I checked out the WWE Rivals episode featuring Eddie Guerrero and Rey Mysterio. I found it odd that Kevin Nash was part of the “panel” (I don’t understand what the panel is there for…) since I seem to recall him completely dismissing everyone other than the monsters in WCW back in the day. The whole thing was pretty good, made me realize once again how much I miss Eddie, he was just so bad ass, and his matches with Rey, who I’ve always had a bit of a soft spot for even though I can’t claim to be a super fan, always had some magic to them. I think Eddie was a bit like Flair and Terry Funk in that he could make his opponent like like a million bucks in the ring if he liked you. Cool, if not a bit too truncated recollection of Rey and Eddie’s time in pro wrestling (the match was awesome, but the custody papers for Dominic (papi on a pole match?!) hanging above the ring summerslam ‘05 was kind of hilarious).
It seems odd to dedicate an entire episode to these guys and shine the legacy of them in pro wrestling history, but from what I’ve read, Rey is getting his ass handed to him on a regular basis on WWE TV these days. These guys make some very odd decisions creatively.

Oh, okay, I guess I can see the logic in that? I’ve also read Dominic is not his dad, I hope burying Rey pays off for his son.

Sigh.
The first two episodes of Amazon's Ring's of Power are out and it's bad.
This glittering, goofy abomination is Tolkien in name only: a confused billion dollar fan-fiction that is quite transparently designed to evoke Peter Jackson's (superior) LOTR trilogy at every turn, in brazen pursuit of those sweet sweet nostalgia dollars. It's appalling: more than half of the characters in the show do not exist in the source material, and those that do are barely recognizable. Even if you ignore the cheap looking costumes, unlikable characters, wildly inconsistent tone, awful casting, over reliance on CGI, cringe-inducing dialogue and accents, and the completely wilful disregard for Tolkien's lore....Amazon's Rings of Power is just a subpar generic fantasy story. I still can't quite comprehend how two dudes with no credentials whatsoever were handed control of this massive project...Two nobodies honestly thought they could write an epic that would pass for Tolkien's work, and surprise, surprise, it's amateur hour.
It's got an admittedly great score (though the show insists on pounding you with it constantly) and stellar visual effects, but everything else is so deeply disappointing. They had Tolkien. TOLKIEN. And they gave us a highly polished turd. Episode two is where my journey ends.

Checked out Edge and Rey bios, wasn’t really interested when I saw edge advertised, but it ended up being really good! A nice pallet cleanse after the train wrecks some of the others have been. I missed the majority of the Rated R Superstar era, so most of that part of the bio was new to me. Edge looks as good, if not better now, than he ever has! The early footage as well as the recent stuff of Rey was really cool, I love that he just has some fan making his outfits and masks for him! Cool to see a bit about the original Rey Mysterio and the origin of the name itself! Both of these bios were good, it was cool seeing Konan young and JACKED, the years have not been kind to him!
Observations:
Rey’s dad looks like Regis Philbin
What’s with John Cena in these A&E bios? Is he channeling Vince with that style of suit and that hairdo?

I'm currently on a long weekend break with our labor day Holiday on Monday and decided I would give the Lord of the Rings a shot. I cannot get through the first episode without falling asleep. I've tried several times and I just can't do it. I lose interest real fast and start looking at my phone. Also seeing Tolkien Elves with contemporary haircuts is also really annoying me. The Elves don't seem like Elves at all and more like cosplayers. And why is Elrond now all of a sudden a princing, mincing, BFF to Galadriel when he was cutting the the heads off orcs and fighting on the front lines? I'm not deep into the Tolkien lore as I am other things like A Song of Fire and Ice and Warhammer Fantasy, but I recognize some major character bastardization taking place. At least a new episode of House of the Dragon to look forward to before I go back to work.
EDIT: And the new season of Rick and Morty starts tonight as well.

Looking forward to the new season of Rick and Morty.
The last one ended intriguingly and the creators promise a little more continuity from now on. Parts of the last two seasons just felt weird at times but it seemed they have a clear vision going forward.
I'm also excited because Season 5 of Cobra Kai debuts on Friday, September 9! 🥋

House of the Dragon hit it out of the park tonight. What a set up for the Dance of Dragons.

Season 5 may have been the best season yet of the Cobra Kai series 😎
If you were a big fan of Karate Kid 3 as I am, then this will be right up your alley.
Finished it last night and I'm still totally blown away by it 👏

Cyberpunk Edgerunners out now. 1 episode in and so far so good.
EDIT: 3 episodes in. This will be a blu ray purchase when it releases. Loving the OST. I guess most of the music comes from the game, but I have yet to play the game so it's all new to me.

So yeah, Amazon can suck a dick.
After they released their Rings of Power TV show, they put a 7 day delay on being able to leave a review on the site, in an effort to combat trolling/review bombing. They claimed in the press that they were taking their time to check each review and make sure they were from actual viewers and not bots or trolls. Eventually reviews started showing up on the site and I've been checking them semi regularly because I'm curious.
When I looked at Amazon yesterday, Rings of Power had almost 16,000 reviews. Approx 21% were 1-star and the overall rating was 3.2/5 These were the curated reviews that Amazon had vetted and allowed through.
Today, there are fewer than 11,000 reviews and only 3% are 1-star. The overall rating has jumped to 4/5.
They straight up deleted about 5,000 negative reviews and thought no one would notice. Reviews that Amazon themselves had previously approved.
Amazon has proven that they blatantly fudge their product reviews to get the numbers they want.
They'll never get another penny from me.

I never even went back and bothered to watch any more Ring of Power after I fell asleep in through the first episode. It's been known for a while now Amazon removes negative review scores. Bezos is set to lose some major money on this project. It won't affect him personally, but the shareholders aren't going to be happy. I'm still gonna use Amazon because I do 95% of my shopping through them now, but I'm not going to watch Ring of Power. I'm even willing to give the upcoming Willow series a go, even though it looks almost like an off brand Ring of Power, which is in turn an off brand Lord of the Rings.
Anyway. I actually liked Cyberpunk Edgerunners so much I am going through it again with the Japanese language and english subtitles to see which version I prefer. I also started Curb Your Enthusiasm for the first time and binged the entire first season yesterday. I'm really liking that. Also House of the Dragon still holding up and the new season of Rick and Morty has been good so far.

Curb your enthusiasm is great, Larry David is probably my all time favourite curmudgeon. That theme song will get rammed into your head as well. I was a bit pissed when they released the Seinfeld Lego set and didn’t include Larry David. 🤣

I guess too many people on Twitter noticed and called out Amazon for deleting the negative reviews of their show, and now they've all mysteriously reappeared on the site.
smh
