Very excited for Castlevania. Only heard positive things so far. And each trailer looks excellent.
I still need to finish Season 4 of the original series 🤦♂️
Onimusha looks great too!

If DMC ends up as well executed as their castlevania series, it will be a treat!

New season of Rick and Morty has been pretty good so far, as well as Invincible 2 eps in. Also Aqua Teen Hunger Force returning November 26th. Netflix has also announced an upcoming Terminator anime.

Tonight I watched the last two episodes of Rick and Morty and was really impressed. The most recent episode was obviously huge but people shouldn't sleep on that great "spaghetti" episode either.
Glad to hear about the new season of Aqua Hunger Teen as well!
I've been missing the Mooninites for too long 😁

I’ve finished the first season, and halfway into the second of Cinemax’s Warrior show. It’s a take on late 1800s San Francisco and the plight of Chinese immigrants trying to find their piece of the American dream (sort of), and the horrible racism they face in the process. It primarily focuses on a pair of siblings, the sister already in the US, and the newly arrived brother, in search of said sister. Both have changed considerably from their last meeting, and chaos ensues as they are part of opposing gangs in Chinatown.
All of this is based loosely on ideas Bruce Lee had for a tv series, none of which would have been even remotely considered back in the 70s, and his daughter serves as an executive producer on the show. It’s quite stylized, has a gangs of New York feel to it with the costuming, and the dialogue is all in colloquial English, so it’s a bit jarring at first and takes you out of the period a bit, especially when contrasted against the old timey talk of everyone outside of Chinatown, like the predominantly Irish police force and labour union characters. I kind of stopped noticing after a while, and it’s the shows cool, edgy style I guess.
The fights are fun, but again, kinda take me out of the world a bit, the main character (played by Andrew Koji) is definitely mimicking Bruce Lee, it’s cool, he has the nuances down, but if the guy was around back then, he’d have been way more traditional with his fighting style. It’s still fun to watch, but it would have been cool if Koji could have just done his thing instead of mimicking a legend. A move or two here and there would have been good, and let Koji develop his own screen presence.
Complaints aside, I can't stop watching this show, most of the characters are interesting and they develop, and there are lots of swerves and twists. Might be worth your while to check out if any of this sounds interesting. A heads up, 98% of the Caucasians in this show are horrible racists, and the show isn’t shy about showing that to the viewer, so if that’s not your thing, maybe skip it. The show is well cast, has a unique style for a period show, and keeps me coming back for more train wreck action!

First trailer for The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare. This was the same organization the late Christopher Lee was in while in Yugoslavia during WWII.

Hazbin Hotel is my favorite TV thing in years. I fell in love with the pilot 4 years ago and they finally realized the first season this year on Prime Video.
It could have used a few more episodes to tell its story for the season (it only got 8) but it made good use of them with great characters and even greater songs (yes, it's a musical). I'm hoping that the already announced season 2: a) has at least 12 episodes and b) doesn't take another 4 years to get here.
The creator already had a cult hit of sorts with Helluva Boss and I think there's another season of that in the works but I REALLY want more Hazbin Hotel lol

Here I was thinking that I was the only person who liked Hazbin Hotel AND professional wrestling. Helluva Boss is also a good watch, too!

I know the show is old news, but I finally got around to checking out Masters of the Universe Revelation. It’s so nice to be so pleasantly surprised and to genuinely enjoy something, and revelations fulfilled those points! What a love letter to the old show, they acknowledged it as cannon, problems and all, then managed to flesh out a deep, mature, funny, and meaningful story. I devoured the whole thing in a day, and started into Revolution yesterday, and I’m sad there isn’t more. What a cool project by skilled fans of the source material, check it out if you haven’t already, especially if you were ever a fan of the original stuff! 😁
