Promotion History: ZIP JAPAN was founded in the late 1980s by Mr. ZIP, a pro wrestler who wanted to break away from the established promotions in Japan. For many years, Mr. ZIP was both the head booker and top wrestler, and held the promotion's Heavyweight Championship on several occasions. After wrestling for many years as a babyface, Mr. ZIP turned heel and became the monster heel King ZIP. Among King ZIP's main in-ring rivals during this era were Crusher Kodo, Genki Raiga and the brutal Kintaro. After a lengthy and successful wrestling career, King ZIP retired from active duty in the late 90s, but maintained control over the booking.
In the mid-2000s, ZIP JAPAN enjoyed its greatest period of success, led by the popular babyface Heavyweight Champion Gorobei, who went on an undefeated streak lasting nearly 3 years. During this era, the company showcased many interpromotional cards and even performed in North America on several occasions. This boom period coincided with the rise of stars like heavyweights Akira Shinjo and Mr. Suplex, and juniors ECKO, Justin Starr and the Great HAGE, all of whom excelled at the fast paced, hard hitting style ZIP JAPAN had become known for.
After the passing of King ZIP in 2015, the operation and booking of ZIP JAPAN was taken over by his 3 daughters, Reiko, Tomi and Suki. Current head booker Reiko ZIP is also the promotion's head referee, and it is hoped that under her guidance ZIP JAPAN can return to the heights of success enjoyed by her father. ZIP JAPAN RosterHeavyweight Faces: Akira Shinjo Former prodigy of ZIP JAPAN legend Genki Raiga, Shinjo is an intense wrestler and unofficial leader in the locker room. This multi-time ZIP JAPAN Heavyweight Champion suffered a serious biceps injury several years ago, which forced him to adjust his suplex-based moveset. While he still enjoys tossing his opponents across (or out of) the ring, these days he relies more on his devastating kicks to deal maximum damage. Daisuke Shimura *Heavyweight Champ Shimura is a versatile fan favorite who can strike equally well with his feet, fists, elbows or knees. He likes to use stiff strikes to set up the Sasori-gatame, but if his regular arsenal isn't proving effective, his repertoire also includes several nasty slams and suplexes. This former ZIP JAPAN Heavyweight Champion has just returned to action after several months on the shelf with a quadriceps injury, suffered in a match with Donnie Doogan. Jimmy Nails No-nonsense Canadian grappler Jimmy Nails is a living embodiment of the term "leg work". Jimmy's in-ring style is focused heavily on wearing down his opponents limbs before applying one of his signature submissions. One half of obligatory gaijin tag team with Mickey Grinds. Jin Matsuda Long time fans of ZIP JAPAN might remember Jin Matsuda who had a very brief run as half of a Junior tag team with Minoru Hoshino several years back. Unfortunately, the team (along with the Junior Tag Divsion) didn't last and Matsuda went to work for another promotion. He made his return to ZIP JAPAN last year, now wrestling as a high-flying heavyweight, and recently formed a tag team with veteran grappler Maki Yoshida. Maki Yoshida Tough-as-nails veteran of ZIP JAPAN with nearly 30 years of experience in pro wrestling under his belt. Yoshida has something of a reputation for his short fuse, and likes to use his bowling ball-like head to batter his opponents silly before he busts out the stiff suplexes and head drops, or locks in his devastating crossface submission. Tag partner of Jin Matsuda. Mickey Grinds Once a semi-pro skateboarder, Mickey was forced to give up skating due to a series of knee injuries. A long-time fan of pro wrestling, he decided to take a shot at it himself, and after a few years of intense training Mickey has found success in ZIP JAPAN's tag team division. He and his partner Jimmy Nails have held the promotion's Tag Team Championship on 3 separate occasions in the past 10 years. Mr. SuplexAnother former student of Genki Raiga, Mr. Suplex's style is much closer to his mentor than that of Akira Shinjo. A master of multiple varieties of suplexes and back drops, Mr. Suplex has also held the ZIP JAPAN Heavyweight Championship on one occasion. Since the recent passing of Genki Raiga, Mr. Suplex has been utilizing Raiga's old finishing move (a vicious Tiger Suplex hold) as part of his arsenal. Newfie George This rough Canadian brawler just likes to fight. After making a name for himself in several amateur toughman contests, George made the transition into pro wrestling and participated in the first 49th Parallel tournament last year. Following a series of independent bookings over the past year, he has finally signed his first pro contract with ZIP JAPAN. Thunder Fist Descended from the Bakalanga natives of Botswana, the man known as the African Assassin is a brand new face to ZIP JAPAN, having recently been signed from the now defunct fed LLAMMA Pro. He sports a massive pair of forearms, and his reputation for fierce and accurate striking precedes him. ZIP JAPAN's roster has been put on notice: You don't wanna get punched by a guy called Thunder Fist. Despite starting off as a monster heel, the fans of ZIP JAPAN have taken a liking to Thunder Fist, more or less forcing a babyface turn onto him. Wataru Nakajima Known as "The Patriarch", Nakajima is both the oldest and the longest serving member of ZIP JAPAN's roster. Occasional tag partner of ZIP JAPAN legend Crusher Kodo, Nakajima has been steadily racking up victories in ZIP JAPAN for almost 30 years. Now well into his 60s, Nakajima is a tough and experienced hand who can still compete with grapplers half his age. Heavyweight Heels: Asano Kaneshiro Kaneshiro is a brash and boisterous man, whose huge physical presence makes him one of the most feared heels in ZIP JAPAN. A strong competitor and multi-time Tag Team Champion, Kaneshiro might be hated by the fans, but he is well respected by anyone who has faced him in the ring and survived. Demon Otsu This elusive and frightening wrestler has been a regular part of ZIP JAPAN for nearly 10 years, tormenting his opponents with his freakish strength, high impact offense and bizarre behavior. Otsu originally wore a green mask, but recently debuted a disturbing new look featuring a red mask and painted torso. Donnie Doogan *Tag Team Champ This muscle bound monster from the USA has spent the last several years working his way up the card and establishing himself as the one of the top heels in ZIP JAPAN. Although he has a reputation for being somewhat dim, he is a fearsome competitor who knows exactly how to make the most of his strength advantage over his opponents. Dougie Doogan *Tag Team Champ Loudmouthed younger brother of Donnie Doogan. DOOGAN BROS! GORO Son of legendary ZIP JAPAN Champion Gorobei, Gorobei Jr started his career as a high flyer in the Junior division. After a few years of success he began bulking up, adding significant muscle mass to his frame and is now a regular competitor in the Heavyweight division. He recently turned heel and changed his name to GORO. Kenji SawadaWith his partner Kenzo Kobayashi, Sawada has proven his skills in the ring can match his ability to run his mouth. A disrespectful heel who is not shy about verbally abusing his opponents before savagely beating them down, Sawada has found success using a largely power-based offense despte having an average build. Kenzo Kobayashi One half of a successful tag team with Kenji Sawada, Kobayashi has been a continual presence in the ZIP JAPAN Heavyweight and Tag Team divisions for nearly 15 years. A big proponent of dropping his opponents on their heads, Kobayashi has also garnered a reputation as a braggart, who goes out of his way to inflict injury and then boasts about it. What a bastard. Mad Bomber The man known only as Mad Bomber has been terrorizing both the fans and the roster of ZIP JAPAN for many years. Acting like a possessed maniac in the ring, he smashes down his opponents defenses and flattens them with one of his many powerbomb variations. Mad Bomber's true identity is unknown, as no one has ever managed to photograph him without his trademark black hood... Takeshi Kiriyama Silent and menacing are the two words most often used to describe this brooding heel wrestler. Rumored links with organized crime in Japan have never been proven, and Kiriyama himself has never commented on them. In fact, Kiriyama has never given an interview during his entire ZIP JAPAN career, preferring to let his actions in the ring (and his tag partner Asano Kaneshiro) do his talking for him. Touma Tanaka A loudmouthed, arrogant