In the middle of the polar vortex trying to kill everyone.

Now we've gone from ice to insane winds. If I'm walking today looks like I'll be doubling up on all my clothes.
EDIT: Day 2, this wind will just not die down.

No you don't. I mean unless you live in the 98% of the land in Australia that is desert. Start with small stuff like cold air. We have plenty of that to give you. I'll set up a fan.

Day 3 and the wind is still shaking my house. It looks like a sunny Spring day outside, but a windchill that is keeping everyone indoors. I pity anyone who has to work outside this week. Come Wednesday they're calling for an end to the winds but we'll be getting a snowstorm of anywhere from 25 to 35 centimeters. This is the reason I always take the month of February off, so I can't complain since I won't be on the roads.

Forecast has been downgraded to 7 to 13 inches. Still substantial.

Lucky I have AC but would go down south any time much cooler down in Melbourne, Adelaide / Tasmania.

The wind finally stopped. Weather says it's supposed to start up again before the storm on Wednesday so I am going to at least try and get 12 miles in today while everything still looks like a spring day. Still cold, but at least no windchill.

Silent Hill level fog here this morning, I went for a walk and wondered if I shouldn't have a radio, a flashlight, and a giant metal pipe in case a creepy baby with a butcher knife scuttled out from under a car as I walked by. Crazy stuff, about two and a half weeks ago it was -32 C, this Thursday it was 18 C! My walk was awesome this morning, felt like being in a cold steam room (it's 4 C right now) and you could barely see across the street. I also heard geese (not THAT one...) this morning, so I guess spring is almost here! :)

All our snow is pretty much gone, been getting lots of rain though. Managed to get all twelve miles walking done on Friday. Gonna wait until next month to get the snow tires taken off though. Last year, on the last day of March we were hit with a bad blizzard.

Yeah, so it WAS silent hill fog and not just me. Pyramid Head and his meteorological emminations gounded and delayed flights today. We get fog like anyplace else, but this stuff was atypically thick. Cool as hell!

If that fog continues for like a week, you'll probably want to start collecting items!! 🎒👜

BakFuI hope your area didn't have serious car accidents if the fog was thick as you described. Last month in my area, we had a 131 vehicle pile up due to white out conditions in a snow storm. It was insane. Seeing the photos of the wreckage was surreal.
