I like Cody, compared to my note, I just dont find him to be top-tier like many people would suggest of him. His heel antics are fine until he starts talking about a guy in a bear costume or being goofy on BTE. Its much akin to Marty at those points. Dont tell me you dont want to be Stardust then deliver the line '[the bear] is all fucking business!"
I liked Blackman. He just suffered from the same thing Lance Storm did: writers didnt know how to write for him. I think Braun has been one of the few guys that a comedy shtick has worked on a guy who really shouldnt be anywhere near comedy segments. Blackman's bad writing was as bad as Storm's though.

Great topic....I definitely don’t hate anyone, they all bust thier balls to entertain fans - I also don’t watch Japanese wrestling so my influences are very western
Hate | Edge - I like his early work in the tag division, I just don’t really get how he ever got to main event level - his look wasn’t hugely unique for the time, his character wasn’t great, some of the things he has on his cv aren’t particularly going to be remembered fondly - the lita affair and the Vicky guerrero storyline jump out instantly as just horrible things to be associated with and aside from brilliant bumps he just wasn’t that great in the ring - his great matches all have some form of gimmick or stipulation attached to them - his big wrestle mania moments are Mick Foley falling through a burning table, and Jeff Hardy taking a 20ft fall for him
Honourable mentions... ric flair, hulk hogan
Love | Jerry Lynn - he may well be loved by many but he was criminally underrated as a talent throughout his career - above all he always elevated his opponent - I think of the likes of RVD and AJ Styles who’s early careers were definitely elevated by feuding with Jerry Lynn
Honourable mentions... the miz, Jeff Jarrett

Probably gonna catch flack for it but hell, I actually really like the Miz. I think a lot more people would agree with you than you realize. Miz is one of the few things I find to be consistently entertaining when I do rarely watch WWE. Hate: Maybe not hate, but I always felt that Misawa was not really as talented as Kobashi, Kawada, and Akiyama. When I discovered All Japan, it was Akiyama who really got my attention. I always found Kawada and Taue to be my favorites of that bunch. Cody Rhodes, oh holy canoli, Cody Rhodes. That match with Okada at the US G1 (I casually watch NJPW stuff, and I think Okada is a wrestling god at this point), was basically one big Okada carry job. I think he's a midcarder trying to punch way above his weight. He peaked when he wore the facemask tbh....maybe there's time, I mean he's only in his early 30s, but as of now, pass. Cody was a solid B-player in WWE, left to the indies to mixed reviews, but suddenly he joins BC/Elite and he's supposed to be an S+ player? Get the fuck outta' here. Not much I can add here other than.... Midcarder, yes, and I think he's a below average midcarder at that. I was the one and only dude I could hear during G1 Special in San Francisco losing my mind cheering for Hirooki Goto amidst a sea of booing. Goto remains one of my favorite NJPW guys, and I've never understood the animosity he gets from many American fans. Goto was the first guy I found myself to be a fan of on my own (not taking into consideration any hype trains) when I started watching modern NJPW. He remains one of the ones I won't skip regardless of his opponent. However I haven't seen him wrestle Cody yet so that could change.

Everybody loves him now, but I've always hated, and will continue to hate, The Miz. I just do not friggin' get it.

Not really a fan of CM Punk, Dory Funk Jr., or Bret Hart.
Love the Ascension un-ironically.

Goldberg. I was very anti-Goldberg despite being very pro-Road Warriors when they're basically the same gimmick: good physique, limited move set, no selling. Probably an age thing as I was much younger when exposed to Hawk and Animal.

I can see the commonalities between Goldberg and the Road Warriors but I wouldn't put them in the same category.
I think the Road Warriors are like the Undertakers of the tag division -- dark, cool, stoic, badass looking. They didn't have to annihilate everyone for us to know how badass they were. They didn't have to be the champions for us to know that they could be and probably should be.
I thought of Goldberg more as Ultimate Warrior 2.0. He had good charisma, but the strength of his gimmick and whole reason he got over was because he annihilated people. If he wasn't annihilating people, what else did he have going for him? He wasn't a great worker and he didn't have that presence that allowed him to be the looming threat that hovers in the shadows for months and get over on the strength of his promos.

Probably gonna catch flack for it but hell, I actually really like the Miz. He's not what you would call an elite in-ring talent but EVERYTHING he does, he does in character and it works. If you'd have told me that "Mike" from the Real World when I was in college would become one of the most consistently entertaining things on WWE television 15 ago, I'd probably have laughed at you and called you something unflattering (I was kind of rude as a teen :| ). But the dude has done exactly that. He won't lead the dance on a 5 star match but he plays his character better than anyone has in a long time and I really appreciate him for that. The one guy that was popular who I NEVER understood a reason for was Ken Anderson. I didn't hate him (though the Mr. Kennedy gimmick annoyed me to no end) but I just didn't see why everyone thought he'd be some huge star. I don't hate many performers (it's just entertainment) but if I had to choose one that I just really, really, really would be content to never see or hear from again, it would be Triple H. I just don't like that guy and haven't been interested in him since he started his main event run that's apparently never ended. I think the Miz is the all round MVP of WWE. I'm with you.

I used to totally love Rob Conway when he was part of La Resistance with Sylvain Grenier and Rene Dupree. In fact, I was convinced he was destined to be world champion one day...before they saddled him with the lame Buff Bagwell-wannabe "Con Man" gimmick and made him feud with Eugene. That made me sad.

Rob Conway was so solid. Really thought he was a really good hand that just got a crappy gimmick. Man, that might be another topic - best wrestlers with bad gimmicks.

Rob Conway was NWA World Champion... not that that really means a thing in 2018.

Rob Conway was NWA World Champion... not that that really means a thing in 2018. I'll say this, I think the job that the NWA Title Youtube (Ten Pounds of Gold) series is doing to give that belt some shine is great. I really like the storytelling coming from that as well as BTE. Lets face it, the NWA title has been.... some places.

I love Roman Reigns. I legitimately think that he's one of the best in-ring performers in the world. Obviously, this is an extremely unpopular opinion on several wrestling-related discussion boards.
Adam Cole on the flip side. It's not that I hate him, but I just don't understand the appeal. Everything about him screams "dude next door" to me, and he doesn't even do anything for me in the ring.
