ZIP JAPAN Announcement! *camera fades in on Reiko ZIP, seated at her large desk in her office*
Reiko: <Hello ZIP JAPAN fans! I'm here today to announce the card for the ZIP JAPAN's next event, Wrestling with Destiny, which will be held Decem->
*Reiko is interrupted by the sound of her office door flying open and Ichiro Katagiri, former ZIP JAPAN Junior Heavyweight Champion, blustering in*
Katagiri: <Damn it, Reiko!>
*Reiko looks up and lets out a big theatrical sigh*
Katagiri: <Before you go announcing any ridiculous matches, know that I am officially invoking my rematch clause! It was totally unfair of you to force me into defending my title in a three way elimination match, and I demand that you immediately schedule me for a shot one on one against that charlatan gaijin Justin Starr!>
*Reiko is clearly unimpressed*
Reiko: <How many years have you been wrestling in ZIP JAPAN Katagiri-san?>
Katagiri: (slightly unsure of where this is going) <Um, almost 12 years now.>
Reiko: <Exactly. So you have absolutely no excuse for not knowing that ZIP JAPAN does not have any such thing. There is no guaranteed rematch clause for any title matches.>
Katagiri: <But->
Reiko: <No buts! In fact, not only should you already know this, I remember for a fact that I explained this to you once before....the last time you held the Junior Heavyweight Championship and lost it.>
Katagiri: (slightly deflated) <Well, yeah, but->
Reiko: <No buts, I said! I will give Title opportunities to competitors who I feel are deserving, based on both their performances in the ring and their behavior ouside of it...and I must say Katagiri-san, your behavior is deplorable.>
*Katagiri clearly wants to interject but is biting his tongue*
Reiko: <Not to mention the fact that I've also told you before about barging into my office. So here's what's going to happen: You have been moved to the bottom of the list. You will go back to wrestling in preliminary matches against the young lions, and IF you can string together some victories and IF you can maintain some semblance of civilized behavior, then and only then, I MIGHT consider you worthy of getting a sniff at the Junior Heavyweight Title again. Are we clear?>
Katagiri: (seething) <Fine.>
Reiko: (angrily) <I beg your pardon?>
*Katagiri hesistates for a moment, before bowing formally, his face reddened with anger and humiliation*
Katagiri: <I understand, Reiko-sama.>
Reiko: <Better. Now, I believe you know the routine?>
*Katagiri looks confused for a moment, and Reiko points casually to the door. Katagiri's shoulders slump, and he turns on his heel and walks out of Reiko's office. Reiko takes a moment to compose herself, then returns to her announcement*
Reiko: <ZIP JAPAN's next event, Wrestling with Destiny, will be held Friday December 15th at 9pm EST. I believe the card that I've planned will produce one of ZIP JAPAN's best shows to date.>
*a graphic appears on the screen detailing the card as Reiko reads out the matches*
Reiko: <Due to that little outburst, I'm adding the following match to the card: Ichiro Katagiri will open the show in a singles match against Yutaro Ichikawa. Jimmy Nails and Mickey Grinds will square off against Kenji Sawada and Kenzo Kobayashi. The Patriarch Wataru Nakajima will go one on one with Demon Otsu, and Super Z Cup winner Saburo Hamada will face the always dangerous ECKO. The final match of the undercard will feature Akira Shinjo vs Donnie Doogan.>
Reiko: <As usual, Wrestling with Destiny will also feature a classic match from the ZIP JAPAN archive. We will be showcasing a bout from 2009 in which the legendary Gorobei faced the Incredible Bulk Jumbo Jinzei. Next, the new ZIP JAPAN Junior Heavyweight Champion Justin Starr will join forces with White Trash for a tag team match against Tetsuo K and Satoshi Iguchi, who is currently on a hot streak. The last match before the main events will see the mysterious and deadly Takeshi Kiriyama wrestle a man who the fans of ZIP JAPAN have been supporting more and more since his debut match, Thunder Fist.>
Reiko: The first of three big main event matches will be a 4 man elimination Battle Royal featuring Maki Yoshida, Daisuke Shimura, Asano Kaneshiro and the Living Nightmare himself: Mad Bomber. Next is a singles match to determine the #1 contender for the ZIP JAPAN Junior Heavyweight Championship...both Shuji Tsukamoto and Tora Katsu have been in incredible form recently, and both are more than deserving of this opportunity. Finally, the ZIP JAPAN Heavyweight Championship will be on the line, as fan favorite and champion Jin Matsuda defends against GORO, formerly Gorobei Jr, who has turned his back on the fans of ZIP JAPAN and the legacy of his father.>
Reiko: <There you have it, fans, ZIP JAPAN Wrestling with Destiny. Join us on December 15th at 9pm EST! See you there!>
*Reiko bows and the camera fades*

ZIP JAPAN Wrestling with Destiny Results from Dec 15 - Ichiro Katagiri vs Yutaro Ichikawa Ichikawa wins with Northern Lights Suplex at 12:43 - 93% rating How the mighty have fallen. In the span of two weeks, Katagiri went from dominant champion on a year long undefeated streak to doing the job in curtain jerk matches on ZIP JAPAN shows. Humbling and humiliating result for the former champ, but great for Ichikawa. He will move up, and Katagiri will remain in the opening slot for the time being. - Jimmy Nails/Mickey Grinds vs Kenji Sawada/Kenzo Kobayashi A pretty hard fought match from both teams, but man, Mickey Grinds took a lot of punishment. He took two Evil Clutch Drivers and two Johnny Spikes from Kenji Sawada. He'll have a sore head/neck, but he'll also be pretty annoyed at Jimmy Nails for tagging him in, and then not making the save at the end. - Wataru Nakajma vs Demon Otsu Kind of a bummer result, Nakajima has looked so strong the last couple of outings. He did well here, getting in plenty of offense, and no selling a couple of Otsu's big moves, but very few survive Otsu's Demon Fire Bomb. The hip swivel dance at the end was perfect. - Saburo Hamada vs ECKO Just a fantastic juniors match, and early shout for MOTN. Lots of dives and crisp mat wrestling in this one. ECKO's rana to the outside followed by a Tombstone on the floor was nasty...Hamada tried for the comeback, hit the Perfect Driver, but couldn't capitalize, and ECKO's leg trip -> Cross STF combo was too much. Solid win for the veteran. - Akira Shinjo vs Donnie Doogan Awesome stuff for the undercard main event, two former heavyweight champions showing they both still have tons of hunger and fight left in them. Two big guys throwing it all out there, trading big moves and 2.9s. Great match and another step towards the title picture for Doogan. Archive match from 2009 - Gorobei vs Jumbo Jinzei Just wow. Jinzei has never been so methodical. He absorbed lots of damage, but got in his own offense an took every opportunity to rest and breathe, overcoming his obvious conditioning disadvantage beautifully. He also kicked out of Gorobei's Blazing Tornado finish at a 2 count after more than 20 minutes of action. Gorobei also belly to belly suplexed Jinzei over the top rope. Unreal that he managed to come back and win. This was a really good match, probably the best of Jinzei's career lol. - Justin Starr/White Trash vs Tetsuo K/Satoshi Iguchi Excellent outing from all 4 wrestlers, and Iguchi didn't look out of place at all mixing it up with the more "elite" juniors in the promotion. Unsurprisingly, the star of the show was Justin Starr, ZIP JAPAN Junior Heavyweight champ, who put on a wrestling clinic. The Arm slam -> Anaconda Vice combo picks up another victory. - Takeshi Kiriyama vs Thunder Fist Thunder Fist is back to his dominant ways. He pretty much owned Kiriyama in this one, battering him with giant fists left and right. Kiriyama attempted some armwork that went nowhere, got busted open early and kinda panicked. Even two Yakuza bombs had no effect on Fist, who picked his spot and knocked Kiriyama out cold. Thunder Fist vs Donnie Doogan for the first crack at GORO? 4 man elimination battle royal - Maki Yoshida vs Daisuke Shimura vs Asano Kaneshiro vs Mad Bomber - 97% rating Missed screencapping the results, but damn. Maki Yoshida, the smallest and oldest guy in the match, absolutely killed it. He eliminated Shimura at around 15 min with the Blue Crush and then absorbed tremendous damage from both Asano and Mad Bomber...still, in the end, he hit both the bigger men with Blue Crushes and eliminated both only 20 seconds apart. Dominant. No 1 Contenders match for the ZIP JAPAN Junior Heavyweight Championship - Shuji Tsukamoto vs Tora Katsu Another MOTN contender as Tsukamoto shows he has the goods to be a top level heel in ZIP JAPAN. Classic stuff, the heel dominant for long stretches, with the babyface getting in plenty of hope spots. Shuji used the Ice Pick (Burning Hammer) too early and only got a 2.9, but the Amaze Impact -> NagataLock III combo did the trick. Love that finish sequence. Tsukamoto will be a tough test for Justin Starr. ZIP JAPAN Heavyweight Championship match - Jin Matsuda (C) vs GORO This match was so very nearly the classic I hoped it would be, but fell slightly short in my eyes. The action was great, Matsuda was hitting flying knees from EVERYWHERE, and the right guy won the match in the end. I was just hoping for a slightly longer match and for GORO to debut his new Victimizer finish. Either way, a solid main event to cap off the show, and a new Heavyweight Champion. Gorobei Jr failed at the final hurdle more than once, but in his very first attempt GORO has captured the biggest prize in ZIP JAPAN. Should be fun to see where things go with him from here. Thanks to everyone who attended and a special thanks to Senator for kinda taking the lead in the chat in my absence. It's nice to know ZIP JAPAN has some enthusiastic supporters out there. I'm also gonna announce here that ZIP JAPAN is going on a tiny holiday hiatus, I've got a super busy schedule over the next couple of weeks, and can't really commit to running a show on "normal" schedule. I may still do the odd random stream in the meantime, but the next official ZIP JAPAN show will probably be in the new year. I'll post the next event card here once I have a date in mind for the return.

