Watched all 4 seasons of The Strain back to back over the last few days. Now I gotta install Days Gone on the PS5.

Late to the party, but I've begun watching Black Mirror. Noticing many similarities to Twilight Zone, I decided to step back and delve into 'Zone first.
Being a fan of film noir, it's been great to binge watch night after night. Many of times, I'll play episodes while scanning guides here on the Critical Clum forums.

Think I’m done with The Boys tv series. They’re completely off from the source material now and that’s tragic because of how good the comic is. At least season 2 of House of the Dragon starts today.

Good start to season two of House of the Dragon, finally got the Blood & Cheese event from the book, although in the show they slightly altered it, but book readers knew it was coming soon.

Kinnikuman perfect origin arc anime series first two episodes are on Netflix! 🤤 Episode 00 is a recap of the Kinnikuman universe, really well done explaining who every one is. About to start episode 01. This is definitely a series I think I will end up buying. Of course Netflix won't put it out physically, but those Malaysian bootleggers will put it out at least on DVD. I've actually found that the original manga is available to read online. It starts off pretty campy but from one review I watched, it gets pretty dark and brutal as it picks up steam. And now I want all the figures again. I see on Ebay you can buy big box sets of the full series of figures right from Japan, just gotta make sure they sell internationally.

Episode 00 is a recap of the Kinnikuman universe, really well done explaining who every one is. Oooh, nice! I'm glad there is a recap. Just added this to the ole watchlist! I finished the first third of Cobra Kai Season 6. People are giving it mixed reviews compared to the previous seasons but for the most part I really liked it. Definitely looking forward to part 2 in November. I'm not sure if it will top Season 5 (especially the last episode) but I still think it's going to stick the landing for the series as a whole.

So I’m finding the Kinnikuman show on Netflix almost hard to watch, it’s like WWE in a way, too much godamned yapping, not enough match! Also like WWE, as soon as a match does start, the episode is over (commercial…). The weekly episode drop is hard, especially with all of the recaps done in the first two episodes, but I’m holding out hope that they’ll turn up the action soon and blow me away. They’d better do it soon though, these series on Netflix are usually only eight to ten episodes long, and we’ve already gone through four. 🤞

Hallo Daffu! Did you go to and/or enjoy EVO this year? 🤜 So I’m finding the Kinnikuman show on Netflix almost hard to watch, it’s like WWE in a way, too much godamned yapping, not enough match! 🤞 Yeah, the pacing and content of this sounds very disappointing. I guess they want to appeal to a broad audience here but it doesn't sound like they are presenting anything with sticking power.

Netflix strikes again with more pro wrestling from Japan with Queen of the Villains, chronicling the genesis of Dump Matsumoto, and some loose storytelling about the All Japan women’s wrestling situation of the mid/late 80s. I don’t know a ton of the history of the women’s group from back then, I did check out matches from that era after hearing how bad ass those women were, so I know the majority of the names, I have no idea how well the true story is being represented, but I’m finding it entertaining.
Hearing the announcers and seeing the crowd reactions makes it feel like the period is recreated well, and the in ring stuff is actually fun to watch. Yuriyan Retriever As Kaoru Matsumoto is somehow mesmerizing to watch, she’s sweet, troubled, awkward, and pathetic looking, but you can’t take your eyes off of her! I can’t wait to see her fully transform (I’m three and a half episodes in so far).
Give this a shot if you’re interested. I love the eighties Japan vibe, hearing the announcers, and really just the whole feel of the show. I honestly have no use for current Joshi stuff or most women’s pro wrestling outside of Joshi, but this is really entertaining without having to be invested in any current women’s wrestling. Check it out!

Anyone else here give Sanctuary on Netflix a shot yet? I’ve always been interested in Sumo, and I put this on my list, but it must have gotten pushed back. It showed up again because of my recent Queen of the Villains binge, so far (finished episode 3, kind of a simple story of someone with raw ability and great attributes that is too undisciplined and has no respect for the basics coming to that moment of enlightenment over time, but in a good way) it’s good!
