I have this conversation often with my friends, and so I figure this is a good place to have it.
Do you have a wrestler/wrestler(s) that you really like/hate that generally others feel opposite of?
I really like Tama Tonga. I really think that he is probably at about his limit in New Japan (which is not a bad place to be at all) but I really would love to see the guy working in ROH for a while for whatever reason. I think he just has ring charisma, and personal charisma.

I hate Dusty Rhodes as a wrestler but loved him as a commentator.

Love: Hirooki Goto. I know he's not exactly hated by everybody, but certainly his tendency to always choke in big match scenarios have made people sort of ignore him, or dismiss him outright. He was the first guy that I ever became a fan of when I first got into NJPW, and I think he's overall one of the most solid guys on the roster and I can't think of many big name singles matches that he didn't deliver on. Shit, he even had a damn good match with the Beer City Bruiser.
Hate: Perhaps "hate" is a strong term, since I really don't dislike the guy persay, but I don't see what the big deal about Tama Tonga is. I find his in ring work to be average at best, and his microphone work hasn't struck me as any better. Likewise, I often here a lot of praise for Kanemaru from Suzuki-gun, but I can't think of anything I've personally watched him in that stuck out as particularly good. Even Taichi has had some good matches since going heavy. Honestly it'd probably be more accurate to call this the "meh" section.
Actual hate: Sexy Starr for trying to take liberties with people, as well as that bitch who nearly killed ACT.

Love: Michael Tarver. I don't know why either. I was fascinated with his look in NXT, and after I started watching more and more of Florida Championship Wrestling I became an even bigger fan. It's a shame his run only lasted with the Nexus roster.

DON'T PARTICULARLY LOVE: Seth Rollins. I mean, I don't hate him, I just am not moved by him in any way. I don't really watch current wrestling, but a friend of mine is a huge WWE fan and Rollins mark and insisted I'd change my tune about the modern WWE if I took in a few Rollins matches, so I did. I just... don't get it. I find him to be extraordinarily boring personality-wise and his moveset leaves much to be desired. A curb stomp is not a finisher, god damn it.

Oh man, my buddy is the biggest Lash LeRoux fan ever and I never hear anyone else bring him up. Nice to see he's still remembered. Love: El Dandy. My username might make it sound like I love him ironically, but he really is great and has several classic matches under his belt. Hate: Dolph Ziggler. I've just never found him entertaining at any point in his career, and it baffles me that he's considered such a great worker. |

I never liked Dolph either. I don't really hate him, but I just don't see what's good about him. He's mediocre.
Lash LeRoux was pretty damn fun to watch though.

I'm not "loving" him, but he's the best midcarder and the greatest working ant on the roster. He's taken so many bumps per match, lazy Yujiro won't do that f.e. |

Oh man, when Ron went to Japan he met Hideki on the train and even got a photo with him for me. I'm a very, very vocal Hideki lover and I always get a laugh out of people that don't get him or insist that he's awful because he doesn't work the modern, work-rate heavy style. |