Hey guys, sorry for sleeping on this topic for so long....busy holidays etc. anyways, PROMO! *camera fades in on a close up of a dark towel*
GORO: <I said it would happen...and it happened. Jin Matsuda has been exposed as the pretender he is. Your new ZIP JAPAN Heavyweight Champion...is me!>
*GORO rips the towel off his head, revealing his face in extreme close up*
GORO: <GORO!>
*the camera slowly pulls back as he speaks, revealing that he is standing in a single spotlight in the center of the ZIP JAPAN ring, the arena full of empty seats. His Title belt is draped over his shoulder*
GORO: <The rest of you meatbags in the locker room better listen up and pay attention. Your landscape has changed, and your world is now a darker place. 2018 will be unlike anything any of you have experienced in the past. Fair warning: I am officially declaring that ZIP JAPAN is now my hunting grounds...and I've staked out my turf.>
*GORO shrugs his shoulder to indicate his title*
GORO: <Challenge me, and you'll leave this ring on a stretcher...if I let you leave at all. And for all you fans out there who knew me under my old name, my father's name...you don't know anything. The comparisons between us are over, because there IS NO comparison. Gorobei was a great champion in the past, but he's dead! He's gone!>
*GORO is working himself up into a frenzy*
GORO: <This is MY time, and I am the most dominant pro wrestler in all of ZIP JAPAN. I am GORO! I am the Alpha!....and everyone else is just in line...to be my next victim!>
*camera fades out on GORO's maniacal grin*

PROMO TIME with Tomi ZIP! *camera fades in on Tomi's smiling face in close up, and pulls back slowly as she speaks*
Tomi: <Hello fans of ZIP JAPAN! This Friday night, January 12 2018, ZIP JAPAN will be presenting the New Year of Triumph show from Yokohama! I'm very excited to say that with me at this time is the man defending his title in the main event, the ZIP JAPAN Junior Heavyweight Champion, Justin Starr!>
*by now the camera has pulled back enough to reveal Starr standing next to Tomi in front of a ZIP JAPAN banner. He gives an informal little bow to Tomi and speaks with accented Japanese*
Justin Starr: <Hello, Tomi-chan! Glad to be here.>
Tomi: <First off, Justin-san, congratulations on your victory over Ichiro Katagiri!>
Justin Starr: <Thanks. I was just as sick of seeing that clown parading around with the Junior Championship as everyone else was. Now he's back at the level he deserves to be, losing in opening matches on supercards. (he gives a little smirk) Katagiri is a tough guy though...he'll find his way back up the cards eventually.>
Tomi: <Not too soon I hope. Haha. Anyways, this Friday you'll be wrestling against Shuji Tsukamoto, defending your newly won title. He's an opponent you've never faced before, do you have any reservations going into the match?>
Justin Starr: <None whatsoever. Tsukamoto has made a big splash since his debut. He had a great performance in the Super Z Cup and he's racked up some impressive wins since then. But I'm not the type of guy to run scared from a challenge. I'm going to->
*suddenly Starr is slammed in the back of the head with a forearm smash delivered in a sneak attack by Tsukamoto. Tomi squeals and jumps out of the way as Tsukamoto viciously stomps Justin Starr repeatedly on the concrete floor. He picks up Starr's belt as Starr lies groaning on the floor. Tsukamoto stares as the belt for a moment, and then whips Starr across the back twice with it, ugly red welts immediately appearing on his back. Tsukamoto throws the belt down across Starr's prone body and begins to scream at him*
Shuji Tsukamoto: <You're all washed up - your "star" has faded! I'm the best of the new breed in ZIP JAPAN, and I'll prove to the world just how past your prime you are! This Friday night, I'm pushing you off your pedestal and right out the door! Your time in ZIP JAPAN is done! You hear me, gaijin trash? DONE!>
*Tsukamoto stomps out of shot, and the camera refocuses on Starr's semi-conscious body on the ground as Tomi crouches over him and shakes him by the shoulder. He begins to come around and the camera fades out on a closeup of Starr's face, as his expression of pain transforms into one of anger*

Jan 12, 2018 ZIP JAPAN New Year of Triumph - Ichiro Katagiri vs Minoru Hoshino Ahahahah, oh man. Katagiri is certainly paying the price for his arrogance and stupidity. This was a strong opening match that Katagiri actually dominated for stretches, but Hoshino's high octane offense caught Ichiro off-guard in the end, leaving him exposed to Hoshino's devastating 450. Props to Hoshino for defeating the former champ, who will remain in the opening match slot for now. - Kenzo Kobayashi vs Mr Suplex Another excellent match, both guys getting in lots of offense. Kenzo survived being tossed out of the ring a couple of times, and got a sick looking CRITICAL with the second Schwein of the match. Pure HEEL. - Super Scorpio vs Saburo Hamada The night just kept getting better with this stellar juniors match. Hamada held absolutely nothing back here, unloading his entire arsenal into Scorpio's face from the get go. To his credit, Super Scorpio hung in there a long time and kept kicking out of everything including Macho Man elbows, Avalanche reverse ranas, and THREE Perfect Drivers. But Hamada would not be denied, and the fourth Perfect Driver finally proved decisive. - Jimmy Nails vs Mad Bomber Poor Jimmy Nails. He tried so hard. He did everything he could to keep Mad Bomber off his feet and work the legs, but once he started getting powerbombed it was only matter of time. The second triple powerbomb of the match knocked him silly and put him out of his misery. - Yutaro Ichikawa vs Satoshi Iguchi A match with big implications for the future, both of these guys have been super hot recently, but one of them had to falter. Iguchi hit cutters left and right, and kicked out of an Ichikawa Cannonball Senton...until Ichikawa slapped on a Minoru Special armbar out of nowhere for a great submission win. Ichikawa taking a big step up the juniors ladder here. ZIP JAPAN Archive match from 2008 - Demon Otsu vs Genki Raiga One of Demon Otsu's best performances early in his ZIP JAPAN career, this was a stellar, hard fought victory over a legend in the making. Otsu got dropped on his head more times than I care to recall, but he kept coming back for more and eventually his vicious offense wore Raiga down. The second Devil's Drop of the match did the job. This was one of the matches that cemented Otsu's reputation in ZIP JAPAN. - Wataru Nakajima vs Kenji Sawada Good god this match. An easy contender for MOTN, Nakajima was absolutely brutal for long stretches of this one. He busted open Sawada in the first couple of minutes, and then busted out every big move he has in his playbook several times. Nakajima hit his special backdrop pin too early and only got a 2.9, and then he went ballistic, hitting multiple dives from the turnbuckles and several nasty headdrops. Sawada fought back with a Johnny Spike and an Evil Clutch Driver that Nakajima completely no sold. In the end, Nakajima simply ran out of gas and couldn't muster a kickout after a big Towerhacker bomb. A disappointing result for Nakajima fans, but just a great performance from both wrestlers. - ECKO vs White Trash Another insane match, with both guys throwing caution to the wind and tossing themselves around the ring like ragdolls. White Trash hit five, count em FIVE Yardtards in this match, including a spot where he did two in a row without even bothering trying a pin. Never change, White Trash. There were Tombstones and flying ranas galore, but when the flippy shit couldn't get the job done, ECKO pulled a Cross STF out of his bag of tricks and forced the tapout from Trash. Great stuff, deserved 100%. One Fall 6 Man Tag Team match - Takeshi Kiriyama/Asano Kaneshiro/GORO vs Jin Matsuda/Akira Shinjo/Daisuke Shimura Well well well. GORO losing his first appearance as ZIP JAPAN Heavyweight champion albeit in a non title match. Solid work from everyone involved here, GORO did most of the heavy lifting for his team, and it was electric when GORO squared off against former champ Jin Matsuda. GORO got to hit his new Victimizer finish, but couldn't get a pin. In the end, Shinjo beat him down and put him away with a Final Cut elbow. Akira Shinjo was friends with Gorobei Sr and briefly teamed with Gorobei Jr when junior was still an up and comer, so there's some history there. We'll see what happens next. Elimination Triple Threat to determine No 1 Contender to ZIP JAPAN Heavyweight Championship - Thunder Fist vs Donnie Doogan vs Maki Yoshida Damn this was so good, another MOTN contender. Too many great spots to recount. Yoshida was absolutely brutal and dominant again, eliminating both his opponents in this multi man match. The set up is very tantalizing with Yoshida, the tag partner of the former champ Matsuda, getting the first title opportunity against GORO. Can't wait for that one. ZIP JAPAN Junior Heavyweight Championship match - Justin Starr (C) vs Shuji Tsukamoto A very fine main event match, and another MOTN contender despite the rating. Tsukamoto hit his Ice Pick finish about 10 minutes in, and the match went insane. Both guys then spent the remaining 8 minutes absolutely killing the shit out of each other with all their biggest moves over and over. There were tons of great false finishes and near falls. Eventually Starr scored a couple of very timely reversals and managed to lock in his Anaconda Vice for the win and successful title defense. Some nice revenge after Tsukamoto's sneak attack on Starr earlier this week. Overall I am so happy with how this show went. Every match delivered above expectations and offered something worth seeing, and the ratings were uniformly excellent across 11 matches. However, if you're only going to watch parts of the show, I'd say you can't miss the Nakajima match or the last two matches. There's some interesting stuff coming out of these results, the next show should be a doozy as well. Thanks again to everyone who made it for at least some of the show, it was super fun times as always. Hope to see you all back for the next one. The next ZIP JAPAN show will be on Friday Jan 26th at 9pm EST. Card details will be posted soon.

PROMO TIME with Tomi ZIP *camera fade in on Tomi ZIP, standing in front of a ZIP JAPAN banner at the training facility in Yokohama, holding a microphone*
Tomi: <Hello ZIP JAPAN fans! Allow me to play you this video, recorded the day following the latest ZIP JAPAN show, New Year of Triumph!>
*cut to black and white security cam footage, the interior of Reiko ZIP's office. The camera is mounted on the ceiling, showing the people at a downward angle. Reiko is seated at her desk and in front of her sit Super Scorpio and Tetsuo K. Both men are wearing black track suits and their wrestling masks*
Reiko: <Alright you two, you've both requested this meeting, so here I am, what do you wish to discuss?>
Scorpio: <Reiko-sama (he bows slightly), the issue is this upstart Saburo Hamada (Scorpio's voice is raspy, but he speaks very formally). Sure, the boy is talented, but he's getting booked on every card. Frankly, we're concerned about maintaining our spot. We're seeking assurances from you.>
*Tetsuo K nods enthusiastically*
Reiko: <I see. Well, Hamada won the Super Z Cup, and he's been steadily improving since. Plus he defeated you last night, Scorpio. I agree he's been a little big headed recently, but I book the shows based on performances, and to be honest, in the last few weeks, Hamada-san's performances have been better than either of yours.>
*Scorpio is sitting upright but shifting uncomfortably in his chair. Tetsuo K is leaning back with his legs crossed and his arms folded*
Scorpio: <Give us a chance, Reiko-sama, I promise, either Testsuo K or myself will defeat this rookie. We are two of your longest serving veterans, we deserve the opportunity to put Hamada in his place.>
*Tetsuo K raises a clenched fist briefly. Reiko considers for a moment*
Reiko: <Ok, here's what I'm going to do. At the next ZIP JAPAN show, you two can team up to face Hamada and a partner of his choosing. If your team wins, Hamada will get bumped to the bottom rung of the ladder in the Juniors division. However, if Hamada's team wins, you two will have to face each other at the following event in a mask vs mask match. What do you say?>
*Tetsuo K glances at Scorpio, then suddenly stands up, gives Reiko two thumbs up, and casually strolls out her office door. Scorpio is caught off guard and sits there gawping for a moment*
Scorpio: <Er, ah yes...that will be fine. Thank you Reiko-sama, we won't let you down!>
*cut back to Tomi ZIP, still in front of the ZIP JAPAN banner. Standing with her is Saburo Hamada, wearing a wide grin*
Tomi: <An interesting video, wouldn't you say, Hamada-san?>
Hamada: (he scoffs) <A couple of old has-beens crying about the new order? I'm not surprised. They know they can't hang with me in the ring and they're scared.>
Tomi: <What about Reiko's comments regarding your ego? Do you think she might have made this match to teach you a lesson of some kind?>
Hamada: <Nah, Reiko's no dummy. She books her shows to put fans in seats. Any match with me will draw, and naturally Reiko knows that I am sure to win, and that there's definite interest in a mask vs mask match between Tetsuo K and Super Scorpio. Both of them have been masked for their whole career, and people will pay to see what they look like underneath. It's a stroke of genius on her part. My ego isn't an issue.>
Tomi: <Well, the card has been published, so the cat is out of the bag. You've chosen as your partner a legend of the ZIP JAPAN Junior division, The Great HAGE!>
Hamada: <Damn right I did. I asked him and he jumped at the chance to return to ZIP JAPAN for one night. Not only did he train me to wrestle as a rookie, but back in his prime HAGE-sensei faced and defeated Super Scorpio and Tetsuo K multiple times. He knows these guys inside and out. We can't lose!>
Tomi: <And what about the back injury that ended Great HAGE's career? Will that be a factor?>
Hamada: *he wags his finger at Tomi* <Don't you worry your pretty little head about that, Tomi-chan. When I called HAGE-sensei, he told me his back is stronger than it's been in years. He might have a little ring rust, but he'll be good to go. Plus, of course, he'll have me as his partner. Trust me, victory is all but assured.>
Tomi: <Any thoughts you'd like to share with your opponents at Blue Vengeance?>
Hamada: (addressing the camera directly) <Super Scorpio and Tetsuo K...you've invited this on yourselves with your own lack of confidence. You will lose and then one of you will lose your mask in disgrace. It's almost a shame, but I'll be honest...I'm looking forward to it. See you January 26th!>
Tomi: <Thanks for being here today Hamada-san! Until next time, this is Tomi ZIP, signing off!>
*Tomi flashes a peace sign as the camera fades out*

PROMO TIME with Tomi ZIP! *camera fades in on a closeup of Tomi ZIP, looking serious and holding a microphone*
Tomi: <Greetings, fans of ZIP JAPAN! As most of you know, this Friday, January 26, ZIP JAPAN Heavyweight Champion GORO will defend his title for the first time against the veteran Maki Yoshida at the Blue Vengeance event. I'm very pleased to say that I've got both men with me here today to share their thoughts on the upcoming title match.>
*camera cuts to a wider shot, revealing Maki Yoshida to Tomi's left and GORO on her right. Both men are wearing their ring gear and GORO has the ZIP JAPAN Heavyweight Title around his waist*
Tomi: <Let's begin with the challenger. Yoshida-san, you've wrestled for the ZIP JAPAN Heavyweight Championship before, but never held the title. Do you feel that this is your time?>
Yoshida: <Tomi, I feel like I can win every match I enter...what would be the point otherwise? It's true that I'm on a good run, I've been injury free for over a year, and our Champion is an immature whelp too big for his boots. Can I defeat GORO? Of course. Will I defeat GORO this Friday? (he gives a wry grin) I guess fans will have to tune in to find out.>
Tomi: <I see. (she turns to face GORO) And now to our Champion, after defeating Yoshida's tag partner Jin Matsuda to win the Championship, you declared that the ZIP JAPAN ring is your hunting ground.>
GORO: <That's right. I'm the alpha predator, and it's open season on ZIP JAPAN wrestlers. Yoshida is old and weak, and I've got him separated from the herd. One on one he doesn't stand a chance against me....despite what Reiko might think.>
Tomi: <What do you mean by that?>
GORO: <Don't play coy with me, I'm not an idiot. It's right there in the event name..."Blue Vengeance"? Who does Reiko think she's fooling? She has held me back for years, and now that I'm at the top of the mountain, she can't wait to have me pushed off it. It's obvious that Reiko is behind Yoshida to win, but she'll get a nasty surprise, along with everyone else watching! (GORO turns his attention to Yoshida and shouts) I beat your bitch boy Matsuda, and this Friday I'm going to end your damn career!>
