Holly Houghton: "You should have accepted our proposal, MacGregor, and now you're paying for it. Me and Liz are going to run you out of Amazon-1 and out of wrestling. No doubt you want to fight us, and we welcome that. Bring anyone you want as a partner and we'll put you both in the hospital." ----------------- Lucy Gold: "Well, the bones in my jaw have healed to the point where I no longer need it wired. I'm not ready to fully return to my duties on commentary, and I may formally retire from commentary altogether, but I'm able to work as matchmaker again. Therefore, I am pleased to announce that Bonnie Blair will be defending her newly won Amazon-1 Grand Championship in a three-way dance against Alena Sturmbjorn and Kathy Queen. And while a match between three of our best Grand Champions of all time is big enough, I've decided to make it more of a high stakes contest."
"The first person to lose a fall in the championship match will be unable to challenge for the Grand Championship for, at minimum, the rest of 2023. The second person to lose a fall will be unable to challenge until the winner loses the Grand Championship."
"In the event that the winner is still champion by December 31st, 2023, both defeated wrestlers will remain unable to challenge until the champion is unseated. This includes the automatic championship match won as the prize of the Amazon-1 Grand Prix. Furthermore, with approval of the Florida State Athletic Commission, the challengers cannot bypass this embargo through a substitution. This means especially you, Blair."

Amazon-1 67: High Stakes After a warmup match where Mary May Andrews submitted Melly Sanders with ease, the makeshift trio of Stava, Lavender and Strauss knocked off Blair's Army when Lavender pinned her former mentor Ruth Sampson with Bell, Book, and Candle. MAYHEM knocked off the Santa Monicka Wrecking Crew in a phyiscal bout and Terra made Abby Stern tap out to a Wakigatame.
In what many are calling a MOTY contender Lara Lockhart and Annie Bell-Lee had a fantastic contest ending with Lara Lockhart countering "Rigor Mortis" (Uranage) into an Exploder and followed up with Scarborough Fair for the three count. In a thrilling mat battle Ellen Farrant bested Zara Al-Harbi with the Crown of Thorns.
Mary MacGregor, now coming out to "Never Dawn" by Lacuna Coil, came out next by herself to take on her opposition by herself but was offered a team-up by a masked oddball who, apparently, is named Beans. MacGregor instead powerbombed Beans and then faced off with For Club and Country by herself and despite nearly getting the win after planting Elizabeth Tower with a powerbomb, fell victim to Holly Houghton's Straight Red. Amazon-1 Tag Gold changed hands as the Reinas de la Calles bested the Unbreakables, using a flurry of double team moves and a quick cradle to come three-time champs.
Finally it was the A-1 Grand Championship with three women with long histories with each other as Bonnie Blair defended against Kathy Queen and Alena Sturmbjorn. The first elimination came in a cheeky way, Alena putting Blair in "Knee Splitter" (Stretch Muffler) only for Kathy Queen to hit a leaping "Mind Flayer" (Complete Shot) on Sturmbjorn to break it but instead of pinning Alena, went to finish the job on Blair with "Queen's Landing" (Regal Stretch) making her longtime rival tap out. Queen and Sturmbjorn battled all over the arena, harkening back to their brutal series of matches in early 2021, but once the action got back in the ring, Queen missed the "Hardest Hitting Knee" (Diving Knee Trembler), Sturmbjorn answering with a ripcord knee followed by the "Warhammer" (Kamigoye) for the knockout win. Alena Sturmbjorn held the Grand Championship in her first reign for 16 months, and with Blair and Queen out of the running for the time being who can possibly knock her off this time?
