I know this show is super popular, but is the consensus here that it is any good? It always looked interesting to me, but I haven't given it a shot yet. It's being mentioned alongside Berserk, so either there is some defcon 4 blasphemy going on around here, or it's pretty decent. I've seen the big ass, el gigante looking dudes breaching city walls and eating people like little screaming snacks, but is there a moody teen prodigy that I'l have to endure? Thanks in advance! Somewhat, but for me anyway, it never got bad enough where I had to fast forward anything.
I've wondered the same thing. I used to ignore Adult Swim Saturday nights but now watch weekly for My Hero Academia and Mob Psycho 100 (which seems to be on hiatus for the time being as of two weeks ago). I always see commercials for Attack on Titan and don't quite know what to make of it. LOL @ the "moody teen prodigy" line, Bak 🤣 I hope Season 2 of One Punch Man comes out soon 👊 I think we're two months away.

They TOTALY stole El Gigante's gimmick!! Looks like El Gigante does more ab work, either that or he just eats fewer screaming villagers and horses.

LOL @ the "moody teen prodigy" line, Bak 🤣 I hope Season 2 of One Punch Man comes out soon 👊 I think we're two months away. Mob Psycho 100 has been recommended to me over and over again by my anime watching coworkers, and if you're talking about it, I'm in. And yeah, I don't think One Punch Man is far off, and I can't WAIT! Thanks for your input as well, Nth, if you're watching, Attack on Titan has to be worth checking out! SOOO many anime tropes, including but not limited to: -The gruff, giant statured team member with the heart of gold that is always ready to defuse story tension with a loud, hearty laugh. -The annoying skinny runt sidekick with huge hair (usually with some type of goggles or headband up on forehead around said huge hair) that offers comedic relief through ridiculous motions, dances, or falling over backwards with their feet in the air with shock when the protagonist lays out his plans to face the bad guys in some heroic but dangerous fashion. -The unreachable emotionally detached hot girl with some amazing skill. -The super annoying, clingy nutcase girl who is totally in love with the protagonist even though he doesn't notice. -The stoic old person that relates all of the background story through story telling flashbacks (usually told next to a raging fire that said stoic old person is roasting a fish on a stick over). -The legendary warrior (usually missing an eye or at least has a huge facial scar) that takes the protagonist under his wing (looking at YOU, moody teen prodigy who thinks he has NOTHING to learn!), but dies in combat, typically somewhere in early to mid season one to make sure the protagonist is WOKE and has to nut up and grow. Please feel free to add to this short list. :)

Dying laughing at the El Gigante comparison pics Mob Psycho 100 has been recommended to me over and over again by my anime watching coworkers, and if you're talking about it, I'm in. And yeah, I don't think One Punch Man is far off, and I can't WAIT! Mob Psycho 100 originally comes from the same person (ONE) who wrote One Punch Man. I just learned that recently and it explains a lot. There are visual and thematic similarities but Mob totally stands on its own. It is really worth watching. The first few episodes are a little slow but still entertaining - especially the relationship between Mob and his student peers as well as his boss. But once the story arc really gets going, I was hooked. It goes in some unexpected directions too. I really enjoyed every episode of Season 1 and got even more into it as it went on. The final few episodes are awesome but there are also some really great stand-out episodes toward the middle. I don't think you'll be disappointed. I can see you, specifically, really enjoying this show due to its overall tone and the stoicism of Mob laced with a fun dose of humor. The fights are more "psychic" in nature than most other anime but still plenty of physicality results. Attack on Titan has to be worth checking out! :) Sounds fun and worth watching to me! Thanks for typing all of that out. Definitely gives me an idea of this dynamic. Sounds more group-based than anything. Perhaps a little like Record of Lodoss War but against giants? Sounds like Vision of Escaflowne (one of my absolute favorites) in some ways with the specific group dynamics.

I just finished Dragon Ball Super. I started it back in August and have worked my way through all but 7 (filler) of the 131 episodes. It was a great ride and sufficiently revived my long lost love for the Dragon Ball franchise.
I really wish that I hadn't slept on Super these past years. Ah well. I'm through the series and can finally watch the Broly movie without qualms. I'm looking forward to it.

Season 2 looks awesome and Garou looks like a legitimate threat. Should be an interesting dynamic cause of how different the season is. We have the main adversary from the start (arguably since the end of last season when Garou's mentor told Saitama about him) rather than at the end like Season 1.

First two episodes of One Punch Man season 2 are up for download. Haven't watched them yet, may take a run through of season 1 again before I do.

Yeah, I kinda want to watch the last few episodes of Season 1.
Also gotta sign up for Hulu!
Do you know if a Japanese voice/English sub-title option is available?
I watched Season 1 twice with different voices and liked it both ways but slightly preferred the JP option.

Then when the blu ray comes out I buy that.

If Game of Thrones were an anime.
If Rick and Morty were an anime.

Didn't even realize Mob Psycho 100 Season 2 has already completely aired. Was expecting it much later but it started airing back in January. Getting it now and checking Amazon to see if they have a blu ray release date yet.

Picked up RedLine on a whim today. It's like if F-Zero met Rock&Roll Racing, the anime.

Berserk Deluxe Edition Volume 2 is now out for any other collectors looking for the definitive version, my copy just shipped today. Got a pre-order on Attack on Titan season 3 as well as Kabenari of the Iron Fortress which are for some reason fairly cheap considering the Amazon prime sale isn't until July 14th and 15th. Kabaneri is considered somewhat of an Attack on Titan clone, although instead of walled cities the people live in giant fortified trains called Iron Fortresses and instead of Titans wandering all over the world it's Kabaneri, a type of infected/zombie that has pretty much taken over most of the population on the planet.