*Yoshida reaches over and takes Tomi's arm and brings the microphone back in front of him*
Yoshida: (calmly) <Heh, you know, I was good friends with your father Gorobei, and I've known you since you were a small boy. I witnessed your slow but inevitable rise through the ranks, but just look at how you've turned out...an arrogant loudmouth who runs down everyone, and you've got a paranoid persecution complex. You may be the ZIP JAPAN Heavyweight Champion...but your father would be ashamed of what you've become.>
GORO: (angrily shouting) <Fuck you! and Fuck Gorobei too!>
*Almost too fast to see, Yoshida's hand whips out and delivers a vicious open handed slap to GORO, hitting him across the jaw and ear, leaving GORO temporarily stunned and a huge red welt rising on his face*
Yoshida: <You punk! I'll teach you some respect!>
*GORO quickly recovers and jumps Yoshida. Tomi squeals and jumps out of harm's way as Yoshida and GORO engage in a rapid fire strike battle a la Takayama/Frye. Both men are repeatedly pounding each other in the face as the camera man backs off and after a moment several other wrestlers run into the shot and begin to break up the fight. Akira Shinjo, Jin Matsuda, Daisuke Shimura, and Wataru Nakajima pull Yoshida back as Donnie Doogan, Demon Otsu, Asano Kaneshiro and Takeshi Kiriyama drag GORO away from the scene, kicking and screaming obscenities. Both GORO and Yoshida have been bloodied by the exchange*
*camera fades*

Results from Blue Vengeance Jan 26: - Ichiro Katagiri vs Tora Katsu OMFG this was too funny. Katagiri busted open Katsu early and went for an Orbital Explosion, Katsu slipped out the back and got the shocking quick win via rollup. Katagiri just can't stop eating shit. From an objective standpoint this match kinda sucked, but it was perfect in its own way. - Jumbo Jinzei vs Mr Suplex A monumental effort from both guys, and a spectacular finish. Jinzei might never walk again after landing on his neck off the top rope. The first of several amazing matches tonight. - Mickey Grinds vs Mad Bomber I think overall Mickey did a better job than Jimmy Nails did at the last show, hitting a bunch of his signature moves and locking in his Darkslide Choke finish a couple of times, but Bomber's bull neck was too strong to get squeezed. Mad Bomber bided his time, and nailed a sequence of devastating powerbombs for the win. - Thunder Fist vs Demon Otsu Another MOTN contender here, both guys going balls to the wall from the opening bell. Thunder Fist got busted open almost right away but fought valiantly through Otsu's onslaught. Eventually, the Bowel Evacuation/Lights Out punch combo was more than Otsu could handle. Non Title Match - Justin Starr vs Satoshi Iguchi Iguchi has a little Nakajima vibe going on right now...Every match he gives a superb performance, but he usually ends up on the losing side. Starr showed the fans why he is the champ, eating and no selling numerous cutter variations before putting away Iguchi. It requires an extra special effort to defeat Justin Starr and Iguchi came up just short tonight. ZIP JAPAN Archive match from 2003 - King ZIP/Kintaro vs Crusher Kodo/Wataru Nakajima Classic matchup here, two monster heels vs two grumpy old men. Kodo in particular was on fire in this one, smashing people left and right with lariats galore. Nakajima got chokeslammed off the top rope by King ZIP and there was tons of brawling. In the end, Kodo CRITICAL'd Kintaro with his Kodo Crusher. Brutal headdrop finish. - Donnie Doogan vs Jin Matsuda Two former Heavyweight Champions going toe to toe, and oh boy this did not disappoint. Great back and forth action in this match, including a Doogan Hammer II in the ropes, and Matsuda getting a nasty CRITICAL with the top rope Codebreaker. God damn. ONE TIME ONLY return match - Great HAGE/Saburo Hamada vs Super Scorpio/Tetsuo K After a slow start, Great HAGE really grew into this match. All 4 guys got in almost all of their big offense, and HAGE was on fire, hitting top rope dives, avalanche huracanranas to the floor, and securing the win with his patented Spinning HAGE Bomb. Scorpio never tried to make the save, and will now have to face Tetsuo K in a mask vs mask match at the next ZIP JAPAN show. A superb return to the ZIP JAPAN ring for the veteran Great HAGE, it remains to be seen if this was just a one off appearance or the start of a career rejuvenation. Elimination Triple Threat for the No 1 Contender to the ZIP JAPAN Junior Heavyweight Championship - Yutaro Ichikawa vs ECKO vs Shuji Tsukamoto Killer juniors action here, all 3 guys threw caution to the wind in their attempt to earn a title shot against Justin Starr. Tons of reversals, dives, pin breaks and double teams....Seriously, any one of the last 6 matches could've been MOTN. Ichikawa eliminated ECKO with an armbar before smashing in Tsukamoto's skull with a detonation kick for the win. Justin Starr vs Yutaro Ichikawa will be pretty damn special. No 1 Contenders to the ZIP JAPAN Tag Team Championship - Team Fighting Spirit (Akira Shinjo/Daisuke Shimura) vs Pure HEEL (Kenji Sawada/Kenzo Kobayashi) Well not every matchup is an instant classic. This was a very good match between two evenly matched teams, including Green Crush running in at the start for an impromptu beatdown on Pure HEEL before Shinjo and Shimura even made their entrance....but it wasn't quite as spectacular as the rest of the card. Still, Team Fighting Spirit got the respectable result and become #1 contenders. ZIP JAPAN Heavyweight Championship match - GORO (c) vs Maki Yoshida Exactly what GORO needed. GORO was busted open like 30 seconds into this match, and got his ass beaten for a long time. Yoshida was relentless with the headbutts and kept the champ on the defensive. There was a great spot with GORO hitting the Victimizer for a 2.9 and then Yoshida hit a Blue Crush for a 2.9 right after. Somehow, GORO survived Yoshida's assault and pulled off a fantastic comeback victory to really cement his place at the top of the card. He's now defeated both members of Blue Destiny in recent weeks, and everyone in the locker room is having to come to terms with the fact that GORO is for real. A fantastic main event match. Thanks very much to everyone who attended all or part of the show, apologies for the late start. Next ZIP JAPAN show will be on Friday Feb 9 at 9pm EST. I'll have an official card posted soon, and hope to see you all there! :D

Important ZIP JAPAN Announcement! *camera fades in on Reiko ZIP sitting in her office*
Reiko: <Greetings, fans. I'm here today to discuss the results of Blue Vengeance and to announce the card for ZIP JAPAN's next show on Feb 9, 2018: Juniors Hustle. I've decided on this name to celebrate the strength of ZIP JAPAN's Junior Division, and in light of the fact that this card, for the first time ever (not counting the Super Z Cup) will feature more Juniors matches than Heavyweight matches.>
*screen splits to show Reiko on the right side and a graphic depicting the card on the left*
Reiko: <First off, I have to commend Ichiro Katagiri. Despite his embarrassing losing streak over recent weeks, he has somehow maintained his composure backstage and generally behaved himself. Once he manages to get a win he will officially be able to move back up the ladder in the ZIP JAPAN Junior Heavyweight Division. In the opening match of Juniors Hustle Katagiri will face none other than ZIP JAPAN's trailer park gangster, White Trash!>
Reiko: <Next up is a couple of men who haven't had the greatest results over the last few events...but have produced excellent matches nonetheless. In a rematch of their Wrestling with Destiny encounter, Wataru Nakajima will face Demon Otsu. Next up is another Juniors battle pitting the Cutter King Satoshi Iguchi against the Firebrand Minoru Hoshino. The next Juniors match will see Shuji Tsukamoto, coming off a pair of demoralizing defeats, square off against Tora Katsu, whose star is once again on the rise. These two last faced each other at Wrestling with Destiny for a shot a the Junior Heavyweight Title, and Tsukamoto came out on top. Will Tsukamoto dominate again, or will Katsu get his revenge?>
Reiko: <I was very pleased to witness the successful return of one of my all time favorite ZIP JAPAN competitors, The Great HAGE, at Blue Vengeance. I am even more pleased to announce that following the match, HAGE revealed to me that he was willing to return to a limited schedule as part of the ZIP JAPAN roster! With that said, I've decided to book him in another tag match with his student Saburo Hamada to face off against Pure HEEL, Kobayashi and Sawada. It will be a stern test for HAGE and Hamada to face an experienced Heavyweight team, but I expect good things from them.>