0. Mary May Andrews d. Melly Sanders 2:38 via Armbar 1. Alexandra Stava, Sandra Lavender, and Jessika Strauss d. Blair's Army 26:21 when Lavender pinned Ruth Sampson via "Bell, Book, and Candle" (Okada Neckbreaker) 2. MAYHEM d. Annie Bell-Lee 20:21 via "Scarborough Fair" (Blockbuster) -This match got a standing ovation 5. Ellen Farrant d. Zara Al-Harbi 17:44 via "Crown of Thorns" (Butterfly DDT) 6. For Club and Country d. Mary MacGregor 15:58 when Houghton pins MacGregor via "Straight Red" (Sliding Double Kick) -A masked woman named Beans tried to be MacGregor's tag partner, but got powerbombed for it instead 7. Amazon-1 Tag Team Championship: Reinas de la Calles d. The Unbreakables(c) 24:37 when Ximena Valentina pinned Julia San Romero va La Magistral 8. Amazon-1 Grand Championship: Alena Sturmbjorn d. Kathy Queen and Bonnie Blair(c) 31:58 after KOing Kathy Queen with "Warhammer" (Kamigoye) -Kathy Queen submitted Bonnie Blair 24:12 via "Queen's Ransom" (Regal Stretch) -Neither Kathy Queen nor Bonnie Blair can contend for the Grand Championship as long as Sturmbjorn remains champion, and Bonnie Blair cannot content for the Grand Championship until the end of 2023 regardless

And I thought you two could learn from each other. You have experience going from small promotions to Amazon-1. And she could help you with your... abrasiveness.
MacGregor: I ain' abrasive. I just want tae be handle me business meself is all.
Gold: An admirable trait, I just think if you learned to be more... tactful in how you express that you can go further in your career.
MacGregor: Whatever. Are we done?
Gold: No. Look, you want to get your hands on Holly Hooligan. Here's what I propose: You face Beans one on one. If you win, I'll drop the matter of pairing you up and put you in a match with her, whatever you want. But if she wins, you team with her, at least until you two face off against For Club and Country.
MacGregor: ...Fine.
*The waiter comes*
MacGregor: "Steak, rare, with mashed potatoes and corn. And another order tae go. An some hot wings tae go. And tae brownie sundae."
Gold: "...You're ordering those extra meals just to spite me, aren't you?"
MacGregor: "Call it an incentive fer me tae cooperate." ----------------- Blair's Army:
Bonnie Blair: "That is IT! I have had ENOUGH! Enough of that... degenerate ruining my life... and enough of YOU *points to Sampson* and YOU *points to St. Dumas* holding this operation BACK!"
Sampson: "How did you get that contendership again?"
Blair: "Oh you did NOT just..."
St. Dumas: "And who has been losing the most of us?"
Blair: "...That's it. You two need to learn something. I allow you the HONOR of working for me. And I can rescind that honor any time I like. I'm arranging for you two to face off. And the loser is out of my Army. Your extra income, the services of Linda Parker, my world-class gym, all will be barred from the loser."

Amazon-1 68: Lockhart vs Sturmbjorn II
After a warmup match featuring Abby Stern, we had scheduled a match between Ruth Sampson and Marie St. Dumas where the loser would be kicked out of Blair's Army; however when the bell rang Sampson would exit the ring to the confusion of everyone. Bonnie Blair was not satisfied and demanded that Marie St. Dumas defend her spot in the Army anyway against Linda Parker, the confused and conflicted St. Dumas off her game and falling victim to the 450. Alexandra Stava and The Unbreakables would get a well earned win over Sandra Lavender and the Santa Monica Wrecking Crew, while Mary MacGregor went one on one with the rookie Beans; MacGregor went for a splash in the corner but Beans slumped down and MacGregor hit the buckle, allowing Beans to recover and hit her "Boston Baked Bomb" (Diving Senton); Mary had her foot on the rope but referee Cindi Slam didn't see it and "Jerry Was A Racecar Driver" by Primus played as Beans was declared the winner and now is in a tag team with the woman she just defeated.
The Submissionaries bested MAYHEM in a back and forth tag bout, while Jessika Strauss looked to impress against Kathy Queen, kicking out of "Mind Flayer" (Complete Shot) but falling to "Queen's Landing" (Mutasault). In a wild and chaotic tag team title match For Club and Country would dethrone the Reinas de la Calles. Upstart Ellen Farrant had an advantage pressed against Bonnie Blair but Linda Parker would try to cause a distraction so Blair can bring a chair to the ring. Marie St. Dumas would put a stop to it and Farrant would nearly get the win with a rollup but the fight between St. Dumas and Parker on the floor would distract the London Rose allowing Bonnie Blair to steal a win with a quick pin.
