There's a chance of snow up here this Saturday.
Saturday, April 18th. Which is a very late date for snow, even for New England.
As if this year wasn't WTF-y enough.

Yeah, ours is tonight into tomorrow. Very WTF indeed (though I have seen it in May here so it's not unheard of, just weird)

On night shift now and it's blizzarding so hard out now it made the power in the plant bump. We were just told if the power bumps again to get our stuff and go to the cafeteria, which means they'll likely send people home.

Power stayed on so they didn't let us leave. Should be turning to rain by the time we leave.

This has got to be the most intense thunderstorm I've seen in ages. The rain is about as horizontal as it can get.
On a side note, what is it about bad weather that makes people run out and load up on stuff they don't need in the middle of it?

I'm officially calling it Fall now. For the last week we've had temperature drops enough that my air conditioner actually turns off. Also definitely noticing getting out of bed in the morning for work and seeing its still dark out has me officially calling it.

What passes for winter weather around here is already upon us and causing trouble. So much for fall.

So on Friday here, our weather forecast indicated we could get up to 5 cm (~2”) of snow Saturday, no big deal. I should add that environment Canada has installed a pile of new, high powered, top end doplar radar systems across the country that are supposed to give very detailed data and eliminate confounding background noise and all of that stuff.
30+ cm (12”) later, what the hell happened? We get snow where I am in Canada, not as much as the maritimes or some other places further east (not saying much, we still get shit tons of snow), but I guess we got ALL of the snow yesterday. Typical bullshit, pickups tailgating everyone and sliding into ditches, other cars going 20 km/hr and all of that. I shoveled four times yesterday so that it wouldn’t be a total gong show today, it payed off. 🙂
Hopefully everyone else here still has good weather and you're all safe! And hopefully you have good weather forecasters!

Today was officially "cold" although I really didn't notice it aside from my hands being wet from using so many cleaning wipes and sanitizer. And yes, we all had a "I'm so glad certain people aren't around to hear us laugh" when maintenance said "oooh, it reads 69!"

We just had our first weather warning for snowfall of the season for Thursday. Only 15cm which isn’t that bad and fortunately it’s on a day I’m not working anyway. We haven’t had anything but flurries yet so I’m not complaining.