heel with the skills in the ring to back up his talk, Tanaka has been tearing up the independent scene for several years in Japan. He has achieved success nearly everywhere he has gone, utilizing his formidable technical skills to win several world championships. Recently signed to ZIP JAPAN and has focused his sights on the ZIP JAPAN Heavyweight Championship. Junior Heavyweight Faces: Danger DanielsOne half of American tag team Rekless Endangerment, Daniels has a more stocky and muscular frame than most of the other Junior Division competitors. He's very aggressive, and skilled at using his power and low center of gravity to throw his opponents around the ring, and also utilizes a variety of devastating lariats and submissions. Johnny Rekless Rekless is a fearless highflyer and master of Flip Style. A former tag specialist on the American indy circuit, he's looking to make his mark as a singles competitor in Japan. After being scouted by the recently retired White Trash, Rekless hopes to take Trash's spot as the resident spot monkey in ZIP JAPAN. Justin Starr Huge fan favorite Justin Starr was originally a darling of the US indy scene before being scouted and signed by King ZIP. He's a multi-time ZIP JAPAN Junior Champion who has been thrilling fans with his fearless dives and vicious submission holds for over a decade. This longtime rival of ECKO is a fierce competitor and a dominant force in the Junior division. Minoru HoshinoThis explosive junior loves to take risks. Employing a versatile arsenal of graceful high-flying and powerful suplexes, Hoshino has been firmly established in the junior division for the past 12 years. This former 2 time ZIP JAPAN Junior Champion has been involved in several epic feuds over the years, against Super Scorpio and (now retired) Yoji Shinichi, among others. Saburo HamadaAn exciting young star-in-the making, Saburo Hamada was trained for the ring by ZIP JAPAN legend Great HAGE, and he shares several characteristics with his mentor, including an incredible resiliency in the ring. He employs a hybrid style of high flying attacks and powerful grapples, and has proven himself capable of handling himself against several different types of opponents. Hamada is looking to make a big impression on ZIP JAPAN fans in his upcoming debut. Tora KatsuAfter working for several different promotions during a short span early on in his career, the masked superstar and fan favorite known as Tora Katsu has found a permanent home in ZIP JAPAN's Junior division for close to 10 years. Katsu's in ring style and ability are comparable to that of his wrestling hero Tiger Mask, a strong mix of striking, technical wrestling and acrobatic dives. Yutaro Ichikawa *Junior Champ Up and coming star of the Japanese independent circuit, Yutaro Ichikawa was recently signed to ZIP JAPAN by Reiko ZIP. Ichikawa is known for the unique combination of his aggressive in ring style and technical skill. His arsenal includes an array of suplexes, stiff strikes and submission holds, but he's also capable of flying around the ring like a luchador. His Cannonball 630 Senton is a thing to behold. Junior Heavyweight Heels: Darkness HAGE After recently making a "one night only" return to team with his protege Saburo Hamada, Great HAGE ended up making his one-off appearance into a full career resurgence to the delight of many ZIP JAPAN fans. However, he quickly embraced his darker nature and re-established his Darkness persona in order to feud with his former student. Time will tell if HAGE can climb the mountain back to the top of the Junior Division. ECKOA dangerous masked wrestler who is still largely a mystery to fans even after nearly 20 years in the promotion. Matches between ECKO and the likes of Justin Starr and Captain Insano Jr helped put the ZIP JAPAN Junior Heavyweight division on the map, and ECKO has held the Junior Championiship on several occasions. His arsenal includes a dangerous mix of high impact power moves and breathtaking dives. Ichiro Katagiri When Ichiro Katagiri first arrived in ZIP JAPAN, many fans took a look at his pink hair and wrestling gear and immediately dismissed him. But after he destroyed the eye socket of Mexican wrestler Raul Veracruz in one of his first matches, people began showing him the respect he is due. A vicious striker with both his knees and his feet, Katagiri is not an opponent to be taken lightly. Satoshi Iguchi Iguchi is a violent and disrespectful punk who is so hated by the fans of ZIP JAPAN, that they cheered as he was removed from the ring on a stretcher after sustaining a career threatening neck injury several years ago. There can be no denying his skills in the ring however, as after he returned from his injury, he went on a tear of victories in which he sadistically injured his opponents. Known by the nickname "Cutter King", Iguchi is the undeniable master of nailing a crushing jawbreaker out of nowhere. Shuji Tsukamoto A dangerous masked junior with past experience in Pro Wrestling NOAH and All Japan Pro Wrestling under his belt, Tsukamoto is a fearsome opponent for any wrestler to face. His scarred torso is a testament to his willingness to put his own body on the line in order to score a win. Tsukamoto favors using a power based offense, including chokeslams and nasty head drops. Super ScorpioThis stocky masked wrestler and ZIP JAPAN veteran lives to kick people in the face. The combination of deadly speed and accuracy makes Super Scorpio's striking deceptively powerful. A former ZIP JAPAN Junior Champion, he won an 8 man tournament on his debut to win the #1 contendership, and ultimately defeated Captain Insano Jr. to win the belt. Scorpio spent the last few years working for CMLL in Mexico and is set to make his return to ZIP JAPAN soon. Tetsuo K Tetsuo K is a whirling maelstrom of feet and fury in the ring, always veiled behind his black demon mask. He usually likes to use a variety of spinning kicks to leave his opponents stunned and prone, before finishing them off with his spectacular Fire Star Splash. This multi-time former ZIP JAPAN Junior Champion has been a dominant fixture in the Junior division for many years. Joshi Faces: Eun-jin ChoiChoi started her career as a judoka, and was South Korea's top prospect for the 2016 Olympic games. As her country's greatest hope for a gold medal, the media dubbed her the "Korean Dream" before a bad shoulder injury forced her out of the competition. Since her recovery, Choi has been plying her trade as a pro wrestler, learning from best in Japan and adapting her skills to the squared circle. Hanako Yoshii After brief stint as a pro MMA fighter, Yoshii made the transition to pro wrestling a couple of years ago and has worked for several independent joshi promotions in Japan. Her reputation for a fierce submission style is well deserved, but she also has a well rounded striking game and a willingness to put her body on the line to get an advantage in a match. Momoe Ito *Joshi Champ The youngest of all the competitors in the Joshi Division, Ito is only 20 years old and a relative newcomer to the world of pro wrestling. Her background is in gymnastics and she represented Japan at the London Olympic Games in 2012. Her athleticism and acrobatic prowess is undoubted, but it remains to be seen if she can parlay her physical skills into pro wrestling success. Rebecca RoxxGood natured Rebecca comes from a tiny farming community in Northern Canada, where the local pastimes included drinking and fighting. Rebecca learned during her teenage years that she was exceptionally skilled at both activities. She eventually got into pro wrestling and trained in Calgary with "a guy who was trained by a guy who once saw a picture of Stu Hart's dungeon". With experience in Canada, the United States and Mexico, Roxx has a hybrid brawling style that will keep her opponents on their toes. Yumi YamaguchiYumi grew up as a fan of ZIP JAPAN, former Heavyweight Champion Gorobei was her childhood hero. After finishing college on an amateur wrestling scholarship, Yumi began training in pro wrestling, and is set to make her debut in the ZIP JAPAN Joshi Division. Her in ring style is fairly strike heavy, focusing on open handed chops and slaps, but her low center of gravity also makes her very good at tossing opponents around the ring. Joshi Heels: Aya MizunoMizuno is the oldest and most experienced wrestler in the Joshi division with almost 16 years as a pro. She (and her distinctive green mohawk) has made appearances for most of the independent joshi promotions in Japan, and had a two year stay in All Japan Women's Pro Wrestling before it folded