Lastly it was Last Woman Standing for the Amazon-1 Title between Alena Sturmbjorn and challenger Lara Lockhart; Lockhart infamously defeated Sturmbjorn by controversial means before and neither woman had forgotten, the brawl going to the floor with weapons flying. After over twenty minutes of neither woman managing to keep the other down Alena would look to use a metal plate attached to a kneepad to enhance the "Warhammer" (Kamigoye) to put Lara down for good, but her husband Sam S. McCloud would slide into the ring with a light tube and smash it over Sturmbjorn's head! She hit McCloud with the enhanced Warhammer but Lara would hit the Rolling Cutter that she had defeated the Warrior Queen with in the past. Alena beat the ten count but the damage was done and she was made easy prey for the "FATALITY!" (Vertebreaker) and that was enough to keep her down for the full count, Lara Lockhart has become the Amazon-1 Champion.

Ruth Sampson: "When I joined Blair's Army, I was at a crossroads. I was struggling and wasn't sure if I was good enough to be at the top level of women's wrestling anymore. Blair offered me financial security and a training camp to get me at my best... and I took it. I don't make apologies and I don't regret that decision. But Kathy Queen, well... she was right. I sold out to someone who was just using me to further her own career. So I saw an out and... I took it. I walked away. In a way I'm grateful for Blair for helping me improve my game but... now I need to prove that I can still be my own woman." ------------------------------ Ripper Reno: "After my pet betrayed me, I needed to refocus my career, so I left Magic City Wrestling. I sought out sadistic monsters. No, I created two sadistic monsters. I kidnapped these two from the wastelands, broke their will, trained them in the arts of violence... and as a final rite of initiation, I sent them both back to their families. They killed their parents and burned their houses down... and then thanked me for showing them the ways of the raider. With Skullbuster and The Ravager by my side, Amazon-1 will be my playground. We will make meat of some of you, slaves of the rest, and bathe in the gore." --------------- Kathy Queen: "It's only fitting that the Sexual Anarchist headlines Amazon-1 69. And since this is a night tailor made for me... I am going to make a challenge to someone worthy of the Grand Championship. Ruth Sampson, for showing a backbone and getting out of the Karen Club, I'm going to give you the title shot you earned but never received. But this is Volume 69. So I'm inviting you into the Queen's Dungeon. And remember, when you serve at the Queen's pleasure, the Queen's pleasure comes first. And as much as I respect you, you will end up on your knees, screaming my name, as I make you my bitch."

Amazon-1 69: Redemption
After rookie Kimberly Sabre decimated Melly Sanders in pre-show action we had an incredibly physical No DQ grudge match where For Club And Country battled the makeshift duo of Mary MacGregor and Beans, ending when Mary MacGregor powerbombs the giantess Elizabeth Tower with a sick powerbomb on a baseball bat. In the special challenge Lara Lockhart had a tough night against Ellen Farrant but caught the youngster with Boom! Headshot! after 14 minutes; her understudy Abby Stern tried to hold off Alena Sturmbjorn but after only seven minutes Alena caught Stern with the sadistic "Warhammer" to knock her out cold. Now Sturmbjorn will get a match of her choice against her rival Lara Lockhart.
The new Raiders of the Wasteland impressed against veterans Annie Bell-Lee and the Santa Monica Wrecking Crew but Bell-Lee managed to catch the Ravager with a diving double knee. In a marathon battle Jessicka Strauss showed her power but couldn't match the strength of the World's Strongest Woman who made her submit to a Crucifix Rack, while Marie St. Dumas caught her former employer with a superplex to earn a huge win. The night of sudden victories continued when The Unbreakables captured tag told against The Submissionaries thanks to an opportunity by Kelly Condor to nail Terra with the Condor Drop for the three.
Finally it was Ruth Sampson vs Kathy Queen for the Amazon-1 Grand Championship, just had it had been years ago when Sampson made her comeback after a career-halting car accident that sidelined her for nearly a decade. Only this time it was in Queen's Dungeon rules and the barbed wire and light tubes would come into play early even as Ruth Sampson tried to contain the pace with mat wrestling. Both women hit the barbed wire boards and Queen seemed to have it won with a "Mind Flayer" (Complete Shot) into the barbed wire but Sampson somehow kicked out. Queen then tried the "Cthulhu Clutch" (Chickenwing Sleeper With Body Triangle) but Sampson managed to block the body triangle and escape the choke. Queen tried to set up for "Hardest Hitting Knee" (Diving Knee Trembler) but Sampson threw light tubes in Queen's face, setting up for a Goriconoclasm onto a barbed wire board, rolling it into "Modern R't" (Straitjacket Triangle), a hold that has made many a woman submit in Ruthless Ruth Samspson's storied career... Kathy didn't submit but she did pass out in the hold, Ruth Sampson has gone from losing a championship and nearly her life, a long and painful rehab, a rocky comeback and now is, finally, once again at the top of women's wrestling once more.