Reiko: <Once again, we will be dipping into the ZIP JAPAN tape library to present a classic archive match from 2007. This matchup is from very early in the career of masked man ECKO, against ZIP JAPAN's resident loco luchador, Captain Insano Jr. This was only a few months after ECKO debuted by interfering in a HAGE vs Iguchi Junior Heavyweight Championship match and putting Iguchi on the shelf for almost a year.>
Reiko: <I must congratulate ZIP JAPAN Heavyweight Champion GORO for his successful title defense against Maki Yoshida at Blue Vengeance. Despite what GORO may think, I have no personal stake in seeing him win or lose the Championship, and had no bias towards Yoshida in this match, as evidenced by my impartial refereeing during the bout. In an interest in keeping the Champion sharp and active during an event where his title is not being defended, I have scheduled GORO to team with Donnie Doogan in a tag match against Jimmy Nails and Mickey Grinds.>
Reiko: <Next up, following their loss to The Great HAGE and Saburo Hamada at Blue Vengeance, Junior veterans Super Scorpio and Tetsuo K will face each other in a mask vs mask match. The loser of this contest will be forced to remove his mask immediately following the match, and will be forbidden from wearing it again for the duration of their ZIP JAPAN career. Both men have been masked for their entire tenure in ZIP JAPAN, so there is more than just pride on the line in this match.>
Reiko: <The first of 3 massive main event matches will be a Fatal Four Way elimination match to determine the #1 Contender for the ZIP JAPAN Heavyweight Championship. In the ring will be Mad Bomber, Jin Matsuda, Mr Suplex and Thunder Fist. All four men are coming off of strong performances at Blue Vengenace and I believe this match will deliver plenty of the hard hitting action that ZIP JAPAN is known for.>
Reiko: <The second main event will feature the ZIP JAPAN Tag Team Champions Green Crush, Asano Kaneshiro and Takeshi Kiriyama, defending their titles against the current #1 contenders, Team Fighting Spirit, Akira Shinjo and Daisuke Shimura. These two teams faced each other for the tag titles at Wars of Winter, and produced a fantastic match...I expect no less from this encounter.>
Reiko: <Finally, in the main event of Juniors Hustle, ZIP JAPAN Junior Heavyweight Champion Justin Starr will defend his title against Yutaro Ichikawa. Starr is an established champion well on his way to becoming a legend in ZIP JAPAN, but Ichikawa is a hungry young competitor with a solid skill set and a great run of results on his side. Who will emerge victorious? Please join us on Feb 9, 2018 at 9pm EST to find out! I hope to see you all at ZIP JAPAN Juniors Hustle!>

ZIP JAPAN Juniors Hustle results: - Ichiro Katagiri vs White Trash A bit of a squash to start the night, as Katagiri finally emerges from his personal hell with a victory in the opening slot. I guess Katagiri was finally sick to death of losing, or Trash just felt sorry for him. Trash didn't really get any signature offense in, but he did kick out of an Orbital Explosion. I guess that's some consolation :P - Wataru Nakajima vs Demon Otsu Say what you will about old man Nakajima, you can't say he ever phones in a performance. He and Otsu spent the match nailing each other with big moves, and trading powerbombs for a sick finish. Great stuff. Now if only Nakajima could somehow get a win lol. - Minoru Hoshino vs Satoshi Iguchi Another kind of "just there" match, Hoshino hit a 450 splash at one point, but failed to make a cover, and then Iguchi just started dropping Cutters left and right. Not much else to say here, Hoshino is still essentially a job guy, and Iguchi is good but can't quite make the step up to the next tier. :| - Shuji Tsukamoto vs Tora Katsu First really hot match of the night. Katsu showed a ton of resolve, kicking out of many big moves for near falls, and hitting more than few big moves of his own. In the end, Tsukamoto's power was too much for Katsu to overcome. Tsukamoto now back on the cusp of the title picture in the Juniors Division. - The Great HAGE/Saburo Hamada vs Pure HEEL (Kenzo Kobayashi/Kenji Sawada) A really solid tag match that told a great story I thought. A rookie junior and his mentor against a team of experienced heavyweights. HAGE did all the heavy lifting for his team, really showing that he's still got it after all this time. Hamada got piledriver'd on the floor pretty early, and then didn't do much for the rest of the match, leaving HAGE to carry the team. Kenzo went absolutely nuts at one point delivering back to back Avalanche Butterfly suplexes to HAGE, and Sawada finished the job with a Towerhacker bomb. Not a great result for HAGEmada, but the result I wanted for storyline purposes :P ZIP JAPAN Archive match from 2007 - ECKO vs Captain Insano Jr. A great match to pull out of the vault, this was actually much better than the match rating suggests. There were Tombstones, Avalanche tombstones, Destinos, and dives galore. ECKO was cool and kicked ass, and Insano absorbed tremendous damage and kept coming back for more, while landing plenty of big offensive moves himself. Quality stuff. - GORO/Donnie Doogan vs Nails n Grinds (Jimmy Nails/Mickey Grinds) Another excellent tag match to start off the second half of the show, and another interesting story told. The makeshift team of GORO and Doogan didn't really get on the same page to no one's surprise, but both guys managed to do plenty of damage in the match. That being said, the teamwork of Nails and Grinds really shone here, both guys isolating the ZIP JAPAN Champion as often as possible and wearing him down with their relentless limb work. Neither guy could make the champ tap out, but Jimmy's Fisherman Suplex was a shot heard 'round the world. GORO won't be pleased with that. Mask vs Mask - Super Scorpio vs Tetsuo K Some really great drama in this match. Mask vs Mask really needs a lot of near falls to deliver tension, and this match had plenty. So many close calls, and the chat was more or less split in who they wanted to win...so every close call really felt important. You could tell that both guys really wanted to win this one, and the desperation escalated to pretty insane levels by the end. Tetsuo K followed up a Fire Star Splash with a devastating Buzzsaw Kick to secure the win and safeguard his mask. Scorpio was unmasked, and yes, he is ugly as sin. 4 Way Elimination match to determine No 1 Contender for the ZIP JAPAN Heavyweight Championship - Mad Bomber vs Jin Matsuda vs Mr. Suplex vs Thunder Fist For the intense action and incredible story, this was your MOTN, right here. Mr Suplex put on an inspiring display tonight...He's dragged himself up by the bootstraps from working preliminary matches a month or so ago, to being the #1 contender for GORO's Championship. Suplex CRITICAL'D Matsuda with a Genki Raiga-plex, and the action with the three remaining guys was simply amazing. Suplex was fearless in going straight after the terrifying Mad bomber over and over, and after Fist got Powerbombed out of his boots, Suplex did the unthinkable and pinned Bomber with a Tiger Suplex variation. So stoked for this, GORO vs Mr Suplex is much more appealing than GORO vs Mad Bomber to me. ZIP JAPAN Tag Team Championship match - Green Crush (Asano Kaneshiro/Takeshi Kiriyama) (c) vs Team Fighting Spirit (Akira Shinjo/Daisuke Shimura) A third excellent tag team match on this night, both teams working well together and getting their spots in. Asano in particular was a beast, hitting an absurd amount of diving and avalanche moves for such a big man. Several great exchanges in this one, ending with a sickening Explosion Kick from Shinjo to make Team Fighting Spirit your new ZIP JAPAN Tag Team Champions! ZIP JAPAN Junior Heavyweight Championship match - Justin Starr (c) vs Yutaro Ichikawa And here was the aforementioned dud. Shame it happened in the final match of the night, but this match got RNGeesus'd. Test sims of this encounter were epic, but what we got was a glorified squash in the main event. Ichikawa went nowhere, and Starr put him away with his first signature move. Starr proves his dominance once again, as Ichikawa clearly bit off more than he could chew here. *shrugs* It happens, I guess :P As always, I appreciate the support of the peeps who show up to my streams, and look forward to doing it again soon. The next ZIP JAPAN show will be Friday, Feb 23rd at 9pm EST. Card TBA in the next couple of days. See you all then, if not before!