in 2005. She is a very accomplished grappler with multiple title reigns, whose arsenal includes an array of kicks, suplexes and powerbombs. Cutie BootiesA ruthless striker from Germany, unproven rumors persist that Ms Booties is an illegitimate daughter of King ZIP himself. Regardless of her parentage, Cutie is a woman to be feared, who spent several years in the now defunct fed LLAMMA Pro wrestling against men exclusively. A recent signing for the ZIP JAPAN Joshi Division, she is sure to make her presence felt in the near future. Psycho Witch Physically the biggest and strongest woman in the Joshi division, her incredible mix of raw power and technical grappling skill is not to be taken lightly. As implied by Reiko ZIP during Psycho Witch's introduction to the press & fans, her closest analogue in ZIP JAPAN is the legendary Kintaro. Psycho Witch is similarly ruthless in her pursuit of a victory. Suki ZIPDaughter of King ZIP, part owner of ZIP JAPAN. Suki gave up her job as a referee to take up this spot in the newly formed Joshi Division, and was the main driving force behind its creation. Suki likes to wrestle an aggressive style incorporating many suplexes and submissions, but relies on her father's old finishing move, the ZIP Driver, to get the job done. As a former ref, she also knows how to take advantage of all the rules and isn't afraid to take short cuts in the ring. Vicki ViolenceThis American woman has spent several years on the competitive indy scene in North America, usually shining in promotions that highlight hardcore matches. Her aggression in the ring is her trademark, whether she's battering her opponents with weapons or her own body. Time will tell if her style will mesh with the more traditional wrestlers of ZIP JAPAN to produce entertaining matches for the fans. ZIP JAPAN LEGENDS: Captain Insano Jr.There was never a Captain Insano, but that's no reason not to have a Captain Insano Jr. He's the insane luchador from Mexico, a fearless flyer who retired from in-ring action in 2014. During his run in ZIP JAPAN, he held the Junior Championship on 2 occasions, defeating Yoji Shinichi for his first title, and The Great HAGE for his second. The exposure to Japanese wrestling rubbed off on Insano Jr, as his lucha libre style gradually incorporated more suplexes and martial arts kicks throughout his career. Captain Insano Jr's second attire is from his early days in Mexico. Crusher KodoOne of the original members of ZIP JAPAN's first roster, Kodo was a huge fan favorite, despite his relatively basic moveset that never really changed over his whole career, and consisted of the simplest lariats and slams. The only concession Kodo made to the changing times in wrestling was when he added his now signature finisher, the "Cranium Crusher" during the mid-90's. Kodo was a multi time ZIP JAPAN Heavyweight Champion, having endured a long rivalry against the mighty King ZIP. Kodo retired in 2006 and passed away in 2014. Crusher Kodo's second attire is from his early heel years in ZIP JAPAN. Genki RaigaGenki Raiga may have only ever held the ZIP JAPAN Heavyweight Championship once in his career, but he will forever be known as the man who ended the lengthy title run of King ZIP. As a young wrestler, Raiga was taken under Mr. ZIP's wing and was guided to success at the top of the card. But after Mr. ZIP became King ZIP, Raiga challenged his mentor for the title, ultimately defeating his former master in a legendary match up. Raiga had an aggressive, lungbursting in-ring style, consisting of many suplexes and throws, and he trained two of ZIP JAPAN's current biggest stars, Mr. Suplex and Akira Shinjo. Raiga retired in 2010 and passed away in early 2017. Genki Raiga's second attire is from his initial few years in ZIP JAPAN. GorobeiGorobei was a tall and handsome powerhouse who the fans adored. He spent many years paying his dues and slowly climbing the ranks of the heavyweight division, gradually building his maniacal fanbase with his inspiring displays of fighting spirit. Capable of absorbing a tremendous amount of damage, Gorobei always seemed to be able to dig deeper for more reserve strength. After the ZIP JAPAN Heavyweight Championship was vacated due to an injury to Akira Shinjo, Gorobei finally completed his quest for gold by winning a 16 man Tournament for the title. He immediately stated his intent to beat the record title reign of King ZIP, and ultimately achieved his goal. Gorobei's undefeated streak/title reign lasted nearly 3 years, a record that stands to this day. Gorobei retired in 2009, and unfortunately died in an auto wreck in 2011. Gorobei's second attire is a golden singlet that he occasionally wore after his long title reign. Great HAGEThe Great HAGE was a top junior babyface who was with ZIP JAPAN practically since the promotion began. Barely 18 when he debuted as a jobber, his in-ring antics and wild costumes (including colourful hairpieces - he was an early victim of male pattern baldness) quickly made him a fan favourite. HAGE engaged in a long running feud with arch-rival Yoji Shinichi that spanned several years and produced many 5 Star matches involving the Junior Championship. A hugely popular star and multi time ZIP JAPAN Junior Champion, HAGE was forced to retire due to to a chronic back injury in 2014. Great HAGE's second attire is his heel persona Darkness HAGE. Jumbo JinzeiJumbo Jinzei is a giant, ugly beast of a man. The only thing he loves more than eating is flattening his opponents with his belly. Although this former pro sumo wrestler is a huge slob, he can be surprisingly quick and agile for such a big man. He tends to gas out pretty quickly, but he can be devastating in short bursts. If Jinzei builds up a head of steam, get out of the way! King ZIPThe founder of ZIP JAPAN, he wrestled as Mr. ZIP for years as a beloved babyface champion, before eventually transforming into the painted monster heel, King ZIP! King ZIP engaged in some classic, bloody wars over the ZIP JAPAN Heavyweight Championship against opponents like Crusher Kodo and Kintaro. King ZIP's longest title reign was almost 2 years, and was ended by fan favorite Genki Raiga. Nagging injuries forced King ZIP into semi-retirement in 1999, though he continued to run the promotion and make occasional in-ring appearances until his death in 2015. King ZIP's second attire is his babyface Mr. ZIP attire. KintaroThe top heel in ZIP JAPAN for many years during the mid-2000s, Kintaro was a vicious competitor who could defeat his opponents with either brute strength or his sublime grappling skill. A former ZIP JAPAN World Champion, Kintaro was never hesitant to assert his dominance over a match. Having been trained by King ZIP during his monster heel heyday, he was also familiar with many shortcuts in the ring. Kintaro retired in 2008. Kintaro's second attire is from his days as King ZIP's protege. White TrashA former backyard wrestler from Trailer Park, USA, White Trash arrived in ZIP JAPAN in the mid 2000's amid rumors of a secret romantic involvement with Reiko ZIP. That relationship may have soured, but White Trash has continued to maintain his spot on the roster despite having an unenviable losing record. Always something of a spot monkey, advancement into his mid 30's may have slowed Trash slightly, but he still loves to fly around the ring. White Trash recently rekindled his relationship with Reiko ZIP, and retired as an active competitor to take a job as a ZIP JAPAN referee. Yoji ShinichiShinichi was a super star and legit tough guy in the world of pro wrestling: a former 3 time ZIP JAPAN Junior Champion, and past holder of several other titles in different promotions. A stiff and agressive technician in the ring, Shinichi may have slowed down a step towards the end of his career, but his lengthy feud with Great HAGE is the stuff of legend. Shinichi retired in 2013. ZIP StrikebotKing ZIP funded the invention of this monstrosity in the late 1990s. A robot originally intended for use as a sparring partner for King ZIP, ZIP Strikebot critically malfunctioned soon after his creation. Now, any time Strikebot is turned on, he ruthlessly kicks and punches anyone that stands in front of him until they stop moving. Please do not unleash ZIP Strikebot on your edits. He will destroy them. I'm a bad person for releasing this. Results from August 4: ZIP JAPAN Heavyweight Championship Donnie Doogan (c) vs Mr. Suplex - Doogan wins via Doogan Hammer. Mr Suplex was slow to get going in this one. He did eventually find second gear and tossed Doogan around quite a bit, but in the end he felt the power of the Doogan Hammer.