Alena Sturmbjorn: "The vikings of old had a way of settling grudges. They called it the Holmgang. Two warriors would meet on a small island, and only one would return alive. It is in the spirit of the Holmgang that I lay the rules of the duel with Lockhart. Instead of an island, we battle in a steel cage. Two clubs will be in the ring for us to use as we please. No pinfalls, instead, we battle until one of us submits
Kathy Queen: "Ripper Reno. We don't really get to meet in the ring that much, do we? You're usually doing one thing, I'm doing another... but recently we were in the ring together and you and your little kittens attacked me. Normally that wouldn't bother me, but I had just won the A-1 Grand Championship and not only did your attack mean I couldn't celebrate it, but I had to go to the trainers while my King was wrestling right after and my doctors advised me not to get railed by him after... of course the last part I ignored but it's the principle of the thing. So Amazon-1 gets a showing of Queen's Dungeon back to back... and Ripper Reno, you will be on your knees, screaming my name... after I beat you senseless with a barbed wire bat and make you my bitch."
Ruth Sampson: "Alexandra Stava. You started this year coming off a win from the A-1 GP, falling short in a bid for the Grand Champion. You kept going, kept improving, and now you've got another chance at the championship to show for it. Any other time, Stava, I would say you have a good chance at winning the title. Unfortunately for you, your shot has come at this time. Your power impresses me, but it does not intimidate me. Your youth gives you endurance, but my experience means I can control the pace. Everyone tells me you have every physical advantage, but I have an advantage you cannot overcome. They call me "Ruthless" for a reason. I do not stop. You cannot do anything to me that I haven't gotten back up from. But I have a multitude of ways to make you stop. I have no doubt, Stava, you will be champion one day. But November 13th will not be that day."

Amazon-1 70: Stava vs Sampson
After newest A-1 signee Kellie Shark showed her skills in the pre-show bout, we had the steel cage set up for the first of three consecutive cage matches as the bitter personal issues between Mary MacGregor and Holly Houghton would come to an end, Houghton using every dirty move she could and multiple "Red Card Specials" (Sliding Kick To A Prone Opponent) kicked out of, only for MacGregor to endure and deliver a hammerlock backdrop to win and banish Houghton from Amazon-1. In the Holmgang cage match Alena Sturmbjorn seemed to have Lara Lockhart beat when she followed multiple strikes with the club with a "Warhammer" (Kamigoye) but Sturmbjorn kept trying to swing the club at Lockhart while referee Cindi Slam was making the count leading to Lara recovering and decking Sturmbjorn with the second club in the ring right in the back of the neck and delivering "FATALITY!" for the knockout win. To complete the trio of cage bouts we went into Queen's Dungeon for a bloody war between Kathy Queen and Ripper Reno for Queen's WMD title, Queen looked to do a bronco buster of all things while Ripper was against the barbed wire boards but Reno slipped our leading to Queen hitting the boards in a way that lead to a collective audible wince from the crowd, and a German Suplex from Reno to score the win.
MAYHEM continue their shady association with Bonnie Blair by tagging with Blair's attorney Linda Parker to knock off Marie St. Dumas and her former allies the Submissionaries, while the Raiders of the Wasteland bested Annie Bell-Lee and Sandra Lavender in a brutal showcase. The offbeat rookie Beans impressed against Bonnie Blair but took too long playing up to the crowd allowing the veteran Blair to hit the Leg Blairiat for the pin. The Santa Monica Wrecking Crew and The Unbreakables have both been tearing it up in the tag division in 2023, and tbeir latest confrontation did not dissapoint as both teams went full force for nearly 25 minutes until Julia San Romero caught Rebecca Requiem with a schoolgirl pin.