I want to try something a little new here. Instead of in depth interview-style promos, I'm gonna try a few shorter ones, like they used to do on WWF shows back in the day. A guy standing in front of a camera alone, and getting 30 - 60 seconds to say his piece. So with that said, here we go: ZIP JAPAN promo roundup! *camera fades in on Ichiro Katagiri*
Katagiri: <Finally...the time has come. The King of the ZIP JAPAN Juniors Division has returned from his exile! It's been a hell of a journey for me, but I'm that much stronger for it...and that's enough reason right there for the rest of you to be afraid. That's right, afraid! I've walked through fire and I'm a hardened, tempered pulverizing machine! So, everyone from that pretender Justin Starr all the way down to the guys doing the job in the opening matches, get ready! The Knees of Death are back...and they're coming for all of you!>
*a ZIP JAPAN logo swooshes across the screen to transition to Wataru Nakajima*
Nakajima: <Hrm. Yeah, I know. I've had a rough go of things lately, and I haven't gotten the best results...but getting thrown into a tag match against Blue Destiny? Those guys are my friends, not to mention the fact they've both been in the ZIP JAPAN Heavyweight Championship picture for the last few months. I gotta say, I'm feeling pretty hard done by. Not to mention the fact that I haven't been in a tag match in years! My partner was Crusher Kodo! My tag team days are in the past, and I don't have any interest in getting used to a new partner!>
*Thunder Fist moves into the camera shot, standing silently behind Nakajima and holding a long iron rod*
Nakajima: <This guy Thunder Fist is a behemoth, but he doesn't even speak Japanese! How are we supposed to communicate or have any sort of cohesion as a team? I ought to go see Reiko right now, and get myself extricated from this mess.>
*Nakajima turns to leave, and sees Thunder Fist standing there. Nakajima is frozen and after staring at the iron rod for a second, he begins to blubber incoherently. Thunder Fist casually bends the length of iron around his forearm*
Thunder Fist: FIIIISSSSSSSST! NA-Ka-Jeema! Strong!
*Nakajima's expression brightens up considerably and he smiles*
Nakajima: <Yes, yes, my boy. I can see how strong you are....this might just work out after all!>
*Nakajima slaps Thunder Fist enthusiastically on the back. Another logo swoosh and the camera now shows GORO*
GORO: <So Reiko decided I needed to "stay sharp", and she put me in a tag match against Nails n' Grinds with Doogan as my partner? That's not staying sharp, that's getting punished! To call Donnie Doogan a useless meathead is an insult to useless meatheads everywhere, so I was stuck in what was essentially a handicap match! Maybe I should change my name from the Victimizer to the Victimized! Anyways...Jimmy Nails, your victory means less than nothing, and Reiko...next time you have a show without a proper match for me, just give me the damn night off! Now...Mr. Suplex, you did very well for himself in the Number 1 contenders match, and stepped to the front of the line for a whooping. I guess I've beaten up on those Blue Destiny Chumps for long enough, it's time for a new victim...and you'll do nicely. I've been tossed around the ring by bigger and and badder than you Suplex, and I always find a way. At Path to Redemption, the story will be the same. You bring your A-game Mr. Suplex, I'll bring the body bags!>

PROMO TIME with Tomi ZIP *camera fades in on Tomi ZIP, standing in front of a ZIP JAPAN banner and holding a mic. Standing next to her is the Great HAGE*
Tomi: <Hello fans! Tomi ZIP here and I'm very happy to have with me a legend who recently returned to the ZIP JAPAN Juniors Division, the Great HAGE!>
*HAGE lifts up his toupee as though he was tipping his hat to Tomi, revealing his bald head underneath*
HAGE: <Haha, thanks, Tomi! It's fantastic to be back.>
Tomi: <Your career in ZIP JAPAN was interrupted by a 3 year hiatus caused by a back injury....tell me about your injury and your path back into wrestling.>
HAGE: <Of course. All the bumps and little injuries I picked up over the years of working a high-impact style added up to constant chronic lower back pain. I quit wrestling because I just couldn't perform at the level I wanted to any more. After I retired, I underwent surgery to fuse two of my lumbar vertebrae. I got relief from the pain, but it limited my mobility. I began training other wrestlers and gave up hope of ever returning to the ring myself.>
Tomi: <So what changed your mind about coming back?>
HAGE: <It started with the Super Z Cup. It was such an excellent tournament, we had nothing like that when I was a young man...it made me wish I was 15 years younger! I was very proud that my student Saburo Hamada won the Super Z Cup finals...it's just a shame he wasted the Junior Heavyweight Title opportunity. Anyways, that was what got me thinking about a possible comeback. I had been pain free for a while so I intensified my normal workout schedule and got back into prime shape in a hurry. When Hamada-san approached me about a tag match against Super Scorpio and Tetsuo K, I jumped at the chance.>
Tomi: <You won that match with your signature HAGE Bomb, how did it feel to make a triumphant return?>
HAGE: <It was such a great rush of emotion, stepping through those ropes and hearing the fans chanting H-A-G-E! It was amazing. ZIP JAPAN is my home, and it felt like I was back where I belong. Winning the match was just the icing on the cake, even if I had to do the lion's share of the work for my team.>
Tomi: <How long do you think this career resurgence will last?>
HAGE: <Since I started my in ring career at such a young age, it's easy to forget I'm not actually that old! I'm almost 38 years old now, so I feel like if I can avoid serious injury, I could easily have another few good years left in me!>
Tomi: <At Path to Redemption, you and Saburo Hamada will be facing the team of Satoshi Iguchi and Ichiro Katagiri...any words for your opponents?>
HAGE: <No, but I do have something to say to my partner/protege Hamada....Hamada-san! You need to improve! You have the skills but your attitude is lacking! I did all the work against Scorpio and Tetsuo, and last week against Pure HEEL you more or less abandoned me to take a beating. This week, I expect better from you...show me the heart that I know you have!>
Tomi: <Thanks very much for sharing your time with us today HAGE-san. (she bows to HAGE)...until next time, this is Tomi ZIP, signing off!>
*Tomi flashes a peace sign and the camera fades out*

Let's get right to it: Path to Redemption Feb 23. - Green Crush (Takeshi Kiriyama and Asano Kaneshiro) vs The Capitalists (Anthony Kalb and Kevin Fitsharris) The stream started a few minutes early so I threw in this little bonus dark match. A solid effort by everyone, with both teams using good teamwork throughout. This match marks the first non-Super Z Cup use of edits made by someone other than me on a ZIP JAPAN show, and the Capitalists nailed it against a very tough team. Congrats to them! - Minoru Hoshino vs White Trash A fun and quick opening match, White Trash and Hoshino trading dives in this one, but in the end White Trash scored the victory with a superkick clincher off a Strike battle. Trash getting his heat back in a big way after losing to Katagiri at Juniors Hustle. - Blue Destiny (Matsuda/Yoshida) vs Wataru Nakajima and Thunder Fist Hot damn White Trash and Nakajima victories back to back, mark down this date in the calendar lol. Blue Destiny are obviously both top guys, but coming down off of recent failures to topple GORO from his mountain. Nakajima and Thunder Fist are an odd couple team with zero experience together (and Fist has never actually been in a tag match before)....but they somehow worked well together and earned a huge victory. Not only that, Thunder Fist got a little revenge for Matsuda beating him in a non-title match back when Fist was the Champion. A really good tag match. - Mad Bomber vs Jumbo Jinzei Well these two are the biggest, heaviest guys in ZIP JAPAN, so this is as much of a hoss-fest as I'm ever likely to book :P Jinzei didn't do a hell of a lot but survive in this one, failing to use his mass in much of an offensive way. He blocked a lot of powerbomb attempts, but eventually Mad Bomber did what Mad Bomber does, which is powerbomb the shit out of people. Props to Jinzei for kicking out of as many as he did, but Bomber was not to be denied on this night. - HAGEmada (Great HAGE/Hamada) vs Ichiro Katagiri and Satoshi Iguchi Early in this match Hamada just stood on the apron while HAGE was getting beaten down by two guys like five feet away from him. HAGE