ZIP JAPAN Junior Heavyweight Championship Ichiro Katagiri (c) vs White Trash - Katagiri wins via Reverse Tombstone - This was fun, and Trash got in a couple of good hope spots, including a Canadian Destroyer for a nice 2.9, but eventually Katagiri proved too much for him.
ZIP JAPAN Tag Team Championship Jimmy Nails and Mickey Grinds (c) vs Kenji Sawada and Kenzo Kobayashi - Jimmy Nails CRITICAL'd Kenji Sawada with a Figure 4. It was excellent, Sawada was not ready. (Nails does an "Are you Ready?" taunt before applying the Fig 4)
GRUDGE MATCH - No DQ, No Countout Justin Starr vs ECKO - Justin Starr wins via Ancaonda Vice submission - this was probably MOTN, lots of high flying and dives to the outside, as well as some quality brawling around the arena, even if no weapons got used.
4 Way Elimination Match Wataru Nakajima vs Akira Shinjo vs Asano Kasneshiro vs Mad Bomber - Asano Kaneshiro got knocked out after about 20 mins, can't remember how. The other 3 fought forever before Mad Bomber triple powerbombed Nakajima into oblivion around 55 minutes in. Then with about 2 minutes left in the 60 min time limit, Mad Bomber got the final elimination with a CRITICAL on Akira Shinjo with a Running Powerbomb onto a steel chair. It was pretty sick.
#1 Contender for ZIP JAPAN Heavyweight Championship Takeshi Kiriyama vs Gorobei Jr. - Takeshi Kiriyama wins via Yakuza Bomb - Hard hitting stuff with Gorobei doing his best to absorb Kiriyama's wear down holds while dishing out some beatings of his own. Eventually after Gorobei Jr escaped a 2nd cross armbreaker attempt, Kiriyama kinda just said "fuck it" and dumped Gorobei on his head.
Tag Team Match Tetsuo K and Satoshi Iguchi vs Tora Katsu and Minoru Hoshino - Tetsuo K pinned Minoru Hoshino with some kind of rollup. I personally didn't like the finish, but I guess it happens sometimes in Juniors matches. A good warmup.
So....all three Champions retained their titles, and the babyface with the legacy to live up to failed to become #1 contender. So I guess next show will include a Heavyweight title match featuring Donnie Doogan vs Takeshi Kiriyama (heel vs heel) and a Tag Title match featuring babyface champs against a debuting babyface team lol. And yes, Thunder Fist will probably be featured as well :P

PROMO TIME with Tomi ZIP! *Camera fades in*
*Donnie Doogan is standing in the locker room, wearing his Championship belt and oiling his pectoral muscles with a huge grin on his face. Tomi ZIP enters from the left holding a microphone and approaches him. Tomi speaks in Japanese, but her words are translated into subtitles at the bottom of the screen.*
Tomi: <Ah Doogan-san! Can I have a moment of your time?>
*Doogan's smile grows wider as he towers over Tomi, but he doesn't answer her. There is an awkward pause*
Tomi: <OK! Thanks! You've been ZIP JAPAN's Heavyweight Champion for the last several months and your run of success is showing no signs of slowing down. Next Friday, you'll be defending your title against Takeshi Kiriyama. Do you have any comments for your opponent or the fans of ZIP JAPAN?>
*Doogan stares blankly at Tomi for a moment, before she holds the microphone up in front of him.*
Doogan (grinning like the macho jerk he is): Mmmmm. Little lady, I have no idea what you just said, but you can say it to me all night! Oh yeah!
Tomi (under her breath): Baka.
Doogan (slightly annoyed): Hey! I might not speak Japanese but I know what that means!
*Doogan snatches the microphone from Tomi and the camera begins to zoom in on him slowly as he speaks.*
Doogan: So, Kiriyama...you're next in line, are you? I'll come back to you in a second. First, I got something to say to that chump Mr. Suplex. So I guess you brought your "A" game against me last week, huh? How'd that work out for you? I smashed your puny head right into the mat, dude! Must suck to be you, I saw the card for the next show, and I'm in the main event again, because I'm...the champion. (He points emphatically at his belt) And where are you, Mr. Suplex? Oh that's right, you're jerking the curtain where you belong! Good luck against the Mad Bomber, loser! Haw Haw!
*Doogan takes a moment to compose himself before turning on his serious face. By this point the camera has zoomed in so that the screen is filled by Doogan's bulging torso.*
Doogan: Kiriyama. (He fakes a scared voice) Oh, no! The big, bad, scary Yakuza is coming to get me! (scoffs) I've had breakfasts bigger than you, little man. You think you're the one who's got the goods to stop me? Look, I've fought you before, I know what you do. You try and snap people's arms off. (He flexes his biceps for the camera) Well how you gonna snap these, buddy? Look at those veins pop! You try any fancy armlock garbage on me and I'll pound you into orbit!
*Doogan gets close to the camera lens. All you can see is his screaming face*
Doogan: Kiriyama, here's how it's gonna go down! You'll show up next week full of hopes and dreams. You'll walk down the aisle to my ring, fully believing that you're capable of beating me. You'll do your best, but in the end you'll realize how wrong you were, and you'll get beaten down by the Doogan Hammer, just like everyone else! If you don't believe me, go ask Mr. Suplex...he felt it last week, and next week, Kiriyama, it's your turn to FEEL...THE...POWER!
