Sad I missed this, but it looks like the entire show was a banger in true ZIP Japan style. Surprised Blayze Kindler qualified. Probably one of the biggest wins of his whole career.
Looking forward to seeing him face Ramses. I know from watching some L&L that he will be a difficult challenge to the fiery veteran.

Blayze Kindler promo "Just in case anyone was wondering if my fire had gone dim after relegating myself to team with Sesi, I can safely say that it's still burning quite brightly. All that training with Sesi has paid off. You have to be resilient when ZIP Japan comes knocking at your door.
As for Swinger, that goofball should take heed of some veteran advice. He needs to stay off the top ropes until he knows for sure he's going to hit his moves. He missed twice before that finish and I was ready for that third attempt. Take it from a former masked luchador like me. I don't pull out the Firebird Splash until it's absolutely necessary.
I won't even get into the foreign object crap. You're too young to be using weapons and I've honestly had worse. Have fun returning to whatever Hollywood cesspool you creeped out of.
On to the second round I go. I hope you are taking notes, Ramses. It'll take more than desert heat to match the intensity of this fire!"

Roy Carter "Lewis Smith...fuck man, I gave you everything I had and you just kept taking it. That was a war...but we are not done. Keep doing what you gotta do in Japan. When you get back, you and me are going another round. Warrior Pro, No Refunds, I don't care. But I want a rematch. Lets beat the shit out of each other again."

The ZIP Japan camera catches up with Lariat Brisco as he is pumping a ridiculous amount of iron at a small gym somewhere in Japan. The place is nearly empty, and Brisco immediately looks not happy at the intrusion.
"I suppose you're here cause you want a few words about my match this week. I suppose you want a few words about the match I already had. Well let me tell you how it is. Over in T.E.W. we just finished a twenty day tour to crown the first Heavyweight Champion. I wrestled nine times in my block of the tournament and I won seven of my matches against some of the best god damn talent in the world. It was enough to send me to the finals against one of the best wrestlers on the planet, and yeah, I may have come up a little bit short, but there will be another time for Lariat Brisco.
So the tour was over, and I was looking forward to heading back to Texas for a little R and R, when the boss comes to me and informs me that I have the "honor" of going to Japan and competing in the Z-1 Climax. Now, you'll have to excuse the shit out of me for not knowing what the hell a Z-1 Climax was, and you'll have to forgive me for being more than a little pissed off that instead of getting to go home after nearly a month on the road I am getting sent to the land of rice and midgets all because Whitfield James wants to bone some big headed Asian broad that loaned him a guy wearing a fucking cat mask!!
But hell, if they want to pay me a bunch of money to come over here and beat the shit out of some Japanese dudes, I guess I may as well oblige, maybe it will help get rid of some of this anger I am feeling. They tell me these days you are supposed to let that shit go.
So first, Akira Something or the other stepped up to the plate, and I'll give the fella some credit, he could fight. But try as he might, once I dropped him on his stupid looking headband with my Talentizer and then tore his head clear off with a Lariat, he was done for the night, and I moved on to the main show. Fucking ridiculous that I had to qualify in the first place, don't these ZIP's know that I am called "The Talent" for a reason.
Starting to wonder if maybe they are a little pissed off that the guy in the cat mask got made to look like a bitch over in Total Elimination. That feeling got a little stronger when I see that instead of one of the outsiders they brought in for the tournament, my first round opponent is one of their home grown talents. Ain't that cute, a conspiracy against old Lariat Brisco. But it doesn't matter...
You tell the little bald prick in the cute blue leotard that if he thinks he stands a chance against me, he is going to find his shiny melon split wide open, and he'll be wondering what the hell happened when he is staring at the lights.
Then when I run through the rest of these losers and go on to win the whole stinking tournament, I'll take the ZIP Title back to Texas with me. Oh... Reiko, Tomi....you can come with me if you want. But one of you'd best learn to cook a steak before we get there."
With a smirk Brisco turns back toward the weight bench and the camera fades out.

A word from Mohammad Ramses Mohammad Ramses: (Translated from Arabic) <It pleases me to address you today as a certified member of the prestigious Z-1 Climax tournament. My match with Mark Hodge was delightful and challenging. I have heard that Mark was not at his best, but that did not make him any less difficult to defeat. My most generous wishes are with you, Mark, and I hope that you may again face me when you are at the height of your powers. I am pleased to see that I have another worthy opponent this week. Blayze Kindler has a long and storied past, and is a force to be reckoned with in the present. I will be blessed if I am able to overcome him in our match. Blayze has spoken of the intensity of the fire that metaphorically burns within him. And he believes that his fiery essence is more powerful than my heritage. But I remind you, Blayze, that while a fire burns hot, it quickly burns out. Let that not occur when we face. I have proven that like the desert sun, I will once again rise when it is time. Let us again return to the ring, and test our strength!>

