Lucy Gold: "Fans of Amazon-1, we're going go have a great year of action ahead of us and we kick it off with a great show feating Ruth Sampson defending her Grand Championship against Amazon-1 Grand Prix winner Chiyoko Akanomu. And also we begin to say farewell to one of our founding mothers, Annie Bell-Lee has opted not to re-sign with us but we're going to honor her contibutions to our company in what we're calling The Final Haunting Series. In the first match of the series she will..."

Bonnie Blair and Linda Parker step in.

Blair: "Mrs. Parker."

Linda steps forward and hands Lucy Gold a paper.

Linda Parker: "You've been served."

Lucy Gold: "What... tortious interference... multiple complaints made to the Athletic Commission..."

Blair: "We're demanding you step down. If not, we'll take this in front of the Commission... and I assure you, we'll win."

Lucy Gold: "Actually, I've submitted a case in front of the Commission concerning yourself. See, I figured out how you've been able to make other people sacrifice their championship opportunities for your own gain. You're technically their manager, and there's an old bylaw where a manager's stable can field substitutes for championships. But that bylaw was meant for tag team championships. Not singles. And you've used it for singles, and you've substituted yourself, which also isn't permitted. So if I'm going down Blair, I'm taking you with me. I'm pulling your manager's license."

Bonnie Blair: "Need I remind you that I am Amazon-1's largest sponsor?"

Lucy Gold: "Need -I- remind you that -you- don't sponsor Amazon-1. Your -father- does. You think that merits you special treatment? Well I've got news for you Blair. I -have- been giving you special treatment. If anyone else pulled half the crap you have over the years, I'd have long fired them. How about this, Blair. We'll settle this in the ring. Winner gets their way."

Bonnie Blair: "In neutral ground, of course."

Lucy Gold: "Well, we can do it in Women of Mass Destruction..."

Bonnie Blair: "Out of the question."

Lucy Gold: "Or the next South Florida United event."

Bonnie Blair: "Acceptable. I can't wait to force you to give up your job."

Lucy Gold: "Blair... I may not be the woman I once was. But I have something you've never had. Passion. Wrestling is just a hobby for you, Blair, you've said it yourself. You're here because you're bored. I'm here because wrestling is my life. This industry means everything to me and I am sick and tired of you treating it like a playground for your spoiled ass. Amazon-1 71: Akanomu vs Sampson

After our pre-show bout featuring the young technician River Reade, the Final Haunting would begin as Annie Bell-Lee joined forces with Kathy Queen and Sandra Lavender to best Bell-Lee's rivals as of late the Raiders of the Wastleland. Kellie Shark began her first full year in A-1 with a loss to fellow youngster Abby Stern with a quick rollup, while a new team of Marie St. Dumas and Ellen Farrant bested the Santa Monica Wrecking Crew when Dumas caught Requiem with the Spellbinder.

Two powerhouses collided as Alena Sturmbjorn returned to her winning ways over Jessika Struass with the Warhammer. Blair's Army gained some much needed momentum albeit by underharnded means when Bonnie Blair used the tights in a pinning combination. Meanwhile in a match with Grand Championship implications Lara Lockhart would survive a ring-shaking powerbomb from Mary MacGregor only for Mary to follow up with a corner crash powerbomb for the three count, and MAYHEM would follow their wave of A1GP momentum by taking out The Unbreakables after Death Machine II made Julia San Romero pass out in her deadly Katahajime to win the A-1 Tag Gold. DMII held on to the hold for a few seconds after the bell and only let go when she was threatened with a reversal of decision; Kelly Condor panicked, yelling "SHE CAN'T BREATHE!", EMTs arrived and quickly put an oxygen mask over San Romero and an emergency intermission was called as Romero would be taken backstage and to an ambulance.

Finally it was time for the Grand Champion Ruth Sampson to defend against the Amazon-1 Grand Prix winner Chiyoko Akanomu, who eliminated Sampson on her way to winning the tournament. It was a back and forth technical battle at first but Akanomu used an eye rake to set up a brutal dropkick to the knee of the champion, leading to a focused attack on the leg culminating in the Figure 4. Sampson managed to fight out of that and also kicking out of "Scarlet Moon At Twilight" (Killswitch), answering with a massive backbreaker to set up "Modern R't" (Straightjacket Triangle), center of the ring, a situation that has caused countless matches to end with Ruth's hand raised... but Akanomu sprayed BLOOD in Sampson's eyes to break it. Akanomu would draw some more blood by biting Sampson, forcing the champ to the floor, but after hitting her with an Asai Moonsault, Sampson would recover and deliver "R-Type Piledriver" (Gotch Piledriver) on the steel ramp! Sampson looked to follow up in the ring with a superplex, but Akanomu overpowered her.... putting her in a Tombstone position, driving the champ headfirst with the Silver Casket, one, two, three!

"Pageant" by Moi dix Mois would play as Akanomu celebrated her triumph. Ruth Sampson would come to and show her sportswomanship, putting the title around the new champ's waist and being the first to congratulate Chiyoko on her win. 2024 has only just begun and the landscape of Amazon-1 has already shifted!