*Doogan flexes one last time and then disappears from view. He can be heard storming out of the locker room as the camera pans over to Tomi, who is standing there somewhat bewildered. She shrugs. Camera fades out*

ZIP JAPAN Press Conference! (stuff inside <> is spoken in Japanese and subtitled) *camera opens with a wide shot of Reiko ZIP, standing at a wooden podium on a stage in front a large ZIP JAPAN banner. Dozens of wrestling fans and journalists are in attendance*
Reiko (clearing her throat) <Ahem. Thank you all for coming today. ZIP JAPAN will be broadcasting a live show this Friday, August 18th, a show that is important for several reasons. Not only will every ZIP JAPAN title be on the line, but the card also features a pair of very special talents. Fan favorite Daisuke Shimura will be returning to the ring after a long injury lay-off, and he'll be facing a brand new member of the roster, Thunder Fist. At this time I'd like to introduce these two men to you, and after they've each had a chance to comment we will open the floor for questions.>
*a small murmur of excitement can be heard spreading through the audience*
Reiko: <First, from Yokohama, please welcome him back to ZIP JAPAN: "Dangerous" Daisuke Shimura!>
*Shimura's entrance music begins blasting over the loudspeaker and the room erupts as Shimura emerges from behind a curtain. He's looking sharp in a grey suit and blue tie. He's smiling broadly and waving to the crowd as he steps up to the podium. He shakes Reiko's hand enthusiastically and then motions for the crowd to quiet down as his music stops*
Shiumra: <Thank you! Thanks everyone! Thank you Reiko-san! (he pumps his fists) It's fantastic to be back!>
*more applause, which quickly stops as Shimura begins to speak. He has a deep voice and speaks with a slow, deliberate cadence*
Shimura: <The last six months have been the longest months of my life. It's been a long and often painful road to rehab my thigh injury, but this reception makes me feel as though it was all worth it. I'm in the best shape I've been in more than 10 years, and I'm ready to reclaim my place in ZIP JAPAN! My return match will be this Friday, and I can't wait to remind all the fans just how dangerous I can be.> (he raises both hands above his head) Rock and Roll!
*Shimura takes a moment to bask in the renewed applause, then steps aside and stands by a second microphone to the left of the podium. Reiko steps up to the podium again*
Reiko: <Next, I'd like to unveil ZIP JAPAN's most recent talent signing, an incredible specimen from Botswana by way of LLAMMA Pro Wrestling, please welcome "The African Assassin" Thunder Fist!>
*there is a very subdued smattering of applause before Thunder Fist bursts from behind the curtain. He's dressed in his full ring gear, including his ghastly fanged mask. His appearance causes the applause to be suddenly replaced by an audible collective gasp. Thunder Fist tromps heavily towards the podium and stands behind it, planting a huge hand on either side of it. He glares out into the audience like a butcher looking at a herd of cattle*
Thunder Fist: (voice muffled from behind his mask) FISSSSSSSSST.
*Thunder Fist stares at the silent audience for a few seconds, then steps to the right of the podium and stands behind a third microphone*
Reiko: <Ah, OK...let's have some questions from the press. (she indicates a man in the crowd) Go ahead.>
Journalist #1: <My question is for Shimura. While you've been away, Donnie Doogan has been claiming that he "put you on the shelf" and that you would never appear in a ZIP JAPAN ring again. Any comment?>
Shimura: (smirking) <Well, it is true that I tore my quadriceps during a ZIP JAPAN Heavyweight Championship match against Donnie Doogan, but I think it's pretty obvious that he's exaggerating. Look back at the footage, you can clearly see the moment I suffered the injury. I delvered an Iconoclasm from the top rope, and Doogan landed on my leg, it's not as if he injured me intentionally. As for never appearing in ZIP JAPAN again? (he smiles) That's just not true. I'm back and I'm ready. He can brag all he wants...Donnie Doogan is still the Champion after all, but I'm confident I'll get a chance to settle things with him before long.>
Jounalist #2 <Shimura-san, any thoughts on facing the newcomer Thunder Fist for your return match? How much do you know about your opponent?>
Shimura: <Not much, honestly. I've seen a couple of grainy tapes of him beating up monkeys and crackheads, but I have no idea where they came from. I know he's a big, strong fellow though....just look at him (Shimura points towards Thunder Fist) That guy is huge! Look at his arms! (Thunder Fist continues to glare at the audience, seemingly ignoring Shimura's comments) But pro wrestling isn't just about power...Like I said, I'm in great shape, I know I'll be able to shake off the ring rust and give Thunder Fist the fight of his life. I'm no skinny crackhead, and I won't be pushed around. Come this Friday, we'll see who is the best wrestler.>
Journalist #3: <Um, I have a question for Thunder Fist. You're a relative unknown, and you'll be facing a former ZIP JAPAN Heavyweight Champion in your first match for the promotion. What do you think your chances are on Friday?>
*Thunder Fist doesn't move or respond, he just stands there breathing heavily. After a moment, Reiko ZIP gently nudges his shoulder and nods towards the microphone in front of him. He suddenly grabs the mic and grips it tightly in his massive fist*
Thunder Fist: FISSSSSSSSSSSSSST!
*The air is split by a screech of feedback as Thunder Fist squeezes and the microphone in his hand is crushed. Thunder Fist drops it to the ground and screams at the audience*
Thunder Fist: FIST! FIIIISSSSSSSSST!
*Reiko yelps and jumps back as Thunder Fist swings, and half of the podium explodes in a shower of splinters and sawdust. People in the crowd scream and jump out of their seats*
Thunder Fist: FIST! FIST! FIST!
*Thunder Fist begins destroying the stage using his bare hands, smashing tables and chairs with reckless abandon, screaming FIST over and over. Reiko ZIP and Shimura make a hasty exit as the screams from the crowd continue. There is a rush of people making for the exits as Thunder Fist leaps from the demolished stage and darts towards the hard camera at the rear of the room. He stares down the camera lens for a moment*
Thunder Fist: FIST!