Lastly it was the Grand Championship match as Alexandra Stava looked to overcome Ruth Sampson. Stava used her power to dominate early on but Sampson the far more experienced competitor had a gameplan and slowly ground down Stava with stretches. However when she looked to put away the World's Strongest Woman with "Modern R't" (Straightjacket Triangle), Stava just lifted her up into the "Bicep Suplex" (Schoolgirl Suplex) for a nearfall! The damage was done however and once Sampson got an opening she hit a diving elbow to the face of Stava to set up another Modern R't but while Stava was still able to lift Sampson up she couldn't throw her and had to use the lift to carry Sampson towards the ropes for a break. Sampson tried again but Stava was able to scramble to the ropes before the hold was applied fully, Sampson tried the Rolling Backdrop only for a two count. Stava answered this with a Deadlift German but her hurt arms made maintaining the grip on Sampson too difficult allowing her to escape. While everyone was wondering what it would take to win this bout, Ruth Sampson came up with a solution only The Ruthless One could have devised... going for a Military Press of all things against the much larger and heavier Stava! It wasn't a pretty press but it caught Stava off guard and before she could recover from the unexpected slam, Sampson followed up with a leg nelson pin and got the three count!
Ruth Sampson will end the year on top of Amazon-1 but anything can happen in the A1GP, will the winner of women's wrestling's greatest tournament be the one to end Ruth Sampson's comeback story?

A1GP Opening Round Night 1
After a warmup match featuring alternate Clockwork Angel, the tournament began with Biana Espada managing to best Andi Harms after Espada's tag partner Ximena Valentina distracted Andi Harms, allowing Espada to use a roll of quarters to set up a Romero Special to advance. Jessika Strauss and Marie St Dumas went nearly 20 minutes, Struass nearly getting the win with her "Electric Funeral" (Falcon Arrow Driver) but Marie answering with a picture perfect moonsault for the three count to a standing ovation. Bonnie Blair tried to offer KANABO a blank check but matchmaker Lucy Gold cautioned the both of them that match fixing will cause both of them to be disqualified; Blair tried to use her ring savvy to best KANABO but eventually fell to the powerhouse's famous Lariat.
Newcomer Kellie Shark looked to impress against Abby Stern but the Pinball Witch also had lots to improve and got the win with a flying elbow. Meanwhile her fellow Guild member went over 20 minutes against another newcomer in The Ravager who had the former Grand Champion on the back foot but a superplex attempt was countered with a headbutt followed by the BloodRayne for a crowd-pleasing victory. Two rivals of Ladies of Lucha clashed as Maxine Warner (the Ruler of LOL Champion) battled Soldier 2501 in a heated back and forth battle. The powerhouse that is Warner seemed to have the match won but the SpecOps agent evaded a "Bunny Hop" (Diving Stomp) and took a sprawl, turning into a rarely seen D'Arce Choke to put the RofL champion to sleep.
Terra has been trying to lobby for a chance at the Grand Championship for a while now and was hoping to earn one in the biggest women's tournament in the world but Chiyoko Akanomu of Joshi Kansai League was standing in her way; Terra used the "Scavenger's Daughter" (Double Arm Bar) but Akanomu forced a break with a poison mist attack. The wily vampire kitsune followed up with a "Kitsune Splash" (Diving Senton) and then the Scarlet Moon At Midnight for the three count. Finally it was rookie Indiana Frost not even a year into the business looking to make a name for herself against a semi-finalist of last year's A1GP in Mortebella. Indiana Frost impressed and nearly got a win with "Ten Dollar Tooth Removal" (Sliding Boot) but Mortebella would fight back with a chokeslam and a moonsault for the three count to end a fantastic opening night for the Amazon-1 Grand Prix.

A1GP9 Opening Round Night 2 After the second alternate Sharon Medina had a tune-up match, Bella Hemlok managed to go hold for hold with Zara Al-Harbi before catching her with Queen's Throne for the pin. Ellen Farrant did her best to tie Cheyenne Martin in knots but Martin seized an opportunity to catch the London Rose in a Prawn Hold to advance in the tournament, while Linda Parker overcame a game Lady Liberty via Hammerlock Backgroup.