Well the first round of the Z-1 Climax is in the books, and the show did not disappoint! Thanks to everyone who came out to support ZIP JAPAN and the great edit makers involved in the tournament. If you missed the show, the current archive is here: www.twitch.tv/videos/301473614ZIP JAPAN Z-1 Climax Night One Results Z-1 Climax First round matches Block A - Snickers CRUNCHER (Soak314) vs Roderick Brookes (kingradical) A real war to start things off. Cruncher worked those legs HARD, but Roddy's guts proved decisive, giving him the opportunity to land a series of devastating powerbombs to advance. - Donnie Doogan (ZIP JAPAN) vs Rey de la Carne (Officer Brightly) Some awesome action here between two of the greasiest edits in Fire Pro. Rey hit a diving elbow and a powerbomb, Doogan followed with a Doogan Hammer II, which Rey no sold before diving over the top rope. Eventually, Doogan got the best of things with a huge Doogan Hammer. Rey had the MOTN during qualifiers, and this was definitely an early shout for MOTN tonight too. - Todd Colton (FireHawk) vs Hiko Sojirou (brick9mm) The excellence continued here, with Todd working Hiko's arms like crazy as both traded nearfalls forever. Eventually Hiko somehow managed to hit the Soul's Refrain powerbomb with dead arms to move on in the tourney. - Lariat Brisco (Blehschmidt) vs Maki Yoshida (ZIP JAPAN) Brisco was just too much for Yoshida to handle tonight, he nearly decapitated that granite head with his Stomping lariat out of the corner. To Determine No 1 Contender for the ZIP JAPAN Tag Team Championship - Storm of the Century (Nakajima/Fist) vs Pure HEEL (Sawada/Kobayashi) Phenomenal tag team match, both teams going balls to the wall to earn that title shot. Kenzo was in total beast mode for large chunks of this match, no selling and head dropping like a mofo. Nakajima took most of the beatings for his team, though he also got a couple of pin saves for Thunder Fist before Fist knocked Kenzo the fuck OUT. Storm of the Century will get their shot to win back the Tag Team Championship! MOTN contender here. Z-1 Climax First round matches Block B - Akira Shinjo (ZIP JAPAN) vs Silver Demon (romanticmisery) More crazy action here, with headdrops galore and both guys getting more 2.9 counts than you could shake a stick at. Silver Demon performed heroically, but homegrown ZIP JAPAN talent Akira Shinjo earned his spot in the next round with the second Sheer Drop Brainbuster of the match. Another MOTN contender. - GORO (ZIP JAPAN) vs Kenneth (xeroprogram) Wow, I totally thought GORO was going to coast his way into the semis at least, but Kenneth had some other ideas tonight. A brutal back and forth match that had some of everything. Dives, head drops, striking and grappling heaven. I said it after the qualifiers and I'll say it again, it's going to take something special to beat Kenneth. - Yoshihiro Mikasa (thelodger) vs Lewis Smith (norefunds) Probably the closest thing to a hoss match in this round, two big boys going at it. No finesse here, just raw power from both guys, throwing absolutely everything at each other. Plenty of nearfalls before Mikasa put Lewis down for the three count with a nasty Fire Thunder head drop. - Mohammad Ramses (Senator) vs Blayze Kindler (Zealot) The final first round match of the Z-1 Climax, and a doozy. Solid action with an excellent finish, as Blayze nailed a couple of big buzzsaw kicks, seemingly in anger after Mohammad no sold a running kick on the ground. Blayze advances to round 2. To Determine No 1 Contender for the ZIP JAPAN Junior Heavyweight Championship - Tetsuo K vs Johnny Rekless vs ECKO The meteoric rise of Johnny Rekless in ZIP JAPAN shows no signs of slowing down, as he put in a dominant aerial performance tonight to become #1 Contender for the Junior Championship. Johnny absorbed plenty of punishment courtesy his masked opponents, but showed his acrobatic skill securing two quick pins with an Inverted 450 and a Shooting Star Press. ZIP JAPAN Joshi Championship match - Yumi Yamaguchi vs Hanako Yoshii (c) A very solid and enjoyable main event tonight...the only title match on the card, but it was worth the wait. Yumi had some big spots in this one, but Hanako's armwork seems unbeatable at the moment. Armbar, center of the ring, over. Hanako Yoshii retains her Joshi Championship! Thanks again to everyone who came out to watch, I'll be streaming again next Friday, August 31, including all the remaining matches of the Z-1 Climax! Full card is already up in the first post of this thread! See you then!

Another word with Blayze Kindler The flames of battle haven't burned this bright in quite a while. I almost forgot how this truly feels after so many years of going nowhere.
I would celebrate with Sesi on this, but I know he's got his own work to do at the 49th Parallel Tournament coming up. I would even say that fortune smiled upon me while it gave Mohammad over there nothing but sand in his eyes.
However, it has to be stressed once more that wisdom is paying off. You made one false move, Ramses. You didn't take your notes like I suggested. You relied on your faith and blessings and they got you nowhere, kid. Perhaps the sands of time will fall in your favor one day.
Heh, I don't even know why I feel generous to pass on this advice to anyone despite my veteran status. I am by no means oblivious to what others have said about me. You can cheer for whoever you want. You call me "lame" or "generic". You can make fun of the way I look or do whatever you fancy. The fact of the matter is that I put my ass on the line every night I enter that squared circle. Even in defeat, I make it my utmost intention every damn time I fight that my adversaries are reminded of the fire and fury that has been laid upon them. The wounds I leave do not let them forget my name.
Mikasa-bō, you better bring the same intensity when we clash. Prove to me what I've been wanting all this time. Prove to me that is what I signed up for with this tournament. Prove this or be left in a trail of embers like all the rest.

