the cage but I think he's insane. Doesn't mean he can't still be a force though.
I really, really want Crowley back but I don't think it will happen. There was a major falling out behind the scenes between him and the team, and they didn't include all of Crowley's final speech as they said they would. There's a lot of hard feelings there. Maybe he could set them aside for a moment in the series finale though. I miss him too. Crowley is easily Top 5 favorite characters for me. He's an excellent actor in general.
And before Billie took over as Death, the original Death said that one day he would reap God.
I'm glad they are going to have an entire season to wrap things up and am really excited for it. But it's definitely going to be sad when the series finally ends, even if it goes out incredibly.

Four episodes into HBO's Chernobyl mini series. Really well done once you get used to all the actors speaking english. A retelling of the Chernobyl disaster and the following days of the Soviets both simultaneously trying to contain the disaster and keep it under wraps from not only international eyes, but the local population as well.

Anyone see the show Knight Fight, hosted by Christian (as in “edge and” wwe guy)? Crazy shit, I don’t know how everyone doesn’t end up concussed at the very least. I can see busted fingers, ribs, jacked up shoulders happening, it’s lunacy. Guys in armour fighting with weapons (axes, swords, maces, flails, etc), punching each other, kicking each other, all kinds of shit. Not a lot of technique, and looks like an insurance nightmare, but it’s kind of like extreme LARPing. Train wreck kind of thing, but entertaining none the less.