*Thunder Fist punches the camera lens and the screen goes blank*

PROMO TIME with Tomi ZIP! *camera fades in on Tomi ZIP standing in a gym, microphone in hand. A steady thumping sound can be heard in the background*
Tomi: (smiling brightly and waving at the camera) <Hello fans! Tomi ZIP reporting, and I'm here at the ZIP JAPAN training facility to see if I can get a word with the #1 contender for the ZIP JAPAN Junior Championship, Justin Starr. (she points off camera) That's him over there!>
*camera pans to the right to reveal Starr with his back to the camera, wearing shorts and a tank top, kicking a heavy bag repeatedly*
Tomi: <Justin-san!>
*Starr stops his workout, and turns towards Tomi*
Starr: (smiling) <Oh, hello Tomi!>
Tomi: <Can we talk for a few minutes?>
Starr: (begins toweling off and walks towards Tomi) <Of course.>
Tomi: <Great! Last week you defeated your rival ECKO in a no DQ, no count-out Grudge match. In your eyes, is this the definitive victory in your long running feud?>
Starr: (he speaks with an obvious Southern American accent, but his Japanese is otherwise excellent) <I'd like to think so, but I know better. ECKO and I have never seen eye to eye. I've beaten him a bunch of times, and he's beaten me a bunch of times. He's been a constant thorn in my side throughout my ZIP JAPAN career, and I doubt we'll ever truly resolve things between us. For now, I'm just happy to get another decisive win.>
Tomi: <As a result of your victory, Reiko has booked you in a ZIP JAPAN Junior Heavyweight Championship match against current champ Ichiro Katagiri.>
Starr: <Yeah, tomorrow night, I can't wait.>
Tomi: <Eager to challenge for the title again?>
Starr: <Challenge? I'm eager to win it. You know, I did some research Tomi...I've been in ZIP JAPAN for 12 years now, and by my calculations, I've held the Junior Heavyweight Championship for just over 7 of those years. As far as I'm concerned, that title belt is mine, and Katagiri is just the latest guy keeping it warm for me.>
Tomi: <Some strong words there. I tried to get a comment from Ichiro Katagiri earlier today regarding your August 18th match, and all he had to say was "Starr is a dead man". Any response for the champion?>
Starr: (laughs) <He said that, did he? (faces camera) Well let me say this to you, Katagiri: You didn't win the Junior Heavyweight Championship from me, and you haven't defended the title against me since you've had it. I know you're a tough guy and a bully who brutalizes his opponents, but the simple fact is that I've carved out a reputation for myself as the man who makes his living by beating guys like you. I'm better than you in the air, I'm better than you on the ground and I know you're a dangerous stand up striker, but I reckon I'm better than you at that too. You say I'm a dead man? Wrong...I'm the Fort Worth Flyboy! I'm the Texan Terminator! I'm the Go-Go Gaijin! (he points to his own chest) I AM Justin Starr...and tomorrow night Katagiri, I'm putting your title reign in the ground.>
Tomi: (bowing) <Thanks very much for your time.>
Starr: <My pleasure, Tomi-san.> (he bows slightly, then turns and resumes kicking the heavy bag)
Tomi: (to camera) <This is Tomi ZIP, signing off!>
*Tomi smiles and flashes a peace sign, and the camera fades*

Results from 8/18 stream: Thoughts: *Holy shit, 7 x 100% ratings out of 8 matches. I was hoping for solid results but this blew expectations out of the water. *Even the odd rating out match was good. Jinzei is an edit that's meant to win a squash or gas out and lose. Mission accomplished. *The only babyface winners all night were Yoshida/Matsuda and that match had two babyface teams. The heels won every other match. Are my heels too good? lol *Killer debut for Thunder Fist. He leapfrogged his way up the ladder with his excellent performance tonight. *I was legit stunned when Justin Starr lost to Ichiro Katagiri. Completely unexpected result, but a great match with a great finish. *New tag champs! Won't lie, I was kinda hoping for this result. I really only have a few tag teams in ZIP JAPAN, and Nails/Grinds have worked with both heel teams a ton of times. Some fresh matches on the horizon with Yoshida/Matsuda as the title holders. *Kiriyama's focused offense was the star of the show. He worked Doogan's arms like a fiend, both to lessen the impact of the Doogan Hammer, and to set up for his Cross Armbreaker special. As soon as he slapped it on Doogan's huge arm, I knew it would be an instant tap out. New ZIP JAPAN Heavyweight Champion!

Huge ZIP JAPAN Announcement! *camera fades in on Reiko ZIP, sitting in a plush chair in King ZIP's palatial mansion. On a small table in front of her is a dusty cardboard box*
Reiko: <Hello, fans! I'm sitting in the home of my father, ZIP JAPAN founder King ZIP, to announce a fantastic discovery. As you are likely aware, King ZIP passed away in late 2015...and it has taken me and my sisters quite a long time to properly sort and catalog the vast quantity of wrestling memorabilia that my father amassed during his career. During a recent search through one of his vaults, Tomi discovered this box, containing a bunch of unmarked video tapes.>
*Reiko indicates the box in front of her and pulls a handful of tapes from it to display on the table*
Reiko: <We were eventually able to locate a working VCR, and after watching a few of the tapes, we realized what we had on our hands. These videos are the most complete history of ZIP JAPAN events known to exist. The fabled tape library that was long thought lost forever has been recovered! (she gives a satisfied smile) With that being said, I am pleased to announce that the next ZIP JAPAN live stream on September 1st, 2017 will be a chronological trip into the past, featuring several classic matches from ZIP JAPAN's early years and mid 2000's heyday.>
*Reiko stands and walks to the left of the screen. The camera pans with her and reveals a large placard on an easel, which lists the card for the event. Reiko stands next to the easel as she runs down the card*
Reiko: <First, the earliest complete match in the collection, a classic encounter from ZIP JAPAN's formative years: Mr. ZIP vs Crusher Kodo. This match took place in 1991, in an era when King ZIP was still a facepaint-free babyface known as Mr. ZIP and Crusher Kodo was one of the toughest heels in the business.
The second match is from 1995, shortly after the formation of ZIP JAPAN's Junior Heavyweight division. It features Great HAGE vs Yoji Shinichi in their first ever televised match against each other. This is the match that ignited one of the longest running feuds in the history of the ZIP JAPAN Junior division.
Third is the earliest complete match featuring suplex legend Genki Raiga. This nasty encounter vs a relatively young Kintaro was from a live event in 2001.
The next match features the two longest reigning Heavyweight champs in the history of ZIP JAPAN, King ZIP and Gorobei. Heel King ZIP's longest reign was nearly two years, and fan favorite Gorobei surpassed that mark wih a reign of close to three years during the 2000s. This match took place in late 2004, just before the legendary Gorobei began his lengthy undefeated run. This is also one of the earliest matches that I refereed for the promotion.
Next up is a Juniors match featuring the insane luchador Captain Insano Jr. vs White Trash filmed in early 2006. This was one of White Trash's first matches in ZIP JAPAN, and he was booked against one of the toughest veterans in the company. I think King ZIP was angry with me, and took it out on White Trash, who was my boyfriend at the time. Whatever the reasons behind King ZIP's booking, this encounter was a memorable one.
After Crusher Kodo turned babyface, he formed a short lived, but successful and fondly remembered tag team with Wataru Nakajima. The next match is one of their early tag encounters, against a makeshift team of Genki Raiga and his young protege Mr. Suplex. This match took place in 2007.
Two of the biggest stars during ZIP JAPAN's most successful era were Kintaro and Gorobei. When Kintaro announced his retirement in 2008, it only made sense that his final match should be against his fiercest rival Gorobei. A classic matchup to cap off Kintaro's ZIP JAPAN career.
2014 was a sad year for fans of the ZIP JAPAN Junior division as two of its biggest stars retired. Captain Insano Jr and Great HAGE were both winding down their careers but pulled off one last classic for fans to remember them by. HAGE worked this match using his Darkness HAGE heel persona, but his fans cheered him anyways. Though it was not booked as a retirement match, this ended up being the final ZIP JAPAN match for both men.>
*camera zooms on Reiko as she finishes summarizing the card*
Reiko: <We hope you will enjoy the 8 vintage matches Tomi, Suki and I have selected from our tape library. It will be an excellent trip down memory lane for fans of ZIP JAPAN old and new, we hope to see you all at the broadcast on September 1st, starting at 9PM EST. Thank you.>
*Reiko bows and the camera fades*

Here are today's (aug 29) ZIP JAPAN results: Preshow: (Lady V and Zealot's edits) This clown is so fucking disturbing. I can't believe Rousseau pulled this off. (Fullbug and Dawnbreaker09's edits) A fun juniors style match with guys flipping all over the place. (Wonderland and Blehschmidt's edits) Happiness vs Misery lol. Misery put up a good fight in this one but the Cheshire Cat wiped away his smile with a sneaky rollup. Main card: Mr Suplex finally gets his first win on FPW Streams. I was so stoked that i didn't even care about the crappy rating lol. Genki Raiga would be proud. Super fast paced juniors action. Two matches, two Tiger suplex finishes lol These two idiots started a strike battle on the arena floor with the ringout count at 14. Thunder Fist won the strike battle and barely made it back into the ring in time...this could easily have been a double countout, but truth be told, Gorobei Jr had no hope in this match, Thunder Fist was beating the hell out of him for most of it. Shinjo eliminated Jinzei, then Shimura actually got a rare submission from Shinjo (he doesn't tap very often). Once Shinjo was out Mad Bomber wasted no time in powerbombing Shimura out of his boots for the win. Man, these two guys both got busted open in the first minute of the match and it was a total bloodbath. Jimmy did his best to keep the big man off his feet, but Kaneshiro just overpowered him. Two Gansos and a big belly to belly and it was over. Look at the blood though! I had to swap out the ring mats after this one. This was the day of the Tiger Suplex, apparently. Hoshino looked great against a very dangerous opponent. Great tag team action, and I loved the finish. Yoshida superplexed Kobayashi from the corner where Sawada was standing, Sawada never interfered or tried to break up the pin. He just stood on the apron watching Kobayashi get pinned. What a heel. Main event was another bloodbath with Doogan busted open on the very first strike of the match lol. Nakajima got color shortly after and these two went to town on each other. They brawled all over and Nakajima looked like he might pull it off, but then he felt the power of the Doogan Hammer. Lights out. Two mats indelibly blood stained lol Thanks for reading and hope to see lots of folks for the Retro TimeWarp stream this Friday night!

