I'm a big fan of the Trailer Park Boys, filmed in and around Halifax, Nova Scotia, a show about a bunch of lovable losers trying to make their way in this unforgiving and cruel world. Great stuff if you've never seen it (It really kicks off in Season 3, although there's some good stuff in season two as well). I've been a fan for ages, and I guarantee if you give it a shot, you'll not only love it, but you'll find that at least one or two characters will remind you of someone in your life (or maybe the fact that a few of them remind me of people I know means I'm f%&ked?!?!). With my impeccable taste for series viewing in mind, I come here to recommend another, quite similar series that for some strange reason drew me to it without ever hearing of it previously. The series is called Hardy Bucks, and seems to be an Irish version of the TPB, and so far I love it! I'm learning all kinds of things, especially that I can watch the Hardy Bucks to catch some good craic, not to go to crazy while out with the boys and get steamboats, and that my phone isn't a broken piece of shit, it's banjaxed. If you want a bit of an education and a good laugh, check these guys out. The show is a bit odd, but it's a lot of fun!

I was listening to Jim Cornette's podcast (judge away...) a couple of weeks ago and he mentioned a couple of shows he was watching, both sounded interesting, and for some reason, I remembered that I wanted to check out Mike Judge's Tales From the Tour Bus. I don't know if anyone here has checked this out yet, but it's a pretty cool premise. Season one is all country music, season two is funk/R&B. Band members, agents, lawyers, etc are interviewed and various stories about featured artists are related. I watched episode one of season one today, all about Johnny Paycheck, what an outlaw nutcase (and Charlie Manson lookalike!)! I'm not a country music fan, but recognize a lot of his songs, and the dude had a pretty amazing voice and some real musical talent, but what a TRAIN WRECK! I can't see how anyone could watch this show and not find it interesting, the stories are great, usually shocking, and always pretty funny in a sad, holy shit, that was a dumb move way. Give it a go, you won't be disappointed, and you'll get to see sweet album covers like THIS one!

Bit of a nostalgia run, went back and re-watched all of Firefly+Serenity and am currently working through Almost Human, Karl Urban's long forgotten short lived TV series from six or so years ago.

Looks like we have two Alien TV series in the works with Ridley Scott and James Cameron hinted at getting involved with Neill Blomkamp's Alien film which would retcon the Alien franchise back to the second film and pick up from there. Blomkamp's script may borrow heavily from William Gibson's original script for Alien 3 in which Newt, Hicks and Ripley all survive. Both Micheal Biehn and Sigourney Weaver said last year they would be interested in reprising their roles.

Just watched seasons 1-4 of Vikings. Man how did this show slip under my radar for so long?
Also caught seasons 1-3 of Fear the Walking Dead. First 2 seasons were ok, It was interesting to see what it was like when it started. Season 3 was pretty good imo, better than TWD had been in a while. I haven't seen 4 yet but I've heard it pretty much reboots the show, which to me is kind of a shame seeing it was finally finding its own in season 3.

Trying to make it through the books before April 14th. Over the halfway point now. Just re-read the Battle of the Fist section again. Such a shame the show didn't film that battle, or more of a slaughter and fighting retreat I should say. I can understand the budgetary reasons behind it when the show was still only a season or two in and was still snowballing in popularity. Read a couple news articles that mentioned there will be a battle in the last season that beat the Lord of the Rings Helm's Deep battle for longest filmed battle sequence on film. The Helm's Deep battle in The Two Towers was about 40 minutes long which means one of the Game of Thrones battles is going to be nearly an entire episodes length to beat that.

Anyone here checking out Love Death and Robots yet? It’s pretty sweet, somewhere between dark mirror and heavy metal. So far the Three Robots episode is my favourite, but The Witness has a really cool art style to it, an animation filter over live acting, but with really vivid colours and a bright, blade runner style Hong Kong (looks like HK...). The episodes can be pretty graphic and I’m surprised Netflix will show some of this stuff, but happy they’re willing to take a chance while also respecting their audiences ability to chose what they should be able to consume. Cool stuff so far!
Update: Sucker of Souls is a bad ass ep as well, funny shit! :)

If you were a fan of Season 1 of Cobra Kai, then you're probably salivating at this like I am 😲 Also, just found out that Season 15 of Supernatural (next season) will be its last. I applaud them for getting out now as I think its the right time and I LOVE that they will be able to dedicate an entire season to its finale. So many shows never get the chance because they are canceled. Knowing that the next season will be the last and planning for that to happen is a great way to handle things. Hopefully there won't be any filler and that the 20 episodes are just straight on narrative to the finish like the first, middle, and ends of each recent season.

Engraved on a Nation: Omega Man Kenny Omega doc was pretty bad ass. Cool to see a feature about pro wrestling as part of a series about cornerstones of Canadian sports history in the first place, but also to feature someone other than Bret Hart. Good stuff here, gives me hope for a future for pro wrestling that doesn’t involve an intellectual and creative monopoly, the “Kleenex” or “Bandaid” of the sport won’t be tolerated as the only option. Cool to see pro wrestling appealing to society’s margins again to build momentum. Check this one out, even if you’re not an Omega fan.
