The Sky Dragons vs. Honey Popsicle for the Academy Tag Team Championships Two upcoming debuts for tomorrow night's show. Angela Rivera will start things off with her closest stylistic match, bringing a little bit of the Butterfloor style into the Academy against fellow rookie Olivia Van Acker. Immediately after that, a hotly anticipated name will make her first Academy appearance as well... Marina Olesk, hailing from Estonia, has apparently worked under the tutelage of two legendary veterans: Leander Grey, and Yuki Maeda. This could lead to an absolutely horrifying combination... but Marina's relative inexperience will ensure that she's unlikely to be completely overwhelming. Time will tell, however, as she debuts against Manamea Tatupu. Plenty of other action to be had as well: the Battle Royal Championship, now held by Asha Nelson, will be on the line. Kasey Ryder faces a tough defense: every match could be her last appearance in the Academy, and Allie Katt is determined to make sure that's this show. And capping off the night, dominant tag team champions Honey Popsicle will face a red-hot duo, with the Sky Dragons looking to claim their first Academy gold... |

Bonus: The Sheridan Brothers def. Steele and Silvers Write-ups (yes, really)  Quite the successful debut for Angela Rivera, bringing a distinctly Butterfloor-tinged style into the Academy ring, and outlasting Olivia Van Acker on the mat to catch an Ankle Lock and score the submission.  Highly-touted prospect Marina Olesk also made her debut here, and she was impressive as well, fighting hard against Manamea Tatupu and coming away with a firm victory, scoring big with a signature submission: a Sharpshooter variation with a whole lot of ferocity behind it.  Somewhat directionless at times, this match pushed right up against the time limit. anima.box did pull off the win, but how seriously were they taking this match, in the end? There is no screenshot for Maria vs. Shelly. It's the same thing that happened the last time these two met over a year ago. It was a mistake then, and it's a mistake now. my brain still hurts  The first of the new rookie class to attain gold is none other than the Mongolian powerhouse, Sokhatai Batsaikhan. She was a pure wrecking ball tonight, coming away looking tremendous, and she's surely destined for great things if she can keep this sort of run going.  Spectacular. Easily the top match of the night, this was absolutely tremendous, with Silvers and Tisdale matching up extremely well, neither wanting to give an inch to the other as they threw nearly everything in their arsenal at the other. Silvers eventually came up with a victory, but this was a huge stock-raising match for both women.  Y-Pac came into this one as the favorite, and she did not disappoint, outlasting both Fuyuki Takenaka and Yuki Okamura to ensure she stood at the top of the rankings. As we would find out, she wound up with a very good reason to want to stay on top:  Kasey Ryder is not ready to let go of her gold just yet. Despite being a graduate and now a member of AFW, Kasey's still the Academy Champion, and the Academy isn't in the business of vacating titles. Allie Katt gave this one hell of a fight, but Kasey would come away with the win, and the championship remains with the agile Florida native.  An extremely good night for the Sky Dragons, who came out with the best match of their young careers, resulting in their first Academy gold. Nimbus becomes the second of the rookies to win a title after Sokhatai, and Altarya is beginning to live up to her hype... she looked spectacular here, but it was Nimbus that would score the decisive fall to win the titles.  A little extra action from, who else, the Sheridan Brothers. These two have been popping up everywhere since their big revamp, and despite not really intended to be in an Academy ring, they still showed up to face Steele and Silvers, and eventually (despite a bit of a mess at the finish) picking up the victory. They just might be legit... |