The eccentric Beans found herself out of depth against the unpredictable Honey Badger who would put her away with her trademark violent aggression and finishing off the rookie with a diving legdrop to the back of the head. The One Punch Girl Gina Teller got a warm welcome from the Amazon-1 fans who never forgot her gutsy performances, and that enthusiasm helped her escape a Requiem sleeper to counter with a reverse kneebar. Ripper Reno targeted the knee of Lumpy Martinez but the former A-1 Grand Champion endured and caught the veteran with 420 Splash
Sandra Lavender first came to the attention of the women's wrestling stage by the A-1 Grand Prix and Kimberly Sabre, the least experienced woman in the entire field, was looking to do the same. Sabre impressed by displaying a high ring IQ well beyond her years and nearly got the pin with a Release Tiger Driver and a DDT but the Angel Witch caught her with the Grand Cross for the pin. Finally it was Holly Houghton, the renegade who is out of a job in between losing a Loser Laeaves A-1 match and then assaulting ring crew at WMD, looking to secure her future at the cost of the young Skullbuster. Houghton was in control for most of the match but just as she seemed to be putting it away Skullbuster caught her with an Axe Bomber and a Tombstone Piledriver for the three count! Anything can happen in the A1GP and this surprise result is proof of that. And we're just getting started folks.

A1GP9 Round of 32 Night 1 Result
After Jessika Strauss warmed up the crowd, we had Death Machine II surviving the streetfighting fury of Bianca Espada and answering with a Machine Crush. Kelly Condor escaped a Marie St. Dumas "Spellbinder" (Figure 4 Ankle Lock) and transitioned it into a small package to advance in the tournament, while KANABO blasted Bad Judy Stone with Sliding K in a short but physical battle.
Abby Stern showed her underrated strength hefting up Mary MacGregor for "Slam Tilt" (Ushigoroshi) for a nearfall but when she tried it again MacGregor reversed into the Hammerlock Backdrop for the pin. Lara Lockhart endured the bone rattling suplexes of Big Jen Stone only to knock her out with FATALITY! to advance; Alena Sturmbjorn looked to steamroll Soldier 2501 but a missed "Beserkr Charge" (Spear) allowed Soldier 2501 to climb the top and catch the Warrior Queen with a moonsault for a massive upset.
The upsets didn't stop when Chiyoko Akanomu endured the deadly Deadlift German of last year's A1GP winner Alena Sturmbjorn and caught the World's Strongest Woman with a Kitsune Splash for the pin. Meanwhile a dark horse from last year who made it all the say to the semifinals, Mortebella, looked to show her performance was no fluke at the expense of the Grand Champion Ruth Sampson. Mortebella stuck to the physical style honed in Women of Mass Destruction while Ruth Sampson used her experience to control the pace and slow the fight down. In the end Mortebella hit her "Wake Up Dead" (Back to Belly Piledriver) for a near fall but when she went for the "SUNDS" (Backdrop Chokeslam) that helped her get big wins last year, Sampson escaped it and countered with a Wake Up Dead of her own for the three count! Sampson looking to become only the second woman to come into the A1GP as Grand Champion and come out winning the finals.

A1GP Round of 32 Night 2
After the mysterious Kimberly Sabre opened the night, the tournament continued with Bella Hemlok handing Hija Del Santa Muerte an early exit in spectacular faction, reversing the "Rosa del Entiero" (Arm And Neck Trap Kimura) into a Flying Leglock submission. In a rematch from their JKL World Women's bout in January, Cheyenne Martin looked to avenge her loss to Kathy Queen with a Figure Four Leglock but Queen rolled through and went deep into her bag of tricks with the Sin-O-Matic to get the win. Meanwhile Gutter and Linda Parker had a surprisingly competitive battle that ended on the floor, Gutter having the upper hand but a hoodied figure handcuffing her to the railing allowing Linda Parker to win via countout.
Julia San Romero looked to match her tag partner's success but the wild Honey Badger dropped her with the Badger Driver to advance to the final week of action. In a rematch of last year's Round of 32, Gina Teller looked to avenge her loss to the great Sakura Megohime and while One Punch Girl nearly got the win with a moonsault she fell to Osaka In Bloom as history repeated. Meanwhile Megohime's old rival in Joshi Kanai League DELINQUENT would secure her spot in the Round of 16 after pinning Lumpy Martinez with two KUSO Crushers
Sandra Lavender and Annie Bell-Lee have been partnering up a lot in 2023 but find themselves in one on one action in a thrilling back and forth contest that ended in controversy as Annie Bell-Lee held on to the ropes while applying the Romero Dragon Sleeper to get the victory. Finally it was last year's runner up TEK*GIRL Saiba controlling most of the match against the dark horse upstart Skullbuster but a Tombstone Piledriver and a Flying Elbow Drop kept the miracle run going for Skullbuster. She wasn't done after the match through, her mentor Ripper Reno and tag parner The Ravager held TEK*GIRL down as Skullbuster delivered repeated flying elbows until Lucy Gold stepped in and threatened to overturn the result. The Raiders relented and we have our final sixteen competitors.

