You aren't kidding about Hanami's gear and overall look - she looks awesome!! I especially love the top and forearm gear along with her overall color scheme.
I do the same thing too. I make my rookie edits as main event edits first then devolve their moveset, parameters, and appearance to be in line with rookies. It's just easier for me to work backward.
Cerise vs. Mieko was a great match and I love the finish. Mieko's arm was basically dangling off her shoulder and so she ends the match with a move that uses minimal arm involvement.
Really thought Lexi's kick combo plus running splash was going to take the match so gotta respect Hanami's resiliency! But that final tiger suplex, tigerbomb assault was just too much. Hanami really did show a lot of spirit here so that got her noticed in a positive way. Lexi is a beast too!

While SWA has been around since 2000, the actual history of what became SWA stretches as far back as 1992, with the foundation of NorthWest Pro Wrestling. Originally founded with the intention that it would showcase Brad "The Barrier" Darren, Jim Tarler, and Aaron Castille as main attractions, by 1994 they had found the real face of the promotion, and his name was Alex Morgainne. What I'm saying is that I've been going back recently and watching some old NWPW tapes. The downfall of NWPW is infamous, but the promotion itself has a long and fairly complicated history that I wanted to learn more about. I have started on a project that I've been meaning to do for a number of years. Right now these are just appearances and finishers, but eventually I'd like this to be a fully-featured set of edits. This is a very long-term project as I don't want to burn myself out working on too much at once. Angry Wrasslin' Nerd blog post Sunday night/Monday morning. Please look forward to it!

My knowledge about NWPW is actually pretty lacking compared to my SWA knowledge, so I contacted the Angry Wrasslin' Nerd to see if he could provide me more detail. Here is his response, in full:
He may have unblocked me, but I see he still hasn't worked on his communication skills any.

If so, how many times has it been banned? 😁 While SWA has been around since 2000, the actual history of what became SWA stretches as far back as 1992, with the foundation of NorthWest Pro Wrestling. This is a very long-term project as I don't want to burn myself out working on too much at once. Angry Wrasslin' Nerd blog post Sunday night/Monday morning. Please look forward to it! This is a really cool edit project!! I'm still trying to slowly finish a "retro style" version of Bolt from the 90's but his moveset is so out of control with BFMS that I feel dirty finishing it 😅 I had one version of it in FPR that was pretty good though so I could probably port that and ignore the Workshop moves. The one easy thing about doing a retro edit is you can ignore all of the more recent popular moves. If you asked Bolt what a "shining wizard" or "Ripcord" was, he'd just shrug and walk away. Crescendo 2023 was a great show and I really loved the commentary! It was a great balance of AWN character, progression of storylines with history included, and overall narrative of the match. You didn't get bogged down in play-by-play which I tend to do sometimes. I need to move away from that and go for more overview/summary style for the majority of my matches. Aguijon Tachibana vs. Clint Oliver sounded like the MoTN to me. A lot of Samael hate scattered throughout 😄 I like how you kept AWN's own anger against Samael, his history of hating Los Diablos (and progression of his reaction to them), prominent to s how his views on things. You really injected a ton of character and style into this write-up!

The Angry Wrasslin' Nerd has never actually confirmed or denied having an account on OGJoshiFan.net. It's an open secret that a lot of OGJoshiFan posters are well known IWC people or wrestlers themselves screwing around and having fun. Ruby Moreno is known to have multiple accounts. I've long suspected the Nerd of being OGJoshiFan forums poster WiTTy_Namez but he denies it.

Moreno orchestrated multiple server overload attacks by having all of her accounts post Destiny propaganda at the same time. Then she sued OG-Joshi claiming that they needed to moderate the site better even though the fan forums are independent. Gauntlet may have been more dangerous but Ruby really knew how to piss off OG-Joshi and Jean Carter. I bet the Angry Wrestling Nerd was the guy who got this footage years ago and either posted it under that assumed account or handed it off to someone else for "clout" in exchange for a year of hot pockets.

Anyone else ever feel like SWA kind of moves on from their PPV shows to the next thing maybe a little too quickly? I dunno, I was just thinking about it because tonight, only one week after Crescendo, they announced the blocks for this year's World Open. Minor issue really, I guess, but just something I was thinking about. Anyway, here are the blocks they announced:
My thoughts: A Block is pretty strong this year, with a fair number of good matchups. I'm always up for some Armel St. Martin vs. Kazuo Saji action. Interested to see what Carlos Ortega-Reyes brings to the tournament, assuming he can manage to go 7 straight matches without getting disqualified, which seems a bit unlikely.
My thoughts: Javier Valiente is this year's other tournament newcomer, alongside Carlos Ortega-Reyes. I'm interested to see how he does, as this will be one of the biggest tests he's faced in SWA, especially with Samael in his block. Speaking of Samael, this block is full of some of his most hated enemies, with Connor Cipris, Fabio Silva, Aaron Wolff, and Kyle Sieras all lined up for him. Between that and him also sharing a block with faction-mate Tommy Powers, it's enough to make me suspect that Samael has taken a page from N-Trio's book and gotten himself into management's ear somehow. I wonder if Tommy will lay down for Samael?
One other odd tidbit of SWA news managed to makes it's way to me this week: Rumor has it that El Hijo de Toxico no-showed his booked matches this week. Which is weird, but then what is El Hijo de Toxico if not weird? Hope everything's okay.

Block A looks like it's gonna produce some bangers! Can't wait for the Saji/Armel rematch!!
Block B looks like it's gonna produce some major beatdowns. Samael is definitely executing his "Enemies List" here. I bet him vs. Fabio is gonna be a bloodbath 😱

Saw this posted on Lina's Twitter: Fireball 313 @fireball_313 WTF, Toxxie? Found this wacky BS taped to the locker room mirror. Looks like we may have at least a small clue as to where BHB's resident Lucha-goober went? Kinda?

Justice and Britney. Truly a wrestler's wrestler if ever there was one.

The reactions are rolling in from other members of BHB:
There's been no official response from SWA yet, but it looks like they've quietly removed El Hijo de Toxico from their roster page. I'm doing the same here.

The announcements just keep rolling in from SWA, and this week on Joshi they announced that the SWA Joshi Japan Tour is back, baby! That's right, throughout March, as the men participate in the World Open, the women of SWA Joshi will be wrestling all over Japan, with the tour culminating in a show at the world-famous Yurakuen Hall on 3/15! No cards announced yet, but we can expect a Joshi Championship defense at Yurakuen Hall, and we always get at least a couple fun surprises on this tour, so I'm looking forward to seeing who shows up.