ZIP JAPAN Promo Roundup! *camera fades in on Wataru Nakajima and Thunder Fist standing in front of a ZIP JAPAN banner. Fist is standing still with his arms folded, while Nakajima is very animated, pacing back and forth in front of Fist and gesturing wildly*
Nakajima: <This is it, my boy, our big chance! We're finally heading back to the big time!>
Thunder Fist: <Big...time? How is time, um...big?>
Nakajima: <Just a manner of speaking my boy...what I mean is we have our shot to win back the ZIP JAPAN Tag Team Championships! You know, the big shiny belts!>
*Nakajima mimes a belt around his waist and Thunder Fist quickly follows suit, patting his own belly as well*
Thunder Fist: <Fist like shiny!>
Nakajima: <Of course you do, with good reason! Those shiny belts prove to everyone that we are the best team in all of ZIP JAPAN! This Friday, we need to be at our absolute best to defeat the dastardly Green Crush!>
Thunder Fist: <NAKAJEEMA FIST BEST TEAM! WE WIN FOR SURE!>
Nakajima: <Yes, my boy! Best team, win big!>
Thunder Fist: <Big TIME! HAW HAW HAW!>
Nakajima: (to the camera) <Kaneshiro-san! Thunder Fist outmatches you in sheer power! Kiriyama-san! I outmatch you in sheer cunning and wrestling skill! The Storm of the Century is coming for you both, and we want what is ours! Enjoy your last couple of days as ZIP JAPAN Tag Team Champions, because Friday night will see the return of Nakajima Fist to the top of the mountain!>
*Nakajima and Thunder Fist share an enthusiastic high five before walking off the set together. A ZIP JAPAN logo swooshes across the screen to reveal Aya Mizuno in closeup. As the shot slowly pans back, Mizuno shivers and smiles as a long tongue snakes in from off camera and licks up the side of her neck*
Mizuno: (practically purring) <Oooh baby, you know what I like...>
*the camera continues pulling back to reveal Demon Otsu behind Mizuno, looming over her shoulder and resting his hands on her hips*
Mizuno: <You know what else I like? Being first. This Friday, for the first time ever, ZIP JAPAN will be presenting a mixed tag team match. Of course I am participating with my man Otsu, and of course we will win it. Our opponents will be the self proclaimed Queen of Kawaii, Momoe Ito, and her partner is the completely boring and vanilla chump known as Jin Matsuda. Sure Matsuda is a former Champ, but so it Otsu, and Otsu at least has a personality. And what has Ito ever achieved? Last time I remember seeing her, she was getting her ass beat by Cutie fucking Booties, one of the biggest losers to ever step into the ring!>
*Otsu is giggling quietly by now, and begins swiveling his hips against Mizuno's backside. She closes her eyes for a second, grinning and inhaling deeply, before reaching over her shoulder and playfully swatting Otsu in the face*
Mizuno: <Naughty boy! You distracted me. Now where was I? Oh yes, humiliating Momoe Ito. Ito and Matsuda haven't got a prayer against the two of us...and once I've finished with Ito, I'll be coming for Hanako Yoshii. Yoshii, I haven't forgotten about you, and how you've been keeping my Joshi Championship warm for me. You've never beaten me, and I don't see how you're gonna start now. I'll have my shot against you sooner than you know, and it'll be curtains on your joke of a title reign!
*Demon Otsu leans in and whispers something into Mizuno's ear*
Mizuno: <You're right, hot stuff. These people have seen enough for now. Until Friday night, suckers!>
*Mizuno and Otsu stroll off the set, cackling to each other. A ZIP JAPAN logo swoosh transitions to Darkness HAGE in front of a banner, the ZIP JAPAN Junior Heavyweight belt draped over his left shoulder*
HAGE: <I have walked the path of violence and destruction. I have drunk deeply of the darkness that dwells within. I have found the end of the blackened rainbow and the pot of gold is now mine and mine alone!>
*HAGE hoists up the belt, exulting in his triumph*
HAGE: <I am the man who made the ZIP JAPAN Junior Division what it is today, and once again I stand tall over everyone else! Katagiri was a formidable opponent, but was crushed under the weight of my history and his own fear of failure. Now I look forward to my first title defense....against a young man whose meteoric rise resembles that of my own many years past. A rise not unlike that which I had envisioned for my student Hamada, but usurped by this upstart gaijin, Johnny Rekless! Rekless, it's cliche, but you remind me of myself in happier times. You're a gifted wrestler and your future has the potential to be very bright indeed...that is, unless that brightness is dimmed forever by my Darkness! HAHA! This Friday at night two of the Z-1 Climax Tournament, I'll put you to the test and see if you're up to the required standard for MY Juniors Division!>
*HAGE holds the camera with his intense glare as the image fades slowly to black*
