Looks like my recent desire to go through the series has a purpose. Gonna have to start that now.

Wow, that looks awesome!! 👏
Maybe they'll re-release some M.U.S.C.L.E. action figures 😀

Anyone else here watching Pluto on Netflix? Apparently it’s a dark reimagining of part of the Astroboy story, specifically the two (three?) episode story “the strongest robot in the world”. I’m really digging this, the main character Gesicht has a bit of a Deckard from blade runner vibe to him, a homicide detective investigating robot and robot sympathizer murders as his background story and relation to the victims is revealed. There are eight episodes, and some are a bit of a slow burn, but I’m really enjoying this so far! I am a huge fan of the old (and new) astroboy anime, and the Pluto/Buruton story is a personal favourite aspect of the story line. Check this one out, it has been quite surprising and is a bit of a departure from the usual doe-eyed, chibi slapstick shit that’s out there these days.

I was just checking out the previews to this yesterday. I was very curious but wanted to hear from someone else before I drive in. I've been burned by anime before. I was wondering if it was astronomy related the one character was giving me strong astronomy vibes

If you’re looking for a ton of crazy action, this might not be for you. The first four episodes have been about fleshing out the story, how the characters are connected, backgrounds, investigations, etc. maybe the back half of this will be totally packed with action, but I doubt it. It’s still a cool story, and like I said, I’m a fan of the astroboy story, so this has all been great for me so far.

Honestly I tend to tune out when it's a ton of action so this sounds alright to me

I finished Pluto, I’m happy with the series. I went back and watched the original two part astroboy/mighty atom episodes that Pluto is based on, and it is amazing how someone could take 48 minutes of material and flesh it out into eight hours of really interesting and fairly complex story, but still manage to stick to the original plot. Like my disclaimer before, I could be biased and viewing this through the warm glow of nostalgia, but I really enjoyed this series and would recommend it to anyone looking for an interesting story.

Q Hayashida’s Dai Dark series went on sale on Amazon today so I did a spur of the moment purchase. Still trying to decide if I want to buy Dorohedoro piecemeal, wait to see if it gets the omnibus treatment or buy the slightly cheaper Malaysian bootlegs on EBay.
