A place for people to share FPromoter happenings away from bug reports... feel free to post about your experiences here!
So, to get my act together on how this works before starting my custom universe, I've started a game with New Japan.
I of course made my fed Strong style and based in Japan.
I picked Okada, Omega, Naito, Tanahashi, Ibushi & ZSJ.
I'm guessing for the game mechanics, these people are CRAZY expensive, and you're supposed to start with lesser wrestlers. Probably will be losing money, I should be.
So, my first card...
I booked the rural gym, no advertisement, got 1232 people paying 10$ in the 1250 seats venue. All CPU matches. I ended up with the following results.
- Ibushi over ZSJ in 11:13 (83%) - Tanahashi over Naito in 13:56 (80%) - Omega over Okada in 15:22 (100%)
Card averaged to 87%
My card was a great success, I'm told I'm ready to book a larger venue.
OH WOW. Little news bulletin deal on the other promotions. With screenshots, are these generated to match the news?!
I've made 370$ profit in my month, I guess my roster isn't too expensive after all. But I'm thinking I have no room for a lot of expenses if I want to keep that profit. Including signings.
So, in February I got a tournament with another promotion... Uh? Some of my guys are in it or....?
Cool another news deal, now signings around the game world.
I'm invited to start producing merch. I want to make..... Branded Snacks. Cheapest option. Costs 2000$ to make 1000 units. Ima make some New Japan branded ramen noodles or something.
I've no reason to hire more wrestlers... but I will anyway. Not all the guys I didn't pick are available as free agents, guessing some you have to scout. Two that are happen to be Ishii and EVIL.
Ishii asked me 1000$ to talk to me, and I offered a 5000$ signing bonus which was the smallest option.
He turned me down. And I guess I can only offer one contract per month? I can't enter the offer contract screen anymore.
Oh well, let's scout.
Sending my Strong style, Japanese scout on a mission for a month for 500$...

A free agent won my heavyweight title and now he won't negotiate with me. I may have to go Invader 1 on his ass.

Lost my post for my second card but in short...
Had Falcon as my ref in the first card. Changed him for Mr. Judgement and saved 2000$. Raised tickets to 40$, rest of the setup remained the same.
Results...
1059 sold out of 1250 seats. Should have more revenues than on the first card. All CPU still.
- Ibushi crit ZSJ in under 10 minute. It got 58% - Omega & Naito went to a double count-out in 12 minutes. It got 62% - Okada over Tanahashi in 13 minutes. It got 75%
Well the CPU screwed me over. The fans hated those first two matches with good reason. I'm at a bit of lost as far as the main event goes. That's a low rating, match deserved better.
The ref made a big difference maybe?
Game is telling me I should consider a smaller venue. I'm in the smallest venue.
AND I MADE BANK! 31,400$ profit? I made 85 TIMES more profits than last month. Those ticket prices won't be moving.
Oh, that tournament with another promotion deal? Never heard of it again. No clue what it was.
-----
In March, I got a tournament scheduled with another promotion again. Heh.
My scout didn't find anyone. I'll send him for three months.
Back at it with contract negociations with Ishii... Again, 1000$ to talk to him. Since I made a big wad of cash last month, I offer him the maximum signing bonus. (20000$) And he signs on the dotted line!
I'm told to open a gym. The first expansion I'm offered raises the number of wrestlers I can have on my roster. I'm not even at the max right now, I've got 7 out of 8, so I'll defer this to later.
I sold 349 out of my 1000 ramen noodles packets. Dissapointed. And now they've spoiled, so I got to dump my stock. I've got some hunks on my roster, so I'm thinking PICTURES of them would sell. These are more expensive but in all logic, they at least shouldn't go bad... 7000$ for 1000 photo collections.