ZIP JAPAN Announcement! *camera fades in on Reiko ZIP, sitting at the large desk in her office.*
Reiko: <Hello ZIP JAPAN fans! Reiko ZIP here, and I'm addressing you today in order to deliver an exciting announcement regarding the ZIP JAPAN Junior Heavyweight Division. I am very pleased to announce the signing of - >
*there is a crash as the office door flies open and Ichiro Katagiri angrily storms in. He's wearing a black vest and dress shirt, with a pink tie to match the highlights in his hair. The ZIP JAPAN Junior Heavyweight Title is draped over his left shoulder*
Katagiri: <Reiko, what the hell?>
*Reiko is startled by the sudden intrusion but quickly regains her composure, folding her arms and leaning back in her chair with a calm expression on her face*
Katagiri: (incredulous) <You had a show and I wasn't even on the card?>
Reiko: <I assume you're referring to the August 29th stream?>
Katagiri: (agitated) <Of course I am! How can you have a ZIP JAPAN show without the greatest champion in the company? I'm getting pretty sick of this crap, you know.>
*Reiko rolls her eyes heavily but doesn't speak, as though she's heard this litany of complaints before*
Katagiri: <I'm being serious, Reiko. I've been the ZIP JAPAN Junior Heavyweight Champ for almost 6 months now. I've beaten everyone you've got. And I know you were keeping Justin Starr as an ace up your sleeve, but now I've proven that I'm better than him and everyone else in this promotion.>
Reiko: <And?>
Katagiri: <And you need to get me some decent competition! If you can't provide me with an acceptable challenger for my title, I'm outta here. Do you want me showing up in SWA or Burning Spirit carrying a ZIP JAPAN belt? I don't think so. So find me someone worthy of lacing up my boots or I'll be angry....and you won't like that.>
Reiko: (trying to be diplomatic) <Well as a matter of fact, Katagiri, you just interrupted me. (she points at the camera, and Katagiri notices it for the first time) I was just about to ->
Katagiri: (cutting Reiko off) <Yeah, yeah. You were about to announce the signing of a gaggle of rookies and has-beens to fill out your anemic Juniors Division. I'm not impressed. I want to face the world's greatest juniors!>
*Katagiri turns to face the camera*
Katagiri: <Hey! Anyone listening out there? (he holds up his belt) I'm the best junior heavyweight in the world, Ichiro Katagiri! I'm issuing an open challenge to any juniors who think they're good enough to step into my ring. Come face me if you dare, I'll put my title on the line and crush your dreams...and your faces! Come on and ->
*Katagiri stops as Reiko suddenly stands up and faces him down. They are nose to nose*
Reiko: (angry) <One: don't ever burst into my office or speak to me in this tone again! Next time, champion or not, you're out of ZIP JAPAN for good.>
*Katagiri is angry and bristling at being talked back to, but he just stands there nose to nose with Reiko, staring back at her as she continues*
Reiko: <Two: the new ZIP JAPAN recruits are neither rookies nor has-beens, which you would have known if you hadn't barged in here shouting like a lunatic. Three: you want the toughest competition? Don't you worry Katagiri, I will find you an opponent for your next Junior Title defense...someone you've never faced before, let alone defeated, OK? Now... (she points to the door) Out.>
*Katagiri continues to stare angrily at Reiko for a moment. She doesn't back down and he suddenly adopts a sneering, sarcastic smile*
Katagiri: <Well, that's all I wanted Reiko....was that so hard?>
*Reiko doesn't respond, she just continues pointing at the door. Katagiri turns and stomps out of Reiko's office. She takes a split second to collect herself before bowing slightly to the camera*
Reiko: <Apologies for the intrusion.>
*Reiko re-seats herself at her desk*
Reiko: <As I was saying before being so rudely interrupted...ZIP JAPAN is pleased to announce the signing of four new wrestlers for the Junior Heavyweight Division. First is a man that will be familiar to ZIP JAPAN fans, a man who wrestled for my father several years ago, now making his return to ZIP JAPAN after a lengthy and lucrative stint in Mexico, he's a battle hardened veteran: Super Scorpio! Next up is a trio of brand new faces. First, a hot indy prospect with several years of experience...he's been scouted by all the major promotions but only I was able to secure a contract for him: "Wild Thing" Yutaro Ichikawa! Next, the violent masked man known for his brief but successful runs in both All Japan and Pro Wrestling NOAH: Shuji Tsukamoto! And finally, a man who was trained by our own ZIP JAPAN legend, Great HAGE, he's a high flyer hybrid for the new generation: Saburo Hamada! All four of these competitors will be appearing on September 15th at the next ZIP JAPAN live event, and we will be releasing more information on these roster additions as Sept 15th approaches.>
*Reiko pauses for a moment and takes a deep breath*
Reiko: <And as for Ichiro Katagiri and his "open challenge", I'll have another announcement regarding that situation soon. Watch this space in the coming days. In the meantime, I thank you for your attention and hope to see you all on September 1st at 9pm EST for the ZIP JAPAN Legends TimeWarp show! Until then...>
*Reiko bows again and the camera fades out*

Sept 1 ZIP JAPAN TimeWarp Results: Mr ZIP vs Crusher Kodo - Mr ZIP wins via submission (Torture Rack) after 18:17 - 100% rating Bloody and violent stuff, two old school bruisers battling it out. Hilariously, after Kodo lost, he put Mr. ZIP in a post match small package lol. Great HAGE vs Yoji Shinichi - Great HAGE wins via pinfall (Avalanche Fisherman Buster) after 17:44 - 88% rating Not sure what was up with the low rating, the match was great (could've used a couple more dives tho). Stellar finish too, love when guys get pins off their big special corner grapples. Genki Raiga vs Kintaro - Kintaro wins via KO (Superman Kinniku Buster) after 12:41 - 76% rating Well the rating system seems to hate on KO finishes, and this match was really just heating up when it ended suddenly...but man. Just look at it! Soooo good. Gorobei vs King ZIP - Gorobei wins via pinfall (elbow strike?) after 15:40 - 91% rating A pretty good match but a really weird ending. King ZIP went for a grapple and Gorobei reversed it with an elbow strike, and somehow got the pin off it. Can't understand how King ZIP didn't kick out TBH. Gorobei's ground pins are all at 0% for Critical dmg so King ZIP couldn't have been THAT hurt. *shrugs* Captain Insano Jr vs White Trash - White Trash wins via pinfall (Canadian Destroyer) after 15:06 - 90% rating Killer action in this match, loadsa junior flippys. And the ending was sublime...White Trash hit back to back reverse frankensteiners, then Insano hit back to back counter Spanish Flys, before White Trash put him away with the flip piledriver. A thing of beauty. Prob MOTN if not for Gorobei vs Kintaro totally outclassing them. Mr