Started watching Jormungand after hearing in a friend's car the other day
1 episode in and it gives me a heavy Black Lagoon vibe
given how much I love Black Lagoon (might be my favorite anime ever), that's a pretty good thing
hope it delivers

Anime is terrible. Except when it's not. Like MHA.

I actually listen to the whole Jormungand soundtrack on my mp3 player at work. I bought the entire series around the same time Black Lagoon came out just because they are so similar.
Currently watching Drifters. Famous leaders and warriors from all different time periods in history get pulled into an alternate universe to fight a war between two fantasy themed factions.

Where did you pick that set up from? I've been a mark for the series since I can remember, and I need to binge this shit once and for all. I have the movie, but I've always wanted to knock out the series. Thanks in advance! :)

May as well also use this thread for comic and graphic novel discussion as well.
Made some recent pre-orders.
If there are any Firefly fans out there, you may know that had the series continued a number or story-lines were scripted out for future seasons. Since the show was cancelled these stories have been adapted into comics. Finally they're being released in two graphic novel sets over the next couple months.
Firefly Legacy Edition 1 & 2 that collect some stories that would have made some fantastic TV story arcs had they made it that far. Also pre-ordered Firefly Volume 1, a prequel story about the Unification War that we only see a few glimpses of in the TV series.
Also on the pre-order list: Darth Vader Volume 4 of the Sith Lord series. Pretty much the only thing I like about Star Wars now is this series solely dedicated to all of Vader's activities between the films. Really expands on the character in ways the films never did. The only thing that could bring me back to the Star Wars movies now is if Vader got his own standalone series preferably inspired by the Sith Lord series of comics.
In other awesome comic news, Starcraft: Scavengers is set to release in trade paperback form this February. I love the Starcraft comics but they come out so few and far between that when I found out this was due out in a couple months I put the pre-order on as soon as I could. Also found out Dark Horse is doing another Starcraft series called Starcraft: Soldiers with the first issue coming in January. I don't think I'll be able to wait for the graphic novel version of this and will likely by them issue by issue as they come out and then pick up the graphic novel version down the line.
In the mail now: Joker. I'm not much of a Batman fan. I think the only other Batman related comic I own is the Batman / Grendel crossover graphic novel. I've read this one digitally before and absolutely loved it. Brian Azzarello's interpretation of the Joker is probably the one I like the most. The whole comic is actually from the perspective on one of Joker's lieutenant's, Jack Frost and is about the Joker re-establishing his authority in the criminal underworld upon his release from Arkham Asylum. Batman barely makes an appearance in it and Harley Quinn has a silent but gruesome cameo.
A couple of graphic novels based on Bloodborne (the PS4 game) coming out down the pipe as well. As anyone who has played the game knows, the story is rather nebulous. I loved the game but a lot of the time I didn't know what the hell was going on storywise. Hopefully this set of graphic novels will fill in the gaps. I see there is also a set of graphic novels for Dark Souls as well which may end up in the shopping cart.
Lastly, the Deadpool Assassin series is coming to graphic novel format this November so I ordered that since I've been meaning to expand my Deadpool collection for a while now.

Yeah, it's predictably ridiculous. I'm almost ashamed to admit that I've watched a dozen episodes of it (fansubbed since it won't come stateside until sometime next year) because it's stupid but the action is kind of addicting, nonsensical though it often is.

You know, I keep swearing to myself that I'm done with Shonen stuff but it seems each time that I do that, my best friend recommends me something to watch and I end up liking it. It happened recently with Dragon Ball Super and Black Clover.
Dragon Ball Super was something that I put off watching for three years because frankly, I was well "over" Dragon Ball Z nostalgia and pretty much everything to do with the series. Despite having told me about it a couple of times, my friend INSISTED that I watch it and with nothing else to watch, I finally caved and started it. I think I finished the 77 or so dubbed episodes at the time in like a month. I actually enjoyed it a lot better than Dragon Ball Z. It's everything that a continuation of the story should have been. I'm probably going to give it another month before starting to work my way through the next (and final) saga of the series.
So after finishing that, I asked for another recommendation and he told me about Black Clover. I had no idea what it was going to be about so I went in completely blind. Although it's a show that draws obvious influences from other older and more popular titles in the genre but still manages to be its own thing. Unfortunately, the main character's loud and bombastic nature is something that I've grown to dislike over the years but pretty much every other prominent character in the series is interesting/awesome enough that it's really a non-factor and despite the persona, he (Asta) still has that underdog heart that makes him easy to root for. I'm still at the beginning of the series so there's no telling how things will turn out but to the point where Asta and his friend/rival Yuno have completed their first missions, I find myself being drawn in once again.

Berserk finally getting the the compendium treatment with Berserk Deluxe Edition 1 and 2 now available for pre-order on Amazon. First one collects Volumes 1-3 and second one collects Volumes 4-6. Was going to pick up the paperbacks over time but now that the series is getting the compendium treatment I will be picking these up instead. Easier on the wallet since releases will likely be spaced out.

Six episodes into Goblin Slayer. Really liking it so far. Set in somewhat of a Dungeons & Dragons themed universe, the series even makes numerous references to it frequently. A monotone, emotionless adventurer who is never seen without his armor and helmet and simply known as Goblin Slayer has a pathological obsession for ruthlessly exterminating the creatures and refusing any quest that doesn't involve killing goblins making him both ridiculed and admired in the adventurer community.
Also just ordered another Lupin the III movie since I liked the first one I ordered so much.