Ibushi looks like he damaged ZSJ's neck when he crit him and now ZSJ's trust rating is down to A from S. OH YEAH? Well, Zack, you get Ishii's debut match, to hell with your whiny ass.
Same event settings as last time. 1123 sold at 40$ out of 1250.
- ZSJ crits Ishii in 11:04 (WHAT?!?) (80%) - Okada over Naito in 17:09 (92%) - Omega over Ibushi in 12:21 (77%)
Event averaged to 83%.
Well, way to debut there, Sponge Pitbull. More openers for you until that arm heals. ZSJ figured hurting people was fair game I guess.
Golden Lovers sort of crapped the bed.
Again, the game telling me to book a smaller venue. Nope.
7690$ profit for March. Of course, I gave 20000$ to Ishii, it shows.
--------
APRIL.
Negociating with EVIL. 1500$ to talk. Offered the middle option for a signing bonus (15000$) and he signs!
My picture packs don't sell that good in my view, but the game is satisfied, telling me they are flying off the shelves. Only 135 sold.
Sending the mysterious Mr. Question on a scouting mission to Japan, with no preference in style, for 12 months.

I'm on Steam and have launched Fire Promoter for the first time. I think I've made a mistake. I chose "Create Data" and "start with a custom promotion". I loaded up my "collections" promotion which has 21 stables/3779 wrestlers. This "promotion" is actually a large collection of wrestlers sorted by editor (Senator, Avenger, Phil Parent, DesertPunk, Otaku, etc). The game will not let me progress or go back to the option screen. The game is not frozen, background music is playing, and the diagonal chain in the background is still moving. I am assuming Fire Promoter is loading up all 3779 wrestlers and that it will take a while. In hindsight, I should have followed Phil's advice and used the default NJPW roster to get my feet wet with this new mode. Feedback would be appreciated. Thank you!

You might want to separate the edits you want to use into their own promotions.

So this is the first time I've ever tried this. Never got to play MoR. Since we can only start Fire Promoter with 6 wrestlers, what are the strategies you guys are using to choose who you want to start with and pad a card out? Since 6 people aren't enough for an entire card, I assume that means that we have to invite wrestlers from other promotions. With 6 wrestlers, you can't really have enough for 2 tag teams unless you also plan to do a lot of singles matches between the tag team edits and have them contend for singles titles too.
How long does it take until you can sign/use more wrestlers from your home promotion?
My first card got an 84% rating overall but we lost a ton of money cause I chose too big an arena, LOL.
Gonna try this one again 😀

I noticed some guys didnt show up in the free hire pool even when I check their region. Perhaps that means They are discoverable through the scout?

The mode would really benefit from company logos like the gba version to help you quickly find the fed you are looking for.

I'm learning that you want to team up with the weaker promotions to fill your card in the beginning. If they accept your invite to wrestle on your card it will apparently, eventually, increase your good will with them so you can do shared shows. I haven't been able to purchase talent yet, and freelancers usually want a lot of money to just be on your show. I love the thought behind this whole thing, I love worrying about money and picturing my six guys working their asses off and management trying to be buddy buddy with the other small promotions. I'm up way to late and I have work in the morning but I'm super happy with this so far. Please everyone tell more stories like Phil cause they are very entertaining

I only played one event and it was great! It's like playing a sleeker version of MOTR on the GBA (Except I feel my translation job is slightly better!). I love the venue choice, sponsors and marked out big time with the news section at the end of my event. At the moment I'm carefully curating my roster to reduce the number of promotions so I can get every edit into Promoter mode. Is there an upward limit of wrestlers? I'm going to find out latter today if there is.

I chose CMLL as my fed, and after building up a great base in Mexico, packed a large building for the championship tournament. Volador won it and promptly lost it to a visiting champion from another promotion. Every couple months I'd get that champ to come back and defend it, and he'd still fuck up Volador or Caristico every time.
That same fed kept accepting my Niebla Roja as a loan, and I have no idea when he did it but my guy went over there and got our god damn belt back. My man.

DAMN IT KAZUO!! I invite you to a show and THIS happens: I can only IMAGINE what style he wants and it rhymes with "interblender" He's probably just annoyed that RYOMA and Tetsu were part of the original 6 and not him. Edit: Anyone else notice that you can't access all of your refs?