had some impressive runs when he was in the match, but the heels wore down both babyfaces ruthlessly with their high impact offense, cutters and knees all over the place. Katagiri got Hamada up on the turnbuckle and delivered an absolutely crushing Urunage off the top rope...and Iguchi cut off the save attempt by HAGE. A rough night for HAGEmada. - Super Scorpio vs Yutaro Ichikawa Scorpio coming back off the loss of his mask with something to prove in this one. He and Ichikawa were having a solid, hard hitting match with tons of striking and cool dives, with both getting chances to win it. Then Ichikawa went for his patented 630 Cannonball Senton and Super Scorpio started squealing like a stuck pig. Reiko stopped the match and Scorpio went out on a stretcher straight to the hospital. Looked like busted ribs to me. ZIP JAPAN Archive match from 2009 - Justin Starr vs TheDenizen Thus began the cavalcade of ridiculously good matches. Back in the day, TheDenizen was just a regular junior competitor in ZIP JAPAN, and this match from 2009 against a young Justin Starr was pretty damn awesome if I say so myself :) Deni pummeled Starr in this match with all his best shit, including two Denizen Drivers and a sweet ass Denizen Drop -> Denisault combo, but Starr ate it all and came back for more. The second Sky Twister of the match was decisive. An early MOTN contender, but given what came after it, I dunno anymore. - Akira Shinjo vs Demon Otsu Wow. This match. Shinjo started off slow like he usually does, testing out Otsu's strength by taking a ton of offense in the early going. Once the match spilled outside, suddenly all bets were off and these guys hit each other with everything they had. Sick moves on the floor, sick moves in the ring, so many German suplexes over the top rope, and ridiculous no selling of most of it :P Shinjo looked so strong down the stretch, hitting Explosion kicks and several SheerDrop Brainbusters for multiple 2.9s, but somehow Otsu hit a pop up powerbomb for the win out of nowhere against the Tag Team Champ. A really strong outing for both guys....Otsu was getting a strong reaction in the chat...I need to have him do more heely stuff so he doesn't start getting pops :P - Daisuke Shimura vs Donnie Doogan Shimura had a difficult task in front of him with this match. His tag partner had just suffered a tough loss, and the last two times Shimura wrestled Doogan, Donnie came out on top. Shimura spent the first half of 2017 out with an injury suffered in a match against Doogan, so there was lots of history going into this one. Doogan showed off his power throughout, using press slams with reckless abandon, and flattening Shimura with a Doogan Hammer II on the arena floor. Shimura dug deep into his tank of fighting spirit, dished out some beatings of his own, and one leg whip and ROCK n ROLL later, he slapped on the Sasori-gatame for the submission win. Just a great match, easily MOTN if not for everything else around it being so brilliant too. No 1 Contender for the ZIP JAPAN Tag Team Championship - Jimmy Nails and Mickey Grinds vs Pure HEEL (Sawada/Kobayashi) Another awesome tag match, Nails n Grinds have really great chemistry with Pure HEEL, they always show up big against each other. This was a bruising affair, with the gaijin working the legs of both opponents, and the heels heeling it up and dishing out plenty of punishment. The action in the last couple of minutes was just crazy, big move after big move, and Grinds finally sealed the win with the third Turbo Drop of the match. Nails and Grinds become number one contenders to face Team Fighting Spirit for the Tag Team gold. Triple Threat match to determine No 1 Contender for the ZIP JAPAN Junior Heavyweight Championship - Tetsuo K vs Shuji Tsukamoto vs ECKO The three top heels in the Junior Division kicked the crap out of each other for the right to face Justin Starr. There were almost no double team moves in this 3 way match, everyone was just out to kill everyone else. Lots of brawling outside, and Tetsuo hit a ridiculous top rope diving rana to ECKO who was outside of the ring. Too much great action in this match to fully recount: MOTN contender again. Eventually Tetsuo got hilariously pinned by ECKO after ECKO Tombstoned Tsukamoto...and then Tsukamoto dropped ECKO with a Big body bomb onto a chair. Nasty stuff. Tsukamoto wrestled Justin Starr for the Junior Title at New Year of Triumph and came up just short. Starr vs Tsukamoto II should be amazing. ZIP JAPAN Heavyweight Championship match - GORO (c) vs Mr. Suplex Superb main event Title match. There was pretty much no "feeling out" process in this one, the guys just started hitting each other with big shots as soon as possible. Brutal back and forth action with lots of great near falls. There were so many times I thought it was over for sure, only to get a kickout at 2.9. Suplex put on an amazing display, staying in this match after receiving a ton of damage...but the finish from GORO was brilliant. He dragged Suplex to the center of the ring, flipped off the fans, then picked up Suplex and nailed him with the running float over DDT to claim another successful title defense. Nothing for Suplex to be ashamed of here, but GORO is on a special kind of roll right now. Given the title implications, sheer number of dramatic near falls, and amazing finish, I'd have to give MOTN to the main event, but any one of 5 or 6 other matches would have been fitting. Overall an amazing event....literally every match had a solid story and finish, and had something in it worth seeing. Been a while since I had so many 100%'s on a single show. :) Thanks again for coming, it's the fans that make it fun doing these shows. We'll do another one in two weeks time. **Stay tuned to this thread, Reiko ZIP has called a Press Conference for tomorrow afternoon, and has promised an announcement that will drastically alter the landscape in ZIP JAPAN!** Oh also....Immediately following Path to Redemption: *cut to locker room footage. Great HAGE and Saburo Hamada are both sweating and dejected following their hard fought loss*
HAGE: <What the hell happened out there? You left me hanging more than once, and you got your ass kicked by that punk Katagiri!>
Hamada: (hanging his head) <Sorry, HAGE-sensei. I did my best.>
HAGE: <That was your best? I've seen more heart from untrained rookies in the dojo! You've got incredible natural ability Hamada-san, but you're just going through the motions in the ring!>
Hamada: (frustrated) <What do you want from me?>
HAGE: (slaps Hamada across the face) <Fire! (another slap) Passion! (a third slap) I want you to show me something that doesn't fill me with shame for having trained you in the first place!>
Hamada: (reeling and holding his jaw) <Alright, sensei, alright. I get it.>
HAGE: (fired up) <Impress me, Hamada-san! I know you have it in you. Next show, I expect you to wrestle like you understand how much of a privilege it is to be in your position! Like you want to be here in ZIP JAPAN, and want to succeed!>
Hamada: (determined) <I won't let you down again, HAGE-sensei!>
HAGE: (laughing and clapping Hamada on the back) <That's my boy...>

ZIP JAPAN Press Conference! Huge news! (aka TheDenizen's Super Secret Project reveal) *camera fades in on Reiko ZIP, standing at a podium atop a wide stage. There are a few dozen wrestling journalists in the audience* Reiko: <Welcome everyone, and thank you for attending. I'm glad you all could be here today to hear an announcement that will impact the future of ZIP JAPAN. ZIP JAPAN has been actively promoting events for almost 30 years, and my sisters and I have been running things since the passing of King ZIP nearly 3 years ago. Suki asked me a few months back why we never had any women wrestlers on our shows, and I confess I was unable to answer. The fact is that there is no good reason, and it's simply an unfortunate historical oversight....an oversight that we plan to put right effective immediately.> *Reiko takes a deep breath and allows the murmurs in the room to quiet down* Reiko: <I am very pleased to announce that starting at the next ZIP JAPAN event, we will be holding an 8 woman tournament to crown the inaugural ZIP JAPAN Joshi Champion! My sisters and I have been very busy behind the scenes recruiting talent to fill up the tournament spots and establish the core of our Joshi Division. I have to emphasize that this will NOT be a one time event, but a new and ongoing active division with regular contenders and Championship matches. Allow me to show you the prize these women will be competing for.> *Reiko pulls out a large black silk bag and produces a beautiful new title belt from inside. It's got red gold plates on a white leather strap* Reiko: <Ladies and gentlemen, the ZIP JAPAN Joshi Championship!