Suplex/Genki Raiga vs Crusher Kodo/Wataru Nakajima - Suplex/Raiga win via countout after 21:56 - 85% rating Not terrible, but a little one sided for my tastes. Suplex/Raiga were pretty dominant, and once Kodo got caught outside the ring in the suplexers corner, it was all over. Raiga just cut Kodo off from re-entering the ring and Raiga suplexed him on the floor. Game over. Kintaro vs Gorobei - Gorobei wins via pinfall (Original Spin Cycle) after 31:57 - 100% rating MOTN no question right here. Two absolute beasts of edits threw everything at each other for over 30 minutes. Kintaro was busted open early and Gorobei got color near the end too. Bloodbath. They both kicked out of multiple finishers and specials. Gorobei finally hit the final Spin Cycle (Blazing Tornado) and actually dragged Kintaro away from the ropes to get the pinfall. Loved it. If you only watch one match from this show on the YouTube link, watch this one. Captain Insano Jr vs Darkness HAGE - Darkness HAGE wins via pinfall (FFF) after 19:44 - 96% rating More really good juniors action with a killer finish sequence. Insano hit a run up the turnbuckle crossbody for 2, then hit an Insano Buster but was too tired to roll over and pin HAGE. Insano put HAGE on the mat with a double wrist suplex and followed up with a flip senton. HAGE no sells, gets up and hit the big facebuster out of nowhere for the finish. A great night of sims, including all the fun stuff before and after the ZIP JAPAN show. Thanks again to everyone who attended any or all of my ridiculously long streaming session today. (8.5 hours of straight simming goodness) :smoking: The ZIP JAPAN Legend edits are now available on Steam Workshop, collection link in my sig.

Important Announcement! *camera fades in on Reiko ZIP seated at her desk again. A large black curtain hangs behind her*
Reiko: <Hello ZIP JAPAN fans! As some of you may have seen, ZIP JAPAN Junior Heavyweight Champion Ichiro Katagiri recently issued an open challenge for any Junior Heavyweight in the world to wrestle him for his title. Apparently the talent already part of ZIP JAPAN's roster isn't providing enough competition for our champion and he wants to test himself against a new challenger. If that's what Katagiri wants, this is what Katagiri is going to get.>
*Reiko yanks aside the curtain to reveal a large banner with a fancy logo which reads "ZIP JAPAN Super Z Cup"*
Reiko: <I am pleased to annouce that Katagiri's next title challenger will be determined by a 16 man, single elimination tournament, the Super Z Cup! Four of the competitors will be chosen from the current roster of ZIP JAPAN, with 12 slots open to anyone who is willing and able to step up to the challenge. So to all you established and aspiring junior stars out there...I'm looking for a few good men. Send me your DVDs, your tapes, send me YouTube links if you have to. Let me see you in action and if I determine that you're of the caliber required, I'll offer you a spot in the Super Z Cup.>
*Reiko pauses and a smile spreads across her face*
Reiko: <The first round of matches will take place on Friday September 29th starting at 9pm EST, with the remaining matches to be held on October 13th. The winner of the tournament will become the #1 Contender to Ichiro Katagiri's Junior Heavyweight Title, and will face the champion on October 27th. I'm looking forward to the selection process and hope to begin receiving submissions soon. The final 16 entrants for the Super Z Cup will be announced shortly after the September 15th show. In the interim, Ichiro Katagiri has been placed on suspension. He will not be defending his title or appearing on any ZIP JAPAN cards until October 27th. I'd like to extend my thanks to Whitfield James of TEW for his offer of a challenger for Katagiri, which led to the concept behind this tournament. Thank you for your time.>

ZIP JAPAN Announcement! *camera fades in on Reiko seated at her desk in her now-familiar office setting*
Reiko: <Greetings, ZIP JAPAN fans! I have two important announcements to make today, one concerning the upcoming Super Z Cup, and one concerning the card for the Sept 15th ZIP JAPAN stream. First things first, the Super Z Cup.>
*Reiko smiles enthusiastically*
Reiko: <I am overjoyed with the quality and quantity of submissions received for the Super Z Cup. America, Japan, Mexico, Germany and many other great nations will be represented, by an extremely impressive array of talent. I'd like to declare that I will not be taking any further submissions at this time. The chosen participants will take part in qualifying matches on September 22, with the winners moving on to the first round of the Super Z Cup tournament on September 29. The pairings for the qualifying matches will be drawn at random and announced following the September 15th stream. Which brings me to my second announcement.>

Reiko: <First, coming off his recent win against Demon Otsu, Mr Suplex will face the terrifying bulk of Jumbo Jinzei.
Second is the returning junior Super Scorpio, set to square off against The Firebrand Minoru Hoshino.
The third match is a 4-way Elimination Battle Royal featuring Mickey Grinds, Kenji Sawada, Wataru Nakajima and Gorobei Jr.
Next, the official ZIP JAPAN debut of battle scarred junior Shuji Tsukamoto, taking on the veteran Tora Katsu.
Fan Favorite Daisuke Shimura will be in action against the red painted menace, Demon Otsu.
Two new faces to the ZIP JAPAN junior division, Saburo Hamada and Yutaro Ichikawa will join forces to wrestle the dangerous team of ECKO and Tetsuo K.
In the first of three big main event matches, The African Assassin Thunder Fist will face ZIP Strikebot. Long time fans of ZIP JAPAN may remember the horrible mistake that was ZIP Strikebot, a sparring robot created by King ZIP many years ago. Thunder Fist told my sisters and I that he wanted to face the best striker ZIP JAPAN had to offer, and Tomi suggested we bring ZIP Strikebot out of storage. I was vehemently against the idea, but I got outvoted when Suki sided with Tomi (Reiko seems a little miffed about this). Against my better judgement I've agreed to book the match.
The second main event features champion vs champions in a non-title match. Current ZIP JAPAN Heavyweight Champion Takeshi Kiriyama will team with Asano Kaneshiro to face the current ZIP JAPAN Tag Team Champions Jin Matsuda and Maki Yoshida.
And finally, the last match of the evening will be a match to determine the #1 contender to Takeshi Kiryama's ZIP JAPAN Heavyweight Championship. Following a recent string of dominant performances, Mad Bomber will wrestle the top babyface challenger Akira Shinjo, with the winner to face Kiriyama in the near future.>

Reiko: <One final announcement. Given the increase in match workload due to the upcoming Super Z Cup event, Suki ZIP will be returning to the ZIP JAPAN ring as a referee to assist me starting with the September 15th event. We hope to see you all at the live stream. Thank you for your time.>