Amazon-1 Grand Prix 9 Round of 16
After the Raiders of the Wasteland opened the show in signature fashion, we had a back and forth battle between Death Machine II and Kelly Condor pulling out all the stops but DMII showing the killer instinct that made her a former A1GP winner, choking Condor out with the Katahajime. Next we had a rematch from the Round of 16 of the 7th Grand Prix, Mary MacGregor vs KANABO (where MacGregor injured KANABO rendering her unable to continue in the tournament); The battle was as intense as their old rivalry, ending when MacGregor went for the same powerbomb that she nearly ended KANABO's career with but the Maiden of the Lariat back body dropped out of it and hit the same move she used two beat MacGregor two years ago, the flying elbow. Lara Lockhart has been getting more cheers than boos in this tournament so far but the crowd was behind Soldier 2501, the two women went fast and furious but as Soldier 2501 went for her "Target Eliminated" Dragon Sleeper, Lara reversed and delivered the "Meteodrive" (Everest German) for the three count.
Ruth Sampson looked to continue her winning ways but faced a cypher in Chiyoko Akanomu, the Kitsune of Blood. The two went at it back and forth with Sampson kicking out of the "Nine Tailed Fox" (Cipher UTAKI) but found herself at ringside, handspring into a moonsault plancha followed up with a Romero Special after 21 minutes of thrilling action and the Grand Champion submits to Akanomu. Bella Hemlok brought a leash to the ring for her battle with her Double Domme Session tag partner Kathy Queen, who smiled and whispered something to referee Cindi Slam; Slam took the leash and held it up like a title belt as the tag partners faced off; Hemlok hitting her "Hematophilia" (Double Knee Facebreaker") and Queen her "Mind Flayer" (Complete Shot) for near falls apiece; Hemlock went for a claw downstairs (a signature move of hers in her no-DQ home of WMD but illegal in Amazon-1, looking to transition to a camel clutch but Queen escaped and wrapped her in "Queen's Ransom" (Regal Stretch) for the submission. After the match Kathy Queen put the leash on Hemlok as they left the ring. Linda Parker advanced his far through controversial means but Honey Badger (the protege of Gutter) was rabid in her retribution, busting Parker up by slamming her repeatedly into the ringpost and BITING her risking a DQ; Parker was GUSHING blood but refused to give up, even TRADING FISTS with Honey Badger and WINNING THE EXCHANGE; however the blood loss was too much and Parker found herself victim to the Badger Driver.
Another rivalry was renewed as Sakura Megohime faced an old foe in DELINQUENT albeit for the first time in the US, DELINQUENT attaking the eyes of Megohime but the Princess of Osaka managed to trip DELINQUENT up, hitting the "Osaka Express" (Area Code Swing) to set up Osaka In Bloom for the three count. Lastly Skullbuster looked to continue her run of upsets but Annie Bell-Lee showed the Raider that she's still got a lot to learn, taking her pillar to post before dropping her headfirst with Momento Mori; after the match Skullbuster was looked over by trainers and her allies Ripper Reno and The Ravager seemed uncharacteristically worried as they headed to the back with Skullbuster, whoeven through her mask looked out of it.
Skullbuster, we are later told, is currently undergoing concussion screening and her status for the future is currently up in the air.

Amazon-1 Grand Prix 9 Finals
After a guest appearance from Ai Kaimono, we had the beginning of the Amazon-1 Grand Prix's quarterfinal matches; the team of MAYHEM collided as Death Machine II and KANABO went at it not like partners but as bitter rivals, such as the prestige of the A1GP, and the "Sliding K" (Sliding Lariat) and KANABO Driver would allow KANABO to advance. Lara Lockhart has been turning fans back to supporting her over recent months but that support was not enough against Chiyoko Akanomu, who hit her "Scarlet Moon At Midnight" (Pedigree) on the floor, throwing Lara back in the ring for a Moonless Night and the pin. Despite being bloodied early into the match Kathy Queen outwitted the ravenous Honey Badger, delivering the "Hardest Hitting Knee" (Diving Knee Trembler) and the "Mind Flayer" (Complete Shot) to make it to the semifinals for the first time since the second A1GP. Lastly to fill out the semifinal bracket, Annie Bell-Lee seemed to have it in control with the "Momento Mori" (Samoan Driver) but Sakura got her foot on the ropes, a second attempt countered into a backdrop driver followed up with "Osaka In Bloom" (V-Trigger) for the three count.