> *Reiko holds the title belt above her head with two hands as cameras flash and the crowd applauds* Reiko: <Now, let me introduce to all of you the 8 women who will make up the initial roster for the Joshi Division. First up, an incredibly athletic and acrobatic young wrestler, Momoe Ito!> *Ito emerges from behind the curtain and stands at the podium* Momoe: <Hello! I'm Momoe Ito and I can't wait to show the fans of ZIP JAPAN what I can do in the ring! Everyone get on board, because the Rocketship Kawaii is fueled up and ready for takeoff!> *Ito raises a fist into the air above her head, before standing off to one side* Reiko: <Next up is a rough and tough brawler from far-off Canada, please welcome Rebecca Roxx!> *Roxx comes out and takes her spot at the podium (same thing for all the rest of the women)* Rebecca: (in English, her words are translated to Japanese at the bottom of the screen) Hi, everyone! I'm Rebecca Roxx, and I'm from a small rural community in Northern Alberta. There's not much to do in my town but drink and fight, and I'm the best there is at both. Come on, ZIP JAPAN, let's rumble! *Roxx puts up her dukes for a moment and laughs before taking her spot next to Ito* Reiko: <Our next joshi is the dangerous submission specialist, Hanako Yoshii!> Hanako: <I'm Hanako Yoshii. Yes, I have a reputation as a submssion wrestler, but I'm not that one dimensional. I have a background in Muay Thai so I'm comfortable striking, and I'm not afraid to dive from the turnbuckles either. I'll do whatever it takes to get the victory!> Reiko: <And our final babyface competitor, the humble but extremely talented Yumi Yamaguchi!> Yumi: (she bows to Reiko) <Thank you. I'm Yumi Yamaguchi, and pro wrestling has been my entire life since I was a young girl, going to ZIP JAPAN events with my father. I've been training for two years, and I look forward to the chance to earn the respect of the fans and roster members of ZIP JAPAN.> (she bows to the audience) Reiko: And now, since every hero needs a villain to fight, allow me to introduce the heels! First among them is a lady known as Mistress Poison, Aya Mizuno!> Aya: (she sprays green mist over the first couple rows of the audience, before looking over the assembled babyfaces) <Seriously, Reiko? Is this the best you've got? (she addresses the crowd) I'm Aya Mizuno, and none of these girls are going to last more than 5 minutes in the ring with me. Next time you hear from me, I'll be wearing the ZIP JAPAN Joshi Championship belt!> Reiko: <Next up is the biggest and strongest wrestler in the Joshi Division, her combination of raw power and submission skills reminds me of ZIP JAPAN legend Kintaro. Please welcome Psycho Witch!> Psycho: <I'm Psycho Witch, but you can call me the Black Empress. All you puny women, consider this your one and only warning...stepping into the ring with me will be a lesson in agony and suffering. Here comes the pain!> (she flexes her biceps) Reiko: <Next, all the way from New York City, USA...she's beautiful but deadly, Vicki Violence!> Vicki: (also in English) I'm Vicki Violence aka Pretty Evil. I've got a mean streak as wide as the American midwest, and I didn't come all the way to Japan to play nice and roll around on the floor with these chicks. I'm here to make some bitches bleed! See you in the ring, suckers! Reiko: <And finally, she's the daughter of ZIP JAPAN founder King ZIP, and my sister, Suki ZIP!> Suki: <I'm Suki ZIP and most of you know me as a ZIP JAPAN referee. Well, I'm giving up my referee job to become part of the ZIP JAPAN Joshi Division. Just like my father was the cornerstone of the company for many years, I expect nothing less than to be the dominant champion of this new division. Anyone who thinks otherwise should remember who's in charge around here. You don't cross the boss!> *Suki joins the group and Reiko stands at the podium again, chuckling to herself* Reiko: <Thank you Suki. Of course you'll do well to remember that even though you own one third of ZIP JAPAN, it's me who actually runs the company.> *A ripple of laughter courses through the room. Reiko waits for it to die out and resumes* Reiko: <The next ZIP JAPAN show will be named ZIP JAPAN Joshi Explosion, and will feature the four first round matches of the women's tournament, with the semifinals and final match to take place at the following event. The remainder of the card for Joshi Explosion will be announced tomorrow. Thank you all for your time and attention.> *Reiko bows and the camera fades out as she is applauded*

Woo! It's another ZIP JAPAN promo roundup! *camera fades in on Justin Starr* Starr: <Starr vs Tsukamoto II, for the ZIP JAPAN Junior Heavyweight Championship, a rematch from New Year of Triumph. Things didn't go so well for you last time, Tskuamoto-san, I hope you learned something from our first encounter...I know I did. I learned that you're even stronger than you look. I learned that getting hit with your Ice Pick finisher hurts for DAYS. I learned just how poorly prepared for you I was....but I still managed to defeat you Tsukamoto! This time I know exactly what to expect, so how well do you think you'll fare against me? The Go-Go Gaijin is ready, and my title is on the line. (he holds up his belt) Come on Tsukamoto! Take it if you can!>
*The ZIP JAPAN logo swooshes across the screen to transition to GORO, he whips off his shades*
GORO: <So Reiko finally saw the light and gave me a night off. Good. If I ain't in the main event, I'm not interested in being involved...but of course she's still trying to sneak me onto her show, using some ancient footage of me from her precious archive to try and boost attendance. Pretty pathetic, Reiko. Don't be fooled people! The greenhorn Junior Heavyweight wrestling ECKO at Joshi Explosion is so far removed from the Champion I am today, he's essentially a different person. Gorobei Jr was a failure and a fool. GORO is a runaway freight train, hauling a massive shipment of violence. Anyways, I kinda like the idea of having nights off, so let's make this a regular thing: normal matches are officially beneath a superstar of my stature! Fans of ZIP JAPAN will have to wait until my title defenses to witness their Champion in action from now on! So Mr Suplex, Mad Bomber, and Demon Otsu...it doesn't really matter which one of you wins the #1 Contenders match at Joshi Explosion...because not one of you can handle what GORO brings to the ring!
*GORO puts his shades back on and he gives a cocky grin. ZIP JAPAN logo swoosh transitions to Watau Nakajima and Thunder Fist standing side by side*
Nakajima: (to camera) <So at Joshi Explosion, we will be facing former ZIP JAPAN Tag Team Champions Green Crush, Kiryama and Kaneshiro. A couple of tough customers, to be sure...but with my new friend Thunder Fist at my side (Nakajima gives Thunder Fist a hearty thump on the back), they don't stand a chance! We've been working on communicating better with each other (to Thunder Fist), isn't that right, big guy?>
Fist: (he hesitates for a moment before nodding) Yes.
Nakajima: <Haha, we haven't quite got you speaking Japanese yet, but you understand everything I say, right?>
Fist: (a moment passes) Uh...yes?
Nakajima: (enthusiastic) <Good, good! Now, my boy...show them what we've been working on!>
*Fist stands there uncertainly for a moment, and Nakajima motions for him to spit it out. Fist finally catches on*
Fist: (he slaps himself on the chest) THUNDER FISSSST! (he claps Nakajima on the shoulder. Nakajima stumbles a bit, but Fist presses on without noticing) NAKAJEEEMA! (he smashes his massive fists together) WE...CRUSH! GREEN! HAHAHA!
*Nakajima recovers and wipes a small tear from his eye*
Nakajima: <Beautiful, just beautiful...>
*Another ZIP JAPAN logo swoosh transitions to Satoshi Iguchi*
Iguchi: <Hey, Hamada! Next Friday, you and me, one on one, rookie. I heard that Reiko wanted to book HAGE to be ringside for our encounter at Joshi Explosion, but HAGE refused to be a part of the match. (in a mocking voice) Awwww, is little Hamada-kun having a fight with his sensei? HAH! What a joke! No one cares about you Hamada! You couldn't draw money if I gave you a whole box of green crayons! People are coming from far and wide to watch ME beat your face into the mat, junior, so you better get used to the idea of losing. That's what losers like you have to do. I used to beat up your sensei for fun, so the weak little student shouldn't pose any difficulty for me. Next Friday Hamada, the Cutter King is going to turn out your lights, just...like...this.
*Iguchi snaps his fingers and the screen goes black*