In the first non-tournament match of the night TEK*GIRL Saiba allied with Lumpy Martinez to get back at the Raiders of the Wasteland for the attack suffered after Saiba's loss to Skullbuster (who has been confirmed to have suffered a mild concussion). The Raiders however got the last laugh when The Ravager used a straightjacket brainbuster to set up a release German to pin the Cyberpunk Idol. In the first semi-final we had KANABO going from facing her current tag partner to her former tag partner back in her days in her native Japan, Chiyoko Akanomu not forgetting the percevied betrayal of being left alone (which, as color commentator Xander Starr explained, caused Akanomu to go from a vampire to a vampire kitsune), delivering not one but two Scarlet Moon At Midnights in a row to gain a measure of revenge. There was also no love lost in the other semifinals as Kathy Queen and Sakura Megohime have crossed paths several times in 2023; Sakura used her Osaka In Bloom early on and got answered with a Mind Flayer. Queen looked to use her "Queen's Landing" (Mutasault) from halfway across the ring but Megohime kicked out at the last moment, surprising Queen with a second Osaka In Bloom for a controversial three count as Queen seemed to have her shoulder up at three. While the finalists rested we had a rematch from earlier in the tournament, Soldier 2501 facing Maxine Warner this time for Warner's Ruler of LOL championship. Soldier 2501 gave it her all but in the end it was a Last Ride Powerbomb off the top rope that got Warner the win and to keep the RofL, but Soldier 2501 won the admiration of the A-1 crowd for her performance in the tournament.
Six nights and forty-six matches all come down to two women, Chiyoko Akanomu and Sakura Megohime for the biggest prize in women's wrestling. It began methodically with neither woman wanting to make the first fatal mistake. Akanomu focused on Sakura's legs while Megohime targeted the arms and back as they exchanged offense. Eventually came the big guns. Megohime went for Osaka In Bloom, Akanomu evading it and delivering Scarlet Moon At Midnight for the near fall. The Kitsune tried to set up for "Nine Tailed Fox" (Ciper Utaki) but Megohime slipped out the back, hitting a "Maho Shoujou Knee" (Shining Wizard) and the "REIKA Lock" (Reverse Figure Four), pointing to her idol REIKA who was seated at the front row... but that momentary lapse of concentration allowed Akanomu to blind her with a poison mist. Akanomu took control and tried to set up for another Scarlet Moon At Midnight but Megohime managed to throw her off into the corner. A springboard elbow missed and the Kitsune sunk her fangs into Megohime's head, setting up for a tombstone off the top rope but Megohime knocked her off the ropes, standing up on the top turnbuckle, knees wobbling, and going for the "REIKA DiveBomb" (450)...
But Chiyoko got the knees up.
Now it's her turn to go to the top rope, "Kitsune Splash" (Diving Senton), one, two, three!
As "Pageant" by Moi Dix Mois played and streamers were fired into the ring, the Amazon-1 Grand Prix trophy awarded by Lucy Gold to an exhausted Chiyoko Akanomu. Sakura Megohime, who been in wars with Chiyoko in the past, hobbled up to her and gave her a handshake and a hug before collecting her JKL World Women's title and ring gear to give Akanomu the spotlight. Photographers from publications in the US, Canada, UK, and Japan were all on hand to record this moment in history. Akanomu carried the cup triumphantly out of the ring as the rest of the competitors spilled out to the entryway to applaud Akanomu's efforts. KANABO stepped forward and there was a moment of tension but all that came from it was a handshake. The next woman to shake the A1GP champion's hand was none other than Grand Champion Ruth Sampson, who Akanomu defeated en route to her triumph, the two posed with their prizes in hand, as when they next meet in less than one month's time it will be for Ruth Sampson's Grand Championship.
